Directions to property:
From the Bay Area - Take Hwy 101 North to Cloverdale. Then take Hwy 128 West (about 55 miles) through Anderson Valley and enjoy the wineries, apple orchards and redwoods. At Hwy 1 turn north to Mendocino (about 9 miles). Turn left at the first stop light (and only one in Mendocino) on to Little Lake Road. Turn left on the second street which is Howard. Go two blocks to the Whitegate Inn on your left. Total time 3- 3 1/2 hours unless you get delayed at one of the tasting rooms.

From the Bay Area Alternate - Take Hwy 1 up the coast to Mendocino. The scenery is breath-taking but the trip is long and curvy. Allow at least 5 hours.

From Points North - Oregon/Eureka - Take Hwy 101 South to Legett. From there continue on Hwy 1 South to Mendocino. At Mendocino turn right at the light on to Little Lake Road. The turn left on the second street which is Howard. Go two blocks to the Whitegate Inn which will be on your left.

From Willits and other Points East - Take Hwy 20 to Fort Bragg (about 33 miles). Then go South 9 miles to Mendocino. Follow the directions in route 3.

Cancellations:
There is a $25 fee for all cancellations. As a small independently-owned inn, cancellations affect us dearly. A 14 day cancellation notice prior to 12:00 noon on day of arrival is required or you are obligated to pay the full charge of the reservation unless we can re-rent the room. A 30 day cancellation notice is required for holidays, packages and/or reservations of two or more rooms.

Owners, Richard and Susan Strom are Dallas transplants. Richard, a Telecommunications Attorney (he now prefers the term recovering attorney), and Susan, a high tech manager who escaped just before the high tech bust and who is the former Director of Dining Service Operations & Catering at UCLA and UC Irvine CA, have built upon and improved on the inn's tradition of excellence, style, elegance and comfort.
