    Vibeke a native of Denmark and Dave born in the UK. Moved from Solvang Calif after living there for over 40 years to Etna Calif in Feb 2005.       Etna is located in the Scott Valley, approximately 23 miles from Yreka, the county seat of Siskiyou County. Interstate 5 has exits at Yreka, which is approximately half-way between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. The nearest large airport is in Medford, Oregon (90 miles). Airports are also in Redding, CA (120 miles) and Sacramento (5 hour drive). Scott Valley also has its own airport for small private planes (8 miles from Etna) and Montague for private jets. The Yreka exit from I-5 is about 20 minutes North of Mount Shasta.

    Dave and Vickie are outstanding hosts, making sure we felt welcome and comfortable in their home. We loved meeting the other guests over an evening glass of wine and at the wonderful breakfast table. The Harrisons take the time to get to know all of their guests, and that is the heart of their b&b. The Scott Valley is a beautiful location, and the best place to stay is certainly Alderbrook Manor. On top of it all, the rates are extremely reasonable.

    We have traveled the world and found the Alderbrook one of the best experiences we have had in many years. The owners became like family and the breakfasts terrific. We will go back next year. If you want a B & B within less than a hour's drive from the California Marble Mountain and Russian wilderness, this is the place. We did beautiful dayhikes and learned about this small town of 750 people. We spent 5 nights there and loved all of it.

    So much fun! I love David and Vibeke!

    I had so much fun staying here. We had wine and cheese at 4 p.m. everyday. And Vibeke made the absolute best breakfast. I stayed for 3 nights. David and Vibeke are wonderful people. The home and yard are beautiful too!
