Beautiful setting in the mountains. Got to see a few deer with their babies up close, and some wild turkey!

Enjoyed our stay but noticed some of the inn needs updating, e.g., our room had a shower that didn't work. The pool needs serious work.

We stayed in the Canton. Woke up to a family of deer walking past our window. Such serene surroundings. Tony and Marcia's hospitality and food were awesome. Would highly recommend and return, definitely!

This was my first visit to The Old Crocker Inn. Love the quiet seclusion and beautiful views! The breakfasts were delicious and were served in a spacious inviting dining room with great views. Our room was comfortable with vintage furnishings. The wrap around porch was lovely. I will definitely return next year on our annual visit to the wine country.

We were given a special early check-in the day we arrived so we could get ready for a diner party. The room was clean and comfortable. We would have liked to have had an armoire or other place to hang our clothes besides the back of the bathroom door. Since we were attending a wedding we had quite a few hanging garments so it was a challenge to keep then from falling down. We loved seeing the deer on the Inn lawn when we returned from dinner! So glad that the summer bridge was open as it saved us 10 - 15 minutes getting to the Dry Creek area where most of the festivities took place. We'd go back again.

We are regular visitors to Old Crocker Inn, and will continue our tradition of celebrating future occasions with Tony and Marcia. This beautiful and friendly place has everything you could hope to find in a get-away ... wonderful hosts, lovely and very comfy accommodation, a serene environment, peace and quiet, nighttime star gazing, easy access to great restaurants in Cloverdale, and the wish you could stay longer when it's time to check out. If you are searching for where you want to stay for your next trip, you can stop looking.

I stayed at the Old Crocker Inn with two friends, and we shared the Clemente room. Judging from the pictures on the site, we thought we would have a small bungalow to ourselves, but it is in fact a split building with 2 units each. We thought the room was quite small for the price, but the property is very nice and we had a wonderful time talking with Tony. The breakfasts were great and Tony and his wife have lots of cool treasures from their travels decorating the common spaces.

The first night we stayed in the Clement Room. This room was in one of the cottages. We didn't really care for the bed in this room. It was a queen size bed and my husband and I have a king size bed at home and it seemed small to us. Tony, the innkeeper, moved us to the Stanford Room which has a king size bed the second night and that was much better. Both mornings the breakfasts were delicious. We had stayed at this B &B nine or ten years ago and were anxious to come back. It is in a wooded area and we saw several deer. We really enjoyed our stay.

My friends and I stayed here for a night. Great view during the day. At night is a bit scary and dark. Service is great. Room is okay. We found the Lodge Rooms to be better than the Cottage Rooms, especially the Crockers.

A throw back inn A peaceful relaxing environment with gracious hosts. A throw back to times of the past. Well appointed rooms. A delicious, nourishing breakfast. A pastoral setting, driving thru the wine country of northern Sonoma Valley. Many nearby wineries to visit. The passport to local wineries was very welcome, eliminating tasting fees. And some wineries not in the passport program comped tasting fees too. And a 15% discount coupon for a Cloverdale Italian restaurant. We enjoyed the food there so much that we went back a 2nd night. All in all, a very pleasurable experience.

My boyfriend and I bought a voucher on Travelzoo for the Crocker Inn and really enjoyed our stay. It was hidden up on the top of the mountain very nice and remote. We saw a group of deer right when we pulled up and even a few turkeys. We were greated with a friendly welcome and even a comlimentary bottle of wine. It was also nice that he had water, tea, coffee and sodas available for all guests. The room was nice and cozy, had a nice big bathroom and a very nice jacuzzi tub. Breakfast every morning was tasty and just the right amount. I would go back and stay there again. I have told my family and friends about this place.

I've stayed at the Old Crocker Inn 5 or 6 times now, and every time, I fall in love with the place all over again. This time, my fiancé and I arranged with the innkeepers -- wonderful people! -- to take over the entire inn for a long weekend. There are 10 rooms all together, with some of them in separate cabins from the main lodge. So we rounded up 17 of our closest friends, bought the place out, and had a grand time. This place is so good that friends from Seattle and Hong Kong came just to hang out with us! Or maybe it was the beauty of the place, and the proximity to some of the best wine in the world in Sonoma and Anderson valleys. All the rooms are lovely, with comfortable beds and soft, bamboo fiber sheets. One of our favorite things to do is find a sunny (or shady) spot on the porch and just take in the view, read, or sit around drinking wine, tasting cheese, and talking. Breakfasts were amazing, and the innkeepers did a superb job of accommodating lots of different dietary needs. There is often some nice wildlife around, including turkeys. The stars at night are amazing.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay. The place is charming and the bed, so so comfortable. We lounged on the porch with great views and got a massage in the room. The next morning breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful room. In the evening some cakes and snacks were put out, that you could help yourself to. There was a really good movie selection in case you felt like watching a movie. Tony and his wife were very friendly. Deers were roaming the property. It was no more no less but perfect! :)

If you are looking for an historic getaway spot, this is a great choice. Each room has a story to tell, the food is delightful, and the owners are responsive without being intrusive. The grounds are beautiful, and the food was great. Because the spot was an isolated retreat for one of the great figures in American history, however, it is a bit difficult to find - but well worth the effort!
5 on March 14, 2014
The property is quiet and relaxing. Its about 15 minutes from the freeway on a curvy two lane road. Plan on day trips and dinner out. The B&B offers a delightful breakfast. In the evening they have coffee, tea and sweets set out for guest. Plus a small movie collection to choose from and watch in your room. The Italian restaurant that they recommend and give a coupon to is wonderful.

Had a great stay!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Old Crocker Inn! My husband and I spent our 2nd anniversary here, and we lucked out because no one else was with us! The grounds were well maintained, the room was very cozy, and the peaceful nights were very restful We stayed during mid-week in the winter, so that helped, but it was paradise! Tony was an amazing owner. He had so many recommendations on where to go wine tasting, dinner, and driving routes. Not only that, but he is an amazing chef and a genially nice person!!! I highly recommend staying here if you want somewhere tranquil, beyond beautiful, and restful. I will definitely make this a tradition of going back whenever we can :)

Lovely venue with a lot of character. Rooms were cozy and clean, food was top-notch. Day one started off with berries and cream, followed by pesto toast and eggs. Day two began with a fresh fruit smoothie and Belgian waffles, topped and loaded with more fruit. Tony and Marsha were friendly and helpful, making several good recommendations for our wine tour. While the location does feel a tad off-the-beaten path, it's well worth the extra 5-10 minutes to stay at a peaceful, welcoming location with wonderful history.

Very enjoyable stay at the Old Crocker Inn. Enjoyed all the amenities of the Canton cottage in such a beautiful setting. Could sense the history and charm. The innkeepers made us feel very welcome and they were extremely helpful answering our questions about where to eat and what wineries to visit. The breakfast was hearty and a great start to our days - the "Breakfast Margarita" is just delicious! We had a wonderful time and plan to return with friends and/or family!!

The breakfasts were delicious and the grounds very nice and quiet. Although it rained during our whole visit, we were just as happy relaxing in our cozy room and porch area. The owners are very friendly and accommodating as well. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable! --Wendy

Very nice property and beautiful location. Rooms were well furnished and comfortable. Hosts were very hospitable and the breakfasts were fresh and tasty. Went in the off season and the wineries were uncrowded for the tastings. Good location for tasting wines in the less visited northern Sonoma regions of Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, and Russian River. The wine passport came in handy. Would stay there again.

