Old Crocker Inn

We felt so lucky when we arrived to find such a wonderful retreat set in the woods with a beautiful big room that connected to a huge deck. We sat out as much as possible and saw a deer walk by in the morning. The breakfasts are the best I've had at a B and B and that's saying a lot! Staff was wonderful, we are coming back ASAP

There were some unexpected amenities, little things that made a big difference: 1. A rabbit ear corkscrew. 2. A lint brush. 3. A private patio outside the bedroom. 4. A vanity and chair in the bathroom. 5. Decent sized soap. It was the warm, friendly, helpful service that made us feel at home.

We love the quietness of our stay. we can drive to many fun places and return to the peace and quiet of the Crocker!

B&B is located on the side of valley overlooking Cloverdale. The building includes a wonderful common area to relax and overlook the garden and surrounding scenery. The wineries and area in general is much more laid back compared to those in Napa.

It does not get any better--gorgeous country inn with flexiblle and caring Inn Keepers. Stunning views, delicious breakfast and goodies availble round the clock. Marcia and Tony think of the little details that make this place unique. All the way from Hawaii, we could not have felt more Aloha.

Spent a couple of nights in the Canton room. In is located in the hills and is very quiet. Innkeeper provided excellent advice for area wine tasting and dining. Would go again.

We stayed in one of their cottages. The space was lovely and it allowed us to bring our two dogs. Not only was the room cozy with a gorgeous fireplace but it was beautifully decorated. The dogs could run freely about making our stay that much more enjoyable. The breakfast was homemade, the location was quiet and peaceful and the owner was very kind. We hope to go back one day!!

the Old Crocker Inn brings history to life. The facilities, unlike 95% of B & B's, was actually designed as an Inn to accommode the rich and famous. It has been remodeled several times in excellent taste, maintaining it's original character.

Secluded, quiet, peaceful so relaxing! The drive along the winding road was exciting and were we in for a treat! Driving in we saw deer along the roadside grazing, we knew this was going to be wonderful. The wrap around deck leading to all rooms overlooks the mountains which are amazing. The sunset was beautiful as we sat outside our room enjoying a glass of wine. The beds were so comfortable and the claw foot bath was a treat. Each morning before breakfast we ventured out for our morning walk. The breakfast was delicious as we sat talking with other guests. We are so happy to have found this little piece of heaven. Marcia the owner was so helpful with things to do on our way to the Inn from San Francisco! We were able to do things that would have cost us much more time later in our trip so thank you Marcia! You will NOT be disappointed!

We stayed here with our 3 young kids, in the Canton Cottage. It was spacious, and nice to be apart from the other rooms. The breakfast was awesome! The staff were kind and patient with our kids and the owner was very nice as well! We came for the Citrus Fair and it was a nice drive out to the inn after a long day at the fair! Awesome little vacation.

Amazing place, tucked away. You're a bit in seclusion so it's so relaxing. Service, food and rooms were outstanding! Can't wait to go back!

We had a pleasurable evening at this bed and breakfast. Breakfast was very nice. Room was clean, cozy and the fireplace was a very nice touch to the room. After touring the Wineries in search for our favorite sweet wines we were unable to find one. As we reached the place for check-in we asked the the lady that checked us in, if she knew any place that would sell a port or late harvest, but because it was already late she offered one of her own wines. This gesture really impressed me that she went to these lengths to help us have a nice evening. I am recommending this place and would go there again.

Marcia and Tony are such gracious hosts. We felt very welcome and our stay was most enjoyable. Breakfast every morning was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The bed in the Crocker room is stupendous (and comfortable), and a fitting venue to celebrate our 40 years of wedded bliss. Can't wait to return for another visit!

Feel like you are staying in a true one-of-a-kind bed-n-breakfast, above the maddening crowd in Sonoma and Napa, but still in picturesque wine country. So much history associated with the Old Crocker Inn. Every convenience, all details covered, nothing missed.

The inn is very out of the way, but worth the drive. It looks a little rough on the outside, but is every charming and very comfortable and clean. It also had a lot of little touches you find only in luxury hotels, including something we've never seen before - a scrunchy scrub pad. Tony and Marsha are the hosts and they are delightful. Breakfast was outstanding, full of surprises. We will definitely stay there again when in the neighborhood.

We loved our stay, although short. We brought our dog and stayed in Jupiter. Very quaint and romantic. We would stay again since I thought it was a good deal. It is a little far from town so it's somewhat of a hike to local restaurants, especially with rain! The breakfast was not the best, in fact I didn't want to finish it. The scones were excellent but quiche and potatoes were not. Overall a great place to stay.

We loved out stay at the Old Crocker Inn. We purchased a livingsocial deal and it exceeded our expectations. Wonderful and lovely inn keepers. They were always friendly to talk to through our stay and helpful to make our trip a good experience! There were so many little things they do to make it extra special...fresh flowers in your room, warm freshly baked snack at night, movies to watch during your stay, and lots of other little treats. It is definitely out in the country and away from other things to do, but beautiful grounds to stay on! We hope to be back!

Wonderful room and breakfast.

