Morey Mansion
David and Sarah Morey built Morey Mansion in 1890 from the profits of her citrus tree nursery. There is no known architect for the house. David himself custom built many of the charming Victorian features.
Morey Mansion has been a private residence for the past eight years but was a Bed and Breakfast Inn for 18 years prior to that. It has gone through a 20- month restoration process in 1999 and 2000. It is now again opened to the public as an up-scale Inn.
The city of Redlands was incorporated in the l880’s and is home to many well-maintained Victorian and turn-of-the-century houses. It is also home to the University of Redlands, Smiley Library built in 1897, the Lincoln Shrine with an extensive collection of Lincoln memorabilia, the Historic Glass Museum with a collection of American glass and a Historic downtown shopping district. Beaches, mountains and the desert are all within a one-hour drive.
The house is set on 1.7 acres on the bluff overlooking San Timoteo Canyon. It has three gracious guest rooms all with private bathrooms, air conditioning, DSL, many common areas to relax in, wicker furniture on the veranda, a gazebo, gardens and swimming pool. It is two miles from Historic downtown Redlands.