We found the Old Crocker Inn on an internet special, and we had no idea just what an awesome find it was! Tony and Marcia are terrific hosts not to mention amazing cooks. You can honestly believe everything they say on their website about the Inn. The linens are amazing, the beds are very comfortable and the grounds are a delight! It was raining one evening while we were there but we were able to sit on the porch and watch deer come through the grounds. We came to do some wine tasting in the area, but it was hard to leave the Old Crocker Inn! We'll certainly be going back again!

My wife and I spent our 37th anniversary at The Old Crocker Inn - Bed and Breakfast. I found it to be delightful! The secluded woodland area, in close proximity to several quaint communities in the wine country of Sonoma County proved to be an excellent choice for our special time away. We enjoyed the "Stanford" room, with its high ceilings, large bed and premium bedding. The bath boasted a clawfoot tub and vintage feel that I really liked. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon, around 3pm. Tony met us at the door with a warm welcome and an offering of a glass of wine and the promise of a nice, fresh from the oven, cake later in the evening. Off to a great start! We asked several questions about the Inn and Lodge and were treated to a short history and great conversation about the region. Tony shared some good advise about things to do and wineries to see as well as great tips in dining out. We stayed two nights. We will be back, and I have already laid the groundwork with friends for a group outing, with The Old Crocker Inn as the centerpiece.

We spent this past weekend at the Inn, our fist B&B experience. It was lovely. The grounds are off the beaten path enough to give you a true getaway experience. Everything was clean and inviting. We stayed in one of the non attached cabin rooms, quite private. Tony and Marcia were very attentive. The sleeping accommodations were quite nice and the breakfasts, oh my the breakfasts exquisite! I was not anticipating such gourmet breakfasts. They even had a sweet homemade treat available in the evenings. The food was excellent. All in all a very inviting family atmosphere. We plan to visit again. Teresa & Jim Sacramento

We had never stayed at a B&B before and it was a wonderful first time experience. We hope to stay there again. On our morning walk we saw a buck, a doe, and 6 wild turkeys. It is in the middle of nowhere so remember to take your dinner with you from in town.

This was a last-minute decision, to stay and a bed-and-breakfast. We were attending an event in Cloverdale, and we decided it would be nice to stay somewhere more comfortable. It was a very busy weekend, and we were fortunate to book the last room. We were exceptionally pleased with the value and comfort of the inn. Everything was absolutely perfect. The only improvement that we could recommend, would be an outdoor spa/hot tub. There was a slight scent to the towels that was unpleasant but that could also be a personal preference. overall, we enjoyed the inn so much, that we are planning to bring family for another visit. And the wine tasting was fantastic!

The Old Crocker Inn was exactly what we needed. The Inn is removed from the busy and hectic sounds of the city and situated admidst wandering deer, croaking frogs, and wild turkeys. The evening stars are memorizing as is the wonderful scent of the country. The innkeepers are friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful in determining which of the hundreds of wineries are the ones to visit when time is limited. Our breakfasts were wonderfully, and individually prepared, so the wait was well worth it. Best pancakes we've ever eaten! Beds are so comfortable and those sheets.....amazing! Would recommend this Inn to anyone.

Our stay at the Old Crocker Inn in Cloverdale, CA was a wonderful way to slow down and relax. The Inn is located close to many wonderful wineries but situated high on a hill overlooking the valley giving guests the feeling of a cabin in the woods. Our room was cozy, quiet and clean. The breakfasts were very tasty and just the right amount before we headed out for the day. In the late afternoon we could visit with other guests in the main room (sweet snacks along with coffee, tea, etc. always available) or just head back to our room and the wrap-around porch. At the end of the day the comfy bed and buttery sheets awaited us. I will be recommending the Old Crocker Inn to all my friends!

5 on October 17, 2013
We had a wonderful time at the Old Crocker Inn. We were greeted by 7 or 8 coastal blacktails after our drive up the mountain. So fair warning to drive carefully going up and down the mountain road as there are a great deal of deer in the area. The owners were great and gave us a bottle of champagne upon arrival. As well they offered dinner tips and winery tips. We enjoyed our first nights dinner at Francis Copolla where we had Salmon and Lamb. Both were excellent. The rooms were rustic but well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the bamboo sheets were out of this world! Each breakfast was wonderful and well thought out. It was more than enough to fill you for a day of wine tasting. This place is off the beaten path so don't expect to be walking to any dining or shopping. This place is perfect for those who are looking for a quiet nights rest and don't mind a bit of a drive for dinner and things. Have fun! We can't wait to come back and visit again!

Unbeatable. My wife and I spent three nights in the Canton Cottage at Old Crocker Inn in early October and we can't say enough great things about Marcia and Tony's place. The grounds were beautiful, Marcia's breakfasts were perfect, and Tony's winery recommendations were great. It was the most relaxing few days off that we have had in a long time. Thanks Marcia and Tony and we look forward to seeing you again.

The rooms were nice and the grounds were beautiful but the management could really work on their hospitality. We did not feel welcome in this bed and breakfast at all. Also make sure you arrive to your breakfast right on time, this is something that is very hard for us to do since we are on vacation and would like to enjoy our self. If you are an early riser and just want a quite place to sleep this bed and breakfast will be just fine.

If you're looking for a quiet get-a-way or even a place for celebration, this is the spot. The setting is gorgeous - quiet with deer in the lot; the rooms are all their own unique styles and very well kept; Marsha and Tony were friendly - felt just like family. Denise is a fabulous cook - she will cater to any dietary needs you have - I can't say enough about how wonderful our breakfasts were. We were on the road coming from San Francisco heading home to Oregon and only planned to stay one night, but changed our plans further up the road so we could stay TWO nights we enjoyed it so much. You won't be disappointed in the least staying here. We're already discussing a trip to go back!

The owners and staff at The Old Crocker Inn truly make you feel like guests in their home-exactly what a Bed and Breakfast is supposed to be! The food was beautifully presented and very yummy. Our room was awesome-big comfortable bed, big bathroom, great porch! Riedel wine glasses were a very nice touch...The property was very nicely landscaped-very large pool (an amenity most B&B's don't have!)-lots of places to relax under covered porches or hammocks...We can't wait to go back!!! The Old Crocker is a bit of a journey - the winding back roads, the curving hills, the elusive signposts - but it is well worth the effort. Our room, the Judah, was beautifully turned out, with period features and abundant character. The breakfasts were lavish - they may not be to everyone's taste, but there's no shortage of food - and intriguing, and after a "hard" day's wine-tasting, there was always a cake or a cookie waiting upon our return. The trump card, though, is the setting: set in rolling hills and enveloped in complete silence, the balcony, gazing out at the sunset, is the perfect place to enjoy a bottle of wine from a local vineyard. We'd go back, but there's a chance we'd never leave.

