Just fantastic in every way. Great facility, good food and friendly staff. Transforms an overnight stay into an event! Only wish they would add some bacon, sausage or ham to the breakfast menu, but that's just me!

My husband and I came to the Ollalieberry for our second, one-night stay but this time brought family and friends as we were all driving down the coast. I say enough about the breakfast and how the staff go out of there way to accommodate diet restrictions. We are both gluten-free by necessity but you would never know that the breakfast foods they make do not contain wheat. We will definitely be back again. It's an easy getaway for us.

The original building dates back to 1865, and has all of the quirky charm one might expect from so old a structure. We arrived when the garden was in full bloom (late APR), and it's about as nice a spot to enjoy the evening wine tasting as anybody could hope for. The location is within easy walking distance from much of the town. What sets Olallieberry apart, though, is the staff: you will feel like a returning friend even if you are a first-time guest, like we were. Oh, and breakfast alone would be worth the stay; they have a full kitchen and teach cooking classes there.

Yummy breakfasts! The second day we did not have towels in our room, but where promptly brought towels when we told the staff.

We have never been disappointed in the multiple times we have visited this B&B for over 20 years now. The staff is friendly and warm, and always there to take care of your needs. They are so happy they literally can be heard whistling and singing while they work. The garden is so relaxing to just sit and read a book with the wild flowers surrounding you. With games and tea available in the gathering room at any time of day or night, you really do feel like you are home when you stay here.

Very comfortable accommodations with an excellent bed. Extremely enjoyable stay. Close to fine places to dine and to shop. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The evening person spent a lot time assisting us in finding a place for dinner one evening.

My wife and I needed a weekend getaway. Saw this bnb and it looked nice on the website. It was way better than we expected. Staff was nice. God was great and the rooms were outstanding.

My birthday weekend was the best due to my lovely stay at Oallibery Inn. The Creekside Room was a beautiful and charming three room suite with a private balcony opening onto the creek. The lush greenery was a perfect backdrop for croaking toads. Wonderful friendly staff saw to each guests needs with smiles.

Great place and wonderful hosts. Only downside is that they did not have a place for my after dinner cognac and cigar.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Olallieberry Inn! We were greeted warmly every morning by the staff. The attention to detail in the room and the inn is excellent; the breakfasts are absolutely delicious; and they serve wine, coffee, or tea with appetizers in the evening. We will stay again soon!

This historic property puts you in the context of the long history of Cambria. The old town section, including Linn's, is within walking distance. We had the Creekside Suite and loved the space, furniture and gas fireplace. We slept well on the comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, with choices of foods. We would stay in Olallieberry Inn again.

Our stay was wonderful! I rated the room (the Harmony room) a 4 because the head of the bed is at an downhill angle. I suffer from headaches and it seems sleeping with my head at a downhill angle led to a migraine. The following night my wife and I flipped around and just slept with our heads at the foot of the bed. Perhaps a couple of blocks a couple inches high under the head of the bed would do the trick. However, I will also say that we very much enjoyed the breakfasts and social wine hour. Cambria is a sweet town and we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you!

The inn was recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The inn itself is nestled in a quiet area but within walking distance of the main shops. The breakfasts were fantastic and the wine and hors d-oeuvres in the evening was a perfect touch!

We have been staying at the Inn every year since 2000. We couldn't be more pleased with everything about the inn. We are always welcomed like family to wonderful accommodations and wonderful breakfasts. And don't miss the appetizers in the evening before you head off to dinner. If you are staying in Cambria, this is the place!

I was travelling alone (I am a woman) up/down Rt 1 and chose to stop in Cambria for the night. I stayed in the Harmony Room. I was late getting there and someone on staff left my entrance/room/key instructions on the front door. The Harmony room was quite nice. Very clean. Nice mattress. After a long day of driving, it was nice to rest. I felt safe there. The Harmony room has a private restroom in the hallway. It's fine and you can lock your belongings in that restroom. The staff was gracious. The breakfast was wonderful. We had pumpkin pancakes, cooked pears and walnuts and wonderful scrambled eggs. The coffee was quite nice. My room (with tax) was around $170. I think the rate was a bite high. If you are unable to climb stairs, be sure to request a room on the first floor, as the house has a steep flight of steps leading upstairs. I was there in late October, but suspect that the patio and gardens are quite lovely during the spring and summer. A really nice place to enjoy your morning coffee or late afternoon wine. The Olallieberry Inn is in walking distance to most of the restaurants and shops. Cambria is a nice place to visit in October, as the town celebrates their Scare Crow Exhibit - where local shop owners display scare crows in front of their shops.

We enjoyed our stay here on our way driving up the California coast from LA to SF. The room was lovely, and the breakfast very tasty. Unfortunately, a terrible drought has hit Cambria especially hard, so the garden and stream were very dry - not the Inn's fault of course, but would have been nice to know about this ahead of time. A sign stating limit of two glasses of wine at Happy Hour was not necessary.

We returned to Cambria after 15 years for a no-kids getaway and decided to try a different bed and breakfast than our first (Squibb House). The reviews we read raved about food and great service and they were true! The breakfasts were fabulous! Our room was really big (the room at the top) and having the bathroom across from the room wasn't an inconvenience. The service was great. We appreciated cookies and a pitcher of water in our room the first night and the 5:30 wine/cheese hour. We would definitely come back!

We stayed in the "Sunrise" room which was on the 2nd floor in the back cottage. We had our own private balcony and the room was very airy and cheerful. Overall, I only have 2 issues that I would like to see tweaked: 1. For breakfast you had to arrive at a specific time, either 8:00 or 9:15, which in my opinion is a bit rigid. It would be so much more convenient if it was a time frame - say between 7:30-9:30. We found ourselves loitering in our room because it was not time yet for us to arrive in the dining room 2. They need to set up coffee service so if you wake up at 7 and want a cup of coffee to take back to your room, you can. That appeared to not be available. The food was delicious, however the portions were a bit on the small side. Other than these items noted, everything else was great.

Recently stayed at the Olallieberry Inn on June 3 and cannot say enough good things about our stay there. Booked an upstairs room, the Sunrise Room and wished we could have stayed more than one night. We had a king sized bed, vaulted ceilings, gas burning fireplace, our own private balcony and NO TV. Perfect for relaxing after touring nearby Hearst Castle. Took advantage of the 5 o'clock wine and snacks, walked one block to the downtown area of Cambria and had a great dinner at one of the many local restaurants available. After a very quiet and peaceful nights rest, my wife and I had a fantastic 8am breakfast in the quaint dining room on the first floor next to the kitchen. In addition to cearal, muffins, juice and fresh coffee, we also had french toast, scrambled eggs and bacon cooked to order. Best breakfast we had on our trip to CA and filled us up for our full days worth of driving. Not the cheapest place to stay at in town, but do yourself a favor and spoil yourself for at least one night here at the Olallieberry Inn.

We had hot weather, but our room was okay because we had a fan for our room. They may want to invest in ceiling fans for the rooms just in case it gets hot. The food was fantastic and the other guests were a great part of our trip. We met everyone during the wine and appetizers, so that was great too.

As usual, our stay at the Olallieberry Inn was delightful. There are few other B&B's that stack up with the Olallieberry ... anywhere. Marjorie and Dirk once again made us a wonderful breakfast, the wine and cheese hour was very pleasant, and the Cambria room we stayed in was immaculately clean and well appointed. One drawback this year ... and not the Olallieberry's fault ... is a severe shortage of potable water in Cambria that necessitated the installation of very-restrictive shower and faucet heads. We're not being selfish here ... just honest. It was difficult to take a good shower. Our prayers for all residents and businesses in Cambria are that the water shortage is somehow resolved for the benefit of all residents and businesses in the area. It's a pretty desperate situation for them to have to cope with. Without some resourceful solution, Cambria could be in serious economic difficulty. My fiance' and I came for a romantic getaway after tax season ended and arrived during the sunset at Moonstone Beach, we decided we wanted to elope, so we found rings at "Rich Man Poor Man" just up the street then an officient to come up from Pismo and between Hearst Castle Tours had a ceremony in the wind. Our suite was so tranquil and beautiful inside and we had a view of the creek down below. The breakfasts both days were incredibly delicious, we had to get the cookbook. The blueberry muffins were fluffy and light and the granola so good....the hospitality of the staff was warm and friendly. We plan to go back every year on our anniversary!

