The Cub Inn B&B is the newest B&B in Groveland CA. Built entirely of 8" dia. Swedish Cope Pine Logs on 3 quiet, alpine forested acres, near town but far from civilization, our home and B&B was completed and opened April 2009. Using true Post and Beam Log Home design, the three 14" dia. X 48' long Purlins supporting the roof soar over 27 feet above the Great Room floor. Authentic nine foot raftered beam ceilings are found on both the first and second floors. Facing North, the Glass Windowed Prow looks thru a dense alpine forest toward the mountains beyond. Not far from town, but away from the noise of Highway 120, this setting offers a quiet, tranquil wooded retreat where you can truly relax and enjoy nature at its finest.

    Eat at Joe's!

    June 10, 2013

Joe's breakfasts were the icing on the cake for a very enjoyable 4-day stay at their charming and comfortable home. Their hospitality and the wooded seclusion made for a great visit to the Yosemite area. Joe's local knowledge kept us from missing some great sites that we might not have seen otherwise.

Feels like staying with your uncle in his vacation house

    May 30, 2013

For Joe the innkeeper, the Cub inn is a labor of love; a post retirement gig. This makes chatting with him a lot of fun. He constantly gives you tips on how to plan your vacation in Yosemite. He is exceptionally accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was awesome. We plan to stay with Joe when we go back again to Yosemite

    On our way to Yosemite

    May 28, 2013

We looked at B&B's close to Yosemite so we could enjoy the park without a lot of driving on the days of our adventure. We could not have picked a finer place to stay! It is tucked back in the quiet woods off of Hywy 120 about 25 miles from Yosemite. Five bedrooms, very clean, giant day room / kitchen / eating area. Library, wrap around balcony for kicking back. Joe, our host, knows what he is doing. He puts out a hearty breakfast, checks that you have good shoes for the park, suntan lotion, insect spray, instructions for anyway you want to tackle the valley, and a variety of hats to keep from getting sunburned. Joe is a Vet. and gives veterans a discount and a "welcome home". We've been enjoying B&B's for over 30 years and this is one of the best! Wes & Nancy Tang

    Joe, Charleen and pets.

    May 02, 2013

You would be hard pressed to meet a nicer couple. It is true what other reviews have said about this place and Joe Charleen. You start as friends, and you leave as family. The breakfast meals are a treat. The accommodation is clean and comfortable. And if you like pets, there are cats and 1 dog.