5 on August 20, 2013
We stayed in the Old Crocker Inn on August 14th and 15th, checking out on the 16th. It was fabulous! It's way up on the hillside and not on the beaten path, so to speak, but the view was wonderful, the room was lovely and very nice (Crocker Room, with the giant carved bed) and the breakfasts were delicious!!! It was nice to be up in nature rather than in the middle of everything, especially after spending time in downtown SF beforehand. Deer abound on the property! We spent a good amount of time lounging in the pool due to the hot weather and that was much appreciated amenity with many seating options and floaty toys. Breakfast was creative, delicious and lovely. I'm planning to try to make a couple of the things we had (especially the grilled peach pancakes and the breakfast margarita!), although I'm sure I will not do nearly as well as the chef! Tony and Marcia were lovely and very welcoming. The little extras (bottles of cold water and sodas, DVDs to borrow, candy in the rooms, makeup towels for facewashing, wine tasting discounts) were such a great touch. The only thing I would note: for very tall people (like my husband), the clawfoot tub and shower in the bathroom were a little challenging to navigate! Overall, everything was awesome. Two thumbs up, I would recommend and would definitely go back.

This was a very charming off the beaten path place. Rooms we're spotless, claw foot tubs, complementary water/soda/coffee/tea at any hour...homemade afternoon and evening snacks (baked by the owner on site) as well as full breakfast every morning with a variety of juices, teas, coffees. Breakfast is also made from scratch and delicious! Beds were huge, soft, and cozy and we had the best night(s) sleep there. The pool was warm and private and had full sun all day. The location is a bit secluded but in proximity to some very charming little towns such as Cloverdale. We had a very warm greeting by Tony the owner who welcomed us with wine & cheese, gave us a wonderful little tour and made sure we had everything we needed including providing us with a map of all the good places to eat with recommendations. We were very impressed and will return again some day soon. This quaint B&B really made our trip!

Old Crocker Inn is such a delightful surprise, a real old world but beautifully appointed Inn with lovely rooms. extremely well appointed and comfortable. We were made to feel welcome and at home by Marcia and Tony. The breakfast was carefully prepared and delicious, perfectly adequate for the day. The place is so peaceful and an excellent getaway. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an escape from the city and a superbly place location for Sonoma Wine country.

We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of July. I was so impressed with the location, friendliness of staff, accommodations and quality of the food. The Inn is located out of the way, set back in the woods. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful. Wish I could have stayed an entire week. All the staff members we encountered were friendly and went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable. Upon checking in, we were given a cheese & cracker tray that was enormous! Plenty for dinner. The location is great - set back away from hustle & bustle but just minutes away from the wineries on Dry Creek Road. I used a Living Social coupon for the stay, so it was an incredible deal. I highly recommend Old Crocker Inn and hope to visit again soon!

This location was the start of our touring holiday. We couldn't have chosen better. We used this area as a base for 6 nights whilst we explored Senoma, Napa and the Californian coastline. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed, and access to all the other areas made our stay seem like being part of the family. The breakfasts were outstanding and differed each day. The additional cookies and cake for the evening went well with hot drinks at the end of the evening. The owners and staff went out of their way to help us, providing us with helpful advice and recommendations. The remote setting was a great rural retreat and the area is abundant with wildlife. All in all a great stay and one I would gladly recommend to others.

We recently spent two nights at the Old Crocker Inn, while in the area for a bike race that my husband participated in. From the moment we checked in, all through the weekend and until checkout, we were treated to the ultimate in hospitality. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was super tasty and our room was very comfortable. The bed in particular was REALLY comfy! An extra bonus, was the fact that we got a wine passport to some great local wineries. We will definitly be back again....soon hopefully!

It was an all around great place. Only down side is that it is a bit out of the way about 5 miles down a windy (albeit scenic) road.

We stayed in the Huntington room for 2 nights in June and we didn't want to leave! The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic! Marcia and Tony were great hosts. There was always a variety of teas and goodies in the common area in the evenings for us to enjoy. It is off the beaten path, but that is what we enjoyed most. It is very quiet and private. We even saw deer in the meadow outside of our room! There are few places that we would consider returning to because we like to try new things, but this is one if them!

I would say I enjoyed my stay. There were probably a few too many bugs for my taste, but that's to be expected in a rustic B&B. The bed was extremely comfortable. I slept great every night I was at the inn. I was really impressed by the Breakfast. The staff prepares a new dish every morning, and they know their way around the kitchen. I will say that if you're a picky eater let them know in advance so you don't get stuck with something you won't eat, and the staff doesn't waste time cooking something that won't be eaten.

After driving through beautiful vineyard covered foothills we drove up to the ranch style Old Crocker Inn. We throughly enjoyed our night and beautifully prepared breakfast. The Babbs were wonderful hosts!

This is the 3rd BB I've stayed and this is the one I enjoyed out of the three. I loved that you offered access to a fridge, bug spray, bottle water and can soda. Wine in the evening and coffee & tea service all day.

We stayed at the Old Crocker Inn on June 14 and 15. Our room was very charming. We loved the claw footed tub/shower. THe best part, however, was the terrific breakfast each morning that filled us up for 2 days of wine tastings throughout Sonoma. OLd Crocker Inn is set on a beautiful piece of property with a family of deer roaming the grounds. This was oiur second trip here and we look forward to our return.

Stayed at Old Crocker Inn while on vacation in June of 2013. It is so beautiful and secluded. I was traveling alone, but never felt lonely! Marcia and Tony greeted me by name every time I saw them and were so helpful in recommending restaurants and wineries. Also, the morning breakfasts are amazing. Every meal was different and so delicious!
5 on June 18, 2013
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night while we were in the area for a wedding, I wish we could have stayed longer because it was fantastic! We stayed in the Clement Cottage and it was just perfect for the 2 of us (would be okay with 1 or 2 children as well, there is a couch and plenty of floor space for a sleeping bag). The room was very clean and comfortable. There is a nice pool on site and the setting is amazing! We saw deer out our window in the morning, enjoyed coffee and an amazing gourmet breakfast of poached eggs and polenta and to top it all off, the BEST blueberry crumb cake that I have EVER had! I highly recommend staying here if you are in the cloverdale/healdsburg/sonoma area. It is a bit of a hike up the road, but not too bad and is very close to many many wineries and about 15 mins from the adorable town of healdsburg with great shopping and restaurants!

Very tasty breakfast included, but without much menus and will not work for vegetarians. Fresh baked goods were delicious, coffee good, large selection of teas. Very pretty terrace, great during summer. We saw birds and seers and lizards, it was amazing! Fresh air, lots of trees. Our cottage was very charming. The website picture showed a swing at the porch and I was very disappointed not finding it present. However, comfortable patio chairs were provided.

We had a delightful stay at the inn. It is removed from the hustle of the nearby cities and winecountry, but easy access to both! Quiet place for peaceful evenings and great mornng walks. We loved all of our breakfasts, and they were a great start to a day filled visiting winerys! The staff were very friendly, gave some great advice on wineries, and nearby restaurants. We'll visit again!

Couple of days away from the office to do a little planning and I chose the right spot. The area is quiet and beautiful with vineyards covering all of the hill sides. The owners were terrific and the breakfast was the best I had in years. Definitely reccomend. Give it a try. You won't be disapointed.

My wife and I stayed in the Stanford suite and we enormously enjoyed our stay there. The Inn was located in a remote, quiet area but we still had access to wineries and restaurants nearby. We enjoyed walking around the Inn grounds and the we especially enjoyed the breakfasts. We would highly recommend to others and we plan to make a return trip soon.