The Old Crocker Inn provided us with a relaxing get-away in a beautiful mountainous area. It was quaint, charmiing and a wonderful place to truly "get away". The beautiful breakfast and service provided by the owners and staff are second to none.

Old Crocker Inn offers a retreat central to Napa/Sonoma/Mendocino wine country appellations, where you can relax by a pool in summer, ride bikes along back country roads or enjoy privacy surrounded by the quiet rural setting. You'll likely see hawks, bulteos, quail, deer, plus owls and the occasional coyote at night. The night sky is dark here and constellations and planets are brilliant without the distraction of city light. Rooms are comfortable and offer wi-fi. Cell phone reception excellent if you need it. The staff is very helpful, friendly and accomodating. We are already making plans to return.

My daughter and I planned a birthday get-away to celebrate her 28th...she found information on Living Social about Old Crocker Inn, I made the reservations and we just came back from our special weekend. Tony and Marcia were so friendly, the room just as I had pictured and even though it rained all weekend, we made the best of it. The fireplace kept the room cozy and after hot baths in the huge tub, we would sit out on the covered deck listening to the rain, chatting and drinking wine. We had in-room massages the evening we arrived which set the tone for the entire weekend...relaxation was our goal. The bed was beyond comfortable; one entry in the room journal mentioned it was like sleeping on a cloud and we agree! The breakfasts were the best, the location very scenic and we were greeted by deer on each drive in. We would highly recommend Old Crocker Inn!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon when staying at the Old Crocker Inn. We had a wonderful time there. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and just like the pictures. Marcia and Tony were very nice and accomodating, especially when you make a special request a day into your stay! The grounds were stunningly beautiful and peaceful. And the food was amazing. Each day we were presented with a unique and delicious breakfast that just blew us away. We can never thank them enough for helping us have a wonderful stay, but we can and will, go back to stay with them again.

Beautiful setting, nice warm and cozy rooms, delicious breakfast, and very accommodating!

We were in town for only two nights and wanted someplace quiet and comfortable but with easy access to all the surroundings in the area - we got all that and more. Room had a gas fireplace, lots of amenities and the bedding was so comfortable, you never wanted to get up. Also, the breakfast was delicious with great presentation - as were the afternoon cakes they served. Will definitely stay here again.

I stayed two nights at the Old Crocker Inn, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so relaxing high up over the Sonoma Valley floor in the hills with views over fields. The room was immaculate and service was most generous. The Old Crocker Inn is a wonderful place to getaway for a relaxing time and learn a bit of history while exploring the vineyards or redwood groves of this wonderful part of California. It is highly recommended.

We spent a wonderful 4 days at the inn in mid September. The location was somewhat secluded (which we expected) and very quiet and relaxing. The room was nicely furnished to reflect the historical nature of the property and the bathroom was one of the best. The three or four course breakfasts were fresh, creative and delicious. Our hosts were helpful, pleasant and conversational. Lots of wildlife and humming birds were everywhere. If we are fortunate to visit California again we'll certainly be back to the Old Crocker Inn. My husband and I stayed for several nights at the Old Crocker Inn to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Knowing that we were celebrating our anniversary, the innkeeper provided a bottle of champaign in our cottage the night we arrived. The breakfasts were outstanding; the pool was very enjoyable; the grounds beautiful. We highly recommend this bed & breakfast.

4 of us stayed at the Inn last Thurs. We made last minute plans, so many places were booked. As we looked for availability & good pricing we found this & thought we'd give it a try. The night we were there we were the only guests. Unfortunately for us they were booked the following nights. The Inn is a little off the beaten path, but easy to get to. Tony & Marcia own & run the place. We were in the Clement room It was cozy & comfortable & had comfy robes & the amenities we needed. After dinner in Cloverdale we came back to the dining room with a bottle of wine. Tony joined us briefly & told us a little about the place. There was fresh banana bread out for a late evening snack. The fresh scones, berries, & homemade egg, avacado & salmon crepes the next morning were delicious. We were sorry we didn't have another day there. The weather was beautiful and we could have easily spent a day being lazy by the pool. We also would have liked to do some walking in the area, but didn't have time. Our friends & us said we would definitely like to go back there. Everything was clean, rooms were spacious, the grounds were gorgeous & the service was friendly. We could easily see going with a whole group & booking all the rooms. The owners mentioned people had done this in the past & even allowed the group to do some of their own cooking. A great setting for a wedding or group event. If you stay here try to plan some time to spend on the grounds. The decks & porches are so peaceful with beautiful views. If the weather is warm the pool area is nice. If you're looking for something casual & rustic then definitely try this place out. I know we'll be going back!

A wonderful bed and breakfast inn.. Charming room, delicious breakfasts and a glorious setting. Our hosts could not have been more helpful or welcoming.

This place was secluded and quiet - away from all the crowds in the wine country, but yet close enough to go enjoy all the area has to offer. The Inn along with the people that worked there were very hospitable and a pleasure to talk to. If you don't want to do the "disney land" version of the wine country, i recommend you stay here.

