Applewood Inn & Restaurant

Located near Guerneville, California in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley, the Applewood Inn Bed & Breakfast is on a knoll in the shelter of towering redwoods, this romantic inn has two distinct types of accommodations. Those in the original Belden House, where cozy chairs around a river-rock fireplace encourage loitering in the lounge area, are comfortable but modest in scale. The 10 rooms in the newer buildings are larger and airier, decorated in sage green and terra-cotta tones that recall a Mediterranean villa. Guests rave about the accommodating service, soothing atmosphere, and the earthy wine country cuisine served in the cozy restaurant built to recall a French barn.

Wine country accommodations don't come any more relaxing or romantic. Applewood is the perfect choice for a honeymoon, anniversary, weekend getaway or extended wine country vacation.

Weekend warriors wax poetic about this woodsy retreat tucked away in the Russian River Valley that's worth the drive on a foggy curving highway for superb French-accented California cuisine and wines from a great, very local, very exclusive list served by a knowledgeable, helpful staff; the warm welcoming and ultraromantic setting "make it a fabulous over night destination." - Zagat Survey

"Fine Cusine among the redwoods: Set your GPS for this backwoods dinner destination. It’s actually not hard to find, just over the river from the town of Guerneville, but it feels off the map, tucked into the secluded and peaceful Applewood Inn. The upstairs dining room makes a romantic venue, with cozy fireplaces and a solarium overlooking a trickling fountain and courtyard below .. plan ahead and book a room at the inn --- otherwise, you’ll envy those strolling off under the stars for a nightcap." - Gayot 2007"All the elements are right ... what a delightful getaway spot for foodies.”
- Zagat
“The Applewood Inn is a beautiful setting and the chef creates beautiful dishes… the Sauteed Halibut reaches perfection… you’ll love it at Applewood.”
- Press Democrat
“Applewood Inn … sets a standard for small wine country inns.”
- Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Luxury Life & Style Magazine “Applewood Inn has mastered the art of wine country hospitality; spotlessly clean, with huge bathrooms, comfy robes, inviting fireplaces and sinfully soft sheets, it’s also quiet and unpretentious. Surrounded by redwood trees and with its own superb restaurant on-premise, the inn might tempt one to simply stay for the entire weekend with a good book and a better pinot for some company.”
