Sanborn House is the ideal retreat for business and holiday travelers. The guest house provides many of the amenities you would find at home and is located in LA's charming residential Silverlake and Los Feliz neighborhoods. It is accessible to many attractions like Hollywood, Universal Studios, the Getty Museum, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, and of course, sunny beaches of Southern California. Sanborn House has two guest units providing Hollywood charm and comfort: a Guest Suite and a Guest Room. Both have its own private bath, TV with cable, free WiFi, ceiling fan, queen size beds, and free gated/0ff-street parking. Both share and have access to the guest kitchen. In addition to the above, the guest suite has a sitting /living room and its own private entrance..

We enjoyed our stay in the Sanborn Guest Room. It was small and quirkily laid out but not too small, and exceedingly comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. Checkin and checkout went perfectly smoothly and our host was the epitome of politeness. Th neighborhood is one I know well and well worth staying in for its easily accessible restaurants, shops, and general vibe. All in all an excellent experience!

This is a really nice guest house - private, very comfortable, clean, and with all the amenities. It is situated on a quiet street and the owners are unobtrusive but helpful. There are excellent places to dine within walking distance. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and recommend it highly. Excellent value.

Our son was going to be starting a semester at Emerson College's Los Angeles campus. We flew out from Boston to help him get settled. Before we left, we researched various hotels close to the campus for our stay. Since we would be renting a car, parking was a concern. We found that most hotels that provided parking seemed to want $40 to $50 a day for that option. We then started to look at guest house alternatives and came upon the Sanborn Guest House. We were glad we found this great deal of an alternative. The rooms (we not only had a bedroom, a sitting room, and a private bath , but we also had use of a fully supplied kitchen!) were very clean and comfortable and felt more like a home than a hotel. Included in the price of the rooms was off street, gated parking. It was also just a 10 minute drive from the Emerson campus. If we have reason to go back to Los Angeles, we would definetly stay here again. Also, it's just down the street from a very funky section (cool stores, coffee shops, eateries, etc.) of town called the Silver Lake region. We would highly recommend the Sanborn Guest House to anyone searching for a relaxing place to stay in Los Angeles.

OK...for me, this place is perfect. Clean comfortable accommodation, secure parking for small car in the yard. Communal kitchen. Shared shower and washroom....but there are only two units so it is never a problem. WIFI that works perfectly. And just steps from Sunset Junction. Very reasonable rates. Owners are pleasant and helpful....but keep their distance. Indicated dining expectations...but this refers to surrounding area as Sanborn House does not offer breakfast etc. This is the only place I stay when in the Los Angeles area....it is so quiet.

The owner was very accommodating -- we had to check in on the late side and that was ok. The place was comfortable, clean and in a great location in Silver Lake.

Sanborn Guest House is in a quiet neighborhood just off of Sunset. Close to Hollywood, Los Feliz attractions and a short hop to the freeway. Comfortable room with shared kitchen between the two guest rooms. Complimentary off-street parking. Hosts are accessible but not intrusive.

My stay was such an unexpected pleasure. Nobody would suspect that such a place, nestled in the hubbub of a thriving city like Los Angeles, could ever exist. But it does! The charm and quaint nature of the house and property are contagious and I plan on returning to this "haven" whenever my travels take me to California. I might add that the people (Gary and Jaime) who run this establishment are very friendly and accommodating, thus enhancing an already great experience. Thanks again guys! Rich from Florida

Everything about our stay was just about perfect. The place was clean, nicely decorated, spacious, and comfortable, and the neighborhood is great -- lots of interesting places within walking distance, including a coffee bar that opens at 6 am (expensive but good). I gave "dining" four stars, although, of course, there is no food -- this is not a B&B. But it does have a well-equipped, shared kitchen. Having private parking was another bonus. The owner was extremely nice -- helpful but unintrusive. We'll definitely want to stay there again.

We stayed for two days while visiting family in the immediate area. This was our first visit. The rooms are very comfortable, there was never an issue with getting hold of Gary or Jaime - although for us that was only as we checked in and checked out. We talked with Gary for about an hour before we left, just chatting about the area and our visit and he is a great host, I have no doubt that Jaime would be equally fun to talk with. Normally, we camp at some of the State Parks when we visit LA, but with a shorter time period to visit, we chose to try Sanborn House. It is a great value, the location is hard to beat - there are great restaurants and coffee shops nearby, but if you want to cook, the kitchen facility is perfect. As I said in the title, we will be staying there again!
