It is located in downtown Escondido, a quaint and diverse community just a short distances from the California Center for the Arts, the San Diego Zoo Safari and many quality golf courses. We found this B&B on an Internet search, and it is the best find ever! We have stayed at B&B's before, but this has been our all time favorite. It was meticulously clean, the rooms are appointed with beautiful antiques, and every detail of the decorating is beautiful. Bill and Nancy were wonderful hosts-sharing their story of this home's restoration process, travel and sightseeing information of the area, and providing the most wonderful breakfasts every morning. Every morning breakfast was served on a different set of antique Depression Glass dishes. Such wonderful detail they put into our visit. The photos do not due justice to this home. We fell in love with their beautifully landscaped backyard, where we enjoyed a cup of coffee prior to breakfast in the morning. The bathroom was wonderful with an oversized shower and as mentioned before, very clean. Thanks, Bill and Nancy, for sharing your beautiful home! We definitely would stay here again when traveling to Southern California. Terri and Bob

We stumbled across the Century Rose while searching for a place to stay on the internet and decided to take a chance. We had a great experience! Bill and Nancy have a beautiful home (which they restored themselves) and they are gracious hosts. The breakfasts were terrific, and we appreciated the effort that Bill and Nancy made to provide us with their inside view of the best attractions and restaurants. They made us feel at home. We were so at ease with them that the issue that could have divided us (they're Charger fans; we're Bronco fans) was no issue at all!

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay in Escondido and happened upon the Century Rose. Oh, how happy we are that we did! The entire experience was wonderful. Bill and Nancy are kind and gracious hosts. The rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated. Because we asked, Bill and Nancy shared with us the amazing story of the Century Rose's transformation from condemned house into the beautiful home it is today. We also greatly appreciated the privacy the Century Rose offers. Bill and Nancy occupy the back half of the home, which is separated from the guest quarters. In addition, we asked for the "private bath option" which gave us the entire upstairs to ourselves, including the luxurious bath (complete with large, glass block shower and antique clawfoot tub). And, for tea drinkers, Bill (and his fancy tea maker) make an awesome cup of tea! Thank you! Rob and Lee

What the pictures do not show is the outstanding craftsmanship and attention to historical detail that the owners have lavished on their home and B&B. It was also very quiet. The french toast Bill served one morning was the best I ever had. This B&B is a gem. I only wish it was close to Santa Cruz. Dell & Daryl.

My husband and I have stayed at Century Rose B&B several times over the last few years and it has always been the perfect get-away for us. The house is gorgeous, the rooms are beautifully decorated, and Bill & Nancy are so welcoming. We LOVE the delicious french toast they serve and thoroughly enjoy our breakfast conversations with Bill & Nancy. We will definitely continue coming to this B&B whenever we need a night away from the kids! Thank you Bill & Nancy for blessing us with such wonderful stays whenever we have a chance to come visit.

It's not too often you find a B&B where the owners take great pride, love, and sincere attention to every single detail to ensure your stay is memorable. Bill & Nancy embrace the charm of their home and welcome their guests better than a 5 star resort. Their home is a turn of the century home that is completely authentic to every detail. It's like going back to simpler days - depression glass, antiques, pictures, fixtures, furniture - yet - for those that need 21st century comforts and the internet, it's all here. The breakfast is outstanding, filling, and made with the highest quality ingredients served next to a warm real wood burning fireplace to set the ambiance. Every room is clean and fresh and with great 'history' stories behind every picture. Be sure to check out the before/after pictures of this amazing home. Nearby in the community are great restaurants, shops, entertainment, and easy access to freeways. Once you have settled in it will feel like home. Be sure to greet Jackson and Marley... 2 of the cutest pups you'll ever see. No need to look anywhere else for a B&B. Century Rose in Escondido is place you'll return to over and over again. We have! Bill and Nancy are the nicest people you will ever meet.. their home is yours.

My wife and I stayed for 3 days at the end of December. We chose the Century Rose because it was a great location for exploring the local area and only 30 minutes from the ocean and represented great value. A highlight of our stay was visiting the Safari Park which is only 10 minutes away. Bill and Nancy are engaging and gracious hosts and the Century Rose is a masterpiece, "labor of love", inside and out. Filled with beautiful antiques and surrounded by stunning landscaping this is a unique and compelling property. Just look at the website photos, then go hear the restoration story firsthand from the Bensons. The sumptuous and satisfying breakfast prepared by our hosts topped our long list of accolades for this haven in Escondido. We will be back!

This place was an absolute gem. Stayed for a weekend pre-finals week because I wanted a quiet, relaxing place to regroup and focus my studies. Bill and Nancy were so warm and hospitable, and the house was so quaint and cozy it reminded me of home in New England. The rooms were clean and beautifully adorned (one of them has a fireplace that was heaven to sit by and read), the shower was excellent, and I even had a bubble bath in what was probably a century-old tub. I will definitely be returning to Century Rose for a stay again! It was the perfect weekend escape from the hustle of San Diego!

This review is about two months too late, but I wanted to share our experience. My husband and I had booked a different BnB in Escondido. However, less than a week before our stay, after confirming my reservation, they called and said they had overbooked. Luckily, they arranged for us to stay with Bill and Nancy, and we could not have been happier. Not only did they take us in on short notice, but they provided a delicious full breakfast on depression-era glassware, and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. They were able to allow us an early check-in and treated us as desired guests. Their home is beautiful, the pillows are especially comfortable, and I now have a burning desire to own a claw-footed tub someday. We were so very lucky to have been "bumped." Thank you Bill and Nancy.

We had a great weekend at the Century Rose Bed and Breakfast in Escondido, CA. Bill and Nancy have a beautiful and cozy home, and we felt immediately welcomed. The room was cozy with a comfortable queen bed and ample dresser space. The bathroom was spacious and had a great shower and tub. Breakfast was delicious! They served us french toast, sausages, chorizo omelette, hot coffee, juice and jogurt! They gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit in the area. We enjoyed our visit very much and wished we could have stayed longer. We recommend staying at this wonderful bed and breakfast!