We stayed at the Olallieberry Inn on our recent Californian road trip. The Inn was lovely and being a group of English travellers, it was really nice to stay somewhere that had such a homely, authentic, feel to it. Marjorie and her staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Two highlights of note are the bedlinen which was sublime and also the lemon pancakes for breakfast which were truly delicious. Cambria itself was very picturesque and this part of the world has stolen our hearts and we will definitely be coming back!

Nice, clean, quiet place. Good breakfast in the morning and 5pm wine time. Frogs singing at night. Small cute garden where you can sit in a comfortable chair with a book. 3 min from down town with all coffee shops and restaurants. 15 min from Hearst Castle. 5 min from Moonstone Beach. The room was too small for 160 dollars price for night. Most annoying was the lack of a night stand on left side of the bed ( window) to place your small things like a book or watch or bottle of water.

Cute house and very close to main drag/shopping. The room was nice, the floor leaned so was a little wierd as it was at an angle, but got used to it. Nice owner made breakfast. Only complaint was there was no soap to wash hands or shower with.
I am confused as to the "no soap" as we try to be as green as possible and have a soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser on the shower wall and have foaming hand soap dispensers at the sink. We do have some bar soap available if people request it. Sorry if there was a problem, please just ask us next time and we will be happy to accomadate you. Kind Regards!

This was our 15th stay at the Olallieberry Inn. We obviously love it, we just keep on coming back. This time we brought two other couples with us and rented out the whole Innkeepers Cottage. We so enjoyed our time relaxing and enjoying the local sights and activities. It is always fun to get to know other guests during the evening social hour and over breakfast. It was a great pleasure to share our special place with our friends. I do believe that they are planning yet another getaway to the Olallieberry as soon as they can. The hosts and staff are always so welcoming and they meet my gluten free needs with a smile on their faces and I have never had an issue with being unintentionally "glutened", which if you have issues with gluten can be a real concern when you travel. We are looking forward to our next visit to our special getaway spot, our home away from home, The Olallieberry Inn.

My husband and I just needed a break from the stresses of teaching school, so we decided to go to Cambria for a long weekend. I remembered seeing the Olallieberry Inn as we walked along Main Street last time we were there, so decided to see if rooms were available. Luckily there was one left for our chosen weekend. We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so kind, and the other guests were delightful. It was a great room, clean and beautifully appointed. The breakfasts were gourmet, and the wine and cheese spread in the late afternoons was amazing. We will certainly be back. It was what we needed and more.

This was our third visit to the Olallieberry Inn. Marjorie, Marilyn Larry Dirk (sorry I didn't get the other names) are outstanding and do anything possible to make their guests come first. When we arrived it was after check in so our key was waiting for us with a note to pay in the morning. We arrived in our room, the Creekside Suite to find 2 fresh baked cookies and a birthday cake for my husband and some Dove bar squares. The next morning we arrived for breakfast and got a big hug from Marjorie. She is so warm and so what can I do for you? Marilyn does the massages I am still floating all these hours later, a must when you visit and Larry and Dirk are fantastic cooks! While we were chatting with a guest from the Food Network online, she mentioned that she had ricotta pancakes the day before. I knew this inn served them but we hasn't been lucky enough to ever enjoy them. That was all I had to say, we had them the next day and they were worth waiting for. I heard something about Pumpkin Brioche French Toast and that was made yesterday. They can't do enough for you. The Creekside Suite is very roomy but we think would be kind of tight for 4 it was great for the two of us. The bathroom was a nice size with a small counter to leave a few things on top. The shower had plenty of hot water but I would have liked a harder spray. I understand there is a water shortage in the area so perhaps these are water savers. No complaint really. the grounds are beautiful, very easy to sit outside (we had great weather) and just read and relax. I know there is a Wine and Cheese party at 4 but we were so busy we never made it. We have been before and it's always excellent. Marjorie always prepares something special. Also if unsure what to do in the area they are all great resources. If one needs a dinner recommendation they will also make a reservation for you.We love this place and will be back As I said we have been here for 3 times. Trust me you will enjoy every minute.

A great experience! The breakfasts were superb - eggs and either waffles or pancakes with all the trimmings. They have a complimentary evening wine and snack event in the lovely back yard too - great chance to meet other guests. My only complaint was that the Olallieberry room at the Olallieberry Inn advertised an antique iron bathtub big enough for two. Yes, but only if you take turns or are very very small people. But I am quibbling...this Inn is really great and we would stay there again for sure!

This was one of the lowest-priced places we stayed on a recent trip to California, but one of the best. If fact, it was a much better value than some places we paid $100 a night more for. This is the second Cambria B&B we have stayed at for our anniversary and it was better than expected. The Sunrise room was large with a great balcony and lots of woodsy like surroundings, cool breezes, and very relaxing. The breakfasts were unique, delicious, and served on time and the staff was very friendly. I really liked that you could walk to the east side shops and dining places within minutes of the B&B. I would return and recommend this place to everyone! My only complaints were tht the water pressure in the shower was really low and there was no TV .
4.6 on September 02, 2013
This is B&B as it should be. The hosts were warm and helpful, answered questions, recommended activities and restaurants, and even arranged an in-house massage (which was excellent). The happy hour nibbles and wine were delightful and afforded my wife and me a casual way to meet other travelers. But the best thing of all were two great breakfasts, beautifully prepared and served in a warm, family-type environment at an old trestle table. We would happily return.

My partner and I stayed at the Olalliberry Inn for two nights on our way to Sonoma, and it was absolutely lovely! The breakfasts were phenomenal and our room was very comfortable. The Inn itself was very close to town, which made it the perfect home-base for exploring the town of Cambria. We will definitely be back, and have already recommended it to all of our friends who are planning a trip up the coast!

Needed a lace to stay for one night in cambria, so we choose this place. Pleasant, but nothing special.

I've been to B&Bs all over California, and this is easily my favorite. Stayed in the Creekside suite, will stay there again. Friendly, happy staff, great food, great location!

My wife and I stayed two nights as we traveled up the coast. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The social hour was fun to visit with others staying at the inn. The breakfasts were amazing! We'll be staying here again!

at end of town from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to walk to shops and restaurants.

My husband and I booked our stay with two days notice and was pleasantly surprised to find such an amazing place! The room was very comfortable. We had our own private bathroom although ours was across the hall. The food was great. Staff was all very accommodating, friendly and warm. I mentioned I was gluten free when I booked and the owners/staff baked gluten free cookies for me each day of our stay. We both had a massage from Marilyn and it was great! One thing my husband didn't care for was how "flowery" everything was from the bedding, curtains, "too pink and flowery" for him. Could have just been our particular room. I didn't notice that much and loved the old Victorian style. We would definitely recommend it to anyone and will visit again!

We had a very enjoyable stay at Olalliberry Inn. We stayed two nights in the Angel's Nuk and enjoyed sitting outside in the garden and talking with others who were also staying at the Inn. The room was very spacious and we loved having a fireplace in the room. The breakfast was delicious! We had banana pancakes one morning and granola french toast the next! They give you plenty to eat and serve breakfast nicely timed once everyone is at the table. The location was in walking distance to downtown. I didn't realize there are two different ends of the town so we actually drove our car to the other end when trying to find a place to eat. We heard from a local that the other side of town, the restaurants aren't as pricey. Overall, a nice stay!

The wine and hor d'oeuvers served in the beautiful backyard garden in the early evening were absolutely delightful. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the company (the other guests) was interesting.

My sister and I chose the Olallieberry Inn and its Sunrise Room based on looking through the site's photo album and description. It was as special as it was described. Its wonderful manager, Dirk, was delightful, down to earth and happy to do what he could to make our stay special. The Inn has a beautiful, soothing garden. We met some lovely fellow travelers, had an exquisite night's sleep, a 5 star breakfast and left with a lovely feeling and wonderful memories. Who could ask for more! P.S. Try out Robin's restaurant in Cambria for the delightful garden, attentative owner and staff, exquisite food and special musical evenings. What a treat!

Delightful B. & B. Great location. Everyone at the Inn was welcoming, friendly, helpful and ensured we had a wonderful experience. Took family visiting from New Zealand and they will be talking about their stay for years. Loved chatting with other guests and joining in the evening wine tasting with lovely munchies and really good local wines. Décor of rooms a delight. Also really loved the wall paintings in the dining area. The Olallieberry jam with breakfast a really nice touch and the ginger scones - OUTSTANDING. Breakfasts totally unique and delicious. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Olallieberry Inn. The breakfasts were very good and the company even better. Wine & appetizers gave us a chance to meet other travelers which makes for an enjoyable time. The appetizers were minimal. We would stay here again if in the area. Easy walking distance to restaurants and cute shops.

