Very pleasant room. Wonderful location. Good choices for breakfast. Light outside the window is too bright for the night. Would prefer a bar of soap instead of all liquids. But everything else was quite perfect.

I love this place. I've returned several times. The Inn provides pop corn, sodas, and water for its guest. My room was clean and staff were very friendly.

I was uncomfortable going next door for the evening wine. The wait staff their could not help us and the Baywood Staff was busy with check ins. We also had to wait for the Hostess to come to check us in. It was also a little odd to go elsewhere for breakfast, but the restaurant we chose was wonderful. This was a very peaceful setting.

There were 11 of us in 6 rooms all of which were individually decorated. All of us loved our rooms. Mine had a living room with a separate bedroom and bath. It looked out on the bay. The value was terrific. Breakfast and happy hour included every day. Can't beat that. We would definitely come back to the Baywood Inn.

We stayed in the blue room next to reception. It was a lovely room, but needed a few little repairs - torn wallpaper, loose towel rails etc. Next time I would choose a quieter room - on the top floor, and away from the laundry. The staff were great and we really enjoyed the gatherings with other guests at evening drinks, and breakfasts at the cafe across the road.

Have been going here for several years. Unit is showing signs of wear. Small things need to be looked at like the grade of TP. Lovely location. currently there was construction going on in street every morning. Will return.

The room was tastefully decorated and homy. The breakfasts across the street were delicious with a splendid view of the bay. The staff is friendly. I am planning to return.

The Inn has very nice accomodations and the staff couldn't be more accomodating. However, as a B&B it fails miserably. Had breakfast at I what I believe was the Good Tides (outdoor restaurant in same location as the Egg Sculpture restaurant). Had poor menu choices, lousy food and basically it was a poor fast food restaurant. Didn't even provide spoons to stir the coffee! Personally, I would stay at the Baywood again, but I would eat elsewhere.
5 on October 15, 2013
Location, style, cleanliness and courteous service cannot be beat. Baywood Inn is the gem of Central Coast. We will return and tell our friends about this place.

I would have stayed at the Baywood Inn at least three or four times in the last few years if I had known about it. My girlfriend and I love Morro Bay so we decided to hit up the harbor festival. We walked around there a bit, then went and checked in. The short version of the story is that we blew off everything else and never went further than a block from the Inn the rest of the weekend. We are already talking about our next visit, and out plan is to do exactly the same thing!

Stayed on a Thursday night on a planned trip up the coast. Free wine from 5 to 6, got a nice buzz and enjoyed the sunset on the back bay at a bench across the street. Cape Cod room fantastic, two-sided fireplace to keep the room warm. Ladies in the front office took care of all our needs. Knowing our plans to visit Yosemite the next week were likely doomed due to govt shutdown, I asked if there were any openings for the following Monday. Maria was able to hold the same room for us. Baywood is a cool little enclave with a few shops and restaurants, off the beaten path. Would definately stay there again on future trips.

We had seen this property when we had stayed in that area, but never realised it was a B & B, The price is what attracted us, and it is certainly good value. You get the choice of 3 different places for breakfast, the Good Tides was fabulous, the view from our bedroom was excellent apart from the construction vehicles out front. The staff were friendly and you get plenty of snacks. There's plenty of parking out front, and lots to do in the area. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed for one night at Baywood Inn. We had the Santa Fe room. The rate was very good for a nice place within easy shooting distance of SLO. Room was large, with a separate living room and bedroom. FIreplace in living room, king bed in bedroom. Room was nicely decorated in southwest theme. The manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. Included breakfast was a real breakfast at one of three adjacent restaurants/cafes, not prepackaged muffins in a breakfast room. Overall, couldn't have asked for a better stay; especially at the price. We'll be going back.

The Baywood Inn B&B was by far the best place we stayed at throughout our road trip. As my girl friend would say...this was the bestest ever! We were so surprised when we were shown to our room...all we could do, was jump for joy! We had arrived late, and missed the wine and salsa and chips. Without even asking, they graciously brought it to our room, no less...two big wine glasses of a nice, red Californian wine, with a bowl of homemade salsa (and spicy too!) and tortilla chips. We couldn't have been more tickled pink! We had a choice of where to have breakfast...we chose Good Tides Coffee House...yummy! and included in the price. The view from our room, the Emerald Bay room, was fantastic and calming. We had a fireplace, which we used...so cozy! I would go back there in a heartbeat, and plan on going again in the near future. I highly recommend this B&B.

Did a quick birthday celebration at the California coast. Great to have a suite available on quick notice that could accommodate our family. Only worries: 2 big black spiders with their webs in the corners of the high windows and ceiling area of the main room. It was noisy with the neighbors next door coming home at 2am and banging on the door---it sounded like it was our door. The rooms didn't seem as clean as the last time I stayed. There was a musty odor in the north bedroom. Would have loved to have had a ceiling fan in the bedrooms. Everything else was great!

Great location. Enjoyed the bay sunsets very much. Unhurried atmosphere. Great breakfast restaurant selections! Would definitely stay there again but would select a room upstairs to reduce stomping and water pipe noise. Walls are a bit thin for comfortable sleeping.
3.2 on September 04, 2013
This unique B&B sits right across the street from the back bay of Morro Bay. It's a very good deal as the cost of the room includes a nice glass of wine with chips and salsa at 5 pm, and vouchers for a great breakfast at a choice of 3 restaurants, all within a short walking distance.

I would like to highlight Jennifer. She is a model employee. She is a very hard worker and helped to make our stay enjoyable and satisfying. She welcomed my husband and me to the Inn on a Sunday night. There was a problem with the heater in the requested room, however, Jennifer relocated us to another room which we had never stayed in...the Americana. It was colorful and bright and comfortable. The next day she perfected the room by bringing the room to a higher standard by changing sheets and pillowcases and completed the stocking of the refrigerator. Jennifer doesn't have to be asked to do something. She is quick to assess and accommodate to make one's stay perfect. She multi-tasks receiving guests with a smile, handling phone calls and scheduling room stays, cleaning rooms at times, and doing laundry. She does it all...pouring wine in the evening before the room tour. She even helped in the restaurant as she accommodated guests and handled incoming calls to the Baywood Inn. When I return to the B&B, I want Jennifer to welcome my husband and me back and be able to take care of our needs. Kudos to Jennifer. An added note: Best breakfasts at the Back Bay cafe across from the Inn which your vouchers apply. Thank you, Jennifer, for making our 4 nights stay special!

We've stayed at Baywood Inn many times. Jennifer checked us in; we had never met her before. She was so great. Seemed to anticipate everything we needed. Always cheerful and ready to be of help to us. She made our stay particularly special. Our room's heater didn't work. She immediately got us into another room without a fuss. Even gave us the choice of a couple of rooms of equal value to the original. What a valuable employee she must be for the Inn.

My room had a wonderful, serene view of the bay. It was quiet and relaxing. Many dining options nearby and the proximity to Cayucos gave it a 5 star location rating by my estimation! Very friendly innkeeper, and coffee, snacks, and wine offerings welcomed me the moment I arrived.

We really enjoy returning to Baywood Inn every time we take the coast trip to San Francisco and then on to wine country. The rooms are delightfully decorated and very comfortable. And the food at the bayside cafe the street is scrumptious. The blackberry scones are to die for!!! Also good Mexican food next door. Very fresh and friendly service.

