Garden Cottage B & B

We hesitate to tell you how great this is because we need to book on short notice and we don't want the secret to get out. Ahuva and Bob take good care of you, the rooms are great, the breakfast is wonderful and the parking is free. Now stay somewhere else so we can get in.

Our stay here can be simply summarized as fantastic. Bob an Ahuva are wonderful people and go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The bed was comfortable, the amenities were great and Ahuva's organic breakfast can't be beat, you can taste that it's made with love. we felt so spolied and relaxed. The location is ideal to wherever you need to get to in LA and within walking distance of the Beverly Center, the Grove, Whole Foods, great cafe and restaurants. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe. Our 6 nights here were simply amazing, can't wait to go back!! Sonia & Suzy

My husband and I have been B & B visitors for many years, and our stay at the Secret Garden did not disappoint! Our room/patio was was comfy and LA luxurious. We would and will return as soon as possible. Our breakfast was fabulous. Please ask for the granola parfait.

Wow! I found this B&B randomly on the net and after the awesome reviews I read, I was convinced to stay there. To find a place so quiet and lovely in the middle of a city like LA is amazing. I can't wait to be back in LA and stay here again. Bob and Ahuva are nice beyond words and they will go above and beyond.

We stayed with Ahuva and Bob for 2 nights. They were charming and helpful and generous hosts. The room was large, spotless and well furnished with antiques and a wonderfully comfortable bed. An excellent breakfast was served with a choice of continental or cooked (we had one of each). The food was all fresh, organic and beautifully presented

Excellent accommodation combined with first class hosts makes this one of the best places to stay in Los Angeles. We have been here for three nights and are sad to leave. A very quiet and private location in a smart street, with only a short walk to The Grove and Farmers Market, makes this a good place for shopaholics!

The furnishings were lovely, and Ahuva and Bob were friendly and helpful. The food was incredible-- they came into our room in the mornings and set out a feast of eggs, potatoes, sausages, fruit, breads, jams, coffee, and orange juice. We enjoyed sitting in their peaceful patio listening to the fountains and wind chimes and looking at the beautiful plants and the occasional hummingbird. And it was a great neighborhood where we felt safe walking at night.

Very friendly and hospitable hosts of the cottage. Always ready to help with any matter arising. It was a real pleasure for us. Hope to come back some day.

Bob and Ahuva, the owners, were friendly and extremely accommodating. They made my stay very personal, and were knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Unfortunately, I was not able to eat any meals with them due to a busy schedule, but my room came equipped with a bowl of fresh, organic, local fruit and some M&Ms. Finding a garden oasis in the middle of busy Los Angeles was delightful. I highly recommend staying here-- the price is right and the experience is amazing!

The hosts couldn't have been nicer--they made us feel right at home. Even though it was hot and smoggy in L.A. at the time, the room felt like a cool oasis. Lovely smooth cotten sheets and duvet cover on the bed. Beautiful, eclectic furniture and artwork. The bathroom was sparkling clean and roomy. We could hear gurgling, tinkling fountains through our windows from the garden. Walking distance to hip little restaurants and the good old Farmer's Market plus the upscale Grove shopping center. We're both from L.A. so it was fun to reconnect but not burden our relatives. Can't recommend it highly enough. Yummy breakfast, too! (and thanks for the nuts and M'n'Ms). This was one of the best places we have ever stayed during our year of travelling the world. Bob and Ahuva are amazing hosts, the location is brilliant, breckfast is mouth-watering and the Garden Cottage was secluded and very comfortable. Don't bother looking anywhere else, stay here if you can.

My stay at the Garden Cottage Bed and Breakfast was not lacking in any way. The environment was pleasant and inviting. Ahuva and Bob made me feel so welcome. They were very friendly and thoughtful but without being invasive. The garden is beautiful and the food is delicious. The room was well cared for and very clean. I would go back there again in an heart beat. The price is more than reasonable especially when you see what some of the most repulsive places charge. Garden Cottage is a place that nourishes your mind, body and soul!

