A Slice of Heaven

An Exquisite B&B filled with Luxury. The breakfast was the best I have ever had as any B&B. THE hosts so lovely, so relaxing and so beautiful. Love this B&B

The best bed and breakfast in the country.

My wife and myself with our daughter and son in law spent 2 nights there and had the best time. The pool the surroundings the breakfast, which was out of this world and the hosts were second to none. We are going again, it's the best we've ever been too.

A bit of Heave at the Haven!

We have stayed at Jamul Haven twice now and love it! We have stayed in the Celtic Room and the Rose room and loved both! We love the pool, food, atmosphere and the owners, William and Marianne are awesome! The Breakfast Marianne cooks is the best and worth the trip there alone! The pool rivals any hotel getaway. If you go on the 3rd of July you become part of their family BBQ celebration and a firework show that evening from the nearby golf course! Once your there you don't want to leave! Can't wait to go back again!

Like staying at your own Private Resort!

The rooms of the B&B are in a re-built 1890's farmhouse. All are done in varying Victorian décor. The property also includes a trails and shaded gardens (with hummingbirds and swallows galore), a swimming pool, multiple hot tubs and soaking pools, and a water slide (!). In a separate building is a guest lounge, a game room (ping pong, pool, air hockey, etc.) and even a small disco! The food is first class, starting with a breakfast bar (fresh pastries, meat & cheese, yogurt, cereal) followed by one of the house specialty hot entrees made to order. Proprietress Marianne is a gourmet cook, and by her admission most of the Haven's guests skip lunch because her breakfast is so extensive and delicious. In the evening, Marianne brings over a fresh desert for guests-- and since we had a birthday during our stay, she made a birthday cake! While we tended to interact mostly with Marianne, both of the owners are sociable and pleasant, and Bill is a published poet and entrepreneur. While we understand that all four bedrooms are often booked on the weekend, given the size of property (6+ acres) and the extensive amenities scattered throughout, I don't think it would feel crowded even with a full house. We were the sole guests for part of our stay, and it genuinely felt like we were staying at our own private resort with a solicitous and professional staff. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit San Diego-- it was unquestionably the finest B&B stay we have had anywhere.

amazing b&b

Vintage Bed & Breakfast

We stayed in the Pelican Suite and were impressed with the authentic restoration of this grand old mansion. It is a very restful place surrounded by nature and beautiful amenities. The bathroom tub/shower water pressure was a challenge but delicious early morning coffee on the wrap around deck made up for this slight inconvenience. Bill and Marianne are delightful hosts and we quickly felt right at home in this unique wonderful one of a kind Inn. Marianne is an exceptional cook and breakfast was something to look forward to with fresh eggs from their healthy chickens and herbs from their garden.

Hubby and I love B&B's, and since we've been to so many, we've become a little bit of "B&B snobs"! :) Jamul Haven was one of the best we've been to!! The grounds are GORGEOUS and there are so many areas to "hide" and relax. There are only 4 rooms, and they are all done so well and with great detail. There is a pool and 2 jacuzzis!! A chicken coop and fresh eggs in the morning! There is even a game room and disco!! There is so much to do and enjoy there you won't want to go out anywhere! The innkeepers Bill and Marianne are wonderful. Sweet and attentive. Marianne bakes fresh cookies every night and delivers them to the common kitchen with fresh milk. We definitely plan on going back!!

Loved it, loved it!!

Jamul Haven without a doubt was the best B&B we have visited In years. We stopped going to B&B's because I find most of them unwelcoming. We love meeting the owners/Inn keepers. I don't especially enjoy going to a B&B where the only contact you have is with a student from a neighboring university. Most of these people are not knowledgeable about the area and in many cases I know more than they do. Jamul Haven was wonderful. The grounds were very lovely, and most of all the owners Marianne and Bill were fantastic. Marianne fixed the most exquisite breakfasts. Love everything about our stay at Jamul Haven.

Superb Service!

My boyfriend and I had been planning this visit to the San Diego area for about four months and I did a lot of research on where to stay. At the last minute, I made our reservations at Jamul Haven because the hotels located on Coronado Island and the Gas Lamp District were just ridiculous in price. And I have to say that we were more than pleased with my last minute decision on Jamul Haven! We could not have asked for better hosts than Marianne and Bill...they made us feel like one of their family right from the start with Bill waiting up till after Midnight to check us in not to mention meeting us in the rain to show us our room. The next morning we went to the main house for breakfast and let me tell you...this was the absolutely best part of our stay! Marianne and staff cook the best hot breakfast I have had in a while; they offer multiple choices on the menu and even have daily specials which are outstanding. We ate so much at breakfast each morning that we did not need to bother with lunch during our stay. We are planning another trip during the winter holidays and plan on staying at Jamul Haven!

I consider my wife and I fortunate to have stumbled across this gem. While the location is just minutes from the heart of San Diego, the placement in a "nook" of a valley shields you from most of the outside world. The hosts have done a stellar job of adding modern amenities to a historic property, and the small number of guests at any given time mean that they can see to whatever you need. We tend not to stay in the same B&B repeatedly (too much of the U.S. to explore), but I can honestly say that Jamul Haven may lure us back in the future.