My husband and I stayed at this Inn that they call a Bed & Breakfast. This is the first time we have stayed at a B&B that did not serve us breakfast. We were given a voucher to find a place to eat between 3 different places. Since it was Thursday there was only option available. The Inn keeper had a major attitude towards us from the beginning. The room was nice and clean. We did receive an AARP discount but did not like having to go someplace else to find breakfast or the attitude of the Inn keeper. We will not stay there again.

Stayed a few months ago and the room we chose was amazing we couldn't of been more pleased. When I had to return to SLO for business last week we stayed at Baywood Inn again. Requested the same room and couldn't believe how noisy the room and lounge room up above was, thought there was construction going on until well after midnight. Not sure if we will stay at the Inn again, plus the heater didn't work in the morning, we were very cold.
4.4 on August 05, 2013
This trip started off poorly when my husband and I arrived at the Inn just in time to see the staff member working the front desk bolt away from us and out the back door. We were quite upset that after a long drive she would look straight at us, then go out the other way. After and hour the staff member returned and at that time she acted as if nothing had happened. After this small fiasco the stay was great. We utilized the wine and cheese hour and were happily surprised at the generous glasses of wine and great restaurant atmosphere. We also dined at the La Palapa restaurant where this happy hour was hosted. The Country Cottage Suite was very cute and clean. It is comfortable with a living space and a bedroom. I especially liked the fireplace. If you don't care too much about bunnies and ducks on the wall, this room was slightly less expensive and very nice. We also dined at the Good Tides breakfast joint. It looks small but they had a killer veggie scramble and croissant. Definitely go there for the included breakfast.

We stayed at the Baywood Inn Bed & Breakfast for two days in the Manhattan 100 Suite. It was very nicely decorated and very pleasant. The room had everything we would have wanted it to have and the price was quite reasonable. Also, the location was just fabulous - just across the street from the bay. I liked the fact that we could have breakfast 3 different places. We choose Good Tides bistro and that was very nice and homey, plus the food was really good. Would highly recommend this location for a short getaway as there is so much to do nearby. Marcy Wingard, Newbury Park, CA

I've not been to Los Ossos in over 30 years. I was looking for the best accommodation centrally located between Morro Bay and Pismo. I took my two daughters on a once in a life time trip to see where I grew up at and enjoyed my childhood at the beach. I chose the Baywood Inn Bed & Breakfast. Having never been there before It looked ok on line. After a long day sight seeing and driving, we arrived. I knew I picked the right place. The staff was great!! All smiles and friendly and after a long drive we were ready for a nice quite night. After we got settled in off we went to the beach right across the street and dove in, the water was great cold like the lakes where we are from in Washington. After a great nights sleep we had breakfast across the street at the Back bay café great food. We all ate the scrambled eggs and apple smoked bacon on a bed of spinach with real sour dough toast. yummy!! Back to the Inn to pack up for another day of sight seeing. The staff again was at their best. Check out was simple and not rushed. We chatted for a while and visited with the Inn's mascot a small shy friendly dog my girls made friends with. I given the opportunity in the future I would stay for a week and make the Baywood Inn my destination rather than a stop for the night. Thanks so much for your hospitality Robert and the girls Medical Lake, Wa.

We made our reservation for just me and my husband for our anniversary. Our whole family was in town there for a graduation and we ended up having our kids with us the first night. The Baywood Inn said that would be no problem at all. After checking in they followed us up to our room with extra blankets and pillows and made sure we had everything we needed. A few hours later they returned up to our room with extra hot chocolate and mugs for the kids and even gave us some more free breakfast vouchers! They even stocked up the mini fridge with extra soda and gatorade and some snacks that were all included. The entire stay was very much like that. The staff there are extremely nice and caring. We stayed in the Appalacian room and it really felt like a cozy little cottage. The view from our room was beautiful. We loved everything about this place and will definetely stay there again. I've also recommended this place to my family and friends. It was also very affordable for everything that is included and the excellent service. On our last day there we returned to the room after a day of shopping and having dinner and the staff brought us up some really yummy truffles on a plate with a framed letter saying Happy Anniversary to us. We thought that was a very sweet gesture.

What a beautiful place! Loved the decor, the fireplace, the staff! The bed was so comfortable, as well as the couch. So nice to have breakfast too, i have already recommended it to friends and family. The drinks and snacks made it feel extra welcoming, and we will definately be back!

The Baywood Inn continues to provide excellent service as well as wonderful rooms with amenities including drinks, snacks and a DVD library. There were three restaurant choices for breakfast. The Hotel was very nice. Beautiful location and the staff was all so helpful. They allowed your to go upstairs and get more room supplies/food if you wanted more. The breakfast voucher to the Mexican Restaurant was the best. Food was ample and it was right next door to the hotel. I would stay here again!
4.0 on July 13, 2013
The rooms are great. The fact that the suite we were in (cottage) had a private bedroom meant a lot, because we could put our son to bed in there and then watch a film on TV (which you cannot do at a regular hotel). The breakfast at the cafe across the street was awesome. The service was great: they provided a rollaway bed for our son and a breakfast voucher. The only thing that spoiled the experience somewhat was that the sheets had not been changed (covered in hair of different lengths...yuck) and some of the towels had traces of makeup on them, which suggests that room cleaning tried to cut corners on that one. When I contacted the innkeeper, they were very gracious and came right away and replaced everything. OVerall good experience. Will stay there again.

There were 4 of us that stayed in the Tex-Mex suite (July 4-7) & we were so impressed with it. Rooms were very clean & the mini fridge was well stocked with complimentary drinks & snacks. The staff was very attentive. Put it all together & our family had a very memorable 4th of July!

We stayed here over the 4th of July holidays. The room has a great view of the bay, being on the 2nd floor. The room was clean, and service was good, when you could find them. Dining at La Palapa was an experience. The food was excellent, but one of the staff never put silverware and napkins out(this happened both times we ate there). A waitress apologized, and gave me a free beer. For breakfast, we went to the Bayside cafe, the food was excellent there as well. Okay, now the odd things. Most of the electrical plugs are very loose, so if you try and charge things, it won't stay plugged in. The glass coffee table seems hazardous, definitely an "adult" room. A thick mat in the bathroom made it difficult to close the door, not a big deal. All said, we would stay there again!

My husband and I were on our way up to Northern California, and we wanted to stay near SLO for a night to break up our drive. We saw the Baywood Inn on-line, and the reviews were good, so we thought we would try it. The Baywood was wonderful! The room was unique, cute, and comfortable. We enjoyed the wine tasting next door that was complimentary to our stay. We had breakfast at Good Tides, and it was delicious! The food was tasty and healthy, and the fruit was amazingly sweet. Our stay at the Baywood was very enjoyable, and I would definitely go back to stay there again!

What a delight. We live on the Central Coast and our usual destination for a get-away over the years has been to Cambria. A co-worker suggested the Baywood Inn Bed & Breakfast and we were not disappointed. There are so many activities available with the Inn conveniently located near San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. Looking forward to our next stay!

Staying at the Baywood Inn is a not-to-be-missed experience. Everything about the Inn is top drawer. From the friendly staff to the delightfully decorated rooms to free amenities it all exceeds expectations! My friend and I took the Avonlea Suite for one night & wished we could have stayed longer. The bedrooms were huge and oh so comfortable. The sitting room with a fireplace was delightful. We had our own dining table and enjoyed a full breakfast from The Good Tides Cafe which was delivered from across the street. The amenities included free water, energy drinks & soda in our fridge, free popcorn if we wanted to watch one of their free DVDs. Warm & comfortable rooms. The staff was very nice as well. Warm and welcoming. Definitely consider this B&B if you are in the area. This was my 2nd visit in 10 years & I would love to visit them again.

