We came to Idyllwild for an Easter getaway and were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful B&B we found at the Rainbow inn. John was a great host and the location was perfect for us. We defiantly are coming back. Probably sooner because of the new find of this B&B.

John is a fantastic host, made us feel like long lost friends. We are already planning a return trip for longer stay.

My wife and I stayed here to get out of LA for a few days. Each room is very different--we stayed in the Bear Den. We have stayed at a lot of B&B's over the years, but this one stood out for a few reasons. First, it is well decorated. Idyllwild is a fairly artsy community, and much of this art is (tastefully) on display in the cabin. Our room has several amazing photographs taken by the owner himself. Second, everything is immaculately clean. Our bed was spotless, soft, and comfortable. The bathroom was similarly spotless. Third, the amenities provided are really exceptional. For example, we were considering going to to see a movie until we realized that the owner had an entire library of DVDs in the hallway for us to borrow. We just popped the DVD in the TV/DVD combination included in our room (and every room, I think) and watched it. As another example, the owner created a binder for each room showing all of the restaurants in the area and their menus, hiking trails, etc. It is a huge help in decided how to spend your day in Idyllwild. Fourth, the service is great. In addition to being very polite, the owner goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. He provided my wife and I a ride in his vehicle up the mountain so we could take a beautiful hiking trail back down. He offered it to us of his own volition. We had a delightful conversation with him on the way up and it saved us a lot of trouble in picking out an appropriate hike and getting there. Fifth, the location is great. You are located close to the commercial center of Idyllwild where all of the shops and restaurants are found. We truly had a great time at this B&B and will definitely be coming back next time we need a weekend escape.