The Old Crocker Inn was beautiful. It is feels secluded and quiet. We stayed in the Jupiter cottage and the room was comfortable and clean. They had lots of movie DVDs to choose from and a TV and DVD player in the room. There were also board games and other past times to choose from. The pool was a short walk away from the cottages and lodge, which made it feel very private. There were often a doe and her two fawns roaming around the gardens munching on the shrubbery and flowers. The couple that runs the BnB were great! Breakfast was good. They don't really offer options - they offered one main course - but were easy about changing it a little when asked. The only drawback (I didn't think it was as big of a drawback as my husband did) was how far it was from the closest town. There is actually a sign as you're getting close to the Inn saying "don't despair, you're almost there"! It was about a 20 minute drive to town. But in town, there was an Italian restaurant called Diavola Pizzeria & Salumeria. It was probably the best Italian meal I've ever had. So that was a plus! I would definitely recommend the Old Crocker Inn! It was totally worth the money. Plus, they are a participant in the wine passport thing that gets you 2 free tastings at over 120 local wineries. Saved us a lot in tasting fees.

The room was fabulous, the highlight being the sheets and to a barely lesser degree the bed. I think they were a million count! The couple who owns/runs it is fabulous. The grounds are everything they advertised: great pool, deer roaming around and plenty of stars at night. We wanted for nothing. We would definitely stay there again.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. Delicious breakfast, nice room and wonderful location.

Arrived a little later than normal check in with no problem ( Called ahead first) Rooms are first rate. Shower is wonderful. Breakfasts were awesome, 1st morning Polenta with Poached eggs and real Canadian bacon not that machine made pork you usually get! 2nd morning they served the best French Toast Ive ever had and Im not a FT person. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come back.

Our second stay and although we stayed in a smaller room it was still a wonderful experience. All the comforts of home out in the wilderness. The absoloute quiet, especially at night, is priceless. No one bothers you but are they if you need them. Coffee, tea and snacks always available...there is nothing at all I would change.

Quiet place, nice, comfortable and clean rooms. Owners were very friendly and helpful. According the pictures I expected better view over the valley but trees have grown to much. A pitty because would certainly be a plus. Some pool furniture needs replacement. Water was not very clean. Pool is certainly a plus but needs maintenance.

This old hunting lodge has been restored to a charming and very comfortable retreat on spacious property surrounded by woodlands. The Stanford Room and its private bath/shower is in the main house, had ample space with a comfortable sitting area. and small wall mounted TV. It was well-appointed with plush robes, pool towels, wine glasses, corkscrew, a blow dryer, and environmental friendly bath products. A wall air conditioner and overhead fan provided sufficient cooling. Main house rooms have relatively private use of shaded wrap-around deck with sofa and dining seating. Ice machine is off the lobby as is a much too small mini fridge for guest use. Host Tony stayed in the background, while his wife Marcia cooked and served up fabulous breakfasts enjoyed both inside their large dining room and on the sunny deck. Marcia also provided helpful restaurant and wine tasting suggestions upon request. Pool provided a welcome relief from the heat, but could use a bit of cosmetic maintenance. Rooms are cleaned and bed is made daily but sheets and towels are not changed unless you request; the Inn follows earth friendly practices. Bed linen was ultra soft microfiber plus down comforters. Our only cautionary note is if you have back problems request a room with a firm bed as ours was too soft and brought on twinges in my husband's back.. I do highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet "retreat".

This was a great place. Quiet and secluded, the room had the most comfortable bed and a great claw foot bathtub for soaking. A relaxing stay with a great breakfast in the morning, looking forward to coming back.

This was our first time here and I am definitely coming back! The room was amazing, extremely quiet and peaceful. The service was great and the breakfast was excellent and different each day. Home cooked meal while you're on vacation is the way to go. Old Crocker is the way to spend a weekend/week in Wine country. One quick note, make sure you read the directions on its site. your GPS will get you lost!

We loved this place! Our hosts were gracious, friendly and very helpful. We were interested in live music, and they directed us to Friday Night Live and the Farmer's Market in the heart of downtown Cloverdale. What a blast! Great food was offered by local catering companies. Our room was so charming, clean and well-appointed with a very comfy bed. We slept like rocks We loved our own little front porch! Breakfasts were to die for and we found wine, cheese and delicious home-baked goodies in the evening! We had a wonderful stay here and can't wait for an excuse to return.