The room was quiet, charming and comfortable. We loved the basket of goodies and the choices of restaurants for breakfast. The walk along Morro Bay is always outstanding. The room we had next to the office was very nice except for the view out of the back window. Someone had stowed an old headboard out there in front of a fence. It was a little trashy to look at - kind of at odds with the rest of the place. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

A Group of 4 between 31-52yrs. We stayed at the Baywood Inn as a stopover from LA to Monterey. This place is truly beautiful and if i was in this part of america again i would definately stay here. The beds were lovely and the decor cute because each room has been decorated to different style and timelines. We stopped off at Santa Barbara on the way and arrived after the ususal check in time. We rang ahead and they left keys for our apt in the dop box outside the office. The only downsides to this trip were that the restaurants close at 9pm so we coudnt use them that evening. The other was that there was a funny air vent come cooler/heater which allowed the two rooms no privacy as you could hear everything from room to room, which could have been embarrassing. The bay has a tide and i woke early and went for a walk, the tide was out and wading birds were making use of the mud flats. Breakfast vouchers were given as there are no facilities for breakfast at the baywood, these are redeemable locally in various places and we enjoyed the breakfast we were able to claim. As we were leaving to travel to our next destination the mist started rolling in and gave an eerie faewell. Thank you

We love the location of the Baywood Inn, and the choice of multiple restaurants for breakfast. However, in the Manhattan Room, we noticed a few of the lamps and the alarm clock didn't work. The light switches and hot/cold water in the shower were backwards from the standard and or labeled incorrectly. This resulted in a surprise "cold" shower in the morning. Also, there was a bedside table only on one side of the bed, I had to place my book and water on the floor, a bit awkward..But, all in all, we love this location and would stay again, especially if the items mentioned were corrected.

If you'd like to get away from busy streets and relax in a clean and quiet room this is your place. Since we found this jewell by the sea we have stayed 3 times in the same room. The room was recently improved with new carpets, beautiful bedding and electrical outlets. Across the street is a fabulous little cafe that makes the best french toast I've tasted. The inn was filled yet so quiet you'd never know it.

This location is a treasure for many reasons, not the least is the friendly greeting and the hospitality shown by the staff. The two men in our party loved the treats available during checkin! Due to prior commitments, we were unable to partake of the breakfasts offered, but all three venues sounded well worth exploring. Next time!

We did not anticipate how this place would be. The picture on the web page does not merit the actual place. The reception was outstanding. We were a little over the time for happy hour and the front desk just got the drink for us to enjoy in our own room. It does make a great difference because we did have a long drive. The place is just close to the bay and just being there is so relaxing. Who want to spend money overseas. Should look into what our country can offer.

Everything was great with the Baywood. If I had one complaint, the service at breakfast was not good. The waiter seemed preoccupied with his friends in the kitchen (we could hear them all laughing and joking) and when we wanted to leave we could not find him. After about ten minutes we just left. I should also mention there were only three tables with people there.

I had the pleasure to stay at the Baywood Inn and I would go back in a heartbeat. I never know when I book something online but this place exceeded my expectations in all respects. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was actually larger than I thought it would be. Do yourself a favor, avoid the typical hotel and stay here!

It was our 1st time staying in a B and B and Baywood Inn has set the bar really high. The room was really clean and special. the view from the room was spectacular. The Mexican restaurant next door was really good. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.
4.6 on March 12, 2013
We stayed in the Cape Cod room, my girlfriend and I being particularly fond of the east-coastal vibe. The room is huge! This is one of the best values I have ever experienced. They give you vouchers for breakfast (not on-site), which are good for 3 restaurants within 100 yards of each other. We went to Back Bay Cafe the first day and it was so good we went again the next day! Get the frittata, and consider yourself lucky if they have the Linguica. The bacon is also good. When we arrived, we had to wait a little because the manager was off-site. But it turned out to be fine because she was setting up the FREE wine for guests at the Mexican place next door. The room was almost perfect. The fireplace and sitting area were wonderful, and the bed and bath area were clean and comfortable. The only, and I mean only, problem we had with the room was that the ceiling/2d floor had a squeaky spot right above the bed. For light sleepers this could be a problem. But all of the rooms looked excellent and the service was superb. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone staying in Los Osos, and I would stay here again.

My boyfriend and I drove up from southern California to have a two day getaway to reconnect with one another. This was the perfect place! Hardly anyone was there and the peace and quiet was much needed. The Baywood provided everything we needed and more. They even had a dvd library! The view from the Williamsburg room was beautiful and there were a lot of good hiking areas and outdoor activities to keep us occupied. We suggest the La Palapa for dinner! We ate there every night. If you cant make it up to the Baywood in the summer I highly suggest the spring. The weather is just a little cool but the beauty of the area and the lack of people makes it a wonderful experience!

We initially had planned to stay in Morro Bay. So happy that we found this place in Bayview! We really enjoyed this sleepy little town and the surrounding area.

Great room (Cape Cod) with tons of space, free drinks & goodies and a wonderful view. We loved the breakfast dining options, but I could see how some people looking for a more traditional B & B experience may not like it. Only problems we encountered were tons of road work in the area, which the Baywood Inn has no control over and the room noise from above. It was great until the BIG guest upstairs wanted to march around before bedtime and I knew when he rolled over in bed. But I would not for a second hestitate going back! I just might try an upstairs room, though.

I spent a night there with the girlfriend as the last romantic weekend before I deploy overseas. The staff was fantastic, they were fast and friendly, the view of the bay from our room was beautiful. Being able to relax on the couch in our suite with a glass of wine with a fire in the fireplace was a very nice end to a great day.

The room was very spacious and we enjoyed the fireplace while we were there. Two of the three cafes that serve breakfast for the Inn were open during our stay and the meals were small but good. All were just across the street so it was very easy and low key. The fridge was restocked with water but had to ask for the juice to be restocked. The room was clean and the linens changed when requested. The staff were very nice both in person and on the phone. The value is about average given the location and local pricing. I would go back when visiting the area.

What a great find! For just over $100, we had a romantic room with a great view of the Bay, a working fireplace, adorable furnishings that really made you feel like you were in a faraway place (France for us...we stayed in the La Provence room), and a giant free glass of wine to start off the night. I highly recommend staying here when you want to break up your drive to or from the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Great place to spend a night!

We have stayed here various times over the past years, and have always had an amazing time. Baywood Park is such a wonderful, peaceful break from life in downtown LA. I love birds, so the birdwatching in winter is a big bonus. The inn is one of our fave places to stay...love the rooms and the service too. We stayed in the Santa Fe room this time and loved it. Will come back again and again.

The rooms and service were lovely, quiet and well appointed. The best thing about this lovely B & B is the short trip out your door to the lovely central coast. A birder's paradise!
4.4 on December 27, 2012
We stay at the Baywood every year when we visit relatives. We try a different room each time, and have never been disappointed. One downside to La Provence - the outdoor lights permeates through the blinds, making the room a little lighter than I would prefer. In most other rooms, the bed is further from the blinds. They could use some light-blocking curtains. Other than that minor complaint, we love the Baywood. Breakfast at La Palopa was slow service, but good food. Definitely recommend a retreat to this quiet and beautiful corner of California.

