  • Alpenhorn Bed & Breakfast Video: AAA FOUR-DIAMOND AWARD 10 years in a row. "Absolutely the best place in Big Bear!" Situated on two exquisitely landscaped acres between the Village and the Snow Summit Ski Area, just a few short blocks from the lake. The perfect place for a romantic getaway or garden wedding. The inn has eight suites. All have private baths with tiled showers, 7 have eight-jet spa tubs for one or two, fireplaces, televisions and VCRs, spa robes, phones, feather beds and 6 include private balconies. Breakfast consists of fresh breads, seasonal fruit, homemade granola, house-blend coffee, oatmeal banana brulee, and an entrée such as coddled eggs or orange croissant french toast. Beverages and freshly baked cookies are available throughout the day. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres are served with a red or white wines in the early evening, and later, an after-dinner bar is set-up offering a variety of liqueurs, chocolates, mixed nuts, and our homemade cookies.

Turn right across the dam. In the Village, turn left on Pine Knot, then turn right on Big Bear Blvd. Go to the fourth street, and turn right on Knight Ave. The Alpenhorn is one block up on the left at 601 Knight Ave. You may also take the 10 fwy eas to Orange Ave. Go Left on Orange 1 mile to Lugonia turn right. Go approximately 12 mile to the 38 where you will take a sharp left up the mountain. Take the 38 up the mountain, when you reach the valley turn left on to Big Bear Blvd. Go approximately 7 miles to Knight Ave turn left. 1 Block on left side.

    My husband and I wanted a quiet weekend getaway near to home. Alpenhorn is located in a beautiful area with excellent service. It was nice to chat with their other guests during breakfast and evening snack time.

    Linda and her staff proide a very warm and homey atmosphere at this beautiful location. We love to walk around the beautiful premises and the rooms are beautiful! We will be back. This is our third time!

    Alpenhorn and the hostesses made us feel comfortable and 'at home" as well as being in a fantasy. We felt far, far away from reality -- everything was perfectly beautiful -- the best B&B breakfasts we've ever experienced.