This is the first bed and breakfast that my husband and I have ever been too. We recently did a 2 week trip touring northern California and stayed at many bed and breakfasts. Everyone that we went too, other than yours, was horrible experience for us. But yours was by far no comparison to any other place. Everything about our stay there was wonderful!!!! The value of it was perfect for us. If you would have charged much more we would not have been able to afford to go, but we are so grateful that your place was within our budget. We loved the fact that our breakfast was in an open area, at a time that we picked, not sitting with other people, and June our breakfast host was the most hospitable person. She was extremely friendly and so helpful. If we had any questions she was more than willing to answer them for us while still doing her job. She had a wonderful personality. We loved our room. It was extremely clean and that bed was so comfortable!!! I now have to buy one like it. We loved how peaceful the area was. We come from a very busy and hectic lifestyle and we were so in need of rest and peace and we got that. We had our anniversary there and if we ever get the chance to come back we will for sure pick your place and I have already started to recommend it to some of my friends so that they may get the opportunity to spend some time there and get to experience what we were able to. I am sure that the deer could be annoying to a gardener but waking up to them right by our front porch was a magical experience. you have created the best bed and breakfast ever and we thank you so much for everything and the way that you have set things up were perfect. The Old Crocker Inn is a secluded retreat in the wooded hills in the wine country. The setting was peaceful and relaxing, especially at night when it was really quiet and cool outside. I enjoyed seeing the deer as they nearly came up to my cottage. The cottage (Golden Spike) was rustic, yet it was luxuriously appointed. The bed and sheets were extremely comfortable. The room was very clean. Although I was not impressed with the television and the way you had to work the various remote controls and such to watch a dvd and various tv stations. It was awkward. The owners (Tony and Marcia) were extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were exquisite. though I didn't use the pool, it looked very inviting. Overall, staying at the Old Crocker Inn was a wonderful experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Crocker Inn. Our cottage was beautiful, with cozy beds with down comforters. The setting was secluded and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and filling, with excellent coffee. Unfortunately, we had to leave right after breakfast; we would have loved to linger on the front porch, or the patio of our cottage. We highly recommend this inn.

We stayed here two nights and overall it was a nice stay. The room was definitely the best part. We had the Stanford room and it was very nicely decorated without being over-the-top with lace and flowers like so many wine country B&Bs. Our room and bathroom were super clean and everything was up-to-date and working. And the bed was SO comfortable! The only things that were not so great were 1) the food and 2) the hosts :-( The first breakfast (southwestern frittata) was pretty good, but mushy. And the second breakfast (quiche with potatoes and baked tomatoes) was not good at all. It all seemed like it had been sitting out waiting to be brought to our table. The crust was mushy and the potatoes were cold. And the whole breakfast experience felt very rushed - like they couldn't wait for us to finish and get out of the dining room. And re: the hosts: they didn't really have a good sense of general hospitality or overall "customer service". Their words and actions were all very perfunctory and it didn't feel like they actually enjoyed having people around. And there is a lot to be said for how you present yourself in relation to how people feel in your presence - meaning the clothes you wear and if they're clean or not, if you smile or not, if you know how to engage with people, etc. - and when you are running an establishment where you want people to be comfortable in your presence these are things that should be important!

my girls and I celebrated one of my daughter's 30th Birthday--it was perfect in all respects, both Corocker Inn and all the activities that are in close proximity-cooking class, wine tasting, fabulous resturant and great breakfast at the Inn.

A great historic Inn up in the hills surrounding the great Sonoma Wine Country! Comfortable, quiet - a nice place to get away. And a fantastic breakfast!!!

Stayed at the Old Crocker Inn July 4 to July 7, 2012. Off the beaten path, quiet, and relaxing.

Beautiful grounds overlooking Alexander Valley. You feel the history there in comfortable surroundings. The lodge and cottages provide privacy and also bring people together from all over the world. As SF natives, we enjoyed talking with people from NY and England. We would highly recommend a stay there.

I just spent a few days in paradise. My son and I went to Old Crocker Inn for some wine tasting without the hype and it was even better than I expected from the web site.Situated high above Alexander Valley amid the hummingbirds and fawn we spent a comfy long weekend in our lovely cottage. The setting is casual and natural but very clean and the food was fabulous. Breakfast on the porch each morning (one morning polenta and poached eggs, another fritatta and fresh scones) couldn't have been better. I highly recommend this place. Well worth the drive. Love the secluded feel of the Old Crocker Inn. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. However, the property feels old (it is!) and needs to be renovated. Also, there are cobwebs everywhere -- the place is is need of a thorough deep cleaning.

Great time at the OLD CROCKER INN- rooms immaculate, grounds very tranquil, staff very kind and attentive and breakfast is gourmet!

My latest stay was my fifth or sixth in the past few years. I live in the bay area and enjoy taking out-of-area friends to this special place as part of wine tasting weekends. The helpful staff, unique period rooms, gourmet breakfast and peaceful location makes staying here very gracious and relaxing. This is a must-do for thoroughly enjoying the northern California wine culture.

The old Crocker inn is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a serene, quiet retreat. We visited San Francisco and traveled to Sonoma county for a few days and it was a great way to end our vacation. We felt so refreshed and the staff was so helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious each morning and the views are incredible!! We would love to return one day and recommend to others to stay there.

Lovely room, fantastic bed. We both slept over 10 hours each night. A beautiful setting for those who want to get away from it all--but it is somewhat remote. Nice amenities in room -- bathrobes, toilettries, gas fireplace, t.v. and dvd player. Convenient to wine country and very competitive with prices in Healdsburg and Sonoma.

We bought a Living Social deal for the Old Crocker Inn. We went without any expectations and we were pleasantly surprised! The cabins are adorable and very comfortable. Some of their cabins are dog-friendly so we were able to bring our 'kids'. There is amazing hiking within driving distance and of course all the wineries made it so there was not a lack of things to do. The service was so personable, we felt like family. The breakfasts were hearty and elegant. They made sure we were full! We will definitely be coming back and bringing more people with us.

