Piccola Ribeira B&B

I spent 4 week in the b&B and I enjoyed it a lot! The location of the b&b is wonderful: Itapagipe peninsula is less chaotic than the other parts of Salvador, but it is near Bonfim (you can reach it walking along the sea), Boa Viagem and Monte Serrat. It is also well connected with the other parts of the city. The building is a charming, old palace near the sea and near a lot of good and cheap restaurants (there is also a gorgeous ice-cream palour!). The room was clean and the staff is friendly but polite.

Le persone che a vario titolo operano intorno a Piccola Ribeira sono gentili, aperte e disponibili; sempre pronti a coinvolgerti nelle loro molteplici attività. La pensione, se pur senza pretese e piuttosto spartana, tuttavia ha tutti i confort necessari anche per il "borghese" più incallito, che in questa oasi di pace e di semplice allegria riesce a distrarsi dalla routine. Per chi desiderasse una vacanza rigeneratrice per sentirsi più giovane, lo consiglio vivamente!!! Il mio soggiorno a Piccola Ribeira è stato vivace e spensierato, se penso alle serate al pelourino, alla musica brasilera, benchè cinquantenne, mi sono sentita come una ragazzina; ma nei momenti in cui ho desiderato ritornare a fare la mamma, la porta della cucina di Lu era sempre aperta e tutti mi hanno fatto sentire a mio agio quando ho voluto cimentarmi ai fornelli.

I've been there with my girlfriend 2 times (agoust 2005 and november 2009). That's what I can say: if you are looking for a real experience of sustainable tourism here is the top! You'll find kind people at your arrival, you'll be able to share your trip experience with the B&B owners and other guests (coming from all over the world) while doing breakfast in the little inside yard surrounded by tropical plants like "mamao" (papaja), "manga" (mango) or "abacaxi" (ananas), you'll be able to partecipate to a lot of events that take place into the Piccola Ribeira Complex during the whole year. Further more the B&B is quite near to the center and you may reach the "elevator" in 15 minutes by taxi or in 30 minutes by bus. So, it's understood I'll come back as I can! Alessandro R.