We felt so lucky when we arrived to find such a wonderful retreat set in the woods with a beautiful big room that connected to a huge deck. We sat out as much as possible and saw a deer walk by in the morning. The breakfasts are the best I've had at a B and B and that's saying a lot! Staff was wonderful, we are coming back ASAP

The drive to Old Crocker is absolutely beautiful. The breakfasts were excellent, healthy and filling. My wife and I liked the fact that all of the guests we were seated separately in the enormous and beautiful dining room. We stayed in the Clement cottage which had a comfortable Queen bed and furnishings. Tony and Marcia were very sweet and great hosts.

There were some unexpected amenities, little things that made a big difference: 1. A rabbit ear corkscrew. 2. A lint brush. 3. A private patio outside the bedroom. 4. A vanity and chair in the bathroom. 5. Decent sized soap. It was the warm, friendly, helpful service that made us feel at home.

Unbelievable bed and breakfast inn. Stayed in the Golden Spike room. Breakfasts were outstanding. The Inn grounds were beautifully landscaped and colorful. Just a short trip to numerous local wineries. This was my first vacation to Sonoma County and it was excellent!

B&B is located on the side of valley overlooking Cloverdale. The building includes a wonderful common area to relax and overlook the garden and surrounding scenery. The wineries and area in general is much more laid back compared to those in Napa.

It does not get any better--gorgeous country inn with flexiblle and caring Inn Keepers. Stunning views, delicious breakfast and goodies availble round the clock. Marcia and Tony think of the little details that make this place unique. All the way from Hawaii, we could not have felt more Aloha.

the Old Crocker Inn brings history to life. The facilities, unlike 95% of B & B's, was actually designed as an Inn to accommode the rich and famous. It has been remodeled several times in excellent taste, maintaining it's original character.

Secluded, quiet, peaceful so relaxing! The drive along the winding road was exciting and were we in for a treat! Driving in we saw deer along the roadside grazing, we knew this was going to be wonderful. The wrap around deck leading to all rooms overlooks the mountains which are amazing. The sunset was beautiful as we sat outside our room enjoying a glass of wine. The beds were so comfortable and the claw foot bath was a treat. Each morning before breakfast we ventured out for our morning walk. The breakfast was delicious as we sat talking with other guests. We are so happy to have found this little piece of heaven. Marcia the owner was so helpful with things to do on our way to the Inn from San Francisco! We were able to do things that would have cost us much more time later in our trip so thank you Marcia! You will NOT be disappointed!

My husband and I did not stay with you, however we did treat my Son and Daughter-in law to a one night stay. They were thrilled. It was the first day that had a vacation together without their five year old daughter in---well, five years. They returned home looking 10 years younger. The beauty of the setting and the surprise of meeting friends also staying with you made the visit more than special. We had heard about you from friends who raved about the restful stay they experienced. We are anticipating a booking for ourselves and meanwhile have recommended your Inn to others. As soon as our taxes are done......Thanks for taking such good care of our family. Penny and Don Tomasello

Awesome little vacation.

We had a pleasurable evening at this bed and breakfast. Breakfast was very nice. Room was clean, cozy and the fireplace was a very nice touch to the room. After touring the Wineries in search for our favorite sweet wines we were unable to find one. As we reached the place for check-in we asked the the lady that checked us in, if she knew any place that would sell a port or late harvest, but because it was already late she offered one of her own wines. This gesture really impressed me that she went to these lengths to help us have a nice evening. I am recommending this place and would go there again.

Feel like you are staying in a true one-of-a-kind bed-n-breakfast, above the maddening crowd in Sonoma and Napa, but still in picturesque wine country. So much history associated with the Old Crocker Inn. Every convenience, all details covered, nothing missed.

The inn is very out of the way, but worth the drive. It looks a little rough on the outside, but is every charming and very comfortable and clean. It also had a lot of little touches you find only in luxury hotels, including something we've never seen before - a scrunchy scrub pad. Tony and Marsha are the hosts and they are delightful. Breakfast was outstanding, full of surprises. We will definitely stay there again when in the neighborhood.

We loved our stay, although short. We brought our dog and stayed in Jupiter. Very quaint and romantic. We would stay again since I thought it was a good deal. It is a little far from town so it's somewhat of a hike to local restaurants, especially with rain! The breakfast was not the best, in fact I didn't want to finish it. The scones were excellent but quiche and potatoes were not. Overall a great place to stay.

We loved out stay at the Old Crocker Inn. We purchased a livingsocial deal and it exceeded our expectations. Wonderful and lovely inn keepers. They were always friendly to talk to through our stay and helpful to make our trip a good experience! There were so many little things they do to make it extra special...fresh flowers in your room, warm freshly baked snack at night, movies to watch during your stay, and lots of other little treats. It is definitely out in the country and away from other things to do, but beautiful grounds to stay on! We hope to be back!

Old Crocker Inn offers a retreat central to Napa/Sonoma/Mendocino wine country appellations, where you can relax by a pool in summer, ride bikes along back country roads or enjoy privacy surrounded by the quiet rural setting. You'll likely see hawks, bulteos, quail, deer, plus owls and the occasional coyote at night. The night sky is dark here and constellations and planets are brilliant without the distraction of city light. Rooms are comfortable and offer wi-fi. Cell phone reception excellent if you need it. The staff is very helpful, friendly and accomodating. We are already making plans to return.

My daughter and I planned a birthday get-away to celebrate her 28th...she found information on Living Social about Old Crocker Inn, I made the reservations and we just came back from our special weekend. Tony and Marcia were so friendly, the room just as I had pictured and even though it rained all weekend, we made the best of it. The fireplace kept the room cozy and after hot baths in the huge tub, we would sit out on the covered deck listening to the rain, chatting and drinking wine. We had in-room massages the evening we arrived which set the tone for the entire weekend...relaxation was our goal. The bed was beyond comfortable; one entry in the room journal mentioned it was like sleeping on a cloud and we agree! The breakfasts were the best, the location very scenic and we were greeted by deer on each drive in. We would highly recommend Old Crocker Inn!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon when staying at the Old Crocker Inn. We had a wonderful time there. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and just like the pictures. Marcia and Tony were very nice and accomodating, especially when you make a special request a day into your stay! The grounds were stunningly beautiful and peaceful. And the food was amazing. Each day we were presented with a unique and delicious breakfast that just blew us away. We can never thank them enough for helping us have a wonderful stay, but we can and will, go back to stay with them again.

I stayed two nights at the Old Crocker Inn, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so relaxing high up over the Sonoma Valley floor in the hills with views over fields. The room was immaculate and service was most generous. The Old Crocker Inn is a wonderful place to getaway for a relaxing time and learn a bit of history while exploring the vineyards or redwood groves of this wonderful part of California. It is highly recommended.