The location is great and price is unbeatable! We stayed at 2 bedroom suite and it was nice. Both bathrooms were pretty big. We had breakfast at La Palapa restaurant (only available on weekend) and it was outstanding. Breakfast potatoes were the best I ever had. The only issue with this bed and breakfast is that they did not change sheets from the previous guests. There were somebody's hair on my sheet. I was very upsetting since everything else was great.
Thank you for the review of our Inn. At the Baywood Inn we take great pride in providing a super-clean room. With regards to the "hair on the sheet" sheet issue, we do take this seriously. Just a simple call to the innkeeper and we would have promptly replaced with clean linen and remade the bed. For your information, we do change out ALL linens after every check out with fresh, clean towels and sheets. In addition, it is our hotel policy during same guest stayover to change out any towels daily, when placed on the floor. We wash all of the linens on premises using detergent and bleach with our state of the art washers and commercial linen dryer. Due to guest sensitivities to dye and perfumes, we do not use fabric softener. We do apologize for your inconvenience and will redouble our efforts to insure this does not happen again. Maria and the Staff at the Baywood Inn.

The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. We stayed in the Briar Rose room. It was clean and stocked with snacks and drinks such as tea, coffee, soda and Gatorade. We were provided various options for breakfast from the local resturants next to the inn (included in room price). The food was very good. The only issue we had was regarding the wireless access. It was not available in our room, but we could use it in the lobby and parking lot. Other than that our stay was very relaxing.. We will return.

I was a little skeptical about this office building-turned-B&B, but it actually works. The room themes all seemed varied, with a large potential for the "cheese" factor, be we were pleasantly surprised when we showed up. The Santa Fe was decorated tastefully, comfortably, and actually made us wish we were staying longer. The in-room free wireless was also a nice surprise and useful in planning and verifying last minute wine tasting and attraction info. We were anything BUT impressed, though, with the Good Tides breakfast. There were flies all over the eating area, and just a counter order/pick-up service, with a woman who was trying to do too many things. Food was undercooked, heat lamps didn't work, and the portions were just average -- we ended up ordering and paying for extra food beyond our alotted ticket portion from the hotel. We went to Good Tides based on the menu and reviews we'd seen, but the place across the street from the hotel was doing a much better business, and we wished we had gone there instead. We'll come back to the Baywood Inn, but won't eat at Good Tides.

I met a girlfriend from LA mid-way here in Morro Bay & we really enjoyed the back bay area, & our two bedroom tex-mex suite at the Baywood Inn. A special bonus was the Sunday Peter Paul & Mary Revue on the local pier! Morro Bay & Cayucos were our nearby dining spots.
3.4 on August 19, 2012
Room was above average - good decor, very clean, & nice amenities. Not a true B&B ... Vouchers provided for breakfast at a couple of local places. For breakfast (& lunch & dinner) don't miss Good Tides (a hole in wall restaurant) - chef is personable & food is outstanding. Big plus is enchanting view of the bay from 2nd story rooms!
3.6 on August 15, 2012
Baywood Inn was a pleasant surprise. While not located in the more bustling tourist town of Morro Bay it offered an exceptional room (really more of a one bedroom apartment). Nice Country French decor in the Quimper room and a comfortable queen size bed. My wife and I are used to a king-size bed but we managed well with the queen bed. Staff was attentive but since they divided their time between the Mexican restaurant next door and the hotel their response time was a little slow. Vouchers were given for breakfast to be used at 3 locations right next to the hotel. Food was good at the 2 places we tried but we would have enjoyed a more typical B&B type of breakfast served in the facility. We visited the Hearst Castle and it was a very pleasant 40 minute drive to the visitor center. The town of Morro Bay is about 10 minutes from the hotel. The Baywood Inn is a convenient place to stay if you prefer a more quiet environment while being only a short distance away from other tourist attractions.

The Baywood Inn sits across from the water on the Back Bay. Having once lived in the area, I heard this inn recommended many times. It did not disappoint. The Baywood/Los Osos community is quiet, Slower than "SLO". While the location does require a commute to downtown San Luis Obispo, it puts you smack next to Montana de Oro State Park and Morro Bay. Sweet Springs Preserve is within walking distance. Rooms are large, with great views and outstanding cleanliness. Service is terrific. Our room had a poor shower head, working but wimpy. The Inn replaced it within hours. A nice, quiet stay on the bay.

The Baywood Inn B&B in Baywood Park/Los Osos, California is a charming place right on the Bay. I stayed 6 night in the Manhattan, while a bit old fashion the room was spacious and had plenty of charm and very clean. Extra blankets and pillows were provided without having to ask and there was so much storage, everywhere, it really felt like I was in someone's home. So nice to curl up in front of my gas fireplace after sunset as the fog rolled in. The best part of the stay was the Girls that work there. Friendly, and accommodating in all respects. The little touches like free drinks and snacks in the room and the free wine with chips and salsa "happy hour" were wonderful. There was a choice of 2-3 places to eat free breakfast and all were wonderful in there own way. The same locations were just steps away for lunch or dinner and the food and atmosphere was so enjoyable. The area overall has so much to offer, with stunning views, charming towns, bird estuary, great seafood and hiking abounds! Comparatively, a great value for the area!

My husband and I always stay at a B&B whenever possible as we get almost always getter better service, better value for our money, and opportunities to socialize with the owners or Inn manager. We also really like the personalized, varied, and unique meals we get for breakfast. We had stayed at the Baywood Inn in September 1995 for our 5th wedding anniversary and really liked it. Unknown to us, The Baywood Inn took the breakfast room and converted it to a guest room, forcing us to use coupon vouchers for neighboring restaurants. One restaurant was very crowded, one restaurant did not open on time according to their posted openings and closings (and was only available to Inn guests on weekends), and the last restaurant offered a limited selected to Inn guests. We were given a choice of 4 restaurants and 2 of them were Mexican. Allthough I will say the restaurant we did end up eating at 2 days in a row, The Good Time Cafe (Organic Food) had excellent food, but there was no indoor seating.

My wife and I were married on July 4th and spent our honeymoon here. We were absolutely thrilled when we walked into the room and couldn't have been happier with our whole experience. Our room (the Cape Cod) was lovely, the view was great, the service was wonderful and the whole experience provided a spectacular honeymoon experience. We will come back again and again. I looked all over the Web for an affordable B&B and the Baywood Inn is the best value in the entire Morro Bay area, hands down. One draw back was that being on the first floor we could hear what sounded like stomping from the upstairs room. Next time we will get a room on the second floor, it would also have an even better view of the Bay..

We were hoping for a clean bed. What we got was surprised by the nice staff, clean rooms, beautiful view. I stumbled upon Baywood Inn while searching hotels along the SoCal coast. Definitely worth another stay. It is a small town, and this hotel/B&B stands out. The morning breakfast is ok. Choice of 3 restaurants. If you are expecting world class dining, then go someplace else. Close to Morro Bay. We will be back.

We often stay at Baywood. In comparison to Monterey Bay Inn Baywood is much better at the same cost. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean with ample towels. Guests receive a voucher for breakfast at any of three nearby restaurants. The restaurants are not worth eating at. The Mexican restaurant has not been open the last two times we have stayed. The new breakfast eatery next door is in the back of an omelet shop that is run by a very rude waitress. The breakfast shop across the street is below average in quality. But... the Inn is a great place to stay. Just plan on eating in San Luis or Morro Bay.

This B&B is comparable in price to local coastal hotel rooms. Every room is large with fireplaces and each has a unique decor theme. Location is quiet and off the beaten path. All rooms face a coastal estuary and sunset views. Only complaint is breakfast is off site at adjacent cafe, but they make up for it with a very generous free "wine tasting". We will be coming back often.
3.4 on June 14, 2012
The location is outstanding. It seemed odd to have a B&B that served breakfast from 3 restaurants. The food was not special like you get at a "real" B&B. But, the included items were very nice, Water, Ice Tea, coffee, granola bars and wine at 5PM. There is a micro wave and refrigerator. We thought it was pricey.