Sunrise room was very nice, clean, and cozy, with a spacious balcony overlooking a wooded creek. The mattress was the most comfortable we have ever slept on. Staff was friendly, the wine & hors d'ouevres hour was nice - GREAT hors d'ouevres. Only drawback to mention is the breakfast was not very filling. We had a great time.
4.8 on July 24, 2013
We love staying here! Breakfasts are awesome and accommodating (even for Gluten-Free). The wine in the afternoon is a great touch. Only problem we had was in the sunrise room, the tempurpedic bed was loosing a bit of its luster, as the sides were way too soft, but the center seemed normal for a tempurpedic - may be time to change the mattress? Kind of wrenched my back a bit, but don't let that detract you from staying here - it really is a lovely place!

We were greeted by Debbie at our arrival and she offered us a nice tour of the property and our room. When asked about restaurants, she was extremely helpful in giving directions and information about places we might enjoy. We enjoyed the happy hour appetizers--very yummy! And the conversatoin with the other guests was relaxing. The Sunrise room was very romantic--nice and secluded with a great view. The sheets and the bed were the most compfy of any bed I've ever slept in at any hotel or B&B. The breakfast was great. I love the Ollalieberry syrup! All in all we loved it all!

Our stay with the gang at The Olallieberry Inn was over the top ! The staff and friends we met on our stay were the highlight! The breakfasts and evening wine time really " made the day" for us-- We wouldn't even consider any other B&B for our next stay!! Mardell & Gerry Jilka Santa Cruz, Ca.
5 on June 30, 2013
We enjoyed everything about Olallieberry Inn! The delicious breakfast, the wine and hors d'oeuvres in the beautiful garden as well as the very comfortable room were more than we hoped for. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

4.4 on June 07, 2013
I love this B&B. We stayed here for one night because we only had a couple of days for this trip. This is a historical house and it's just beautiful! I love the garden setting and took a lot of pictures. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We asked about good restaurants and they recommended some and even made the reservation for us. The breakfast and afternoon snacks are very good. We will definitely stay here again. We brought home the brochure to show our friends who are interested in coming down to Cambria for their own RR.

My husband booked the Olallieberry Inn as a birthday surprise. Upon our arrival, I was treated to a soothing massage by Marilyn and began our stay completely relaxed. We thoroughly enjoyed the Inn's evening happy hour when guests connect to share stories and suggestions while sipping wine and eating hors d'oeuvres on the deck overlooking the lovely garden. Marjorie facilitated my best birthday surprise to date and made dinner reservations at the Black Cat to complete a perfect day. We highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast for the superb hospitality and service, not to mention the delicious breakfast.
4.2 on May 10, 2013
The charming, well-maintained inn is on a very quiet section of the main street and is within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. We stayed ina ground floor room with lots of character and comfort. All the staff we encountered during our stay were welcoming and professional. The evening wine and cheese was lovely and the breakfasts satisfying and delicious. We would not hesitate to recommend the Olallieberry Inn.

We had a great 2 night stay in the creek side room which had a spacious sitting area, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. The staff was super nice and the food was delicious. The bed had memory foam that was quite comfortable. There was wine and cheese and snacks from 5 to 6 p.m. It would have been nice to have it a bit longer. The inn is walking distance to lots of restaurants. We'd definitely stay again.
4.2 on April 15, 2013
The room and bath facilities were simply great and the morning breakfast was like home with a big family with wonderful food. Although there is a very noisy bath fan below our room. It resonated in the building framework into our room and was on late into the night and again early in the AM leading me to believe it didn't work any better than ours. The sink drain also did not drain very well. If I stayed there again I would want a different room.
3.6 on April 10, 2013
Beautiful place to stay, very nice staff. Loved the sound of frogs in the evening when sitting in quaint backyard. Yummy breakfasts. Only drawback was the thin walls between rooms. Could hear neighbors muffled conversations....luckily that is all we heard;)

This was an absolutely great place to stay. The room exceeded my expectations but the service, food and drinks were outstanding. I would definately recommend this to my frined and family. Walking distance to town. Quiet, peaceful and a tranquil place to stay. Make sure you try it.

We had a nice ride up the coast to the place where we spent our 20th - the Olallieberry Inn. We were in the Sunrise Room and had a wonderful room and stay. If I had any complaint it would be that at breakfast, they are so efficient, that you feel a bit rushed. We are early risers so we take the early breakfast. The food was wonderful as was the company but it just felt as if they were rushed, taking into account their next breakfast group coming in. Otherwise, a great place to stay...

My boyfriend and I stayed here and absolutely fell in love with it! What a beautiful and charming B&B this is! Nestled on the east side of town, this B&B is close to all of the shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Sunrise room which is even more lovely in person! The room was spacious and comfortable. The innkeepers were very friendly and the grounds were immaculate. The happy hour was spent on the deck and offered light appetizers and wine. The breakfasts offered a vareity of options. The homemade granola is amazing! We definitely plan to come back.

I stayed two nights here with a friend recently, and it couldn't have been more wonderful. The room was adorable and cozy (they sheets they have on the beds are AMAZING), the breakfast was absolutely delicious, the staff were wonderful, and the other guests were a joy to meet. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
4.6 on January 17, 2013
We stayed in the cottage for 2 nights. The room was immaculate but a little small. There was room for a bedside table on one side of the bed but not the other. The beds and pillows are the foam variety so if that's not something you like this might not be the place for you. However, if you like plentiful, delicious breakfasts you should consider this B+B. Also if you've never had olallieberry syrup, jam or yogurt you'll want to stop here.

My husband and I were married at the Olallieberry Inn on Friday, December 21st, 2012, and it could not have been more perfect! We were treated so kindly, the inn is just gorgeous and our room was perfect. The entire staff was so welcoming and gracious, the food was absolutely outstanding, the staff referred my husband and I to the most perfect officiant for our wedding, I can't say enough good things about our stay. We will be back! :)

My husband and I recently stayed in the Angel Room. It was one of the smaller rooms, but was big enough for our two night stay. The attached bathroom was large and we could both be in there without bumping into one another. The walls are thin, making it easy to hear your neighbors or the doors opening and closing. However, this is not surprising considering the buildings are old. The breakfasts were delicious! A little light on the protein, but the flavor of the homemade scones, danish, pumpkin pancakes and french toast made up for the small serving of eggs. Service was fantastic. Our coffee cups were never empty and Marjorie asked us if we needed reservations for dinner and called the restaurant for us. She even sent us on our way each day with scones or danish. Lovely time.

We stayed over Thanksgiving and it was wonderful - the Harmony room was clean & comfortable, the fireplace warmed up the room nicely. We had the shower/bathroom across the hall but it was no problem to access. The food was spectacular, any request we had addressed immediately and even the other guests were warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

Marjorie, Anne and Dirk, Didn't have the good fortune in meeting Marilyn and Larry. But Marjorie, Anne and Dirk were the greatest hosts imaginable. We had a wonderful time. The Creekside Room was fantastic ... so warm and romantic. The other guests were friendly and interesting and the breakfast was delicious. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and from now on, the Ollieberry Inn will be our weekend home at least once every year (I hope a few times a year). Thank you for making our mini vacation to Cambria, one we will never forget.

Olallieberry Inn is a great place to stay, located about half-way between LA and San Fran on Hwy 1. It's also very close to Hearst Castle, a must-see on the scenic drive. Our room was very pleasant and lovely, and the big sunken tub was fantastic! We arrived in the early evening and were happy to be in time for the hors d'oeuvres hour, since we were very hungry and had some time before dinner reservations. The food definitely went above and beyond our expectations. Breakfast the next morning was so scrumptious, and it was one time I wished my stomach were a bottomless pit! The only draw-back to our stay was that there was a crying child in one of the rooms. While we both love children, and their crying doesn't tend to bother us, we were a bit disappointed since visiting a B&B is a quiet, relaxing time for a couple to get away together. I noticed on the website that the Inn does not have a 'no children' policy, which is great if you want to stay as a family, but perhaps not so great (sometimes) if you are looking to have a nice, romantic getaway as a couple.

We found the inn recommended in Frommers online. The location is perfect the gardens and rooms are beautiful, and the staff and owners are the icing on the cake. Wonderful happy hour snacks, and incredible breakfast. I cannot recommend The Olallieberry Inn enough! We will be back and will absolutely recommend to others visiting Hearst Castle or driving the PCH.

