5 out of 5Great place to escape
April 19, 2013
I found this great B & B and thoroughly enjoyed just getting away by myself. The innkeepers are very tuned in to how their guests want to enjoy themselves. I wanted 'down time' and I got it. Not one time, but they remembered me two more trips and knew what i needed at that time. Great time off from work/life.

Delightful experience. Delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, scone and quiche, plenty of food to please my guy (real men do eat quiche when it is this tasty). Huge tub in our room and so many special touches like have two kinds of pillows (soft and hard), real fire places with real wood, ready to light. Staff were friendly and efficient. We were so impressed already made reservations for Crab and Wine Festival in January.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while traveling through the Mendocino area and loved the rejuvenating and relaxing stay! This is a beautiful old B&B that has much history but has been renovated to provide luxury and enjoyment today. We stayed in the Daisy room, which was beautifully appointed with a down-topped Queen mattress and a wood-burning stove with wood provided. I don't think we've ever slept so well. The view, star-gazing, and location were perfect. Jo, the proprietor, was very patient, even as we arrived well after 11pm (unexpectedly) our first night, and set us up with regard for our needs, even though we kept her up quite late. Breakfast was delicious and gourmet, delivered right to our doorstep each morning! In all aspects this was a lovely stay. Highly recommended!
5 out of 5The best B&B! We spent a lovely weekend at Dennen's Victorian Farmhouse. After a beautiful drive thru the famous Sequoia Redwoods we arrived at the California coast. The ocean crashing onto the sand and rocks, sun shining on the glistening sea spray, sea birds were gliding above the water. We

Lovely, nature walks to the ocean, delicious breakfasts beautifully prepared and served exactly on time, big cozy sleigh bed with lots of soft pillows and quilts, picturesque setting, impossible to describe the beauty and comfort of this delightful weekend. Saturday afternoon we drove a few miles north to explore the rocky coast, photograph, and window shop in the cute little town of Mendocino. Out consummate hosts, Freddie and Jo, enhanced the weekend. We can't wait for our next trip!

4.6 out of 5Fun time, good accommodations
February 27, 2012
We recently stayed at Dennen’s Victorian Farm House and had a wonderful time! We were in the Quail Cottage, which provided both comfortable and charming accommodations at a very reasonable rate for the area. The staff were all pleasant and friendly, and the included room service breakfast was the icing on the cake. Add in the view of the Pacific Ocean from the property, and it was truly a one of a kind experience. In addition to the great experience at Dennen’s itself, Mendocino also offers a variety of delicious restaurants, beautiful scenery and fun activities. The staff was able to provide us with a number of recommendations. Luckily for us, the weather was nice and we were able to rent kayaks and take a boat ride up Big River. An all around fantastic time!
5 out of 5Our 45th Wedding Anniversary
January 22, 2012
We hadn't been to Mendocino since the mid 90's so we decided to come back to celebrate. After doing much research we decided to try Dennan's Victorian Farmhouse. I wanted to book online but was having a problem for some reason so I called. Jo was so helpful. I had lots of questions and Jo was so patient and so helpful. We phoned ahead because it was raining and we were on unfamiliar roads, making sure to tell Jo we may not arrive until after 8 PM. Upon arrival Jo was so friendly and helpful. She knows this area like the back of her hand and gave many suggestions. She called and got us a dinner reservation most places had all ready closed their kitchen. She made sure that they would stay open for us and did so. We stayed in the Dennen Suite, the picture on the website is exactly as shown. We are very impressed with the size of the rooms, very spacious and love the bed and furnishings. I had one problem in that their WiFI was not secure, anyone within range could use it. I mentioned my concerns to Jo and the next morning their IT guy was here to secure the Wifi. They aim to please and they do just that. When we are in the area again we will be back. Thank you Jo and Fred for being the very special people who you are and for making us feel so welcome.
5 out of 5Mendocino: Dennens Victorian Farmhouse: First Class!
June 09, 2011
We stayed at Dennens Victorian Farmhouse on the Mendocino coast for three nights in early June. This is a classy and peaceful place to be. The gardens and ocean views are beautiful. The rooms have fireplaces that are replenished with wood each day. The rooms are individually designed with gorgeous antiques; our beds were comfortable complete with lush pillows. Our dietary restrictions were noted and an enormous, fresh organic breakfast was served every morning at our cottage door at the time we requested. Dennens’ has first class service and the best homemade breakfast of any B & B I have ever stayed in. Often the portions were too much to finish. The service is outstanding; everyone greeted us with warmth and was eager to accommodate us at any time of the day. The owners designed this B & B as a dream come true; they clearly treat customers the way they would like to be treated on a holiday. The prices cannot be beat for the comfort, friendly service, and little touches. The value at Dennens Victorian Farmhouse is superior; they spoiled us! This is a first class experience for an amazing affordable price!

I went with my boyfriend to celebrate our birthdays together. The room we stayed in, TreeView, is my favorite. I enjoyed the coziness and the fireplace! Also, the bathroom had a jacuzzi and that was nice. I did some poetry writing at the table as I watched the sunset. I looked forward to the breakfasts that they served as it was very yummy! The ocean is very close by and there is a small trail that leads to the cove. I enjoyed watching the waves crash and gathering seashells. The staff at Dennen's is very friendly and hospitable. I am looking forward to coming back again.