Baywood Inn is a nice B & B in the TINY little town of Baywood. The staff are VERY warm and welcoming. The afternoon wine with chips and salsa was really nice after hiking all day at nearby Montana de Oro (a MUST DO if you are anywhere near there!) The location is amazing, directly across the street from the water/bay. Views from the room were great. This is definetly the place to stay if you are looking to be "off the beaten path"!!!!! Very quite and peaceful :)

I booked our 1 night stay at the Baywood Inn B&B after sifting through many other hotel descriptions, pricing and locations online. I chose this one as it was a bit off the tourist path and other reviewers mentioned it's quiet location which appealed to me and my partner. Our room, "Cape Cod" suite was promoted by the Baywood as the "most popular" room booked there so I said that sounds good to me. And, it really was. When we walked in it was contemporary, clean, spacious and had a view of the bay. A large living room area with a gas fireplace, TV, couches, armchairs, large soft bed, nicely appointed bathroom with Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. In the lobby, There were fresh cookies and coffee when we signed in and a complimentary afternoon happy hour was waiting for us next door; serving wine and as much as you would like. The Baywood staff was friendly with a smile and could not do enough for us. The in-room refrigerator was stocked with waters and Gatorade, also complimentary, granola bars for the days walking or hike, and other snacks which were included with the price. Did I mention that breakfast is also included each morning and you have your choice of 3 different locations which are all good choices. We chose the Backbay Cafe across the street for their excellent strong coffee "The Fog Lifter" and the yogurt/granola/bananas bowl breakfast. Yum! There are nice walks to enjoy at the Sweet Water Natural Preserve and also the Elfin Forest which offer a peaceful and tranquil appeal. So, for the price and a pretty location, I can't say enough good things about the Baywood Inn B&B. I would recommend that you take a look for yourself. It might just be the perfect getaway for your visit to Morro bay! Ps. On our trip back from Asilomar, a week later, we booked an additional overnight stay before the longer trip home back to San Diego. We stayed in the Kennsington. Although not our style of decor, it was just as comfortable with all the same amenities:)

A gem! So quiet and lovely yet close to the other Central Coast POIs. While there's fog on the coast, no problem, go inland a few feet and the sun shines! Cape Cod suite is delightful and after a tour of the other rooms I think there is a decor or layout to suit almost everyone. We enjoyed the breakfast coupons for near by local cafes to try different menus and really help the local economy in the tiny paradise of Baywood. Return? Oh yeah.

We needed our GPS to find this Inn. The room was very comfortable and reasonable value but the dining arrangements were a serious letdown for us. We had hoped for more choice in the evening and the two breakfast options were close by but only had outdoor seating which was uncomfortable in the cold damp weather.

When checking in the personnel were professional but lacked warmth. When checking out, the instructions noted to give the keys to the office but one one was at the office even though in was posted office hours so left key in the room and was not able to lock the room. Room was nice and the view of the bay and surrounding area was real nice.

Everything at the Baywood Inn was excellent - just how we remembered it the time before; we plan to keep coming back. Tremendous value for such a wonderful place to stay, gorgeous view of the bay and very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside was the Mexican restaurant next door is never open for breakfast when they say they will be open, but the other two options for breakfast are great.

Stayed here during our honeymoon and have been back two or three times since. Offers an amazing view of shallow end of Morro Bay (Great place for Birdwatchers to watch ducks, grebes, etc...). Rooms are decorated very well and always very clean. Don't get the impression of overdoing the quaintness that I feel at some other places with themed rooms. They provide a better assortment of complimentary items then I'm use to. I feel the price is really good given the area where you can spend the same amount for a chain hotel. Complimentary breakfast is available at three restaurants immediately adjacent to the property. We only tried one of the options this last time and while the food was good the service was slow.

From it's description, I thought this Inn would be on the beach, but it was not. It was off season and we received a coupon to have breakfast at a restaurant closeby, a disappointing experience. The room was very attractive- I would give it 3 stars for cleanliness. Service was good. I would not stay there again.

We really appreciated having two rooms and the complimentary water, soda, and iced tea. We loved the small town feel which was most noticable during our meals with the locals. The location is great! It's right off the highway and close enough to many attractions in the area. During our 8 night vacation from San Francisco to San Diego, this was by far the best value! We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and hope to get out there again someday. Syracuse, NY

This is the second time we've had trouble getting breakfast at the mexican restaurant next door (La Palapa). There are other options, but if La Palapa isn't going to open when they say they will, they should be removed as an option. La Palapa was supposed to open at 8:30, when we checked for the third time at 9:15 and they still were'n't open, we went to the Good Tides Coffee house. Good Tides was good but it's not a "sit-down" place. We wanted to have breakfast then start our day of sightseeing, but this waiting around through-off our day.

The room was nicely arranged and the complimentary drinks and snacks were great! However, we did have an uninvited guest (mouse) that shared the room with us. The food was fresh, but alittle skimpy. I had to pay for more fruit.

Our family of 4 had a great stay at Baywood Inn B&B. Our accommodations were spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and fairly new --- not your typical B&B at all. The rooms were also very reasonably priced. Breakfast vouchers were given for breakfast next door or across the street at a local restaurant. The food was very good and there was a nice local neighborhood feel to the restaurants. We tried both and they were very good and even in January they were both set up for dining outdoors -- what a treat! There was also a laundromat conveniently located just down the street as well as several other local restaurants. The Thai restaurant was great! The area itself is very quiet but there are many things to do within a short drive. This was the perfect restful retreat halfway through our weeklong family vacation.

The Baywood folks are a truly hospitable bunch. Made us totally welcome and cheerfully upgraded our room when a problem developed with our originial choice. Excellent breakfasts "in the neighborhood", especially at the Back Bay Cafe right across the street with open air views to the bay, birds and flowers along with their yummy food, sunny personalities and the NY Times offered gratis. Close to Morro Bay and wonderful state parks. Excellent birding and other wildlife viewing. Friendly and truly laid back. Great energy for world weary travelers needing a break from it all. I loved the peace and quiet of Baywood. It's a great little get away with amazing sunsets and very friendly people. Baywood Inn staff was very helpful, although sometimes hard to contact. I will definitely return, as the off season rates are fantastic. Don't expect great cuisine in Baywood, although there are planety of decent restaurants a short drive away. I highly recommend Baywood Inn if you want a peaceful get-away.

The room was the best we stayed in over a 3 week period touring California and Nevada. Bed and room and toilet fittings were of a high standard and everything worked including the fire. We had difficulty finding the inn at night as it is a bit off the beaten track and the sign post wasn't lit-up. The only negative aspects were the service at night was only just ok and we had to chase them up in the morning. Nobody was around at 9 o'clock then a slightly surly young woman arrived about 15 minutes late without apology of any kind and proceeded to key in the credit card wrongly. It might have been an off day but it took the edge off a really nice place with a lot of potential. We would consider staying there again.

Beautiful view, lovely room. Stayed at the La Provence room and everything was just right. Quiet neighborhood, friendly staff, affordable price. All in all a very nice experience. The breakfast spot was a bit disappointing but everything else was wonderful. We'll be back.

It was a great stay in every way. The only complaint was the electrical outlet in our bathroom did not work. So a little inconvenient not being able to dry hair in our room. Wonderful otherwise. Made for a wonderful reunion with my family and friends.

We were so impressed with our stay. The staff from the absolute beginning was awesome. The food was also amazing. We were on our "Honeymoon" and they even brought us flowers and a "Toast" to our room. We have told our friends about the wonderful experience we had and we will also be back. Thank you!