We spent a wonderful 4 days at the inn in mid September. The location was somewhat secluded (which we expected) and very quiet and relaxing. The room was nicely furnished to reflect the historical nature of the property and the bathroom was one of the best. The three or four course breakfasts were fresh, creative and delicious. Our hosts were helpful, pleasant and conversational. Lots of wildlife and humming birds were everywhere. If we are fortunate to visit California again we'll certainly be back to the Old Crocker Inn. My husband and I stayed for several nights at the Old Crocker Inn to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. 4 of us stayed at the Inn last Thurs. We made last minute plans, so many places were booked. As we looked for availability & good pricing we found this & thought we'd give it a try. The night we were there we were the only guests. Unfortunately for us they were booked the following nights. The Inn is a little off the beaten path, but easy to get to. Tony & Marcia own & run the place. We were in the Clement room It was cozy & comfortable & had comfy robes & the amenities we needed. After dinner in Cloverdale we came back to the dining room with a bottle of wine. Tony joined us briefly & told us a little about the place. There was fresh banana bread out for a late evening snack. The fresh scones, berries, & homemade egg, avacado & salmon crepes the next morning were delicious. We were sorry we didn't have another day there. The weather was beautiful and we could have easily spent a day being lazy by the pool. We also would have liked to do some walking in the area, but didn't have time. Our friends & us said we would definitely like to go back there. Everything was clean, rooms were spacious, the grounds were gorgeous & the service was friendly. We could easily see going with a whole group & booking all the rooms. The owners mentioned people had done this in the past & even allowed the group to do some of their own cooking. A great setting for a wedding or group event. If you stay here try to plan some time to spend on the grounds. The decks & porches are so peaceful with beautiful views. If the weather is warm the pool area is nice. If you're looking for something casual & rustic then definitely try this place out. I know we'll be going back!

This place was secluded and quiet - away from all the crowds in the wine country, but yet close enough to go enjoy all the area has to offer. The Inn along with the people that worked there were very hospitable and a pleasure to talk to. If you don't want to do the "disney land" version of the wine country, i recommend you stay here.

The Old Crocker Inn was beautiful. It is feels secluded and quiet. We stayed in the Jupiter cottage and the room was comfortable and clean. They had lots of movie DVDs to choose from and a TV and DVD player in the room. There were also board games and other past times to choose from. The pool was a short walk away from the cottages and lodge, which made it feel very private. There were often a doe and her two fawns roaming around the gardens munching on the shrubbery and flowers. The couple that runs the BnB were great! Breakfast was good. They don't really offer options - they offered one main course - but were easy about changing it a little when asked. The only drawback (I didn't think it was as big of a drawback as my husband did) was how far it was from the closest town. There is actually a sign as you're getting close to the Inn saying "don't despair, you're almost there"! It was about a 20 minute drive to town. But in town, there was an Italian restaurant called Diavola Pizzeria & Salumeria. It was probably the best Italian meal I've ever had. So that was a plus! I would definitely recommend the Old Crocker Inn! It was totally worth the money. Plus, they are a participant in the wine passport thing that gets you 2 free tastings at over 120 local wineries. Saved us a lot in tasting fees.
4.8 on August 29, 2012
The room was fabulous, the highlight being the sheets and to a barely lesser degree the bed. I think they were a million count! The couple who owns/runs it is fabulous. The grounds are everything they advertised: great pool, deer roaming around and plenty of stars at night. We wanted for nothing. We would definitely stay there again.

Quiet place, nice, comfortable and clean rooms. Owners were very friendly and helpful. According the pictures I expected better view over the valley but trees have grown to much. A pitty because would certainly be a plus. Some pool furniture needs replacement. Water was not very clean. Pool is certainly a plus but needs maintenance.

This old hunting lodge has been restored to a charming and very comfortable retreat on spacious property surrounded by woodlands. The Stanford Room and its private bath/shower is in the main house, had ample space with a comfortable sitting area. and small wall mounted TV. It was well-appointed with plush robes, pool towels, wine glasses, corkscrew, a blow dryer, and environmental friendly bath products. A wall air conditioner and overhead fan provided sufficient cooling. Main house rooms have relatively private use of shaded wrap-around deck with sofa and dining seating. Ice machine is off the lobby as is a much too small mini fridge for guest use. Host Tony stayed in the background, while his wife Marcia cooked and served up fabulous breakfasts enjoyed both inside their large dining room and on the sunny deck. Marcia also provided helpful restaurant and wine tasting suggestions upon request. Pool provided a welcome relief from the heat, but could use a bit of cosmetic maintenance. Rooms are cleaned and bed is made daily but sheets and towels are not changed unless you request; the Inn follows earth friendly practices. Bed linen was ultra soft microfiber plus down comforters. Our only cautionary note is if you have back problems request a room with a firm bed as ours was too soft and brought on twinges in my husband's back.. I do highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet "retreat".

We were interested in live music, and they directed us to Friday Night Live and the Farmer's Market in the heart of downtown Cloverdale. What a blast! Great food was offered by local catering companies. Our room was so charming, clean and well-appointed with a very comfy bed. We slept like rocks We loved our own little front porch! This is the first bed and breakfast that my husband and I have ever been too. We recently did a 2 week trip touring northern California and stayed at many bed and breakfasts. Everyone that we went too, other than yours, was horrible experience for us. But yours was by far no comparison to any other place. Everything about our stay there was wonderful!!!! The value of it was perfect for us. If you would have charged much more we would not have been able to afford to go, but we are so grateful that your place was within our budget. We loved the fact that our breakfast was in an open area, at a time that we picked, not sitting with other people, and June our breakfast host was the most hospitable person. She was extremely friendly and so helpful. If we had any questions she was more than willing to answer them for us while still doing her job. She had a wonderful personality. We loved our room. It was extremely clean and that bed was so comfortable!!! I now have to buy one like it. We loved how peaceful the area was. We come from a very busy and hectic lifestyle and we were so in need of rest and peace and we got that. We had our anniversary there and if we ever get the chance to come back we will for sure pick your place and I have already started to recommend it to some of my friends so that they may get the opportunity to spend some time there and get to experience what we were able to. I am sure that the deer could be annoying to a gardener but waking up to them right by our front porch was a magical experience. you have created the best bed and breakfast ever and we thank you so much for everything and the way that you have set things up were perfect. Thank you for everything and please tell June thank you.. John and Hailey Gibbons

The Old Crocker Inn is a secluded retreat in the wooded hills in the wine country. The setting was peaceful and relaxing, especially at night when it was really quiet and cool outside. I enjoyed seeing the deer as they nearly came up to my cottage. The cottage (Golden Spike) was rustic, yet it was luxuriously appointed. The bed and sheets were extremely comfortable. The room was very clean. Although I was not impressed with the television and the way you had to work the various remote controls and such to watch a dvd and various tv stations. It was awkward. The owners (Tony and Marcia) were extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were exquisite. though I didn't use the pool, it looked very inviting. Overall, staying at the Old Crocker Inn was a wonderful experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Crocker Inn. Our cottage was beautiful, with cozy beds with down comforters. The setting was secluded and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and filling, with excellent coffee. Unfortunately, we had to leave right after breakfast; we would have loved to linger on the front porch, or the patio of our cottage. We highly recommend this inn.

We stayed here two nights and overall it was a nice stay. The room was definitely the best part. We had the Stanford room and it was very nicely decorated without being over-the-top with lace and flowers like so many wine country B&Bs. Our room and bathroom were super clean and everything was up-to-date and working. And the bed was SO comfortable! The only things that were not so great were 1) the food and 2) the hosts :-( The first breakfast (southwestern frittata) was pretty good, but mushy. And the second breakfast (quiche with potatoes and baked tomatoes) was not good at all. It all seemed like it had been sitting out waiting to be brought to our table. The crust was mushy and the potatoes were cold. And the whole breakfast experience felt very rushed - like they couldn't wait for us to finish and get out of the dining room. And re: the hosts: they didn't really have a good sense of general hospitality or overall "customer service". Their words and actions were all very perfunctory and it didn't feel like they actually enjoyed having people around. And there is a lot to be said for how you present yourself in relation to how people feel in your presence - meaning the clothes you wear and if they're clean or not, if you smile or not, if you know how to engage with people, etc. - and when you are running an establishment where you want people to be comfortable in your presence these are things that should be important!

my girls and I celebrated one of my daughter's 30th Birthday--it was perfect in all respects, both Corocker Inn and all the activities that are in close proximity-cooking class, wine tasting, fabulous resturant and great breakfast at the Inn.

