The Sandpiper House Inn is the most Intimate, Romantic Inn on the Mendocino Coast. It has a "serene location" at the edge of rugged bluffs above Greenwood Cove, with magnificent views of off-shore rock formations, wave-hewn tunnels, caves and the Pacific Ocean. A cottage garden surrounds the house and continues to the edge of the cliffs where a series of walkways and steps lead to a private deck just made for whale-watching. You can look down to a private beach in the cove below that is accessible from another location. Greenwood State Beach is just a short walk away. The local art gallery and museum will pique your interest as you learn about our local artists and the history of the past in this little town with two names, Elk and Greenwood!
One of the most romantic suites in the Inn with its canopied heavenly bed and cloud-soft down comforter. Enjoy the cozy and intimate fireplace and the incredible views from your own private deck. The French doors overlook the beautiful English gardens and the blue Pacific. A secluded pathway leads out to the bluff overlooking the magical Greenwood Cove, St. Anthony's Point and its special caves.
This spacious ocean-front King-sized suite has its own double soaking tub, spacious bathroom and cozy fireplace and even a grandfather clock. French doors lead out to your own private patio, the pretty English garden and the beautiful views of the ocean, the Greenwood Cove, the magical caves and St. Anthony's Point. Even the Inn's little bunnies come out to visit the gardens and the guests.
A breathtaking panoramic view of Greenwood Cove and Point Arena Lighthouse in the distance enhanced by the English gardens below brings guests back to this room again and again. The suite is not the largest in the Inn but the view is the most spectacular. The very comfortable King bed with its cloud-soft down comforter and the cozy fireplace make this an incredible room in which to watch the brilliant red sunsets over St. Anthony's Point. At nightfall the moonlight dances over the waves and in the morning you can watch the incredible ocean's waves wash over the magical rocks of Greenwood Cove
The charm of the large bay window overlooks the beautiful ocean views, the fantastic English Gardens and the two garden ponds. Enjoy the comfortable arm chairs in the Bay Window and cozy-up to the romantic fireplace or enjoy the view from your heavenly King-sized bed with its cloud-soft down comforter. You'll enjoy one of the most unforgettable ocean views on the Mendocino Coast from the Clifton.
In 1916 the Woodland Rose was the original Master Suite. The room faces the tranquil, pastoral views of the meadows and coastal foothills of Greenwood Ridge. Step back in time in this charming spacious room offering the romance of a perfect fireplace, sitting area and beautiful antique furnishings. This spacious room has a private bathroom and an incredibly comfortable King-sized bed and cloud-soft down comforter.

We enjoyed our stay.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Sandpiper House Inn and, again, we loved it! Tracy, the inn-keeper, was wonderful; she even went so far as to ask our favorite winery to open their tasting room for us (which they did). We will definitely return.

The Sandpiper Inn is a work in progress, and we can't wait to see what Tracy does with it. We felt relaxed and in good hands... like a real home away from home. Tracy is a born innkeeper... and a very nurturing woman - she keeps the energy in the house positive and light...and has wonderful recommendations in the area. ....ooh, and Lily the dog rocks! Loved our stay and would definitely return! Pati and Jon Fisher

This is the most darling inn with the greatest and I do mean the GREATEST!!!! innkeeper Tracy. My husband Frank and I spent the most wonderful 3 days for his birthday in April at the inn. The hospitality, food, view, room, and Tracy (most of all) was just exceptional. If you get the chance to stay in the Winston (fabulous!) the view is nothing short of spectacular. It was a vacation I could go on and on about, but I think you get the point. Unforgettable!! Thank you Tracy for helping to make it Frank's best birthday ever!!!!!! We will NEVER forget our time with you. We love you and we loved everything about our time on the Mendocino Coast.

The most amazing place with the most amazing host! Tracy is the sweetest end keeper ever. I took my girlfriend up with plans for a proposal and Tracy helped out with flowers and wine! Views are incredible and with new ownership the place is on its way to being really great. All previous reviews are not relevant anymore, trust me.

Who needs a TV when you have a view like that? Wow incredible! Very confortable bed & enjoyable breakfast. Innkeeper was really pleasant. Nice and quiet except for the waves to fall asleep to. No conplaints here. Elk is a quaint little oceanside town. A wonderful experience.

Although the property was going through an ownership change, Bill and staff treated guests with a very comfortable charm. I would definitely go back.

We immediately felt welcomed by Bill who was fabulous during our short stay. Wonderful cooking, wonderful service, beautiful setting. Can't wait to see what the new owners do to the garden and structure.

The website for this B&B is extremely outdated and deceptive. The gardens are not maintained and overgrown. The B&B is in need of overall maintenance, cleaning and tidiness. The entryway/porch has potted, dead plants with old, badly stained patio furniture. The website (on the photo gallery page) states there are wine & hors-d'oevres in the evening. There was no wine. Except for the carpet stains in our room, the bed and bathroom were clean and our views were awesome. Had we paid more than we did via Groupon, we would have been quite unhappy. There is so much potential for this B&B if it were to look like it does in its website.
