Front desk service was very hospitable, and our room was very cozy. I will definitely stay here again!

It's not the best, but does quite nicely for charm appeal, proximty to area attractions and last minute weekend getaways. Love the no minimum stays!

Lovely town and lovely accomodation to cap the visit off. a very nice lay out with all rooms getting there own exclusive balcony. Very comfortable room with the essentials on tap.

I love this place! The landscaping is BEAUTIFUL, the staff are so polite. They really make you feel like your at home! I have already booked my return for next year.

The grounds of the Inn are very lovely. My reservation read courtyard king but the room was on the street, which is fairly busy but quieted at night for sleeping. The room was clean with an updated bathroom and a cute kitchenette but the main room needs to be redone: faded comforter, stained chairs, mismatched furniture an older mattress but with a great flat screen TV. We also had to leave the bathroom pocket door slightly open because once closed, we couldn't get it open again very easily to get out. My fellow traveller stayed in the room while I attended a meeting and since my meeting ran past 1pm, the maid had gone home and we never saw her. Never visited the continental breakfast. Depending on your priorities, it is possible to have a nice stay in a beautiful city for a very reasonable price with very nice office staff.

The room was very small. There was a shelf above the sink missing in the bathroom. The traffic on the road outside was very noisy. The breakfast was good. Overall we would not stay here again.

The people who operate the Inn are very friendly and helpful. No complaints it was a nice weekend and the Inn had easy access to the city of Carmel, the Carmel Valley and the Point Lobos State Park. Very affordable and I would definitely stay here again!!

The price was good for the area, and overall we enjoyed our stay. Our room was very small, but we didn't spend much time at the inn. Unfortunately, their website promises that they will have AVEDA spa products, bath robes, and bottled water in your room. When I asked the owner she said they don't do that and never have. My decision was between 2 places and I went with this one because those amenities were so appealing. I was very disappointed that they mis-represented what they offer. Had I known this I would have chosen the other place.

Room was really small, but for the price we had expected that. Our stay was ok but we were looking for a B&B not another hotel.

Our CrystalBay Inn stay was satisfactory for the money. The suites are decent size with a small kitchenette. The overall cleanliness was okay but could have been more thorough. I found a few "personal items" (too embarrassing to mention) left from the previous guests. Our room was off a busy street during the day with a lot of traffic noise but once evening fell it was quiet. The rooms in the back of the property are less noisy. Overall our stay was average.

Booked a king mini suite for a one night stay, the room was nice but our room was facing the street which made it quite noisy not to mention far from everything. Would I stay here again, no.

We wanted quiet and privacy and we got it: we never saw anyone after we checked in, which was perfect. I would probably recommend using this more as a hotel rather than as a place to hang out at all afternoon - no view, not much in the way of public areas, rooms a bit small - but if you just need a base to sleep at, this is a great option, clean and friendly and affordable.

Carmel cannot be improved upon save by staying at the Carmel Crystal Bay. The staff are helpful and the service is quite and prompt. It is a good place to stay.

The room was beautiful and clean, and I would rate the room great! However, you shouldn't call yourself a bed and breakfast if breakfast consists of cold cereal and fruit. We had a better breakfast at our "cheap hotel" the morning before, with eggs, bacon, waffles, muffins, etc. I would not spend the $200 a night again for this Inn. I feel like we got riped off.

This was a good clean place to stay for the price in Carmel. But, don't expect any extras. The "Breakfast" was a typical continental breakfast found in a chain motel. Some traffic noise from the busy street and need to drive to downtown and beach.

Very nice and quiet. Breakfest was very good, lot of choice and variety, nice presentation in the dining room near the office. Lot of flowers all around the Inn. Well situated.

This was a great place to stay. It was our first visit to the B&B. The room was very nice, employees were warm and friendly, the area was quiet and not to far from many locations in the area. The manager made great suggestions on places to visit and great resturant ideas. Our only disappointment was the breakfast. It was a very average continental breakfast you could get at any hotel. We were expecting a little more home cooking and specialities -- fresh muffins, omelet homemade jellies etc.

For the price and the area, I expected more. The lady at the front desk was rude, and the breakfast was sorely disappointing.

The room was a cut above other B&Bs we have used and the staff was very helpful regarding local information, including restaurant recommendations. Everything was squeaky clean. The breakfast was average for a B&B (but well above what you find in the chain hotels) - great coffee, tea, high-quality bagels with jam and butter, cereal, hard boiled eggs, juice. It's a bit of a distance from downtown shopping (too far to walk for most), but the area is quiet. We'll go back the next time we visit Carmel By The Sea.

Our recent stay at the Carmel Crystal Bay Inn was just what the doctor ordered! Located conveniently near Hwy 1 in a beautiful, peaceful, wooded neighborhood, it was just blocks from shopping in lovely Carmel-by-the-Sea. The room exceeded our expectations in charm and coziness. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Don't let the low price fool you... this place is first class! We would definitely return to stay here.