We stayed 5 nights (we were working at the Convention Center) and greatly enjoyed our stay. Bob and Ahuva were model B&B-hosts - interested, interesting, and attentive but not intrusive. Breakfasts were fresh, generous, healthy and delicious - and brought to our room (unusual in a B&B) which suited us perfectly as we had to get out early and didn't really want to socialize first thing in the morning! Mid-afternoon wine and snacks were welcome surprises. The B&B is located in a quiet leafy street with nice houses and very safe - yet it is walking distance from interesting shops/restaurants/cafes including a great deli and also a large mall. An easy drive from the airport, and to downtown. We're very pleased we stayed here!

We wondered what we would find at a B&B so close to the giant city of Los Angeles, and couldn't have more pleased with our accommodations. Our room was large and spotlessly clean, with lovely furnishings. The feather bed gave both of us a great night's sleep. The gardens are peaceful, and the bubbling fountain outside our door was so relaxing to listen to. Ahuva and Bob suggested 'The Little Door' for dinner, and that was a splendid experience. The B&B is in a beautiful residential area, within walking distance of restaurants, shops and the Beverly Center and The Grove. All the benefits of the city, with the peaceful and serene atmospher of the country garden. We will definitely return.

Quieter and more restful than any hotel room the secluded Garden Room came with flowers, fresh fruit and use of a computer as well as two of the nicest, attentive hosts one could wish for. Susan & Cole

Enjoyed my stay there. Ahuva and Bob were very accomodating. Watch out if you're staying on Monday or Tuesday. The LAPD will issue you a ticket if you're parked on the wrong side of the street. Would stay again.

So close to wonderful parts of LA and incredible value. Lovely private room containing pretty much everything you could ask for. The breakfast is absolutely outstanding with top notch quality beautifully presented. This is no grab and go snack. Take your time to savor the grace of the morning and have a wonderful start to the day. Wonderful places to eat or have a glass of wine within walking distance.

We stayed in November 2007. This was a thouroughly enjoyable experience. Hope to get back to visit again.

This B&B is FANTASTIC! We have been to many a bed & breakfast and this one tops our list of all-time favorites. I have been disappointed with the "breakfasts" that other So. CA B&B's have served us (expanded continental breakfasts are not the reason that I stay in B&B's-- give me a REAL breakfast please) but not so with this place! Their gourmet organic breakfast was absolutely superb! I was 8 months pregnant when my husband and I stayed there. We were in the Patio Room and it was so, so wonderful. We had SUCH an amazing, relaxing time. The whole backyard was like this secret garden of escape (they used to own a nursery-- so you can imagine all the wonderful plants that they have). It was great because we didn't have to travel very far to get there and yet it was like we were in a whole different (and relaxing) world! The hosts are so lovely-- we enjoyed them immensely. They were fun to talk with, and incredibly kind and attentive. I can't wait to go back!!! We were so full from breakfast that we weren't hungry until about 4pm! And being pregnant, I usually eat all day long! Oh yummmmmmmm-- just thinking about it is making me hungry! We checked in at 2pm on Friday and then stayed 2 nights. Check out isn't until noon... so it felt as if our 2 night stay was 3 full days. We thought the area was really cool to poke around, window shop, lots of great restaurants, etc.. My husband and I took a nap all 3 days-- the patio room opens out into the garden, so the door was open, a breeze was blowing in, we could hear the fountains in the garden and the windchimes and it was just heavenly!

My husband and I stayed here for UCLA Parent's Weekend. It was just a lovely experience and an easy 15 minute drive to campus. Our room had lovely antiques and a private library. There were fresh flower arrangements (even in the bathroom!), mineral water, fruits, m&m's and nuts. Nice touches everywhere. Breakfast was wonderful and Ahuva and Bob were great hosts. We took a nice walk to the Farmer's Market and The Grove from the B&B. We only wish we had discovered this retreat earlier in our daughter's college career.

What a fabulous find. Amongst all the madness that is LA. Ahuva and Bob have created an amazing place to stay.

The guest house is a mere reflection of the hosts, Ahuva and Bob. The place is intimate, warm and welcoming. The breakfast is delightful and atmosphere is simply magical. I had a terrific experience...

