Room was charming, thoughtfully decorate and and clean with the exception for the mildew growing in the shower. Staff was kind and helpful. Mexican food was below average, but again staff there was congenial. We will stay there again, but I will check the shower before committing to the room next time.

My girlfriend and I stayed here only as a stop along our route to Carmel, however, after our amazing stay we both thought it would be a great trip all on its own. We loved the coziness of the room, the fireplace in the morning, and the window with the view of the bay was priceless! The breakfast next door at the Mexican restaurant was fantastic as well. I'm not sure I have ever had chile verde that good, and I live in San Diego where the Mexican food is second to none. The Baywood Inn is definitely on our short list of places that we would travel to again!

This is a very nice little inn in Los Osos. My room was very comfortable and had excellent views of Morro Bay. The staff are very friendly but unobtrusive. Very reasonable rates for the quality offered. Dining options a step away. I will return.

I have gone through a divorce and nasty custody battle in the last year. Getting back out there and dating was scary and nerve wrecking. I met an awesome man and we had been dating for a few months. We needed to test the waters with a weekend getaway. The bay wood inn was adorable and the perfect place for our romantic getaway. The people who worked there were professional and curtious. We are next door for breakfast and had and amazing chili verde omelette. Overall our stay was perfect. Rooms were cute, clean, and had a lot of charm. We will be returning.

My husband and I have stayed here 4 or 5 times in the last 10 years (usually for our anniversary). We were a bit disappointed this time. The first few times you could order breakfast to be delivered to your room (very nice!) but not any longer. The last time we stayed you went downstairs to the restaurant next door and were served a substantial breakfast. This time the innkeeper gave us vouchers for a small breakfast across the street. (I understand on the weekends breakfast is available next door). The room was clean (although in need of glass in one of the fireplace doors, hence no fire). I would still recommend a stay here, great view of the bay. A little sad that it isn't as nice as it used to be.

My husband and I stay at the Baywood every year when we visit family. We always look forward to seeing a different room, enjoying the view of the bay, and the extras included, such as soda and snacks in the room, a wine hour. The Baywood is in a nice quiet area. A great escape.

About our 4th or 5th stay there over the years. Really needs some maintenance and TLC. We stayed in "Quimper" room starting Christmas Eve. We brought a nice champagne to chill, found the in-room refrigerator did not work (instead had a bucket of ice inside it). The shower valve very difficult to pull up without entire bathtub spout trying to pull away from the wall. On our last night, outside temp in high 30's, wall furnace would not come on at any setting (we used gas fireplace for heat). Also, the bathroom fan and heater are on the same switch (though one of 3 wall switches did nothing) resulting in blasting heat when exhaust fan turned on. Room cleaners did bare minimum, left a full trash bag and some obviously empty boxes on floor next to the dining table. You can hear pretty much everything in adjacent rooms, but we knew that already. We do like quiet Baywood Park, though. or a very good seafood meal, try The Sea Chest on Moonstone Drive in Cambria (get there early- no reservations and cash or check only, with an ATM inside. I got there at about 5:10 PM and was already about 30th in line. Many people "tailgated" in line with their own wine and quite a few sat by a nice outdoor fire ring while someone held a spot in line.

We stayed in Country Cottage I believe room #103.? It was relatively clean except the couch was pretty old and there was loose dirt under the cushions. The heater was not working in the room which we told the staff about. They said they would have housekeeping look at it which they said they did and it still did not work. Not bad for when we were there but when it gets cold people will freeze! Also the bedroom window leaks air badly which we let the inn keeper know about. Location was good and breakfast and wine/chips social hour was nice.