Beautiful grounds overlooking Alexander Valley. You feel the history there in comfortable surroundings. The lodge and cottages provide privacy and also bring people together from all over the world. As SF natives, we enjoyed talking with people from NY and England. We would highly recommend a stay there.

I just spent a few days in paradise. My son and I went to Old Crocker Inn for some wine tasting without the hype and it was even better than I expected from the web site.Situated high above Alexander Valley amid the hummingbirds and fawn we spent a comfy long weekend in our lovely cottage. The setting is casual and natural but very clean and the food was fabulous. Breakfast on the porch each morning (one morning polenta and poached eggs, another fritatta and fresh scones) couldn't have been better. I highly recommend this place. Well worth the drive. Love the secluded feel of the Old Crocker Inn. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. However, the property feels old (it is!) and needs to be renovated. Also, there are cobwebs everywhere -- the place is is need of a thorough deep cleaning.

Great time at the OLD CROCKER INN- rooms immaculate, grounds very tranquil, staff very kind and attentive and breakfast is gourmet!

My latest stay was my fifth or sixth in the past few years. I live in the bay area and enjoy taking out-of-area friends to this special place as part of wine tasting weekends. The helpful staff, unique period rooms, gourmet breakfast and peaceful location makes staying here very gracious and relaxing. This is a must-do for thoroughly enjoying the northern California wine culture.

The old Crocker inn is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a serene, quiet retreat. We visited San Francisco and traveled to Sonoma county for a few days and it was a great way to end our vacation. We felt so refreshed and the staff was so helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious each morning and the views are incredible!! We would love to return one day and recommend to others to stay there.

Lovely room, fantastic bed. We both slept over 10 hours each night. A beautiful setting for those who want to get away from it all--but it is somewhat remote. Nice amenities in room -- bathrobes, toilettries, gas fireplace, t.v. and dvd player. Convenient to wine country and very competitive with prices in Healdsburg and Sonoma.

We bought a Living Social deal for the Old Crocker Inn. We went without any expectations and we were pleasantly surprised! The cabins are adorable and very comfortable. Some of their cabins are dog-friendly so we were able to bring our 'kids'. There is amazing hiking within driving distance and of course all the wineries made it so there was not a lack of things to do. The service was so personable, we felt like family. The breakfasts were hearty and elegant. They made sure we were full! We will definitely be coming back and bringing more people with us.

Loved this B&B! Old Crocker Inn is just charming and the Inn Keepers just bent over backward to make us happy. I also had a mishap while in Muir Woods. As it turned out I broke my foot. Marcia was SO helpful finding us an urgent care clinic. Also, the breakfasts were out of this world! No need to stop for lunch after those amazing breakfasts. We were good until dinner time.

We had 9 people in our party that stayed at the Old Crocker Inn. We had a variety of rooms and all were very spacious and comfortable for our 4 night stay. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The pool area was large and welcoming. Our breakfasts were delicious and varied each day. The inn keepers went out of their way 1 morning to serve us an early breakfast since we had a tour waiting for us that began early. Our hosts also recommended a few good restaurants for us as well as a great bakery to order a birthday cake. My husband and I also enjoyed a couple's massage in our cottage that was arranged by the hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Inn to all who go to the Sonoma area.

Marcia and her staff were the best of hosts and made us feel very comfortable.

What a find. The Old Crocker Inn is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. After each day of wine tasting and dinner we were so surprised to find a home made treat in the dinning room. And was it ever good! We all slept like logs and loved the morning breakfast at our leisure. We will be back.

We took our yellow lab and he had a great time too. The Old Crocker Inn was an excellent find. We stayed 2 nights there while visiting our daughter in Cloverdale. It is located up in the hills and offers a secluded feeling whil being only a few miles away from the main highway. It was outstanding. The rooms were comfortable and the decor was very relaxing. The large dining room with a wonderful view of the surrounding area is magnificent. The breakfasts were excellent. First morning was poached eggs over polenta and the second was Belgium waffles. The host were very friendly and accommodating. I would heartily recommend the Old Crocker Inn to anyone wanting a out of the way country stay.

this was our 3rd time at old crocker and we'll certainly be back. nothing has been overlooked: the rooms are perfectly appointed, multi-course breakfast is always amazing. the only possible downside is that the b+b is a little out of the way in the winter months when the bridge is closed and you're looking to head south of town. but the added bit of driving isn't worth picking a different place to stay -- this is it!

From the moment we arrived, everything about the Old Crocker Inn was perfect. The views are gorgeous, the food amazing, and the service warm and helpful. I can't say enough about this place! The room (we stayed in the crocker room) was impecable, warm and cozy, beautifully furnished - just a delight. There were snacks (both healthy and decadent) available at all times. The breakfast was one of the best meals either of us had ever had. A wide selection of videos were left out for anyone to watch. And to top it off, we were given coupons for free tastings at vineyards throughout the area. The Old Crocker Inn is worth every cent and then some! I can guarantee that the next time we come to wine country, we'll be staying there again.

My partner and I stayed at Old Crocker Inn this past weekend, and I honestly cried in the parking lot when it was time to leave! Quaint, beautiful, and quiet, this B&B is a place where you can really, truly relax. (You really have no choice to). Marcia and Tony are wonderful hosts. They not only accommodated our dietary requests but exceeded our expectations with two delicious and thoughtful breakfasts. Coffee and wine was also abound, and much appreciated. We also loved the relaxed atmosphere of being able to come in and out of the lodge as you pleased. The bed was fluffy and cozy. We also were thankful for the wifi, DVD library, and cable TV! When outside, we loved sitting on the deck and watching for deer! On top of all of this, it was very reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back to Old Crocker Inn. Clay - San Francisco

I would recommend the Old Crocker Inn to anyone looking for a stay to place. Thanks for a wonderful trip and stay. -Kristin

Overall, a top quality B&B with outstanding breakfast but we experienced some minor inconveniences: the door of the room was opened (to the outside) when we came in at 10pm, Wi-Fi did not work in the rooms and was very slow in the lobby. Location is not necessarily ideal for those who are just looking for a one-night stop as it is a few miles from town and difficult to reach and find at night.

We were referred to Old Crocker Inn by locals. We spent 8 days in the wine country and this location was perfect. We loved that it was quiet and relaxing and casual. We slept late for the first ime in months. Our room was spotless and had all the extras . The views were breathtaking and there were wild turkeys, quail, rabbits and wild birds on the grounds. Marcia and Tony were helpful and pleasant. The breakfasts were delicious and were better than other B &B 's we stayed at. The location was at the top of a big hill and a lot of twisties and turns but worth it. What a unique place! We will definitely stay here again next trip. If you want a unique B&B -this is it! I was sad to leave. (by the way- I am very picky about where I stay)

The Old Crocker Inn was exactly what we needed! A private, comfortable, relaxing place to get away from our hectic, everyday life. It is rustic but clean and comfy, with nice touches to make it feel special. So refreshing after a long drive, the inn was just the experience I was dreaming of. Thank you Tony and Marica for making my stay the best.

