The main building at the Tallman Hotel, originally built in 1896, has been fully restored and now is listed on the California Register of Historic Places. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens with contemporary touches including a pool with hot tub, newly constructed suites and garden rooms with Japanese ofuro soaking tubs. Solar panels, geo-exchange heating and cooling and modern amenities produce a welcoming, state-of-the-art, eco-friendly environment. Next door is its popular restaurant, Blue Wing Saloon & Cafe, which serves lunch and dinner every day and features Blues music on Monday nights and a variety of music in the garden on Sundays for brunch. We're the only hotel rated with "Four Pears" by the County. Come enjoy the beauty of Lake County and the Tallman Hotel.

My husband and I just completed a six night stay at the Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake, California. Our accomodations were spacious, deluxe, comfortable, and luxurious. I can't say enough about the gracious and welcoming staff. The hotel grounds were beautifully landscaped and eating in the garden patio was a delight. Food is readily available at the Blue Wing Saloon (a companion property right next door) - food is well prepared, plated, and a great value. And just when we thought things couldn't get any better - they did. We happened to be there for a four night blues festival that featured great entertainment from a wonderful solo acoustic mastro to terrific killer bands. I never wanted to leave and without a doubt we will plan on visiting next year.