Loved this B&B! Old Crocker Inn is just charming and the Inn Keepers just bent over backward to make us happy. I also had a mishap while in Muir Woods. As it turned out I broke my foot. Marcia was SO helpful finding us an urgent care clinic. Also, the breakfasts were out of this world! No need to stop for lunch after those amazing breakfasts. We were good until dinner time.

The Canton cabin was spacious and very private. The bed was very comfortable. My wife loved the pillows. The beautiful spring weather cooperated to make this a delightful getaway.

Ben and Marcia were wonderful and helpful, they provided very insightful information on area travels. This was our first stay in a B&B and will be planning more of them if we can look forward to the same experience. Truly an escape from Napa.

Great place! Wish I could have stayed more than one night! The hospitality was wonderful. All were so nice and helpful. I will be back!

We had 9 people in our party that stayed at the Old Crocker Inn. We had a variety of rooms and all were very spacious and comfortable for our 4 night stay. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The pool area was large and welcoming. Our breakfasts were delicious and varied each day. The inn keepers went out of their way 1 morning to serve us an early breakfast since we had a tour waiting for us that began early. Our hosts also recommended a few good restaurants for us as well as a great bakery to order a birthday cake. My husband and I also enjoyed a couple's massage in our cottage that was arranged by the hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Inn to all who go to the Sonoma area.

We had a wonderful stay. The tranquility in a beautiful setting complete with excellent accommodations and personal attention from the inn keeper. My husband has food allergies and every effort was made to make his breakfast safe and delicious. Highly recommend the Old Crocker Inn!

Wonderfully relaxing. You really feal away from it all while still being just a short drive to town and wineries. Great place to decompress. The breakfasts were amazing!

We highly recommend the Old Crocker Inn in Cloverdale. My and wife and I spent 5 nights there and we found it to be quiet, relaxing and scenic. The breakfasts were amazing and we looked forward to each morning to see what was in store for us. We were never dissapointed! Marcia and her staff were the best of hosts and made us feel very comfortable.

What a find. The Old Crocker Inn is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. After each day of wine tasting and dinner we were so surprised to find a home made treat in the dinning room. And was it ever good! The Old Crocker Inn is a beautiful place perched in the hills above the Alexander Valley? The main lodge is stunning, and the cabins are charming. The grounds are beautifully landscaped in an informal way. The breakfast served was delicious and elegant.

We stayed in tthe Canton Cottage for four days. I wish we could have stayed longer. We had a wonderful time and felt so relaxed while we were there. We took our yellow lab and he had a great time too. The grounds are beautiful and it is so peaceful and quiet ... close to but far enough from dowtown Cloverdale where you can find restaurants for lunch/dinner. We already have our return trip planned!

We celebrated our daughter's engagement with her fiance, future inlaws, and us for the weekend. Crocker Inn was a perfect setting - great rooms, wonderful service, and a beautiful setting.

Went there for a babymoon and loved it. Great value at that price. The grounds are super nice. The rooms are great. And the food is excellent.

The Old Crocker Inn was an excellent find. We stayed 2 nights there while visiting our daughter in Cloverdale. It is located up in the hills and offers a secluded feeling whil being only a few miles away from the main highway. It was outstanding. The rooms were comfortable and the decor was very relaxing. The large dining room with a wonderful view of the surrounding area is magnificent. The breakfasts were excellent. First morning was poached eggs over polenta and the second was Belgium waffles. The host were very friendly and accommodating. I would heartily recommend the Old Crocker Inn to anyone wanting a out of the way country stay.

this was our 3rd time at old crocker and we'll certainly be back. nothing has been overlooked: the rooms are perfectly appointed, multi-course breakfast is always amazing. the only possible downside is that the b+b is a little out of the way in the winter months when the bridge is closed and you're looking to head south of town. but the added bit of driving isn't worth picking a different place to stay -- this is it!

From the moment we arrived, everything about the Old Crocker Inn was perfect. The views are gorgeous, the food amazing, and the service warm and helpful. I can't say enough about this place! The room (we stayed in the crocker room) was impecable, warm and cozy, beautifully furnished - just a delight. There were snacks (both healthy and decadent) available at all times. The breakfast was one of the best meals either of us had ever had. A wide selection of videos were left out for anyone to watch. And to top it off, we were given coupons for free tastings at vineyards throughout the area. The Old Crocker Inn is worth every cent and then some! I can guarantee that the next time we come to wine country, we'll be staying there again.

My partner and I stayed at Old Crocker Inn this past weekend, and I honestly cried in the parking lot when it was time to leave! Quaint, beautiful, and quiet, this B&B is a place where you can really, truly relax. (You really have no choice to). Marcia and Tony are wonderful hosts. They not only accommodated our dietary requests but exceeded our expectations with two delicious and thoughtful breakfasts. Coffee and wine was also abound, and much appreciated. We also loved the relaxed atmosphere of being able to come in and out of the lodge as you pleased. The bed was fluffy and cozy. We also were thankful for the wifi, DVD library, and cable TV! We had a really quiet and relaxing weekend. The canton cottage was private, beautiful, and very comfortable. We woke up to deer outside our cottage. My husband is still talking about how delicious the breakfast was!