Recently spent one night at CrystalBay B&B. The room was nice (#4), not terribly large but we were only there to sleep. It had all the amenities we needed. Love the double sheeting on the bed and the white linens. Being at the end of the balcony it was very private. During the day the traffic is noisy but at night it was extremely quiet. Staff is friendly and helpful. Not really convenient to walk to town. It's not that far but it's a busy road that lacks sidewalks in places - the drive is very short and we had no trouble parking in town. Parking at the inn is plentiful as well. Rate was excellent and we would stay there again.

My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary here.... just a few minutes from where we live! The Inn was easy to find, quiet, and we enjoyed the privacy it offered. The king-size room included a fireplace, which was a nice touch! The gardens are spectacular and everyone there was pleasant. I highly recommend this to out-of-town visitors as well as locals for a great, inexpensive place to stay!

Enjoyable. First time in Carmel, so didn't know what to expect. Avoid the room I was in on second floor, very close to a busy street. Other rooms looked quieter. Food and other guests at the breakfast table made up for any negatives. Wished it had been walking distance to Carmel's little business district but again, first time in Carmel, and ... I presume the price would have have been significantly higher.

I was thrilled with my stay at Carmel CrystalBay Inn. The room was lovely and very quaint. I especially loved the fire place and the CA King bed. The man who checked us in was extraordinarily friendly and knowledgeable - he took the time to explain a variety of things to my boyfriend and I. The grounds themselves are picturesque and felt like an outdoor courtyard or garden. The breakfast in the morning had a wide spread and was quite good. I would definitely recommend Carmel CrystalBay Inn to anyone visiting the Carmel area!

nice room although a bit small, we needed an extra bed which we found it a bit hard to locate. very nice service. great breakfast in a french style room. great location.

We stayed at the Carmel CrystalBay Inn for one night while on a quick visit to the Monterey Aquarium. The Inn itself was distinctive and close to downtown Carmel. You could probably walk the distance but it was a quick and easy 5 minute drive. It had beautiful gardens and was a great deal especially for the area, which is quite pricey. Our room was on the first floor close to the street; during peak traffic hours it was a bit noisy but once it came time to sleep the traffic had died down and was unnoticeable. The staff was very friendly and more than willing to offer tips on the area. If you're looking for something reasonably priced and with character I would definitely recommend staying here for a night or two while in Carmel:)

This is a mixed bag: the grounds are very nice, theroom was ok (based on the pictures, I had higher expectations) but the bead was great. Breakfast was nothing to write about. However the place was clean, the atmosphere pleasant - so for having made reservations at the last moment, I can't complaint.

This B&B was delightful. The room we stayed in was spacious and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was very good and the layout was very classy. We didn't want to leave. The grounds are also very beautiful. Great location. Highly recommended.

While very charming, this is essentially an inn or really nice hotel, and not a bed and breakfast. Not all rooms have fireplaces as advertised, and the breakfast is just a continental breakfast - bagels, boiled eggs (if you get there early), and cereal. A really nice place to stay if you need a room, but if you're used to bed and breakfasts', this isn't it.

Wonderful place to stay in Carmel. Its value way exceeded what we paid through Expedia.com. Not to mention its convenient location, and gracious hosts.

Nice quiet location. More of a boutique hotel than a bed and breakfast. Room was small but nice. Ample parking. Beautiful courtyard with nice water feature. Breakfast was standard continental fair. Bagels, english muffins, fuit, juice, cereal. Overall, pleasant place to stay. No air conditioner.

We could only stay one night, but I would have happily resided there for a week. The inn had a beautiful garden in full bloom right outside our dutch door. The room itself was well appointed and well worth the price. The only downside for me was a too firm bed, but I realize this is a personal preference issue.

Carmel Crystal Bay Inn is located in a great spot, within a few minutes of downtown Carmel. Checkin time is 2pm, but even though we tried to checkin at 3pm, our room was not ready yet. The front desk said it would take another half hour and wasn't forthcoming in trying to accommodate us. Since we were only staying there for one night, we really did need to get settled and get on with our plans. After some negotiating, they finally did credit me $20. Overall, the place is clean and the furnishings are in good shape. Nothing really great or that bad...so if you're looking for a decent middle of the road sort of place to stay, this would be a good choice.

We stayed here for 2 nights and we are loving it. It was the weekend of my wife's birthday and we strolled by the beach all day(5 min away)and coming home to a clean and quiet place. T'was perfect for our need. Our daughter's fave spot was the mini garden. Well managed and friendly keepers. We'll stay here again and will recommend to our friends and family.

We stayed here and were nicley surprised.The Wine and Cheese evening was very good, 5 choices of cheese,and nice wine.Room was small but comfortable.bathrooms are very nice,once again small but quality fittings. We had 2 dogs and the staff were very helpfull,with directions for walking etc.. Nice stay.will come back

This was a nice B&B - the room was cosy and clean. The service was average, what was probably disappointing was the breakfast. Overall ok!
