The Rainbow Inn is a five-room upscale B&B located in the picturesque art town of Idyllwild, two hours from LA and San Diego, one hour from Palm Springs, nestled among majestic pine trees and towering granite mountains. The Inn is located on nearly an acre of wooded land adjacent to Strawberry Creek. The Rainbow Inn is an excellent place to relax and unwind, or to have your wedding or other event in our conference facility.

The warm comfortable ambiance as soon as you enter the Inn gives you a sense of relaxation. John is the best of host's. His attention to detail is exquisite. This is one of the multiple times we've stayed at the Rainbow Inn and we have always been beyond satisfied and appreciated of his efforts to accommodate.

Our brief stay was so enjoyable. The room was charming and relaxing. John, the owner and host is gracious and makes a point to plan individuality for any dietary needs or other desires of his guests. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Quiche, fresh yogurt with fruit and home baked goods. The inn is located near town, but feels like it is tucked away in the woods. I highly recommend this place.

Idyllwild is quiet, artistic, naturally beautiful, and calming. The Rainbow Inn compliments the setting and enhances the experience. John is wonderfully welcoming and his pride shows. He maintains an impeccably clean residence and cooks up terrific healthy breakfasts, catering to individual tastes and needs as he does it. If I were to name the Bed and Breakfast that best meets the vision of B&B life, the Rainbow Inn is it. Thanks, John

The food was wonderful. The room was better than I expexted. Newly renovated and really designed.

First of all I did not have high expectations for a B&B in Idyllwild. The room was cute, roomy, and adequate. The house is noisy though, you can here other guests and people in the kitchen/common areas. I am a very light sleeper so this was a problem. However, the owner was very nice and made us feel welcomed. If we did go back to Idyllwild we would try a different B & B that is more secluded. It is on one of the main roads in town so there were cars flying by all day and night. It was a little pricey for the location. The Jacuzzi tub took forever to fill and it took a while to get hot water. If I had to rate this it would be at a 3.5 out of 5

John is a great host and a good cook! Our room was comfortable and very attractively decorated. And there was a really great selection of movies for watching in our room too. We also enjoyed the very nice spaces to hang out in when your not in the room. This was enhanced by the wonderful art work and photos throughout the inn. The inn is close enough to the main drag to walk but far enough away to feel as though you are out in the wilds. We also had a great meal at Idyology and would recommend them highly too. Looking forward to going back next year!

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Inn and it was wonderful. My wife is on a gluten free diet and John cooked 2 great breakfasts. We loved our stay. Barry and Marlys

Only spent one night here but would have loved to spend several days there. Everything was as we expected, we stayed in a room that unfortunately had the bathroom located across the hall but it was our own private bathroom so okay. The only negative comment we had is that we wish we had more traditional breakfast selections as the Mexican lasagna was tasty but wouldn't have been our first choice for our meal. Our host, other guests and ambience was perfect otherwise and we will return again someday.
