This place was an absolute gem. Stayed for a weekend pre-finals week because I wanted a quiet, relaxing place to regroup and focus my studies. Bill and Nancy were so warm and hospitable, and the house was so quaint and cozy it reminded me of home in New England. The rooms were clean and beautifully adorned (one of them has a fireplace that was heaven to sit by and read), the shower was excellent, and I even had a bubble bath in what was probably a century-old tub. I will definitely be returning to Century Rose for a stay again! It was the perfect weekend escape from the hustle of San Diego!

This review is about two months too late, but I wanted to share our experience. My husband and I had booked a different BnB in Escondido. However, less than a week before our stay, after confirming my reservation, they called and said they had overbooked. Luckily, they arranged for us to stay with Bill and Nancy, and we could not have been happier. Not only did they take us in on short notice, but they provided a delicious full breakfast on depression-era glassware, and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. They were able to allow us an early check-in and treated us as desired guests. Their home is beautiful, the pillows are especially comfortable, and I now have a burning desire to own a claw-footed tub someday. We were so very lucky to have been "bumped." Thank you Bill and Nancy.

We had a great weekend at the Century Rose Bed and Breakfast in Escondido, CA. Bill and Nancy have a beautiful and cozy home, and we felt immediately welcomed. The room was cozy with a comfortable queen bed and ample dresser space. The bathroom was spacious and had a great shower and tub. Breakfast was delicious! They served us french toast, sausages, chorizo omelette, hot coffee, juice and jogurt! They gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit in the area. We enjoyed our visit very much and wished we could have stayed longer. We recommend staying at this wonderful bed and breakfast!

This is our second time staying here. Though the house is beautiful, and the food delicious, the real highlight of our stays are the hosts, Bill and Nancy. They are so warm and welcoming, we didn't want to leave!

My wife and I stayed here August 16th and 17th while celebrating Stone Brewing's 17th anniversary invitational festival. The location is perfect, just two short blocks from downtown Escondido in the historical district. The rooms were spacious with extremely comfortable beds and high quality linen. We didn't have much time to lounge but there are two different sitting rooms as well as a zen like garden with a waterfall and coy pond in the back yard of the incredibly we-modeled property. The hospitality of the hosts is warm and inviting while also giving you plenty of personal space and the food was delicious. Best of all you get it for less than a night at the Motel 6 down the street!

What an incredible home and Bed & Breakfast! The decor is so delightful and charming with antiques everywhere. Each room is decorated with such thought and style. Bill & Nancy make you feel so warm & cozy; they are the perfect hosts! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and if I am in that little part of the world again, I will definately stay there.

I booked the Century Rose as a last minute get away for my husband and myself. It proved to be a delight as the room we stayed in, the Double Delight, name depicted. The house's charm, as well as the inn keepers' charm made our stay quite pleasant and memorable. Bill and Nancy greeted us as we arrived and were at the door to wave us good bye - excellent hosts who knew when to give us advice on a restaurant and when to give us space to enjoy the beautiful garden in the back alone. Everything was clean and in great condition for a hundred plus year old house - very well maintained. The two breakfasts we enjoyed were very tasty and the table was set exquisitely. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be returning.
