We were based at The Groveland Hotel whilst exploring Yosemite. The room (#1) was on the small side but there was enough room for our 2 suitcases. People were complaining about the traffic noise at the front but we weren't disturbed by this at all even though our room was at the front and I'm a very light sleeper. The room could do with a freshen up - new carpet or wooden flooring (especially as pets are now allowed to stay) and fresh coat of paint. The breakfast and evening meals were delicious and very filling. Susan (evening) and Rhonda (breakfast) were very busy but attentive and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We also had a chat with Peggy (owner) on our first night. She was very interesting and a joy to chat with.

Hello, My husband and I just spent a weekend here and this is the first time I have been to the Yosemite area. We needed a weekend away from parenting and this was the perfect remedy! the rooms were sparkling clean, the food was AMAZING! the only reason I gave 4 stars to service was because the woman who worked the desk at night was awful. she acted like we were a bother was extremely rude. The woman who checked us in and was at the front during the day was AWESOME! She was warm, welcoming, and knows her hospitality industry. I do think that it's a bit expensive for the area (they can charge that much cuz they know there's not much else around, which isn't all that nice to do. You pay the same price for the westin in san francisco. oh well, at least it's a nice place)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Groveland Hotel. The room was comfortable and the amenities adequate. It was clean and secure. The services at the hotel were excellent and the restaurant was great with a great menu. The room was nice, clean and comfortable, but there were a number of small things about the hotel and room that needed maintenance. The ceiling fan did not work; the alarm clock could not be set; the curtains were sun bleached and stained; the hotel needed repainting, and the a number of the porch chairs needed cleaning and repairs. A little TLC would go a long way to making this hotel very nice again.

This Hotel was a pleasure to stay at for several reasons; good location if going to Yosemite/ the local small town was laid back and charming with a historic saloon next door/ the building is very old but updated bathroom was very good/ we had privacy but also easy access to our car when needed/ the restaurant was outstanding for dinner and breakfast with well cooked meals served by very professional and pleasant people. This is the first time I have ever reviewed a hotel but since this was such an outstanding experience I had to let others know that this is a great place to stay !

SFO is the favorite airport but many travelers have discovered the ease of using Oakland Airport. Two and a half hours to The Groveland Hotel. Head east on Interstate 580 through Livermore. Near Tracy, merge on to I-205 East. Stay on I-205 until I-5 North, following the signs for Yosemite. Take I-5 North for a very short distance. Take the first exit, Hwy 120 East toward Yosemite. Remain on Hwy 120 East through Manteca, Escalon and Oakdale. Following the signs to Yosemite’s Northern Entrance, turn RIGHT at ‘Yosemite Junction’ and pass through Chinese Camp, up the unforgettable ‘Priest Grade’ and through Big Oak Flat. Groveland is just after Big Oak Flat, and the Groveland Hotel can be found on the right-hand side of the road, just past the Iron Door Saloon.