My husband and I stayed in the Garden Room. It was very spacious, very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. We had a nice walk in closet, private bath, and a private entrance. The best part were the hosts, Ahuva and Bob. They are friendly and welcoming, but never intrusive. Ahuva's breakfasts were unbelievable, every ingredient was fresh and of high quality. We both wished we could eat that way every morning! Also, parking was very easy and the location was great. Close to the Beverly Center, The Grove, lots of restaurants, Hollywood, etc...

Ahvuva and Bob are great hosts. Their rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. However, the greatest asset is their truly enchanting garden. Nothing beats this lovely, well kept oasis. From now on whenever we will visit LA it's the Garden Cottage B&B for us!

I'm already telling everyone I know about the Garden Cottage B&B. Ahuva and Bob are such nice people and Ahuva is about the most gracious hostess that I have ever encountered. Not only are her breakfasts delicious, but she keeps bringing more food! I stayed alone in the Garden Room and I always felt safe, pampered and completely taken care of. You will not regret your stay at the Garden Cottage!

I can't say enough about our stay at Bob and Ahuva's B&B. I came with my daughter for business and they were as gracious and lovely as I had hoped. The accommodations were perfect...the room spotless...the bed so comfortable and the garden was the perfect touch, especially in the morning. Ahuva made us feel so welcome and went out of her way to get us whatever we wanted and needed, even bringing us her scrumptious meals earlier than the scheduled time because we had to leave every morning so early. I will always come back to the Garden Cottage! What a find!

Bob and Ahuva have a great secret…the Garden Cottage B&B!!! This is the perfect oasis tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood right in the middle of all the action of Los Angeles, extremely convenient to Melrose, Beverly Center and Hollywood/WeHo. They have created a sanctuary for travelers who don’t want to stay in an impersonal hotel chain or some expensive stuffy over-rated Beverly Hills hotel. The rooms are extremely comfortable; the bed was heaven, the garden overflowed with flowers and charm while the fountains lulled us to sleep each night. Did I mention the breakfasts?? The breakfasts were completely out of this world and totally unexpected. Ahuva (and or Bob?) is a fabulous cook; the ingredients are organic, fresh, delicious and ample. Upon our very late arrival (almost 1am), we were greeted by the smiling and friendly face of Bob and shown to our quarters where bottled water, sparkling water and snacks awaited us. Each morning we were greeted by the lovely Ahuva with our delicious breakfasts and her smiling face. Both Ahuva and Bob were extremely helpful and friendly but also respected our privacy, the perfect hosts. It simply does not get any better than this place! I have stayed at dozens of Bed and Breakfasts throughout the United States and Europe and I can honestly say this is my favorite of them all. It may not be a mansion nor is it adorned with priceless art and antiques but the rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable, very pleasant and spacious. I dare you to find more hospitable hosts, better breakfasts or more comfortable digs than the Garden Cottage!!! Try it, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Garden Cottage!! Bob & Ahuva were very gracious hosts and provided us with a very hospitable stay! We got snacks of apples/brie, almonds, grapes & chocolate upon arrival and even a bottle of wine. The room and bathroom were beautiful with fresh flowers. Breakfast was outstanding and included a variety of fresh fruit and sourdough/wheat bread with eggs, potatoes, avocado, tomato and muffin. We wish we could have stayed longer and would definately recommend this B&B to anyone. The Farmer's Market & Grove were a short walk away and easily done at night. We really enjoyed our conversations with the innkeepers, too. Thanks for the stay!

I have stayed with Ahuva and Bob numerous time and am now spoiled! I travel to LA about 4-5 times a year and refuse to stay anywhere else. After a day of work, you truly feel like you're going home. The ambiance is amazing...trickling fountains, chirping birds, candlelight and the beautiful smells of the garden. I have stayed in both the cottage and the garden room and both are well worth the money. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit to my home away from home!

THis is just a wonderful place to stay! We have stayed at least a half dozen times when we have been in LA to visit family. Ahuva and Bob are just wonderful people and we love all the luxury and the delicious breakfasts.

This is a lovely, high-quality B&B tucked away in a residential neighborhood. Decor and gardens are lovely; breakfast is made-to-order with highest quality ingredients; hosts are very nice people; and the setting is very quiet. You waken to birds singing in the garden.