We loved our weekend stay at The Baywood Inn! We found The Country Cottage room to be very cozy and inviting! It is somewhat dated in the decor department and the wall outlets need to be repaced, however, no other complaints and would highly recomend the Inn to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing and romantic getaway! We are looking forward to our next stay there, the view is breathtaking!

We booked for one nite but enjoyed it soo much we stayed for two. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. 3 options for breakfast voucher, loved the wine social. Also great pizza at Brigadones and Thai food up the street. You never have to get in your car unless you want to get to Sand Spit Beach and spend the day. The Inn manager Maria is the best. Very accommodating to your requests. We totally enjoyed our stay and will return.

This was my first experience at a bed and breakfast. My wife and I were refered to the Baywood Inn as it is close to my nephew and his wife's home. It was an excellent choice. We will stay there again when we go to Los Osos.

We arrived mid afternoon. Desk receptionist (and host for the cocktail hour) was very pleasant and helpful. Great view from our room on the second floor. Room was light and colorful. Room configuration was good. Bathroom exhaust and heater appear dated and in need of remedial adjustment as does the one downstairs. Vibration from these items are quite notable. Suggest bleach or re-caulking of one section of the shower. Otherwise room was beyond reproach. Cocktail hour at the adjoining Mexican restaurant was somewhat curious. Although the wine was of good quality, chips and salsa as an accompaniment do not seem to match. Maybe me, but beer seems better associated with this food item and that was not offered. Of the three restaurant choices for breakfast, opted for a return to the Mexican restaurant. Quite filling and tasty entrees. Server was very accommodating.

The owners have done a fine job in converting an office building into a pleasant B&B. The rooms are spacious; we enjoyed the relative simplicity of the Santa Fe room. The Baywood provides an excellent 'home base'' for exploring Montana De Oro and other nearby attractions. The breakfasts are provided via arrangement with nearby restaurants. We found the cafe across the street to be a good place to enjoy a simple breakfast outdoors. It is popular with locals, and the service is surprisingly good given the modest staff, the choices, and the throughput of early risers. I'm not certain how well any of the breakfast options would work during unpleasant weather (they are geared to outdoor dining). The wireless internet service was intermittent; the owners are aware of the problem, and I expect it to be addressed.

We stayed at the Baywood Inn on our trip from LA to Portland and had an amazing stay...The girl who checked us in went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home.... WE will definitely stay there again! Great place, Great Value, Great service, Thanks Baywood for making our trip wonderful!! Mary Beth and Brien :)

This was my second stay at the Baywood Inn and I plan to return again and again. It is a lovely place for a personal retreat - only you will want to strike up a conversation with the friendly locals who help to create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the small town of Baywood Park.

Really enjoyed my stay. Especially the separate sitting room with fire place. The bath was large and very clean. Daily drinks and snacks were a nice touch too. The Queen Victoria sweet was fun even though I am not much on pink. Would love to stay here again. Penn Frazer, St. Augustine, FL

I love the Baywood Inn. Not only are the rooms charming, well stocked and clean, the staff is the BEST! You get so much bang for your buck at this place. Goodies in your room, a great breakfast and wine tasting all included. The staff and especially the Manager, Maria will go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and taken care of. I would recommend this place to anybody!! Great view too from the rooms facing the bay!

This was my 5th visit so I knew just what to expect, making it hard to exceed my expectation. In the Tex-Mex room they could make sure that the windows all had screens, in that there is no A/C. One outlet was broken and the one in the bathroom did not work at all. The staff was delightful and helpful

What a wonderful, relaxing spot to conclude out week-long vacation. Upon check-in, we were escorted to our room! (Before going to our room, I must mention the cookies and candy in the lobby.) We were surprised to find drinks in the frig and popcorn, hot cocoa, tea, and granola bars on the microwave -- all complimentary! They had a computer with internet access available for use on the premises, as well as a bookshelf of dvds we could use in our room for free. We were in the Cape Cod room, which was absolutely wonderful. It was more like a suite, with a separate living room. Baywood Inn is definitely a place I would like to stay at again. I must say, though, that after coming from Big Sur, there's not a whole lot to do right there in the area. Our son had stayed here for a night while on his honeymoon a few months earlier and said the accommodations here were better than their place in Maui! So if you are looking for a place to stay along the way, this is the place for you. You won't be disappointed!

We have stayed here many times over 20 years and love the location. Rooms could use a more thorough cleaning/dusting but otherwise ok. Bed linens were not fresh on arrival. Value is great. We liked the new breakfast choice at New Tides. Small but friendly and good food. We enjoy the leisurely pace.
5 on August 26, 2011
Very tranquil spot. Breakfast was served across the street at the Tides. Best Blackberry scones I have ever eaten; all fresh food and we ate outside by the bay. Definitely would return!
4.4 on August 19, 2011
Baywood Inn is simply the most pleasant place to stay, especially if you enjoy watching the tides fill and empty the bay, being away from the crowds, relaxing in spacious, thematic rooms, and dining on delicious, organic, individually prepared meals. We go back year after year for a restful getaway.

Baywood was our first stop after leaving Los Angeles to drive to San Francisco along the west coast. The staff is very nice and the check in and check out is easy and fast. Our room, "Briar Rose", was very charming. It was clean and confortable, and although the room was at the ground floor near the parking, the place is quiet and there was no noise. You can choose where to take your breakfast between three different places, we chose the cafe, and it was great. The views are very beautiful.

The room was clean and quiet with an incredible view. The decor was very dated, but I would stay here again because of the location.
4.8 on August 07, 2011
WOW!! This was our final night for our vacation. We arrived late at night. The room was beautiful; and the morning view of the back bay was a welcomed sight. We ate at the cafe across the street- bacon quiche-yum!! and their Pecan baked French toast was fantastic. We have told many about this B&B and would enjoy a return visit sometime.
3.0 on August 07, 2011
Room with king bed was fine. Would have preferred TV in bedroom as the living room area furniture wasn't too comfortable. Office wasn't always staffed. Had to go off site for breakfast which was very good but I would have like both juice and coffee. Nice location across from bay. Only three rooms were occupied so it was very quiet.
3.6 on August 05, 2011
The room was comfortable and accommodating for two people who sleep separately. Views were beautiful. Best of all was the Good Tides cafe just a few steps away - we had both dinner and breakfast there, and were very pleased with the food, value, and good cheer of the staff there.
3.2 on July 26, 2011
We were in the Country Cottage last time and the Cape Cod this time. Both very cute and comfortable rooms. With a rollaway bed next to the king bed, our family of three fit comfortably, with the added benefit of having a separate living room for relaxing after our son was in bed. The shower head was a bit weak, but all other amenities were satisfactory. Love the treats and cookies, and enjoyed breakfast at the Good Tides Cafe.
3.4 on July 25, 2011
We enjoyed our stay in this quiet neighborhood. The rooms are nicely decorated, but not very private. I felt that the windows needed better covering, like drapes or better shutters. There was room noise from upstairs. The rooms were well appointed with amenities like good-quality body products and a DVD player and free snacks & water. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a meal ticket to nearby cafes, but they are not all open or available every day, and that was a bit confusing. We had good food at the Back Bay Cafe across the street, but had to sit outside, dress warm. There is a bar nearby and a liquor-market and good pizza place to take pizza to your room. Thanks Baywood for a nice stay.

The Baywood Inn is close enough to the wine country yet the tempo and pace of life is worlds away. We were able to accomplish both our goals of enjoying time wine tasting in some of our favorite places and relaxing in one of the most beautiful settings. A real gem and great value.

