I took my son, his wife, and their 1 1/2 year old baby for a trip to the ocean. Carter House staff & accommodations made a very pleasant family vacation a reality! The tea and cookies at night was fun. The cuisine was outstanding!

After arriving in Eureka around 8pm after a long day driving from Yosemite NP we pulled into the Carter Inn just by chance and boy am I glad we did! The staff upon arrival were fantastic, they settled us on the couch with a glass of wine and some hors d'oeuvres as they checked us in (they even knocked $80 off the room!). We ate in the restaurant which was lovely, although the portions were a little on the small side (fine for me but my boyfriend was looking for more), but the wine list made up for it. After filling our bellies we floated to our room taking with us the delicious complimentary tea and cookies. The room was well appointed, bed and pillows divine and the shower was great. It was such a nice evening that we ended up staying another night! Would definately recommend the Carter House Inn to anyone looking for a luxurious little respite.

What a wonderful establishment! We booked an upgraded room but when we checked in we were told that a family was staying in our building and would we like a free upgrade to a grand suite!Of course we said yes.We had a lovely suite, were treated royally by all. There was never a problem, everyone was professional yet friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and included in our rate.I didn't think this place was overpriced for us(and we tend toward value). It was a little expensive but I you get what you pay for!!!
