Charles Crocker was one of the famed "Big Four" founders of the Central Pacific Transcontinental Railroad in the 1860s. Crocker purchased about 600 acres of an old Spanish land grant in 1873 as a hunting retreat that he often visited with his cronies. The current lodge was built in 1907 with redwood framing and siding as a family style retreat. It has been updated but retains its original rustic charm.

We stayed at the Canton Cottage and were very comfortable. Bed was super comfortable and the sheets were beyond soft. Fireplace was nice, but we turned it off at night because it was a little noisy when sleeping. Owners were very friendly and the breakfast each morning was delicious. Grounds were very nice. Had a great stay!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Old Crocker Inn! My husband and I spent our 2nd anniversary here, and we lucked out because no one else was with us! The grounds were well maintained, the room was very cozy, and the peaceful nights were very restful We stayed during mid-week in the winter, so that helped, but it was paradise! Tony was an amazing owner. He had so many recommendations on where to go wine tasting, dinner, and driving routes. Not only that, but he is an amazing chef and a genially nice person!!! I highly recommend staying here if you want somewhere tranquil, beyond beautiful, and restful. I will definitely make this a tradition of going back whenever we can :)

Lovely venue with a lot of character. Rooms were cozy and clean, food was top-notch. Day one started off with berries and cream, followed by pesto toast and eggs. Day two began with a fresh fruit smoothie and Belgian waffles, topped and loaded with more fruit. Tony and Marsha were friendly and helpful, making several good recommendations for our wine tour. While the location does feel a tad off-the-beaten path, it's well worth the extra 5-10 minutes to stay at a peaceful, welcoming location with wonderful history.

Warm Friendly B&B with a little history to go with it. Fun spot to stay while exploring California wine country.

We found the history of the place quite interesting, so I suggest reading it. Breakfast was delightful. The owner loaned me his personal iPhone charger for the evening which was much appreciated.