We loved our stay!! We stayed in the Cape Cod room at the Baywood Inn. Worth every penny! The bed was comfortable! The room was clean and beautifully decorated! Loved the view of the bay across the street! They gave us vouchers for two different Breakfast cafes close by. The one across the street served delicious breakfast and coffee. They were friendly too! The Baywood Inn had videos we could watch and complimentary snacks in the room. It was our favorite Bed & Breakfast we stayed at during our week long trip together.

Had to get a room in Los Osos for a memorial service...not a lot of options in the area, so I expected the worst. The Baywood Inn was a pleasant surpise...nice rooms, close to the water, dining nearby...loved it.
4.6 on June 17, 2011
Beautiful location, peaceful charming Los Osos and convenient to all our wants and needs. But the people made our graduation weekend including our dinner for 15 ( with one very active toddler) at the La Palapa the most enjoyable experience ever. Our large family only gets together for BIG occasions and you all made it perfect. Loved the Tex Mex rooms, clean comfortable and big. Thank you all very very much.
4.2 on June 13, 2011
We stayed at Baywood Inn over 10 years ago. During this last stay not much has changed - still a laid back sleepy location and nice rooms with great water views.
3.2 on June 13, 2011
Convenient location in Baywood. Daily breakfast voucher gave great flexibility to choose from among several eating outlets within a short walk. Decor of room is a bit cheesy (especially the foot stool in the living room) and the TV should really be located there and not in the bedroom. Be careful with the gas fireplace which does not have an automatic ignition. Matches provided are safety matches with the striking surface located in the bottom of the match container -- the written instructions don't mention that. Maid service was good, but office staff is not particularly friendly and there always seems to be various friends or relatives of the person manning the desk hanging out in the lobby so that you feel like you are intruding on a family gathering. When we have stayed at the Inn in years past, this was not the case, so maybe there has been a change of ownership.
3.6 on June 13, 2011
This was our second stay at the Baywood Inn. We love the quiet neighborhood and the size of the rooms. Breakfast is actually served at two local cafes rather than at the inn itself. This is different than most bed and breakfasts but works well. The inn is very close to Morro Bay but out of the hustle and bustle. We love it.

We stayed in the Blue Ribbon Room. It was very cute, clean, with satisfactory amenities including refrigerator, microwave, and a romantic gas fireplace. Our only complaint was that the bed was too squeaky! The location was right on the shoreline of the bay.
4.4 on May 19, 2011
We normally stay at the Inn across the street, but since they had a two night minimum, we stayed here instead, and it was a pleasant surprise! The rooms are much bigger than the ones across the street, and very modern, with lots of amenities that the other place doesn't have (Free WiFi, DVD's, Games). We were blown away by our suite with the great view of the bay (Cape Cod room)!

We recently stayed in the Avonlea Suite and it was a great stay. The rooms were quiant and inviting and the location was peaceful, calm, and relaxed. Breakfast in the morning is your choice at either two restaurants very close by (walking distance). We went with the Good Tides Coffee House both days because it was amazing and the chef there was very friendly. The food was outstanding. At 5:00p.m. there is a wine hour. For dinner try the Thai food take out restaurant up the road. It's is the best Thai I've ever had. It was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again. The Hearst castle is very close for a day trip.

Place was extremely cozy and comfortable. Clean. Warm. Spacious. View from Sante Fe room was amazing. Inn itself was great, but beware it is isolated and if you get in late, dining options are nonexistent. Thankfully the rooms have microwaves and TV dinners can be had from corner store (so long as you get there before they close at 10PM).

Stayed there in mid April, 2011. Nice room with a fireplace between the bedroom and living area. Great amount of space for the money. We used to live in Baywood. Few but locals know about this gem in a residential neighborhood that is very old California. Nothing has changed in 20 years. The people are all nice. The bakery across the street is awesome. La Palapa next door has awesome breakfast too.

I believe it was Maria, She was awesome. We felt so welcome the minute we showed up to check in. The rooms were very nice. They had complimentary waters and juices in the fridge. Complementary wine from 5 to 7 at the mexican restaurant next door. The free breakfast at the mexican restaurant next door was amazing. I had the vegetable omlet and fried potatoes. It was the best I ever had. The staff there was truly the best. Looking for our next trip to Baywood INN. We stayed in the Tex Mex room.

I'd heard of Baywood from a friend for years....thought it was a run-down place on the embarcadero of Morro Bay. NOT! This is a beautiful property; calm location away from the tourist crowds of Morro Bay proper. After factoring in the breakfast vouchers with a choice of three restaurants within walking distance, a stay at Baywood becomes even more value packed.

If you're looking for a relaxing get-a-way, the Baywood Inn is the perfect place! The rooms are very clean; the beds are comfortable; the staff is superior and the sunrises and sunsets are to die for! Baywood is a relaxed community that appears to value quality of life over quantity in life!

The Cape Cod room at the Baywood Inn is thoroughly charming. It takes a bit of work to get the gas fireplace to light, but the room is comfortable and roomy. I did use the public computer in the upstairs mezzanine which I must say needs to be updated, but it is a valuable amenity for me. A pleasant stay!

This is the second time we've stayed at the Baywood Inn in 4 months. It's very quiet and private. I priced places along the Morro Bay coastal area, and found that many of those were much more expensive, looked a bit outdated, and didn't offer nearly the value. Would not stay anywhere else now that we know about it.

My husband and i have stayed here twice in two years. It's location is great ; quiet, roomy and what a view. The bay is right across the small street. You can sit and watch the water come in and out with great coffee from the little shop across the street(150 feet away). Such a quaint little area i'm kind of sad to share, wouldn't want it to change. Great Mexican breakfast right next store- real beans and homemade tortillas. The inn is a little well loved but comfortable and affordable. Just walk and enjoy the fog and peace of this small little town.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Cape Cod suite. The room was awesome and had a beautiful view. The fireplace was amazing to come home to and to watch a movie in front of. The service was great, and they had a decent dvd collection. We had breakfast at La Palapa and it was delicious. We will definitely be back for another stay soon!

We really enjoyed our stay in the La Provence room...the photos didn't do it justice. Only complaint was the room didn't cool down until morning because of the west facing windows (we left the windows open all night). However, I'd stay there again. La Palapa restaurant was closed on Sunday...only the one table pizza place across the street was open, but we enjoyed it since we didn't feel like driving into Morro Bay. The complimentary breakfast at the Tides Coffee House was excellent and we enjoyed sitting outside in the perfect weather. All the rooms with the blinds open looked great...definitely a step above the chain hotels we saw in Morro Bay.

I would recommend the Baywood Inn to anyone. We had a great time! Our room was La Provence and it was charming and comfortable. I loved how the thermostat controlled the fireplace. Our friends were in Cape Cod and it, too, was charming and comfortable. Both rooms had great views. We were unable to use our dining tickets. One restaurant did not open as advertised at 8:00 or even at 8:30. It didn't open until 9:00 which was way too late for us. The other restaurant was outdoor seating only and it was way too cold and/or rainy to partake of that venue. We still had good breakfasts but had to pay for them so that needs to be addressed by Baywood. They should be aware if the restaurants they're contracting with change the "rules". Otherwise, everything was perfect.