We've been going to Alexander Valley for years, and never got around to staying at the Old Crocker Inn until Sept. 2011. What took us so long??!! We were so impressed with the beautiful, serene setting and the gorgeously appointed historic rooms. We spent many hours enjoying the wrap around deck & swimming pool, and were even allowed to grill our own tri-tip dinner one night while taking in the beautiful sunset. The breakfasts were superb and the service both welcoming and attentive. We'll be back again and again!

The Old Crocker Inn was a great place to stay. Many more ammenities than most B & B's. Rustic yet very comfortable. Not much to do in Cloverdale but make the short drive to Healdsburg and enjoy that town. Plenty of wineries around this area. Much less hectic than the Napa Valley area.

It's always hard to tell about a place from a picture on a website, and I'll have to admit that Old Crocker Inn is so remote that it gave me a moment of pause when I drove onto the property, but it's truly a great place to stay. Quiet, relaxing, tranquil....and a little bit rustic. A nice blend and a great experience. The breakfast was wonderful - if you could make yourself get out of an incredibly comfortable bed with the best sheets that I've ever slept on! Very helpful staff that led us to a great dining experience in Geyserville. I'd definitely recommend staying at the old Crocker Inn.

We stayed at the Old Crocker Inn only for 1 night because they were fully booked. I wished we had more time there. The place is absolutely beautiful. Even the road to get there makes you feel you are going to stay in a very special place. Our room (Judah) was perfect, clean, tastefully decorated and spacious. Every detailed was taken care of. Service couldn't have been better. People working there try their best to make you feel at home. Breakfast is very good, everything home made. They even have cake for tea time served at the restaurant in case you get hungry! The views from the ranch are great as well. I strongly recommend this Inn! Only thing to point out is that you are a little far from villages and restaurants if that's what you want. It's a challenging drive coming back at night.

This is a special place for a getaway. I was first struck by the quiet and the country views. Then unexpectedly surprised by the decor of the main lobby and my room with its huge four poster bed. Though it is a B & B, there is a strong feeling of privacy as each room opens out onto the surrounding deck and into the central courtyard. The pool is located away from the building, in another quiet oasis. Tony and Marcia were wonderful hosts, present but unobtrusive and very knowledgeable about the area (wineries, etc). Their breakfasts were elegant! Obviously I would and will return.

The Inn is certainly out of the way, but that is one of its charms. It is very quiet, very serene and a lovely spot. The innkeepers are very helpful if you need any information about the local area. The rooms are nicely appointed with antiques and four-poster beds. The wrap-around deck affords some wonderful views of the valley below and the pool area is away from the main house and quite large. All-in-all, highly recommended.

For a first-time B&B-er, I can't say that I can compare this experience to any other. But, I think I was sold at the unlimited teas, coffees, and evening confections. The staff-persons at OCI are lovely and hospitable and the rooms are well-furnished with towels and amenities. I loved the swimming pool and the inn's tucked-away location, too. I chose OCI because my friend raved about the breakfast, which I found delicious but not excessively amazing. Yet, from what I understand in terms of price and friendliness, the inn is a great deal and worth coming back to next season.

The rooms were nice, and the food was delicious. However, we felt the photos provided on the web were a little misleading. We thought we would see vineyards from the patio outside of our room. Instead, we saw a road. That's another thing. We thought we were out in the country away from most civilization. However, we were at the foothill surrounded by a neighborhood. In California, the cool weather requires open windows for ventilation. We had our windows open and could hear cars driving down the road all night.

We have have stayed at many B&Bs and this one is as close to perfect as possible. The setting is beautiful, wonderful hosts, and a lovely room. On our current trip to CA, everything went wrong except our stay at the Older Crocker Inn. I cannot say enough nice things about our hosts. They were friendly, kind and accommodating. They could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely room. The coffee was great and plentiful. There is tremendous attention to every detail at this B&B. The sheets were soft and the bed was very comfortable. Even the basket of soaps and lotions in the room was special. There was a vast collection of DVDs for us and delicious cake and snacks in the main room. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer but we definitely hope to return. You cannot go wrong staying at this B&B. Eileen and Mike Beard

My name is mary Boe Zink Rickards. My Brother-in-law,Bob Overdeck, was Manager for Jack and Patty Black..My horses ran free over all the achers and My older sister would drive up the main road and honk the horn. The horses would then come running over the hills and my friend Shirley Love and myself woul jump on our horses with Bailing rope for bridal or nothing at all...kick them and they would head for the barn. My sister would take the guest on trail rides and my brother-in-Law put on the rodeos. We would sometimes pack a lunch and ride up over the hills and have a weiner roast up on top.My best memories...Of course my horse was also a Palomino...and I carried a Palamio Lakes Flag in the Parade and Rodao,We will be up camping the last week in June at the Koa...We will stop by and say "HI".My sister will be with us and we will bring pics.We stay in touch with the Black children.Seeing this site sure brings back fond memories.

The inn is a lovely rambling building on a knoll looking out over the Alexander Valley. Our room had a gorgeous view (as advertised on the website), was larger than I expected, nicely appointed and had a super comfortable bed and bedding. The only thing I would have preferred to be different would be to have really good coffee (they served conventional over-diluted coffee, a reminder of the bad pre-Starbucks days in the US), and less fussy breakfast food: just fresh fruit, bread/muffins, and perhaps some cheese along with jam would have sufficed and would be healthier and in my view much nicer than the "B&B menu" of fritattas etc.
We appreciate getting feedback from guests and would like to respond to two of the comments. The coffee we serve at breakfast comes from a popular local company with a Fair Trade policy, its own roasting facility, and an extensive selection of coffees. Given the diversity in personal tastes, we use a moderately strong, full flavored variety that usually generates compliments. We regret that it was not pleasing and hope that future guests will let us know at the time. People who stay in B&Bs know that the menu is set but we do accommodate dietary restrictions and special needs. We use local produce and healthy recipes as much as possible. When guests check in, we ask if there are any foods they can’t or don’t eat so that we can prepare them a suitable meal. In addition,if we see that a guest isn’t eating in the morning, we offer something else. We don’t want anyone to leave hungry.

A very comfortable place to spend a few cold, sometimes wet, nights. Off the beaten path and tucked away in beautiful hills, we had a great time driving through and seeing the vineyards and homes along the Russian River. Marcia and Tony were the best hosts and cooks, and they've got a pretty decent DVD collection for post-wine-tasting viewing. All-in-all a great stay, we plan on returning during another slow season.

The relaxation started for me as soon as I pull off the 101 winding along the East side of the valley with great views of the vineyards around every corner. Upon arrival I was greeted by Tony who showed me to my charming room; it was a good size with a fire place and a big Jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was tasty and filling. I had a great stay and will recommend it to my friends and family.

One of the best B&Bs: the scenery, the food, hosts/innkeepers, amenities!
4.2 on November 12, 2010
The B&B is located on the hills above the Alexander Valley in one of the premier cabernet wine valleys in the world. Several of our all time favorite wineries are within 15 minutes of the B&B. The history of the ranch and lodge site are fascinating revolving around the San Francisco railroad barons- Crocker, Stanford, Huntington and Hopkins. We stayed in the Huntington room which had a wonderfully comfortable 4 poster King bed, gas fireplace, private claw foot bath with shower and views of the hills across the valley. The wine reception with apple cake in the evening was excellent. The room included breakfast and was delightful with two Belgium waffles, fruit, fresh juice and fruit smoothies! Tony and Marcia had a special Veterans Day (Nov. 11) discount to honor vets which we were lucky enough to take advantage of for one night. We hope to return for a lengthier stay.

