Edgemere features three charming, private cottages and one traditional B&B style room in the main house. A delicious, homemade "chef's choice" breakfast is served in the dining room every morning. Beautiful gardens and trees surround you as you listen to the waves crash just one block away at Carmel Beach. Located just steps from the white sands of Carmel Beach, Edgemere Cottages is the perfect setting for a romantic escape to the Monterey Peninsula. Blending European-style architecture with the beauty of the natural surroundings. Rosemont, Piccadilly, Devon cottages and the Patio Room each feature a wide variety of modern conveniences, yet each retains the charm and character of an earlier era. Built in the early 1920s, Edgemere is located in a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes from Carmel's popular downtown shopping district, where wonderful dining possibilities abound. World-class golf is hardly a chip shot away at the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Course.

We loved our stay at Edgemere. Is is located off the main drag of Carmel so it was quiet and private, yet only a few blocks away from all the shops and restaurants. It is also one block from the ocean and we could hear the waves from our cottage. A perfect location. Gretchen and Doug were a delight and totally attentive to our needs. Doug is a great cook and we had one of the best quiches ever for breakfast. This was our first stay there and we stay there again when we go to Carmel.

Our rooms were clean, well appointed and comfortable. The setting and location deserve even higher marks but the grading system only allowed for 'exceeded my expectations'. The breakfasts were delicious and relaxed. When rated along with the friendly, and capable innkeepers, this gem is a keeper. We'll definitely be back.

We just stayed with Gretchen,Doug and Makayla and loved it. Close to all yet secluded. We don't have much money but we will go back to stay. Warm friendly service. Lovely breakfast served in our cottage. Quiet, comfortable and clean. Victor and Barbara.....

Having worked in the hospitality business for several years. I found this amazing B&B to exceed my expectations in all areas of customer satisfaction.

The cottage we stayed in had a small living room/kitchenette are but a nice sized bedroom. It is set up very nice for 3 people with a king bed, a single bed, and a roll out couch in the living room. The woodburning fireplace was ready with kindling, etc., though we didn't have opportunity to try it out as the weather was too warm. The breakfast set up was a little quirky because you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the dining room, but otherwise the food was good and the hostess was attentive and friendly. The location was great, with only a one block walk to the beach. We would stay there again. The only real negative was in regards to the housecleaning. All looked fine, but the shower curtain was mildewed. I mentioned it to the owner, who thanked me and said it would be addressed. A good response, but I shouldn't have had to tell her.
Located in the main house, this is a traditional bed & breakfast style room with a queen bed, mini fridge, private patio, & private bathroom in the hall. Although this room is not pet friendly, our kitties, Magenta and Riffraff, live in the main house.

Gretchen and her two brothers, Alan and Scott grew up here at Edgemere after their parents Betty and Dick Siegrist bought the Inn in the 1960's. Over the past 10 years, the three siblings have turned it into the popular Bed and Breakfast it is today. And, of course, it wouldn't be a bed and BREAKFAST without Doug's incredible quiches and other amazing breakfast dishes!

We layer three types of bread, let it soak in the egg mixture overnight, and lightly brush it with brown sugar and maple syrup before it goes in the oven. It is always a hit with children big and small.