I selected Baywood Inn because of its proximity to my family's house. I went there for a funeral, and mentioned that in passing to the manager, Maria. She made a point to give this information to the rest of the staff and they all worked to make my stay as "seamingless" as possible. The rest of my family checked into other hotels, and regreted it the moment I told them how well and personable Baywood Inn staff were treating me. Coming from Vegas, the rate that I got was reasonable, and the breakfast vouchers were very useful. Thank you Maria and Marjorie for your support...it was very much needed in a time that was difficult for me. I greatly appreciate your kindness. I hope to see you soon with my husband for a more pleasant occassion.

If your looking for a hidden gem for either a romantic getaway or just a quieter place to stay this is the place for you. The room are nicely appointed and I love that each room has it's own fireplace. The staff is attentive and friendly. The room had a wonderful view of the bay. Located between Los Osos and Morro Bay makes it easy to navigate between both areas for either business or leisure.

This was a lovely little place; pictures on the website didn't do the rooms justice, the rooms were much nicer in person. The room we stayed in was small but comfortable, with a fireplace and a great view of the bay. There was a coffeemaker, refrigerator, and microwave in our room, plus tea and some snacks and drinks as refreshments. The lady at the front desk was very helpful with our requests for wine glasses, recommendations, etc. Upstairs in the mezzanine Breakfast was not in the inn, but you could choose breakfast at the restaurant La Palapa next door or the little coffee house behind the Sculptured Egg (can't remember the name... sorry!) At La Palapa I had the chilaquiles, which I enjoyed very much. The coffee house had great coffee and pastries. For what we paid for our lodgings, I was very pleased.

The Inn was right across from the water, and we stayed in the Cape Cod Room, which had a little living room with a see thru fireplace. It was very roomy, the bathroom was a nice size and the bedroom was nice also. We stayed the day after Christmas for 2 days which gave us plenty of time to explore the town and walk Montana De Oro, along with the Pigmy Forest and the Sweet Springs Nature Preserve. Also you can see the "Rock" at Morro Bay which is only perhaps 15 minutes away if you want to go there and shop, or eat. If you want a quiet retreat that is clean, roomy and the price was good, this is the place for you. They have a mezzanine area on the second floor, but my husband and I never even went there, we were so excited to just go exploring. The people who live there seemed very nice also.

I have been coming back to this Inn for a number of years. It is quiet, comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. The view of the Bay is breathtaking at sunset. The area allows you to relax and recharge your batteries by taking walks along the water, watching the many birds, and resting in a quiet cozy atmosphere. Sunday morning is a wonderful time to "people watch" outside the coffee shop across the road. An endless stream of walkers/joggers and their doggies parade by. I love it here. I go back to work rested, relaxed and feeling wonderful.

Baywood Inn provides a place for quite reflection, suspended in time against a beautiful foreground of tides that ground small boats in the bay with their daily ebb and flow. Walk to the excellent bakery for "on the house" coffee and scones to enjoy in your snug room or eat on a bench as you watch the tide refill the bay. Walk around. Baywood is a town that doesn't know strangers. Or bring your bicycles for short, happy rides to explore San Luis Obispo or Morro Rock (both under 12 miles round trip). But don't let going places take away your "time-out." By the time we left our weekend retreat, our spirits bobbed like the refloated sailboats in the bay. We all need downtime. Baywood Inn gave us a warm, affordable venue for it.

The service was friendly and we felt right at home. All the rooms are decorated differently to suit anyone's taste. The view of the bay was outstanding. The breakfast across the street was delicious. My only complaint was the room stunk in the Santa Fe room. Other than that, it was an outstanding place to relax. We will go there again....

Location was fun, great for walks. Enjoyed the wine and appetizer hour. Thai place nearby was great.

The breakfast options involve 2 nearby restaurants, a Mexican restaurant next door and a coffee bar across the street. The food at both places was good, not great. The person serving the food at the coffee bar was not friendly or particularly helpful, so on our second morning we ate a very nice meal at the Mexican place, where the server was very courteous. We'll definitely go back to the Baywood Inn when we want a quiet spot in a beautiful setting.

I could not believe it was right accross the street from the water. The Mexican resturant right next door had the best breakfast ever. We loved it all.

Our spacious room had a view of the back bay, pine trees, and surrounding hills; the complimnetary breakfast across the street at the cozy and tasty Tides Coffee Cafe was an unexpected treat.

We stayed in the Quimper this time and loved the room. The only problem was a maintenance issue which you should probably look into. The vent fan in the bathroom did not work which could probably lead to a mold problem in the future. Other than that, we loved the room. It was very comfortable and we loved the theme. We have stayed in your facility at least a dozen times now and have always enjoyed our stay. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you again for another great time in your bed and breakfast inn. Hadn't been to Baywood B&B for several years Great to see that the little town hasn't changed much and the rooms have been maintained well.

Excellent location. The Mexican restaurant next door was great. The food was great, the service was great and the decor was great. The tiny coffee place across the street was also great. Food and service were great. The staff at the Baywood Inn went out of their way to please us. My husband forgot something in the room after we had left town, and the staff mailed it to us. That's above and beyond great service and we appreciated it.

We really enjoy the room, clean and nice furnished. The bay views were relaxing and the breakfast at the coffee house in front was a nice surprise!

We went to Los Osos to celebrate a brithday. We couldn't have picked a better location with the Baywood Inn. Highly recommended!!

On the outside this is a modern building, on the inside it is dressed up as a Victorian inn. That was odd to us, but some people may like it. The rooms are clean but worn. The exterior lighting makes the rooms bright all night. It is quiet and they have a nice arrangement with a coffee house across the street for breakfast. Not the normal cozy B&B atmosphere but beachy.

It's a nice and quiet place. The rooms are decorated with a lot of personal touch. Our room (Manhattan) was spacious and clean. We enjoyed our breakfast in a small cafe across the street. Also we liked free wine and the rooms tour .

What a charming B&B. The room was very clean and well appointed although the queen bed seemed like only a double and the TV was tiny. The mini fridge was stocked with soda, Arizona tea, and water. The bar had popcorn, granola bars, hot chocolate, tea and coffee. The wine tasting next door featured a winery from Lodi, CA and breakfast the next morning was at the Good Tides Bakery. The fresh ground coffee and croisants were yummo as well as the vegie scramble. All of the above was complimentary with our room. We could even see the bay out our front door while we sat in front of the fireplace. The short walk around the bay to the Sweet Springs Bird Sanctuary was a pleasant excursion. The little town of Baywood has seen better days. We were a little concerned about safety but after walking around we met so many of the friendly locals our fears were eased. If you go, pick up a copy of the Bay News from the lobby and read the Morro Bay Police and Sheriff's Logs. We laughed thru the whole page. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to get the Harley's out again and head north to the Baywood Inn.

The room was just great, the food at the restaurant across the streeth was delicious, and the morning after we had a very nice walk along the bay. It was so quite that the only thing we could hear was the sounds of the shore. I really hope I can come back!

My son and I stayed at the Baywood for 5 nights, and were quite comfortable. Our room had a bedroom separate from the living area which worked well for us. Used the vouchers from the hotel towards breakfast across the street each day...very good. The beach across the street was a little disappointing as far as not being able to really walk anywhere, but view was pretty. I'd recommend heading to Avila Beach or Pismo to enjoy the sand and surf. All in all, very enjoyable stay at the Baywood Inn.

I have stayed at this B & B three times. Each time was wonderful. This last time though, the stay was less than expected. Although it was in the middle of the week, it looks like they are not paying attention to details. Had to go next door for wine that never was served. Breakfast was across the street - not a real restaurant. Back grounds of facility need attention. It looks like it hasn't been paid attention to as in the past. The room was great, clean and cozy. The location is out of this world!! Still would recommend it. Better than in town (Morro Bay) more privacy and theme rooms are great