We had the good fortune to stay at the Olallieberry Inn while driving up the coast from LA to San Francisco. It was the perfect spot to stop and take in the Central Coast. The Inn is beautifully maintained, the gardens lovely and relaxing. Breakfast was AMAZING! One possible drawback (but not for us) is the absence of television in the room. The gas fireplace more than made up for that. Highly recommended.

We were only able to stay one evening, but it was great. We and our friends arrived late and found a note on the front door instructing how to enter and find our keys. The rooms were not spacious, but certainly big enough. The king sized bed was huge. There were Dove chocolates, fresh oatmeal cookies and cold water waiting for us. The location is excellent, only a short walk from the town. The Inn was quiet and we slept well. Breakfast the next morning was served by Margie (?) who was very gracious. The food was all great. We highly recommend the historic Olallieberry Inn!

Very nice and friendly. We did not arrive until late (9 PM) and then had to leave early in the morning (9 AM). Because of this, about all we had time to do was sleep, eat and run. The Breakfast was delicious and the staff very nice and friendly. So please keep in mind that I may well have rated some items higher if our experience had lasted longer. Cambria is a wonderful quaint little town not too far from the Hearst estate. I wish we had had more time to spend here. My apologies to the proprietors for not being able to give a more in depth and accurate evaluation. I would recommend this Inn to people who can stay longer than we did and enjoy the things we might have missed by the brevity of our stay.

Booked this B&B for a visit to Hearst castle, and ended up having one of the most enjoyable B&B experiences in a long time. The location is very good, and walking distance to restaurants and shops in Cambria. The house is one of the oldest in the town and is exquisitely decorated. Breakfast and service are very good. I recommend the Olallieberry Inn wholeheartedly to all!

My fiance and stayed her for two nights (Friday & Saturday) in May, 2012 and we will definitely be back. This place was amazing from the bed to the food. Marjorie and Larry were extremely hospitable and had great suggestions on where to go and what to see in Cambria. The place has a very homey feeling and was Excellent! They serve wine and appetizers in the afternoon and the breakfast was great. I think the best part was the service that we received. My fiance forgot his watch when we left Sunday morning and they called us within 10 minutes after leaving so we could swing by to pick it up. I would give this place six stars if I could! Thank you Olallieberry Inn!!!

After seeing Hearst Castle, we stopped in Cambria to stay at this B + B due it it's fine reputation and all of the positive comments posted about it on the web. It was very nice and the fellow who was the host, Dirk, was extremely helpful with lots of information about the area and trivia, too. He prepared a breakfast that could not be beat and we were on our way to our next destination.

Our stay here was lovely, beautiful rooms and garden and so fun to mingle with the other guests. Wine and appetizers were nice but get there quickly because they do not refill food once it runs out and on some items there is not a lot to begin with. I missed out on a corn salsa that looked amazing but I will never know. It's from 5 to 6 and I got there at 5:10 and missed it! Also was a bit disappointed in the breakfasts which are included in the price and so I feel they should be amazing and something I wouldn't typically make at home. We stayed there two days and the first day was fruit, orange juice and some type of danish - that part was fine and the same every day. The main meal was scramble eggs and banana pancakes. Although they were good, it wasn't very exciting. The next day was was more eggs and salsa and beans (which don't always work when traveling with others) and tortillas. I guess they do not cook any type of meat which I feel they should note on their website but I could have lived with that if they had eggs florentine or eggs benedict even without the meat but with tomatoes and avocado or something or even some type of potatoes. I just left there feeling very unfulfilled and unsatisfied in that area. I felt they were trying to make the easiest cheapest thing they could think of which is a shame because it will prohibit me from going again or recommending to others. They do make some amazing cookies though!

The Ollallieberry Inn is a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I were on our "baby-moon" and just loved our expereince there. The staff was kind and sweet, the rooms were lovely, and the breakfast was fantastic! I've had a hard time sleeping due to the wonderful weight gain that comes with pregnancy, but I slept like a log at the inn! the beds were so comfortable and the sheets were super soft. We loved eating breakfast with the other guests and enjoyed the afternoon cheese & crackers. It was nice to sit out back and enjoy the serenity of the garden. The best part was that we parked when we arrived and didn't touch our car until we left - we could walk all through cambria from the inn. Cannot recommend this place enough.

What a pleasant surprise. We loved this quaint inn. We would suggest staying in a room in the detached building. We stayed in thr Angel Nook. Very quiet. There are 2 other rooms with separate bsths in this building that are larger. Very nice. The innkeepers weee so friendly. Breakfast was a feast. Each morning we had homemade cinnamon rolls, French toast with homemade bread and scrambled eggs. Can hardly wait to come back.

Our stay couldn't has been better. All phases were outstanding. We will definitely return.

We managed to be here during the scarecrow month and had a wonderful time checking them all out. The OI was a wonderful B&B, close to dining and shopping with scarecrows of its own. The room was so spacious and comfy, the proprietors gracious and fun!

My wife and I have been coming to this charming B & B since 2001 for our anniversary. Needless to say the overall service, food and price are exceptional, especially for what you get. The rooms are clean and quaint. The food is exceptional. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. We look forward to coming back each year and have stayed in every room, except the two that don't have bathrooms in the rooms. I like quaint but I also like comfort!!

The bed was incredible: the linens where special. The gardens where beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. The hosts were lovely. The location was perfect. What more can I say?! I brought friends from abroad to experience an American bed and breakfast in a stretch of the beautiful California coastline and this place fit the bill! You can't come to Cambria without Olallieberries being part of your stay!

I stayed at Olallieberry Inn to celebrate the new year 2012. I wanted something that was cozy and personal rather than a chain motel. Olallieberry was that and more. Very personable staff and owners.

We would have rated some areas higher except that we have been here before and expected what we got. Value was ok, but could have been about $50 less for the night and been closer to my idea of a good deal. Regardless we will be back again.

My first time at a B&B and I couldn't have been happier. Great beds, wonderful breakfast and excellent service. Really treat yourself and have the Lomi Lomi massage.

Our stay was great. The property was very quaint. The hospitality made it all come together as a great overall experience. I will recommend the Inn to my friends and family.

We have had the pleasure of staying in dozens of B&B's around the USA and the UK. This is a nice place but wouldn't rank in our top 20. Granted we stayed here close to Haloween but the creaking floors from the room above us were a major disruption to our night's sleep.

Great breakfast, friendly host, attractive garden. WiFi did not work; otherwise all was excellent.

Althoug we only stay one night at the Olallieberry Inn, we would definatly return for a longer stay. We enjoyed cozy room and recommended dinner at the Mandeline's. Also, we enjoyed the pie an olallieberry pie at Lynn's accorss the street "it is the best". I would highly recommend this place.

Wonderful time - Dirk met us at the door and gave us an immediate your. Besides being fun and courteous his cooking is wonderful. The breakfast the he and Marge presented us with was memorable - waking up to the aroma of fresh scones cooking was a great surprise. AND they were as special as they looked!!!! It was our 40th anniversary and this stay was great - we will be back. Thanx Marge and all - - - - Rick and Ruth Ann Runyon

This was one of several b&bs we stayed in on our visit to the Central Coast. It was everything the good reviews had already said: a peaceful garden for a quiet wine and conversation, excellent location around the bend from the shops and restaurants, close to some nice walks up the hill, and interesting conversation with folks from various professions at the breakfast table.

This was our fourth trip to ollalieberry inn and it was as warm and inviting as always. The rooms are cozy, the property is beautiful, the food is amazing and they have thus spoiled all other B and B experiences. Nowhere holds a candle to the Ollalieberry!

I have never stayed in a Bed and Breakfast before this, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was very cozy and charming! The innkeepers were very accommodating!

The place is delightful. From the quilts on the bed to the lamps on the tables the old victorian charm flows in every detail. The breakfast was great. You don't want to miss the walnut/maple scones. Olallieberry syrup and preserves was plentiful on the table too. The only thing we did not like was not having more time to spend at this great location.

Like walking into a picture book of the Big Sur's best inns and B&B's. We arrived just in time for wine & appetizers. Was greeted by staff that was so helpful & friendly. They recommended a great restaurant for dinner and even made our reservation! Enjoyed the fireplace, a hot bath, and the incredibly comfortable sleep on the Sleep Solutions mattress (the Angels' Nook). Then, to wake up and get to go to the scrumptious breakfast....what more could you ask for?

