Golden Gate Hotel is one of the best B&B's that I have stayed at. The location is AWESOME - very close to a lot of transportation, food and nightlife. Even though they have pets, they are extremely clean and my allergies did not flare up. The staff is very accommodating and even brought breakfast up to my room for me when I was to lazy to sit in the dining area. GREAT GREAT place to stay .

I enjoyed my stay at Golden Gate Hotel very much. The room was well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. And I took a lot of pictures of Pip, the cat and other two dogs :-)

I can only agree with other reviewers about this b&b. location so handy to cable cars, walking dIstance to china, town, union square. Lord if restaurants in area. This hotel has an old world air . Decorated in that theme. Beds comfortable, room small but fine as we spent most time out sightseeing. Continental breakfast was nicest we have encountered. Freshly baked croissants and muffins, fresh juice, tea served in teapot, coffee. Staff welcoming from the moment we arrived and each person we dealt with could not have been more helpful

If you're used to luxury then this isn't the place for you. However, if you like your hotel to be a bit different and not the usual anonymous room, then I'd recommend The Golden Gate. There is an Edwardian theme which runs through the place including a great antique lift/elevator. Breakfast of croissants and muffins is included in the price plus tea and biscuits in the afternoon. All the staff were very helpful and we wouldn't hesitate to come back should we be in the area. It isn't cheap but nowhere in San Francisco is.

This beautiful BnB is close to cable cars, restaurants and Union Square. The staff were above and beyond friendly and helpful with luggage assistance, advice on getting around and where to go and what we should see. Breakfast was served each morning and provided a great opportunity to talk to other guests. Next door is a laundromat which was really convenient. I would highly recommend this place to anyone travelling to San Fran. The only suggestion I can make would be to include a bar fridge in the rooms; just for convenience.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and would definitely go back. Whilst there a large proportion of guests were repeat customers. Staff were so friendly helpful and made everyone so welcome. The hotel had a family feel about it and the resident cat added to the experience. Afternoon gatherings over tea, coffee and biscuits encouraged guests to share experiences with each other which was a refreshing change. wONDERFUL!

Loved our stay here in this quaint, cosy and friendly bed and breakfast. The staff were really helpful, the rooms were very comfortable and Pip the reception cat is extremely dedicated to his duties! The lovely old building has been beautifully maintained and the antique elevator is a novelty. The breakfast and afternoon cookies were a real treat. Highly recommended!

I love Golden Gate Hotel. It is a lovely and wonderful B&B. The bed is really comfortable. It shows consideration for everything. The breakfast is the best whatever I had in B&B. I would like come back each time I visit San Francisco.
