Charles Crocker was one of the famed "Big Four" founders of the Central Pacific Transcontinental Railroad in the 1860s. Crocker purchased about 600 acres of an old Spanish land grant in 1873 as a hunting retreat that he often visited with his cronies. The current lodge was built in 1907 with redwood framing and siding as a family style retreat. It has been updated but retains its original rustic charm.

We found ourselves at the Old Crocker Inn on a busy weekend when nothing closer to downtown Healdsburg had rooms. What luck! The Old Crocker is up above the valley heat, away from traffic noise and the street hubbub. Our little cottage had window to open on three sides to let in the lovely cool air that follows a hot day; a delicious shower in a thoughtfully appointed bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious both mornings, and the coffee as well. Next time we will be there on purpose, not by default.

We spent 4 nights at the Old Crocker Inn in mid-September and we loved this inn! Our cottage (Central Pacific Suite) was spacious and beautiful. The bed and linens were soft and comfortable. The breakfasts were inventive and really delicious and served in a large sunroom with private tables and a lovely view. The inn is a very peaceful and serene place with lots of wildlife around and we were able to completely relax. We spent the next 4 nights in Napa and the entire time we wished we had stayed back at the Old Crocker Inn! We would highly recommend this place for any couple who wants to get away to relax in beautiful wine country.

Upon arriving at this hilltop Inn, we met Tony who showed us to our rooms. He was friendly and courteous while ensuring our needs and expectations were met. The variety of outdoor wildlife was an added bonus, both in the morning and in the evening.

The rooms were dated, but very clean and comfy. Bed was dressed with down pillows and comforter which was very nice. Male innkeeper was a little grumpy at times, but the woman was very friendly and her food was amazing! Very secluded location. Would be inconvient to get to if the summer bridge is not open, make the trip to get there quite a bit longer.

Old Crocker Inn is incredibly charming - our room was rustic and fantastic and incredibly clean. Everyone was very friendly and we liked how remote the B&B was.