Marjorie and the Staff at the Ollalieberry Inn, Jennette and I were so glad to be able to stay at your Inn Saturday night, 8-20-11. The house and gardens were gorgeous and the Cambria room was comfortable and cozy. Ann recommended the Sow's Ear for dinner, we followed that recommendation and had a wonderful dinner there. Breakfast was SO good Sunday morning. We loved the peach danish and I particularly liked the yogurt and granola. We did not leave for home hungry! Thank you so much for your hospitality and for helping make our anniversary celebration a success! We have recommended your Inn to many friends and relatives already and we will definitely be back! Sincerely, Casey and Jennette Ventura, CA

Arrival in the evening: The buildings were very well taken care of, beautiful vintage style and decorated with very nice taste. Appetizers laid out on a table in the garden patio. Freshly made dips that were delicious! Fresh cut vegetables and crackers as well as two tasty wines. The garden actually contained an Olallieberry plant!! There were fresh herbs growing on the top level of the patio that were used in the food, making the flavors remarkable! There were bench areas facing toward the creek that ran behind the main house. Our room was in a separate extension with its own entrance. The garden was very well kept and relaxing to sit and sip on a drink. The atmosphere was peaceful and refreshing. The rooms were quiet and comfortable with a very homey feel. The sheets were so very soft (microfiber). They had the mold to your body foam mattresses (Tempurpedic) In the room was its own private bathroom, spotless and clean! Fresh robes hung in the wardrobe closet and the room had its own thermostat which we didn't need to use as there was also a gas lit fireplace (no mess!!) in the room which made the lighting so romantic and relaxing. To top the experience, next to the bed were Journals dating back to 1995 with pages of people who shared their experiences. We of course had to leave our comments there as well. In the morning: Breakfast was hand made by the owners and served at a specific time in the morning. The meal was fresh and tasted great! The owners were friendly and hospitable and the dining style was with the other residents so the atmosphere was fun and enjoyable. There was fresh coffee station and an area for cereals and fruit. The experience is one we will never forget. A perfect start to our new lives together as a newly married couple.

This was my second stay at the Inn. The first time was a few years ago. It was even better than I remembered. On my prior stay I was with my husband for a romantic getaway. This trip was supposed to be a girls trip with my mother and sister. My sister was unable to go so Mom and I had the whole suite to ourselves. I few days before I arrived I met a man that had lived tehre as a child. Then found an entry in the journal from his sister. Really neat to get their impression of what has been done at the inn. All very favorable Marjorie adjusted the bill (I did not expect that at all)to reflect two guest instead of three. The food was outstanding. Loved the stuffed french toast -would be a great dessert. I have already started planning another stay with my husband. It is the best B and B I have stayed at. I can hardly wait for my next trip.

My daughter and I stayed at the Ollaliebery Inn for the second time. As usual, it is a perfect location for walking to dinner. We stayed one night when we toured Hearst Castle. It's only about 10 - 15 minutes away. We had a great experience at this B&B. Breakfast was excellent, and we got a good recommendation to eat at Madeline's restaurant for dinner. The room was very nice. Thanks!

We are from the eastern US and had never been to this area of California before. Didn't really have a clue where to stay while visiting the Hearst Castle and the surrounding vicinity. This place was a great find. Good location, walking distance to a number of restaurants, etc in Cambria and an easy drive to San Simeon. The rooms and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was made with good quality ingredients and well presented. Larry was friendly and helpful. They serve complementary wine and tasty snacks from 5-6pm on the back porch/deck. It's just a very pleasant place to stay.

I have stayed at many B & B's, the Upham in Santa Barbara is one of my favorites and I have to say that this place was better. The food they served was fantastic, the people that run the place are friendly and warm, very accomodating. We stayed here after our visit to "the castle". My girlfriend made the tongue in cheek comment, "if this place were any cuter, I wouldn't be able to stay here." It is within walking distance of resturaunts and shops. The grounds were well kept and nicely laid out. The breakfast was very nice, and unlike most B&Bs - they put some real effort into cooking it. The people who run it were friendly and helpful. If I drive down the coast, I'm likely to stay here again.

My fiance and I stayed here over the July 4th weekend. Great food and hospitality. Nice "happy hour" in the back yard full of flowers. It was a nice place...we stayed in the cottage, and it was clean, comfortable and quiet. Check-in was fine, but the intro tour of the facility and our room was a bit rushed. Breakfast was okay, but the company was better. We chatted with some very nice folks at the picnic table next to the kitchen. If you go....do not miss Robin's Restaurant....a meal that will make your trip memorable!! www.robinsrestaurant.com

My husband and I love when we have the opportunity to stay at a B&B during our travels. We were driving down from SF, with our ultimate destination of Las Vegas and wanted a perfect in-between stop for a few days of R&R. He'd heard of Cambria because of the Hearst Castle, and I took charge to look for a lovely B&B. The reviews were stellar so I couldn't help but book our 2-night stay with Olallieberry. What can I say? I hope to go back again. I loved the hors d'oeuvres and wine hour in the evening; it was a great way not only to taste some amazing local wine, but to get to know fellow travellers in a nice and easy setting. We had lovely conversations and great dinner recommendations, which continued the next morning at the breakfast table. Speaking of breakfast.... Yummy! From a NYCer that has traveled and eaten at a lot of establishments, no one has anything on Larry's cooking! If you find yourself in Cambria and looking for a warm, charming place to stay, you will not be disappointed with Olliaberry.

We were looking at Cambria as a possible place to retire to and the stay at the Olallieberry Inn made the task effortless! The staff was so helpful, making reservations, pointing out the beautiful moonlight beach, and checking to see that we had everything we needed. The inn was charming, just like the town itself.

We were looking for a place to get away for a long weekend and also to celebrate my birthday. I read two travel books and stumbled upon a town called Cambria. Olallieberry Inn was recommended by the two travel books I read: 1. Lonely Planet - titled "Coastal California" and 2. "Backroads of the California Coast" - Your guide to scenic gateways and adventures. I decided to visit its website to look at the pictures, check out the location and listen to video presentation by Marjorie. I was taken in by all these promotions that I immediately told my husband that I had found the place for our long weekend. We were so pleased with everything they offered especially their food and their friendliness. We will definitely come back in the future.

My girlfriend and I spent a 3 day getaway at Olallieberry Inn based on the reviews online. This establishment is run by some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. That along with breakfast far beyond what you would normally get. And one last thing. First time I slept on a memory foam mattress. Much more comfortable that I imagined with the added benefit that dust mites and bedbugs don't like them ;)

The Olallieberry Inn is a charming B&B with really nice hosts. Our room (At the Top) was comfortable and clean. The food (cookies, afternoon snacks & breakfast) was good, but not exceptional. We have stayed at B&Bs in other towns and in comparison have experienced better value for the money.

The best part was the 5:00 wine and snacks where we met the most wonderful people. Breakfast was, also, a great place to talk with the other guests and the food was delicious, more than I expected. I would definitely recommend the Olillieberry to friends!

A friendly welcome, and San Simeon was our ground floor room. Wasn't keen on the glass bathroom door (ensuite, but some things I like to keep private!) and the bathtub certainly wasn't big enough for two! Excellent wine, cheese, dips, etc. served at 5pm on the deck, with a chance to meet other guests. A short walk to plenty of restaurants - we would recommend Robin's for atmosphere, service and excellent food. Breakfast was in two sittings - 8am or 9.15, and we chose the early one - excellent food, but did feel rather rushed for the table to be cleared for the next sitting. Despite some negative comments, we would recommend this place.

Good breakfast, best yogurt and beans I ever tasted! No meat offered but plenty to eat. Pastries were good but juice was from concentrate. Pillow was flat as a pancake and unless you count the shams we only had one per person so you couldn't double up. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and even though we were right on the road we really didn't hear any traffic. We were downstairs and could hear every footstep from upstairs but it didn't keep us awake. No TV or refrigerator in the room. Gas fireplace worked great.

The Olallieberry is a charming old house turned B & B. The bed was very, very comfortable (nice linens) and the bathroom was spacious. The house is old, so our room had quite a downward tilt by the window, and the water temp in the shower fluctuated quite a bit. If you like everything new and perfect, this wouldn't be the place for you. But it has charm and personality. The innkeepers are exceptionally personable and treat you like long lost friends. The breakfast is fabulous. Trust me, you WILL overeat because it's all fresh, homemade and scrumptious. The coffee could be stronger for our tastes, but they had it ready for early risers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Inn is in a beautiful spot, quite location yet very close to town. It is an easy walk to all parts of Cambria West. Marjorie and Larry serve a wonderful breakfast and it easy to join in conversations at the family style seating. The same friendly atmosphere is experienced at the evening wine and cheese serving. Oh, and it is a perfect spot to get married. The hosts love to make your day very special.