The Old Crocker Inn was a great B&B. My husband and I stayed here while traveling to Sonoma Wine Country for 3 days. It was nice to stay in a secluded place. The rooms had "country charm" which I really liked. The beds were super comfortable!! I was a huge fan of the claw foot tubs... The food was unbelievable!!! Overall, a top quality B&B with outstanding breakfast but we experienced some minor inconveniences: the door of the room was opened (to the outside) when we came in at 10pm, Wi-Fi did not work in the rooms and was very slow in the lobby. Location is not necessarily ideal for those who are just looking for a one-night stop as it is a few miles from town and difficult to reach and find at night.

Beautiful secluded location while still quite close to Healdsburg. The pool area looked fantastic, but it was too cool and rainy for us to use. Hope to go back when we can.

The Inn has old world charm, and the inn keepers were very helpful--especially in providing for my infant. The meals were wonderful and served a lovely, bright diningroom. We were pleasnatly surprised by all it offered.

Fantastic stay at the Old Crocker Inn. We loved that it was out of town, spotless, relaxing, with outstanding service and breakfast. We also loved the evening treats and taking pictures of deer from our front door.

We were referred to Old Crocker Inn by locals. We spent 8 days in the wine country and this location was perfect. We loved that it was quiet and relaxing and casual. We slept late for the first ime in months. Our room was spotless and had all the extras . The views were breathtaking and there were wild turkeys,quail,rabbits and wild birds on the grounds. Marcia and Tony were helpful and pleasant. The breakfasts were delicious and were better than other B &B 's we stayed at. The location was at the top of a big hill and a lot of twisties and turns but worth it. What a unique place! We will definitely stay here again next trip. If you want a unique B&B -this is it! I was sad to leave. (by the way- I am very picky about where I stay)

The Old Crocker Inn was exactly what we needed! A private, comfortable, relaxing place to get away from our hectic, everyday life. It is rustic but clean and comfy, with nice touches to make it feel special. The breakfasts are wonderful and the atmosphere in the lodge dining room makes you want to take your time and enjoy your meal. It was nice to have a pool to lounge by and swim in. This was also a wonderful setting and we had the pool to ourselves. We will return!

The dining area and the breakfasts were great but I thought the furniture and the decor in our room was sad and needed updating . It was however very clean and there was everything you needed in the bathroom

Loved the Old Crocker Inn. The room and the food were great!. We were a little disappointed Innkeepers,while very friendly,were not readily available to tell us a little bit more about the area and answer more questions.

Tony and Marcia were so friendly, and helpful. My room was so restful, the bed was a dream sleep. Breakfast was a treasure of tastes and variety, served beautifully. Reccommended wineries, restaurants and sites were well worth the experience, and everyone knew the Inn and innkeepers, with a smile. We've been going to Alexander Valley for years, and never got around to staying at the Old Crocker Inn until Sept. 2011. What took us so long??!! We were so impressed with the beautiful, serene setting and the gorgeously appointed historic rooms. We spent many hours enjoying the wrap around deck & swimming pool, and were even allowed to grill our own tri-tip dinner one night while taking in the beautiful sunset. The breakfasts were superb and the service both welcoming and attentive. We'll be back again and again!

The Old Crocker Inn was a great place to stay. Many more ammenities than most B & B's. Rustic yet very comfortable. Not much to do in Cloverdale but make the short drive to Healdsburg and enjoy that town. Plenty of wineries around this area. Much less hectic than the Napa Valley area.

It's always hard to tell about a place from a picture on a website, and I'll have to admit that Old Crocker Inn is so remote that it gave me a moment of pause when I drove onto the property, but it's truly a great place to stay. Quiet, relaxing, tranquil....and a little bit rustic. A nice blend and a great experience. The breakfast was wonderful - if you could make yourself get out of an incredibly comfortable bed with the best sheets that I've ever slept on! Very helpful staff that led us to a great dining experience in Geyserville. I'd definitely recommend staying at the old Crocker Inn.

We stayed at the Old Crocker Inn only for 1 night because they were fully booked. I wished we had more time there. The place is absolutely beautiful. Even the road to get there makes you feel you are going to stay in a very special place. Our room (Judah) was perfect, clean, tastefully decorated and spacious. Every detailed was taken care of. Service couldn't have been better. People working there try their best to make you feel at home. Breakfast is very good, everything home made. They even have cake for tea time served at the restaurant in case you get hungry! The views from the ranch are great as well. I strongly recommend this Inn! Only thing to point out is that you are a little far from villages and restaurants if that's what you want. It's a challenging drive coming back at night.

We finalized our last few days of vacation in California at the Crocker Inn and it was the best way to see the beauty and hospitality of the Sonoma area.I hope to return some day.