A family business, beautiful rooms, fair prices & delicious breakfast. Wonderful service, fun festivities in the newly renovated barn. Seems to be on top of the world in another world.

The location and setting were wonderful, you felt like you were in another time. The rooms were inviting and cozy but modern enough for a younger couple. The breakfast and evening snacks were delicious. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

When we selected the Old Crocker Inn, we were looking for a bed and breakfast that was highly rated and not in the heart of hectic tourism. We found it to be all we desired. The room was charming, the breakfasts fantastic and the staff warm and welcoming. Now we highly recommend it to others.

The Old Crocker Inn is a charming old ranch located in the beautiful hills above Cloverdale, CA. The buildings feature high ceilings and deep wrap-around porches. Beautiful rooms and great food.

The inn was not quite what we expected from what we saw online. It was busy, but our room was private and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and thought breakfast was tasty.

An inspirational resting place in the hills overlooking oak woodlands with vineyards laced between. The beds are large and comfy and the breakfasts a delight, the birds a pleasant chorus. A good resting spot.

We first found this place when it was just coming back into use as a inn. We've stayed there 5-6 times since. Not so much recently due to the economy. :( Our favorite is the Canton Cottage. No common walls and you're off by yourself a bit. The gas fireplace/heater works great, as does the A/C in the summer. You can take a dip in the pool if you're hanging around during the day. The have a hot tub but we've never used it. We've seen wild pigs and turkeys and deer on the property. The tree frogs will serenade you to sleep at night. My only complaint is, it's quite a drive to get to the inn. And you're on twisty, winding country roads. It's not so bad when the summer bridge is open but during the off-season it's quite a trek.

Old Crocker Inn has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. You can truly get away from it all and recharge. We highly recommend this Inn.

My husband and I stayed for our 10 year anniversary in the 'Crocker room'. Pictures do not do it justice. So many personal touches that make you feel at home. The view from our porch was breathtaking. The grounds are quiet and relaxing. The food was exceptional. I highly recommend staying here. It was worth every penny. Thank you to Tony and Marcie for their hard work and hospitality.

The innkeepers, the Babbs, were very knowledgeable about the area. More importantly, they cared about our having a good experience and went out of their way to provide good advice and support.

Old Crocker Inn is on a forested hill overlooking acres of Sonoma, co. vineyards. The owners were like kind parents, and the 3-course breakfast was first rate. Great location for wine tasting or just relaxing.

Winter rates make this lodge affordable. Lovely room but uncomfortable Victorian love seat -- on a rainy day "hard" to sit and read. Good fake fireplace made the room warm, unlike lobby & dining room, which were chilly. Mr. Innkeeper served us in truly dirty sweatshirt and sloppy jeans with grouchy demeanor -- Mrs. I. pleasant and accommodating.

remote, beautiful, quiet and relaxing...it was terrific! We loved sitting in the lodge or on the beautiful deck and just visiting. We also loved wine tasting excursions.

This is a special place. The grounds are gorgeous, the inn keepers are wonderful and breakfast is amazing. The homey atmosphere and incredibly fresh air make this inn refreshing, relaxing and perfect. Easy access to wineries and hotsprings, but who wants to leave the Inn?

Tucked away in the hills north of Healdsburg is this rustic yet refined B&B. Within a pleasant drive of dozens of wineries, the romantic getaway provides stunning views, luxurious accommodations and spectacular breakfasts. There are so many good things to say, it's hard to know where to start! Clean rooms, cozy decor, and the best breakfasts I've ever had. Marcie;s scones are unparalleled! Would definitely stay here again.

While the inn is a little out of the way, it is definitely worth the trip. A rustic inn in a very quite, peaceful setting with beautiful views. During our short stay here we saw both wild turkeys and quail strolling the grounds! Tony and Marcia were wonderful hosts.

Marcia, Tony and Treavor are 'class acts'. They are hospitable, friendly and have an awesome location and inn. Our group (5 couples) have enjoyed their hospitality twice and plan to return, again, next year. The experience just could not be better!

My husband reserved a cabin for us at the inn for my birthday weekend. the staff were so friendly and attentive and no detail was spared for our comfort. In the lodge, there were always refreshments available, including cold wine, hot coffee, teas, and various pastries. We thoroughly njoyed our room, jacuzzi, the plush robes, and sleeping under a feather comforter. One night we lay in the hammock and watched the moon and stars overhead. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast on the balcony. I will definitely return!

Small, private, romantic getaway located 1.5 hrs N of SF; just off 101. Owner & staff welcoming and helpful. Hearty, creative and tasty breakfasts served at 8:30, 9 or 9:30 [you choose]. Guest fridge, water & snacks available 24/7. Clean, well-maintained facilities w/variety of lodging options in the main building [5 rooms] or 3 outbuildings permit either privacy or interaction w/other guests. Large, deep clean pool with comfortable furniture & umbrellas is inviting. Historic property on Sonoma Co. hillside above Alexander Valley facing west, about halfway between Cloverdale and Geyserville. Towns have enough dinner options to last 4 – 5 nights, with menus available to review at the Inn. More options available in Healdsburg, some 15 miles south. Plenty of wineries to visit nearby during the daytime, including Cellar8 [formerly the historic Italian Swiss Colony] right off the Asti Rd freeway exit. Easy access to Russian River just below the property. We stayed in the Crocker room in the main lodge, which is the most secluded, since it is at the far end of the wrap-around porch. The Crocker corner has large windows facing south and smaller windows on the corner facing west to watch the sun and moon set over the far ridges. Down below, the Alexander Valley is completely covered in grape vines. Sitting chairs and table with chairs on the wide porch complete the immediate outdoors. Inside, a massive four-poster king bed is the centerpiece of this high-ceilinged room. Period furniture pieces, including armoire, are complemented by modern gas fireplace and TV w/DVD/VHS player. Interior doors in each of the main rooms permit easy access to the central dining room.

Old Crocker Inn is a highly recommended dog-friendly bed and breakfast in Alexander Valley. Loved the location. The inn is tucked in the hills of Cloverdale within 30 minutes to the vineyards in Healdsburg and Geyserville. Very quiet and secluded. And very beautiful. Perfect location if you wish to spend a weekend in wine country. Alexander valley is an excellent alternative to the busier and touristier Sonoma and Napa Valley. Loved the breakfast. The blueberry and apple-cinnamon-walnut scones were AMAZING. The artichoke-sundried-tomato quiche with chicken apple sausage was very TASTY. And they have a wide selection of tea and beverages that are complimentary all throughout the day. The chocolate chip bundt cake they had the evening we stayed was EXCELLENT. Loved the hospitality. Marcia and Tony were AMAZING and friendly hosts. They make sure that you have everything you need to make your stay at their inn much more enjoyable. Loved the room. Loved the bed. The king-size bed in the Jupiter was very comfortable. Loved the spacious bathroom and the soft towels. And finally, loved that this AMAZING inn is very very dog-friendly. Stanford, our adorable corgi had a great time walking in the meadow and the trails. We highly recommend this wonderful place. And I almost forgot to mention that it is very reasonably priced. We will definitely come back to stay here again.