This was our second visit to the Olallieberry Inn in Cambria CA. Marilyn, Marjorie, Larry, Dirk and Margarita are the best. What warm wonderful people who can't do enough to make your stay both at their inn and in Cambria a wonderful experience. The rooms are all charming, most have private bathrooms, some overlook the back yard which is beautifully landscaped and the creek below can always be heard. We stayed in the Sunrise room which is in the smaller house, not in the main house. It seems to be quieter. The Sunrise Room has a nice bright airy feeling. A bonus is the outside private porch overlooking the creek. The breakfasts are just wonderful. I especially love the fruit with Olallieberry Yogurt, and the home made Granola. The Danish and scones are home made and not heavy like one finds in bakery prepared items. The egg dishes are great and Marjorie explains each dish with such enthusiasm. When we were there, one of the guests had a dietary issue and Marjorie made him something he could eat, without batting an eye. Nothing is too much for the staff to be accomodating. They really go out of their way. One can tell all of the staff love what they do. The appetizers in the afternoon are also wonderful. I would prefer a better wine selection and wine from the Paso Robles area. (local) Sitting outside sipping wine in the beautiful gardens and hearing the creek from below just add to the already great ambiance. Just wonderful caring people who love what they do and it shows. For a very special treat be sure to book a massage with Marilyn. That lady has real talent. I will always book a massage when staying here, it's a must! The massage is given in the reception room but closed off and very private when getting a massage. It's very special. Stay here you will not be sorry.

We love the Olallieberry Inn. This was our 5th stay and each time it has been a relaxing and memorable stay. We always look at the other B & B's in town - but come back to the Olallieberry! Great room, garden and Marjorie is a wealth of information about the area.

Marjorie and Larry made sure our stay at the Olallieberry Inn was a memorable one. Fresh oatmeal cookies on arrival! Couldn't make it for the happy hour, so Marjorie put aside a lovely plate for us to enjoy later. Breakfast spread was amazing (creme brulee french toast!), and since our stay fell on Christmas, Marjorie put out little holiday treat baskets to greet us in the morning. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

My wife is a very busy woman, she has a full time job, and has an intership 3x a week, she is completing her Masters, and is also pregnant so she needed some serious downtime plus it was her birthday that weekend. This place was awesome, gave us some private time to ourselves, had a little picnic and also got her a 1 hour massage. It was worth the every minute of it!!

We look forward to a few days of rest & relaxation after the Christmas holidays at the Olallieberry Inn every year. The owners & staff are gracious and always provide a warm & welcoming environment, as well as one of the best breakfasts you will ever have.

Everything had a limit. A note welcome up to 2 glasses of wine. Cocktail hour had dip, a spread and a chees mix all out of a container. Very minimal from the room to the service.

We have stayed at the Ollalieberry at least 20 times, and that says it all. It is romantic, peaceful and scenic, in a wonderful little town (Cambria) on the beautiful Central Coast. The owners are delightful and cannot do enough to make one's stay the perfect experience, whether it is reservations, shopping and sightseeing suggestions, or a little treat in one's room. Not the fanciest or most exotic, certainly - But they aren't trying to be the Ritz-Carleton; That's not what they are about. The Ollalieberry is simply the best, however, at providing a relaxing, romantic, personalized vacation or weekend getaway.

We needed a quiet weekend away from a stressful family situation and found it here. Thanks to friendly Marjorie who we met and all others for a great weekend with tasty breakfasts and a relaxing wine and hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon. The bed was comfy, too, and we will gladly return.

I was here for three nights, and had such a magical experience! Marjorie was such a sweetheart, and introduced us by our name when we checked it. How friendly! The breakfast was to die for; they make the BEST french toast and sticky buns! All in all, I highly recommend this B&B for people who want to get away for a bit and relax!

We had previously stayed at Olallieberry Inn and had remembered the delicious breakfast and evening tea time. We were visiting the area with another couple who also stayed at the Inn. The only draw back was that there was no sitting room to spend time with our friends in the evening when it was too cool to be outside.
4.8 on August 17, 2010
We loved every part of our stay...from wine, appetizers in the afternoon, cookies & tea, then an awesome breakfast in the morning....to the amazingly comfortable bed! Service could not have been more pleasant or accomodating. Our bath, while private, could have been more modern...but after all, it IS an old house, and the town has a severe water shortage.

3.0 on August 11, 2010
this B&B was nice, but there were two problems: 1) all breakfasts served are vegetarian. I think it would be fine had we known, but there is no indication of this fact revealed during the registration process. 2) while our room was advertized as having a private bathroom "20 steps down the hall" what they don't tell you is that to get to the bathroom, you have to walk through the dining room.

3.0 on August 04, 2010
This is more like an Inn with several rooms and a small sitting area combined with the breakfast room. The outside area is the best for relaxing and meeting the other guests who were all very nice, making for pleasant breakfast conversation. In fact, we had dinner one night with one couple and toured Hearst Castle with another. We were served a delicious gourmet breakfast and wine with hors d'ouerves each afternoon. Our room (Sunrise) was in the separated guest house, spacious and quiet with a nice sized, standard equipped bathroom. The mattress was comfortable, not plush. Other guests said they had wonderful memory foam mattresses. I was disappointed in the synthetic (not feather-filled) pillows and low thread count sheets. The quilted bedspread is too heavy to leave on all night and landed on the floor. Everything was comfortable but not luxurious so I can't give this more than a "met my expectations" rating. I usually stay in B&Bs when I travel and this ranks along with many other lovely places, but I can't really say that my expectations "were exceeded" because I expect a high level of comfort in this kind of lodging.
5 on August 04, 2010
Stop looking at other options for this area and book your room at the Olallieberry Inn right now. It's a futile effort to even try and find something that is more homey, welcoming, charming, and perfect as Olallieberry Inn. You'll be blown away by Marjorie's breakfasts (especially her breakfast breads!) and need to take home her cookbook of recipes she uses at the Inn. In all seriousness, the staff at Olallieberry Inn are out of this world wonderful and made you feel like you were visiting family. There is no doubt that we will be returning to the Inn with as many of our friends as we can convince to join us!

Afternoon wine and snacks give a relaxing time to meet other guests. Morning breakfast is very well done with excellent choices and service. Also great for meeting and conversing with the others. I wish they had a common room with a sitting area and maybe a t.v. and a morning paper. The back patio and gardens do have tables and chairs for a comfortable afternoon and evening gathering. Nice to be within walking distance to a wide variety of choices for dinning. They also should have ice available. I'd go again.

I purchased a 2010 cook books for my wife and four of my business associates wives. They were thrilled with the great recipes in the book. I agree there is not a better cook book on the market. My associates wives, within a week, had thanked me with the best pastries I have ever eaten from recipes from the cook book.. I would suggest every one who like great food buy a cook book. My husband and I stayed at the Olallieberry Inn for the two nights we visited Cambria. The owners, and your hosts, Marjorie, Larry and Marilyn run one of the most wonderful B&B's we've ever stayed in. You will love the quaint rooms, the beautiful gardens, and the wonderful evening snacks and scrumptious breakfasts!! Did I mention the breakfasts - fabulous!!!!! Their staff is also fantastic; helping to assure that your stay at the Olallieberry Inn will make you want to hurry back for another visit!

We always stay at the Olallieberry Inn when in Cambria and stay in the "heavenly" Angel's Nook room. Evening treats are delicious and the breakfasts, always outstanding! The innkeepers and staff are friendly, courteous and knowledgable about the area and always helpful. Absolutely the best inn on the coast!

The staff is over-the-top friendly and helpful. They greet you by name and help you with any and all details you need to know. If you want to know the best place to eat, they will have ideas for you based upon what type of food you would like to eat. They will even get on the phone and make the reservation. You will go away wanting more and feeling like family.

This was probably one of the more stressed out B&B stays I've had. The Innkeepers were not as easily accommodating and seemed a tad bit inflexible/rushed. We tried to reschedule breakfast on a day I was not feeling well and was initially told a curt "no" by the innkeeper. He later "squeezed us in" to a crowded later breakfast, but I felt like we were made to feel as if we were inconveniencing him. We do not recommend this Inn for folks who are more easy going and want to have a relaxed stay. Seems okay for folks who are more type A and operate on a strict schedule. Also, the showers for our room were a bit cramped and the room a bit warm and stuffy. Otherwise, okay stay. Not sure if we're coming back.

