Starting in San Francisco, the most scenic route is to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge on Highway 101. Then, starting just north of Sausalito, exit Highway 101 at Shoreline Hwy (State Highway 1) and drive through Muir Woods National Monument, past Muir Woods, through Stinson Beach, along Bolinas Lagoon, past Audubon Canyon Ranch, to Olema. Drive straight at the stop sign in Olema and turn left onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd (just before the steel bridge). Drive three miles to Dancing Coyote Beach, just past Inverness.

  • When I want to get away I always want to revisit Dancing Coyote Beach. The categories offered for ratings (rooms, service, value, etc) do not capture what is most wonderful about this place -- the setting!! The lovely gardens, the views, the beach, the deck, ... I am happy from the moment I arrive.
