I truly enjoyed my two night stay! The service was outstanding as the owner was pleasant and very helpful. The great surprise of the weekend was the scenic ocean walk that is just two blocks from the Pirouette. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

this B&B is very nice, not too far from the town centre in a nice surrounding, with nice possibilities of walks.

Lorraine was the best hostess. She gave us great information about the town and area. She worked around our kids' food choices. The house is quaint and is a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I stayed at Cottage Pirouette for 11 of our 13 nights in BC last month (July). Lorraine is a warm and genuine hostess who facilitates her guests making new friends from around the world. Her children (teens-young adults) are polite, hospitable and helpful as well. We found the location to be ideal- a quiet residential neighbourhood and only a few blocks from two of the most scenic waterfront parks in Esquimalt, with bus service at the door, and off-street parking for our rental car. Her 'green home' meshed well with our own values of recycling, composting, and using the sun and wind to dry laundry! We felt at home and at ease, and will definitely stay with Lorraine on our next trip to Victoria.

In June 2011 my friends and I stayed at Cottage Pirouette for three nights, in Daffodil, Wisteria and Camellia. The rooms were nicely decorated and everything was beautifully clean. Two of the rooms share a bathroom, but it's huge with an excellent shower and plenty of towels available. Lorraine is a wonderful host, providing tea and cake on arrival and always ready with helpful information. The location is good too, less than 10 minutes drive into Victoria in a pleasant suburb. I thoroughly recommend this b&b. We've stayed there twice now and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Lorraine and her family do an excellent job of providing a home away from home. The rooms are comfortable and clean; the breakfast is very tasty and filling. Her prices are probably about the best in Victoria. The people are absolutely the best. Lorraine is always ready to offer tips on things to do and how to get to them, and to meet any needs we had. It was so much fun interacting with other guests -- I love that Lorraine uses the traditional B&B pattern of having everyone eat together at one table. Our Victoria vacation was really enhanced by getting to know the others staying there. One thing important to us was having a room with separate beds. We are sisters who love to travel together and don't mind sharing a room but want our own beds. So often this is hard to find in a B&B, so having the ground-floor room (since we're not so good with stairs) with twin beds was perfect for us. Joy Neal Fort Worth, Texas

Lorraine makes the experience at Cottage Pirouette. She was a pleasure to stay with and get to know - not to mention being very helpful in planning our days. The rooms were nicely done. The breakfasts were tasty and well-prepared (always including fresh-baked muffins or bread) but were not the more elaborate meals offered by some B&B's. I would go back.

We felt the bedroom was basic but very clean. bed was comfortable. Lorraine was not at home when we arrived but left a note to say she had left some homemade biscuits and where we could make ourselves a tea of coffee., much appreciated. Lorraine and her family were most obliging and gave us some helpful ideas regarding sightseeing. We especially enjoyed the Westway walk into Victoria. Cottage Pirouette was a great place to leave our car and head into Victoria by bus, only a 10 minute ride, therefore no parking problems in the city. We were there for two nights and found good places for dinner not far from the cottage.

We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our room - Azalea - with Lorraine even helping with our bags. The visit was to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and our stay was one of the highlights of our visits to Victoria. A beautiful room that was spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good, with requests quickly and efficiently accommodated. While guests were visiting over the table, Lorraine took pains to make sure that everyone had what they wanted. I wouldn't hesitate to consider returning here in the future. Lorraine went above and beyond in making the stay an enjoyable and pleasurable experience. A beautiful home, in a gorgeous area, and the innkeeper having a temperament to match!

We spent 2 nights, and got what we were looking for, a comfortable room and wholesome breakfast. Due to the short time we were there, we did not spend much time on the property, but we enjoyed the time we were in the room and enjoyed a warm and tasty breakfast.

This was my first bed and breakfast stay and it exceeded my expectations. I felt like I was home away from home and Lorraine was so sweet and helped us with directions and suggestions for Victoria Island, which all turned out to be great experiences. The breakfast was wonderful and she was open to any suggestions. The home was very clean and tidy. I definitely will be doing another bed and breakfast again and I can only hope the experience is as good as this one. You definitely won't be disappointed here!