Can't complain about this place. The breakfasts are delicious (and all vegetarian it seems, 3 of 3 at least). There's a 5pm wine and snack reception everyday in case you happen to be around at that time. When you check in there are fresh baked cookies on your bed and chocolate on your night stand. And a cream sherry night cap every night... who knew I liked sherry? The town is very nice. Note: most restaurants are closed on 4th of July so plan accordingly. And there's a giant redwood tree in the front yard!

We loved the Olallieberry Inn from the moment we arrived. The service was very personal and thoughtful. Our room was on the second floor of the main house, with a large private bathroom in the hall. I believe all of the rooms have private baths, some in the room. Breakfast was WONDERFUL every morning. Our favorite was the cranberry orange souffle with orange syrup; also loved Margerie's homemade peach danishes. The gardens were absolutely gorgeous when we visited over 4th of July weekend -- so many colors and different types of flowers, and a lovely creek flowing behind the property with frogs that we could hear in the evening. We would definitely stay again and are actually considering renting the entire place for our wedding guests next summer, as Cambria is everything we want in a wedding locale -- small, walkable, great food & wine, nice people, near the beach, and full of interesting art and shops.

Wonderful garden setting. Breakfast was inventive and tasty. Lodging was quiet even though our room faced the parking lot and street.

My husband and I only stayed one night but it was worth it. I called prior to our stay and late check in was available even though it is not stated on the website. They were willing to accommodate our late arrival. The room was spacious and we had our own bathroom. The actual home was beautifully decorated. The backyard was well maintained and you can sit down and take in the cool breeze with complimentary local wine and snacks. The breakfast was outstanding. Each part of the meal was explained and served. Staff was courteous and willing to point you in the right directions or make dinner reservations. I would recommend this inn to all I know.

This was my first stay at a B&B. I could not have enjoyed myself more! The service was impeccable. Marjorie is a sweetheart, and I felt as is she were an old friend. There are no words to describe the breakfast. It was AMAZING. The rooms are beautiful and just darling, not to mention amazingly comfortable. Next time, we will opt for a room with a king size bed. The wine and appetizers were so good, and we really enjoyed meeting all the other guests. Cambria is a lovely town. We could not have asked for a nicer experience!

The Olallieberry Inn was just what we needed: perfect location within walking distance of shops and restaurants, delicious breakfast and happy hour, quiet and relaxing garden, comfortable rooms and kind, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Perfect!

The Olallieberry Inn is the perfect place to stay if you want a secluded romantic getaway. Nestled against the trickling Santa Rosa Creek this bed and breakfast provides lovely scenery and wonderful gourmet breakfasts. We stayed in the spacious innkeepers cottage, in the Creekside Suite the bed was amazingly comfortable, and the surroundings warm and inviting. With the beautiful Cambria as its backdrop this Inn does not boast when it speaks of it's lovely rooms, scrumptious breakfasts and exemplary service they are merely speaking the truth. I highly recommened this bed and breakfast to ANYONE. It is the only one I will EVER stay in.
5 on April 26, 2010
My husband surprised me with a visit to this B and B. Everything was perfect. The ambience, the people who own the B and B, the surroundings and the food were all outstanding. If you can be sure to book a massage with Marilyn. It was the best one I have ever had. This inn is extremely clean and well kept. We enjoyed our visit so much that we booked again for our next anniversary. You can't go wrong here.

What a pleasant and wonderful experience our first time to a Bed and Breakfast was! Check-in was the easiest experience (thanks to pre-paying on line with a B&B gift card, was a bit pricey though). Loved the wine and snacks waiting for us when we arrived. The yard was peaceful and relaxing and was able to put the worries aside even for just a little while. We stayed in the Cambria room where the bed was comfy and warm. A bit noisy when people were entering and exiting the house but thankfully it didn't last long. We were warmly greeted by the inkeepers Marjorie and Larry the next morning and served a wonderful breakfast of ricotta pancakes. (My husband loved them enough that I had to come home and find the recipe!) All and all a very pleasant stay and we will definitely visit again!

We had an amazing time at the Olallieberry Inn for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The staff was so friendly and hospitable. Marjorie was so kind and an awesome baker/cook!! It is such a charming home and even the outside garden and grass area in the back reminded my husband of his upbringing in Missouri, especially the lovely sounds of the Santa Rosa Creek and birds, etc.For our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast,we were not disappointed. We stayed in the San Simeon room and really liked the room. My husband really liked the antique armoire in the room, as it was very unique. We met some amazing people over our 3 night stay, during breakfast and the hors d'oeuvres hour. 3 nights was perfect, but wished we could've stayed just one more, but our stay had to end and we had to get home to our 3 kids! We really liked it and are recommending the Olallieberry to all of our friends and family who visit Cambria. We definitely want to stay here, again, on future visits to Cambria! OH, and the ricotta pancakes were DELICIOUS, especially with the Olallieberry syrup...YUMMY!!!!

My husband and I just returned from 3 glorious nights in Cambria, Ca. We met the most wonderfully friendly people from all over the U.S. staying at the Inn. The hosts are generous and warm. The food was divine. Breakfast was absolutely delicious-gourmet favorites and all home made from scratch. Some of the rooms were small and had a seperate bathroom, but it was your own bathroom that you kept locked. The Inn is beautifully maintained, very clean, and you are made to feel right at home. Highly recommend it, very well decorated for the holidays too!!!

Wow!! This was my and my hubby's first trip to a bed and breakfast. We thought we might be a bit young for the a B & B ( we're in our mid twenties) Boy, were we wrong! It was absolutely amazing from the time we stepped in the door. The wine hour is to die for. Great wines and scrumptions appetizers. The baked brie especially! The room ( We stayed in the San Simeon) was super clean and cozy. Words cannot describe how good Dirk's breakfast was. My hubby will never be happy with my cooking again :) Thanks for such an amazing Anniversay weekend at your inn! I can't rave enough about this place. P.S. The Olallieberry Recipe book is well worth it. I've already baked several of the recipes in there and they are all outstanding!!

Olallieberry Inn is our favorite place to stay when we come to Cambria! It's like visiting family! There are always smiles to greet you, along with the wonderful aroma escaping from the kitchen. Questions about where to dine, what to do, where to go or what is happening in town..... Our lovely Innkeepers were there to help and even make your dinner reservations. The service is wonderful, the Inn is beautiful, the food is delicious and you are made to feel at home. You meet people from near and far as you visit over breakfast or afternoon Hors d'oeuvres in the dining room, finding out that some come back to enjoy the Inn and the hospitality of the Innkeepers as much as you do. Needless to say it's our favorite place to stay in Cambria! Thanks so much, Marjorie, Marilyn & Larry!!!

This was only our second visit to the Olallieberry Inn but it was like returning home to a place where you are remembered, where memories are made and you can't wait to wake up to your favorite breakfast (and hot-out-of-the-oven cookies at 3). It's a place to meet new people and where the Inn keepers have always gone out of the way for us and we have always felt safe and cared for when staying there - just like home. We do have our favorite rooms and we are already planning our next visit. Pete and Rebecca Taylor

We contacted the Olalliberry Inn to inquire about having our wedding in their gardens. They responded enthusiastically and helped us put it all together in a very short period of time. When we arrived we were thrilled. The Inn and gardens were better than we could have hoped for. Our room was beautifully decorated, warm and cozy though large, and very clean. The staff paid attention to every detail, bringing champaign to our room was a nice touch . . . as were the special heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. Charming, clean, well appointed, great location, excellent food . . . I loved the Olallieberry Inn and look forward to returning for our 1st anniversary.

We were in Cambria for the Wine and Art festival. The weather was not the nicest and put a damper on the festival. In spite of the weather, it turned out to be one of the best B&B experiences we have had. The Inn was everything we expected and more. The food delicious, accomodations superb, and the hosts charming.

Margie and Larry took such good care of us. What a wonderful place to stay. Can't say enough good things about the breakfast...far exceeded our expectations.

Stayed at Inn Thanksgiving holiday. Our room in the carrigehouse was creekside, quiet, cozy and very clean. Service was exceptional. The food was a delight, exquisitely prepared and very tasty. Yard had wonderful foliage and plants. The innkeepers were joyous, cheerful and helpful. of many B&B's we have visited, Olallieberry Inn is one of the best overall. We promise ourselves many returns. Olallieberry Inn is a quaint inn located on the outskirts of Cambria, CA. You can walk to most antiques shops, galleries, and restaurants. A must see town and a must stay while planning a getaway weekend to Hearst Castle.
4.2 on December 11, 2008
So gracious are the hosts; we felt like family, those you choose, when we jointed the other guests on Thanksgiving evening. Only the food could have surpassed this ambiance, and it truly did!