This is a special place for a getaway. I was first struck by the quiet and the country views. Then unexpectedly surprised by the decor of the main lobby and my room with its huge four poster bed. Though it is a B & B, there is a strong feeling of privacy as each room opens out onto the surrounding deck and into the central courtyard. The pool is located away from the building, in another quiet oasis. Tony and Marcia were wonderful hosts, present but unobtrusive and very knowledgeable about the area (wineries, etc). Their breakfasts were elegant! Obviously I would and will return.

The Inn is certainly out of the way, but that is one of its charms. It is very quiet, very serene and a lovely spot. The innkeepers are very helpful if you need any information about the local area. The rooms are nicely appointed with antiques and four-poster beds. The wrap-around deck affords some wonderful views of the valley below and the pool area is away from the main house and quite large. All-in-all, highly recommended.

We had no idea what we were in for, having only seen pictures online. The cottage was nice, the views terrific. Breakfast was wonderful and Janna was a perfect breakfast host. We would return if ever in the area again from North Carolina.

I knew from the website that my husband, an outdoor enthusiast was going to love this place. We stayed in the "Crocker" room with an outstanding view of the valley from the deck outside of our room. We saw plenty of wild life on the property as well as the surrounding area. The gourmet breakfast out on the decking was a wonderful experience. Thanks to the Inn Keepers!

You may feel like you're driving way off the beaten path to get to the Old Crocker Inn. But it really isn't as remote as you might think. It's easy to get to, and easy to fall in love with once you're there. The tranquility and views are priceless, the rooms are perfect and the atmosphere is laid back. Can't wait to get back there soon!

For a first-time B&B-er, I can't say that I can compare this experience to any other. But, I think I was sold at the unlimited teas, coffees, and evening confections. The staff-persons at OCI are lovely and hospitable and the rooms are well-furnished with towels and amenities. I loved the swimming pool and the inn's tucked-away location, too. I chose OCI because my friend raved about the breakfast, which I found delicious but not excessively amazing. Yet, from what I understand in terms of price and friendliness, the inn is a great deal and worth coming back to next season.

Cabin was comfortable, great linens, lovely amenities, great fireplace, even oriental rugs. Felt very much at home.

This is a beautiful and peaceful site. We found the history of the ranch so interesting! The property is well kept and our son thoroughly enjoyed the lovely pool. Breakfast was a special treat. We had to leave before the regular breakfast hours on our last morning, but the hostess made the BEST muffins for us to go with our coffee!

Comfortable, tasteful rooms with luxuriously soft sheets and bathroom amenities. Excellent breakfasts and hospitable service. Love all the greenery -- how remote it is too. I've been here three times and will be back yet again.

The rooms were nice, and the food was delicious. However, we felt the photos provided on the web were a little misleading. We thought we would see vineyards from the patio outside of our room. Instead, we saw a road. That's another thing. We thought we were out in the country away from most civilization. However, we were at the foothill surrounded by a neighborhood. In California, the cool weather requires open windows for ventilation. We had our windows open and could hear cars driving down the road all night.

The service was warm and friendly, the cabin was more than a cabin, a wonderfully appointed room, and the breakfast on the deck made us want to stay. We have already told several friends that this is a wonderful place to go for a quiet break.

Hosts were wonderful and the property was absolutely beautiful. Our room was furnished very nicely, right out of Better Homes and Gardens ! The bed was very comfortable and there were little touches like fresh flowers in our room that made our stay there extra nice. i hope to go back some day.

This former hunting lodge is nestled above Cloverdale. It is quiet and private, with utterly gracious Innkeepers, Tony and Marcia. This was the second visit for us (3 nights) and enjoyed every minute...

We have have stayed at many B&Bs and this one is as close to perfect as possible. The setting is beautiful, wonderful hosts, and a lovely room. On our current trip to CA, everything went wrong except our stay at the Older Crocker Inn. I cannot say enough nice things about our hosts. They were friendly, kind and accommodating. They could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely room. The coffee was great and plentiful. There is tremendous attention to every detail at this B&B. The sheets were soft and the bed was very comfortable. Even the basket of soaps and lotions in the room was special. There was a vast collection of DVDs for us and delicious cake and snacks in the main room. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer but we definitely hope to return. My wife and I stayed here in mid-May, 2011, and found the inn elegant and quiet, with gorgeous views of the countryside. The breakfasts are amazing, and Marcia & Tony went out of their way to make our stay very special. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We'll be back!!

My name is mary Boe Zink Rickards.My Brother-in-law,Bob Overdeck,was Manager for Jack and Patty Black..My horses ran free over all the achers and My older sister would drive up the main road and honk the horn.The horses would then come running over the hills and my friend Shirley Love and myself woul jump on our horses with Bailing rope for bridal or nothing at all...kick them and they would head for the barn. My sister would take the guest on trail rides and my brother-in-Law put on the rodeos.We would sometimes pack a lunch and ride up over the hills and have a weiner roast up on top.My best memories...Of course my horse was also a Palomino...and I carried a Palamio Lakes Flag in the Parade and Rodao,We will be up camping the last week in June at the Koa...We will stop by and say "HI".My sister will be with us and we will bring pics.We stay in touch with the Black children.Seeing this site sure brings back fond memories.