I was in Victoria for a conference and wanted a comfortable, quiet place to rest at night, close to but not quite in the city centre. I stayed at Cottage Piroette on my last trip to Canada four years ago, and returned to experience the warm hospitality that I experienced then. Lorraine and family are most helpful in giving tips for anything - including getting around and places to go. This time I got to discover the beautiful walk along the waterfront to the inner harbor. Buses into the city centre are frequent and only take 10mins, but the walk enables you to see some of beautiful Victoria from a completely different view. Tranquility. Diane

Lorraine was a wonderful blend of caring for my needs and understanding my privacy. I was very comfortable in the room assigned to me. It was very quiet which is important to me. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Cottage Pirouette for 9 days and enjoyed every minute of it. Scrumptious breakfasts, clean comfortable acomodation. This B&B is very close to the Westbay walkway, where one can walk into Victoria or run as I did every morning. Thanks Lorraine we enjoyed our stay and would reccomend this B&B to anyone visiting Victoria.

We had a nice stay with Lorraine - and it added to our great weekend in Victoria. We wished we could have stayed an extra night and indeed we will stay there again on our next visit this summer. Neil and Cordula

My May guests have all been thrilled with their stay, but if someone rates a 2 out of 5 on rooms, then I sit up and take note. Their profile says that they typically stay in premium lodging. They stayed for the low-season singles rate of $59/night, which is outstanding value in one of the most expensive cities in Canada. No parking fees, full breakfast included, free local calls and wi-fi, home-made cookies, tea and coffee available in guest kitchenette. I am only guessing, but this writer may have been the same one that wrote in our guest book "This is my first experience at a B & B, and Cottage Pirouette offer the comfort and warmth of being in your own home. Thank you for your friendly hospitality". Even so, when one's expectations are different to what is offered, there is hiccup factor. Their room would have been Daffodil, which has heritage value, and a funky persona that one would not find in a hotel. The room has massive Douglas fir panels in the ceiling, solid wood walls, and is trimmed with mahogany strips that were taken from a defunct trolley car that used to run from Esquimalt to Downtown Victoria. The creator of Daffodil was just 17 when he built his own room in 1941. He has stayed with us twice since we opened in 1997, and it has been an honour to hear his stories. He went on to become a well-loved doctor on Gabriola Island, and an award-winning creator of beautiful wood pieces. His beloved room is solid and quiet. Though I offer 2 star rates, I always want guests to have 5 star satisfaction, so I made up a framed historical explanation for the room. I bought a new mattress, down duvet, sewed up a new cover for it and I think things look spiffy in there. Hopefully even those that are only used to hotels will think it is a five star experience. We spent two nights at Pirouette. Lorraine is a good host. She brought us tea when we arrived. She connects with good conversation. The breakfasts are good and tasty.

The owner and her family made us feel at home! They provided us good advices and also many toys for our daughter Viola. Lorraine was very kind and her cottage is very nice, thank you a lot Lorraine!

The personal service set this aside. Lorraine was warm and welcoming, and saved our trip twice - on the first night by phoning around to make sure we got a meal, even though it was late, and on the morning of our departure using her family car to transport one of our bicycles to the local bike shop. Also, we really appreciated the free, safe parking for our bicycles.

We stayed for 3 nights with our two children who loved the place, especially the lego. Lorraine gives you a very warm welcome and lots of good advice plus the most scrumptious breakfasts. The rooms are clean, tidy and represent great value for money.

Excellent location - bus stop outsite with bus straight to downtown Victoria or 7 minutes in your car. Plus very close to wonderful seaside park, boat launch and rock climbing. Lovely hosts - Lorraine and her children were wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome and catered to our individual needs. Great selection of rooms - whether you're on your own, with your spouse, your Mum, your friend or are a family with children, you'll find a room/s that's right for you. Very competitive prices makes travelling in a larger group much more affordable too. We were a party of eight people, ranging from 4 months to 74 yrs old and look forward to staying again when we next visit Victoria. THANK YOU!

We stayed in one of the smaller rooms because she was booked. The room was comfortable and the B&B had everything you would need (micro, fridge and comfortable dining area for guests if you want to bring in take out, hot tub). The breakfasts were fantastic and she was very very accommodating to her guests dietary differences ( more patient than I would have been). It is walking distance (2-3 blocks) from a beautiful walk area along the water and a small flower garden. There is a bus top right outside her house that you can take into downtown Victoria (which is very close), but then you don't have to worry about parking in downtown. Their is a beautiful and elegant Inn next door which has a bar and a fantastic menu(although quite pricey, but nice for a splurge), it also has 5 acres of gardens. It is a easy drive to Butchart gardens and has a shopping center with a nice coffee place (Serious Coffee) and a nice grocery store. There is also a recreation place (with pool, gym, sauna, etc. that visitors can use very close by) and a library where you can go to check e-mail that is close by. Nice family, nice house, great location! Highly recommended.