This inn is very special. A great job by the owners and innkeepers to create a comfy, cozy hideaway that's just downtown. (As close as Cambria gets to a "downtown"!)

The overall experience my husband and I had was so awesome. The food was out of this world. I would recommend this to everyone!

We had a great weekend in Cambria and Hearst Castle- was a 'check' off my 'bucket list'
4.2 on December 01, 2008
Fresh oatmeal cookies and Dove chocolates in the room! If that isn't enough to entice you then how about a lovely cottage close enough to town to be able to walk to the shops but just far enough away from the hubbub to be restful and relaxing. Marjorie, the Innkeeper is very knowledgable and friendly. The food and portions were very good. On the sideboard they kept Olallieberry Tea, Coffee and the BEST instant hot cocoa that I have ever tasted. They had a lovely garden area out back and a good selection of books and games! I can't wait to get back to Olallie!

For my 30th birthday my girlfriend surprised me with a weekend trip to the Olallieberry Inn, and it was an amazing experience. Having never stayed at a B&B before, I wasn't sure what to expect but the staff made me feel right at home as if I was a guest staying in their house. We had the Harmony Room which has been updated since the picture on their site and was very cozy. As for the breakfast part, it was delicious. My favorite of the two meals I had was the French Toast with the olallieberry syrup. Oh, and they even made me a small birthday cake. How great is that. Overall, I could not have imagined a better experience and loved every minute of my stay at the Olallieberry Inn. Many thanks to Marjorie and Linda for their hospitality. (I didn't know what to rank the value because I didn't pay for the weekend.)

This is a top notch, lovely and clean place to stay if you're visiting the California central coast. We picked it "out of the blue" and were more than pleased with the spectacular gardens, professional innkeeper, and pretty rooms. Staying in the East Village of Cambria was nicer, too - a lucky fluke as far as we were concerned - but the West village is a little more "touristy". The Olallieberry Inn is truly a gem.
4.0 on June 07, 2008
Innkeeper Marjorie was wonderful, helpful, and gave us shopping discounts for shops in Cambria. Marjorie also gave complimentary wine tasting passes to other guests who were going wine tasting off of hwy 46. We had the angel nook room and while it was quaint it was a bit small. Late afternoon snacks and wine was another nice touch. Nice outdoor deck and places to sit outside as long as the weather is nice. Very limited space on the inside of the inn for hanging out if the weather is poor.

This was our first stay at a B&B. The Inn was decorated very nicely-felt very warm. We felt relaxed the moment we walked in. The Inn Keepers were very friendly and made us feel at home. We loved our room,"The Sunrise Room". We heard the birds singing and the frogs in the stream behind the Inn at night. The location is right on Main Strett, so we were able to walk to all of our meals. The Inn also serves a great breakfast!! Overall-a wonderful experience-we will come back!!

A 2 night stay at the Olallieberry Inn is nothing short of heaven, cozy Victorian charm, warm and welcoming hosts, and garden's to soothe the most city-weary soul. My fave thing: the frog chorus lulling us off to sleep.

This was our first time at a B&B and it was outstanding. The room was clean and charming in decor. The bathroom had been upgraded and was both clean and cheery. the food was gourmet and the backyard had a beautiful garden setting for sitting. Marjorie has a knack for remembering everyone's name and that made it even more personable. We'll definitely go back.

beautifully furnished room overlooking creek. splendid breakfast and cocktail fare. reasonably priced. outstanding b&b.
5 on January 03, 2008
My husband and I have stayed at the Olallieberry 5 times since January of 2005. I've yet to experience another b&b for fear I've been so completely spoiled by the wonderful hospitality, beauty, ambiance and food at the Olallieberry Inn. We've been in the winter and summer and during the holiday season and each time there's not a detail of decor that's missed. During our last visit just before Christmas for my husband's birthday the Inn was beautifully lit with lot's of cute little knick nacks and trinkets all over the inn and in each lovely room. If you can do it I recommend treating yourself to the Sunset room. We did for the first time and I can't tell you how wonderful it was. It has a wonderfully comfortable king bed with a warm fireplace and it overlooks the beautiful creek. I can't wait to return to this wonderful inn.
5 on December 04, 2007
We stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and had a fantastic time. This B&B was in a great location...only minutes walking distance from restaurants and shops. The rooms were decorated well and were very clean. The innkeepers were very friendly and accomdodating. The breakfast and hors d'oeuvres were delicious. It was great fun meeting other guests during breakfast and wine hour. They also had a great cream sherry that was available any time in the foyer. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

My wife and I have been going to this INN for 4 years at Thankgiving. It is really the home away from home with no dishes to do after dinner. They have a great group of people who treat you just like family. I could go no for ever about this place but you should go for your self to see what I mean. .

My daughter recommended we stay here on our way to San Jose. Wow! The staff made our overnight visit quite a memorable one, with a delicious gourmet breakfast to send us off happy the next morning. My wife and I have stayed at Olalleberry Inn more than a few times while visiting Cambria. It is a home away from home with very clean spacious rooms and a wonderful garden area in which to relax. The afternoon snacks are delicious and sometime take the place of dinner for us, which make it more than affordable! All in all it is the place to stay in Cambria!
5 on May 27, 2007
We returned for the second year and found the Olallieberry Inn just as warm and charming as last year. Highly recommended.
4.2 on May 24, 2007
We stayed there for 4 nights in the spring – before the summer crowds arrived. I rated the room as “Met Expectations” because it was accurately described on the web site. Unlike many places it wasn’t over sold. We found the bed to be quite comfortable. The Inn is easily within walking distance of all the shops & restaurants in East Cambria. The breakfasts were excellent and hearty; all the breads were fresh baked. Out of the 5 or 6 B&B’s we’ve stayed in over the last 3 years this one had the best breakfast. The afternoon wine and cheese was quite nice. We found that we usually sat down there talking to the other guests from shortly after 5:00pm till about 6:30pm then we would head out to dinner. The garden is pleasant to sit in and was a good place to relax, a deer and her fawn came bounding through one morning.
5 on May 23, 2007
If your priorities include a warm welcome, spotless accommodation in a quiet garden setting, freshly made high quality breakfasts, an environment where guests mingle and swap stories of their day’s discoveries, a host who loves the responsibilities of running a haven for travelers from near and far, or even all of these, you will find them in abundance when you stay at the Olallieberry. From the moment we arrived, the Olallieberry’s "family" made us feel welcome. Co-owner/host Marjorie Ott ("Marjorie" from the moment she says hello) is a jewel. You can’t say you’ve found a great Bed and Breakfast unless breakfast is also great. Suffice to say that Marjorie, Larry and company have been asked for their recipes so often, they have just produced a beautiful cookbook. But if by some unlikely outcome the daily hot special and freshly-squeezed orange juice don’t fill you up, the sideboard is always stocked with homemade Olallieberry granola and a bowl of fresh fruit. The Inn is a romantic, restful oasis of charm, grace and pleasant company. (We came home late one evening to find ourselves face-to-face with a deer in the garden, for heaven’s sake!) But to avoid the appearance of having uploaded a "cooked" review, after considerable thought we have to pass along two negative aspects of our stay: first, we are upset to find that the tasty olallieberry (yes, it’s a real berry) cannot be found in Ottawa. So we have to fudge our olallieberry recipes with locally grown berries. Second, we are very disappointed that there simply weren’t enough days on our schedule to allow us to remain there long enough to sample all of the kitchen’s signature dishes. Other than those two faults, we frankly can find nothing bad to say about the Inn, its hosts, and our stay there in May 2007.
5 on May 20, 2007
This Inn was simply amazing! We had read a lot about the Olallieberry Inn online and could wait to see it for ourselves. You know what...everything we had read was true! the property was so beautiful. We would sit out back at night and listen to the frogs and creek. Margerie, Ann, and Larry (the owners) were so kind. They always called us by our first names and made sure that anything we could have wanted/needed was taken care of. The food was amazing. We've stayed at a few B & B's before, but this place had the best food hands down! The whole experience was great and we can't wait to go again!

Wow - what an unbelievable BnB experience! There is nothing we would change...the food is phenomenal (unique homemade breakfasts, as well as yummy cheeses and spreads at happy hour), the room was beautiful, and the hosts were so warm and friendly. They knew our names when we walked in the door and addressed everyone personally during the stay. They were gracious and generous, providing us with a free bottle of champagne for celebrating our wedding anniversary. Olallieberry Inn is top notch - recommended to anyone in town for a visit!
