Sanborn House is the ideal retreat for business and holiday travelers. The guest house provides many of the amenities you would find at home and is located in LA's charming residential Silverlake and Los Feliz neighborhoods. It is accessible to many attractions like Hollywood, Universal Studios, the Getty Museum, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, and of course, sunny beaches of Southern California. Sanborn House has two guest units providing Hollywood charm and comfort: one Guest Suite (GSuite) and one Guest Room (GRoom). Both have its own private bath, TV/VCR, telephone, ceiling fan, queen size beds, and parking. Both share and have access to the guest kitchen. In addition to the above, the guest suite has a sitting /living room and its own private entrance. Wireless DSL internet access is available (must have own laptop).

My stay was such an unexpected pleasure. Nobody would suspect that such a place, nestled in the hubbub of a thriving city like Los Angeles, could ever exist. But it does! The charm and quaint nature of the house and property are contagious and I plan on returning to this "haven" whenever my travels take me to California. I might add that the people (Gary and Jaime) who run this establishment are very friendly and accommodating, thus enhancing an already great experience. Thanks again guys! Rich from Florida

Everything about our stay was just about perfect. The place was clean, nicely decorated, spacious, and comfortable, and the neighborhood is great -- lots of interesting places within walking distance, including a coffee bar that opens at 6 am (expensive but good). I gave "dining" four stars, although, of course, there is no food -- this is not a B&B. But it does have a well-equipped, shared kitchen. Having private parking was another bonus. The owner was extremely nice -- helpful but unintrusive. We'll definitely want to stay there again.

We stayed for two days while visiting family in the immediate area. This was our first visit. The rooms are very comfortable, there was never an issue with getting hold of Gary or Jaime - although for us that was only as we checked in and checked out. We talked with Gary for about an hour before we left, just chatting about the area and our visit and he is a great host, I have no doubt that Jaime would be equally fun to talk with. Normally, we camp at some of the State Parks when we visit LA, but with a shorter time period to visit, we chose to try Sanborn House. It is a great value, the location is hard to beat - there are great restaurants and coffee shops nearby, but if you want to cook, the kitchen facility is perfect. As I said in the title, we will be staying there again!

What a gem this B and B (without the second B--no breakfast served but you do have access to a kitchen for you to serve yourself your own breakfast) is! This was our third stay and we will definitely return as we have family in LA. The owners are very friendly and accommodating with attention to detail and FREE PARKING off street. Shhhhh, we want this B and B all to ourselves! :)

Needed a place to stay close to our family in East Hollywood. A friend suggested the Sanborn Guest House and found it to be our perfect spot! In the Silver Lake area, we could walk everywhere. Comfortable bed, cute living area and a shared kitchen make this a perfect place to stay. Our hosts could not have been more helpful. Definitely a place we will return to!

This was perfect...off street parking, private access, great light, inviting yard, super comfortable bed with wonderful bedding. Kitchen access shared with other visitors. Was woken at 7am by loud music playing in separate guest area but had good feeling that I could have let them know and would have been accommodated. Very caring feeling inspired by the hosts.

Oh, Sanborn House, how I do love thee! I started staying here five years ago, when I would visit LA from Chicago. I always feel like I'm coming home! Gary is the perfect host. I love that I have a secure place to park my rental car, a full kitchen for cooking dinner, and a private bathroom. The room itself is lovely, with windows overlooking the backyard. I just wish Sanborn House wasn't so popular now, I have a hard time booking the place! Thanks for another great stay!

this place was lovely. comfortable, stylish and a great little library to boot.
Los Angeles, CA (LAX) 20 miles
Ask your car rental agent for directions to the 105. Take the 105 East to the 110, which you will take north (towards Los Angeles). While on the 110 you will go through downtown LA. After passing through downton, take 101 North to Hollywood. Go about 4 miles. Exit at Vermont Avenue. Turn right onto Vermont, go about 1.25 miles, and at Santa Monica Blvd. turn right. Go about 5 blocks where Santa Monica Blvd. merges into Sunset Blvd. This intersection is also Sanborn Ave. You will turn right. The Guest House is at the next corner over the hill on your right.
