It is a landmark historic property in the Ashmont section of Dorchester and overlooks one of the loveliest residential streets in Boston. Our property was built in the Second Empire style and is featured in three books on local history. Our transit system, called the MBTA or "T", is an economical alternative to negotiating downtown traffic. The Carruth House is a very convenient 10 minute walk to the Red Line's Ashmont T Station. Downtown Boston is a 15 - 20 minute ride from Ashmont, Harvard Square is 25 minutes, and the fare is US$2 each way.