The inn is a lovely rambling building on a knoll looking out over the Alexander Valley. Our room had a gorgeous view (as advertised on the website), was larger than I expected, nicely appointed and had a super comfortable bed and bedding. The only thing I would have preferred to be different would be to have really good coffee (they served conventional over-diluted coffee, a reminder of the bad pre-Starbucks days in the US), and less fussy breakfast food: just fresh fruit, bread/muffins, and perhaps some cheese along with jam would have sufficed and would be healthier and in my view much nicer than the "B&B menu" of fritattas etc.

We appreciate getting feedback from guests and would like to respond to two of the comments. The coffee we serve at breakfast comes from a popular local company with a Fair Trade policy, its own roasting facility, and an extensive selection of coffees. Given the diversity in personal tastes, we use a moderately strong, full flavored variety that usually generates compliments. We regret that it was not pleasing and hope that future guests will let us know at the time. People who stay in B&Bs know that the menu is set but we do accommodate dietary restrictions and special needs. We use local produce and healthy recipes as much as possible. When guests check in, we ask if there are any foods they can’t or don’t eat so that we can prepare them a suitable meal. In addition,if we see that a guest isn’t eating in the morning, we offer something else. We don’t want anyone to leave hungry.

Terrific hospitality and a very enjoyable stay. A bit isolated up in the hills above Cloverdale but a lovely, restful spot.

A very comfortable place to spend a few cold, sometimes wet, nights. Off the beaten path and tucked away in beautiful hills, we had a great time driving through and seeing the vineyards and homes along the Russian River. Marcia and Tony were the best hosts and cooks, and they've got a pretty decent DVD collection for post-wine-tasting viewing. All-in-all a great stay, we plan on returning during another slow season.

The relaxation started for me as soon as I pull off the 101 winding along the East side of the valley with great views of the vineyards around every corner. Upon arrival I was greeted by Tony who showed me to my charming room; it was a good size with a fire place and a big Jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was tasty and filling. I had a great stay and will recommend it to my friends and family.

The B&B is located on the hills above the Alexander Valley in one of the premier cabernet wine valleys in the world. Several of our all time favorite wineries are within 15 minutes of the B&B. The history of the ranch and lodge site are fascinating revolving around the San Francisco railroad barons- Crocker, Stanford, Huntington and Hopkins. We stayed in the Huntington room which had a wonderfully comfortable 4 poster King bed, gas fireplace, private claw foot bath with shower and views of the hills across the valley. The wine reception with apple cake in the evening was excellent. The room included breakfast and was delightful with two Belgium waffles, fruit, fresh juice and fruit smoothies! Tony and Marcia had a special Veterans Day (Nov. 11) discount to honor vets which we were lucky enough to take advantage of for one night. We hope to return for a lengthier stay.

A family business, beautiful rooms, fair prices & delicious breakfast. Wonderful service, fun festivities in the newly renovated barn. Seems to be on top of the world in another world.

The location and setting were wonderful, you felt like you were in another time. The rooms were inviting and cozy but modern enough for a younger couple. The breakfast and evening snacks were delicious. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The Old Crocker Inn is a charming old ranch located in the beautiful hills above Cloverdale, CA. The buildings feature high ceilings and deep wrap-around porches. Beautiful rooms and great food.

The inn was not quite what we expected from what we saw online. It was busy, but our room was private and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and thought breakfast was tasty.

An inspirational resting place in the hills overlooking oak woodlands with vineyards laced between. The beds are large and comfy and the breakfasts a delight, the birds a pleasant chorus. A good resting spot.

We first found this place when it was just coming back into use as a inn. We've stayed there 5-6 times since. Not so much recently due to the economy. :( Our favorite is the Canton Cottage. No common walls and you're off by yourself a bit. The gas fireplace/heater works great, as does the A/C in the summer. You can take a dip in the pool if you're hanging around during the day. The have a hot tub but we've never used it. We've seen wild pigs and turkeys and deer on the property. The tree frogs will serenade you to sleep at night. My only complaint is, it's quite a drive to get to the inn. And you're on twisty, winding country roads. It's not so bad when the summer bridge is open but during the off-season it's quite a trek.

Old Crocker Inn has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. You can truly get away from it all and recharge. We highly recommend this Inn.

My husband and I stayed for our 10 year anniversary in the 'Crocker room'. Pictures do not do it justice. So many personal touches that make you feel at home. The view from our porch was breathtaking. The grounds are quiet and relaxing. The food was exceptional. I highly recommend staying here. It was worth every penny. The innkeepers, the Babbs, were very knowledgeable about the area. More importantly, they cared about our having a good experience and went out of their way to provide good advice and support.

Old Crocker Inn is on a forested hill overlooking acres of Sonoma, co. vineyards. The owners were like kind parents, and the 3-course breakfast was first rate. Great location for wine tasting or just relaxing.

Winter rates make this lodge affordable. Lovely room but uncomfortable Victorian love seat -- on a rainy day "hard" to sit and read. Good fake fireplace made the room warm, unlike lobby & dining room, which were chilly. Mr. Innkeeper served us in truly dirty sweatshirt and sloppy jeans with grouchy demeanor -- Mrs. I. pleasant and accommodating.
