We regret that we cannot provide an experience that meets the expectations of 100% of our guests, 100% of the time. We understand that our historic 1912, converted craftsman-style mansion was not a good match for you. The majority of our travelers seek out “green” conscience lodging—so things like organic bedding, environmentally friendly toilet paper, full-house water filtration system, recycling and biodegradable cleaning products, as well as electric and water conservation programs are highly valued. We also understand that those things may not be as valuable to you as much as comfort. We honor that—after all, you have the right to seek out whatever your lodging requirements are. The majority of our guests seek us out because we are green.
It is true that turn-of-the-century redwood walls carry sound differently than newer building materials. And rooms off of the lobby are definitely not as quiet as second and third floor rooms. Also, the Inn does have some small bathrooms; the fireplace rooms have larger bathrooms. The shower in the room you occupied is scheduled to be repaired in short order. Thank you for pointing out the problem so that we could address the issue.
As a result of your feedback concerning our resident innkeeper, I gave her and her husband an elaborate tour of Fort Bragg and Mendocino. They both now know where to find the best places to dine for all types of food. And, they’ve learned where to find the best bakeries too.
Finally, we pride ourselves on being reasonably priced compared to other local lodging establishments. Research shows that a room with an ocean view in a historic building with a remodeled bathroom for $145/night on the weekend would be very hard to find in either Fort Bragg or Mendocino. We believe that the Living Light Inn provides the best eco-friendly value on the beautiful Mendocino coast. Thank you for your feedback.
