The perfect gift for every occasion

  • Five rooms, a small restaurant, and beach beach beach!
Flip Flop the Beach Cat oversees the beach, looking from the balcony of the "Coconut Room".
    There's always hammock time.
The Hummingbird Room is one of our most economical rooms but it still has nice views of the beach from the large window near the bed.
The beach-basic rooms at Maya Beach Hotel are comfortably furnished with local hardwoods. The Coconut Room, shown here, has its own balcony overlooking Maya Beach and False Caye.
Our Bistro serves up yummy breakfasts, lunches and dinners all day. A few locals might join you for meals or drinks at the bar.
Here's our pool! Have a seat and a pina colada!
The Flip Flop Palace is an adjacent accommodations, actually a stand-alone beach house.
Our nice little spot on the beach includes a pool, a dock and palapa, and free use of our kayaks and bikes.

Located on the middle of the emerging Placencia Peninsula, Maya Beach is an eclectic community of Belizeans, expatriates, small hotels and a few businesses. Our inn hosts travelers who enjoy a comfortable setting and creative food, while taking interesting tours or visiting the local villages of Placencia and Seine Bight for a cultural experience. We have five rooms decorated with locally made furniture and art, and our accommodations offerings can also include a few privately owned beach houses on either side of us. We have a small bar and restaurant that are also open to the public, and locals wander in to share their life stories (it's up to you to decide if they're true).

    relaxing vacation

    March 16, 2010

The people at Maya Beach ensured I had everything I needed for a perfect stay. They asked me ahead of time what my interests were and booked my diving trip and arranged transporrtation for me. One of my only regrets was that I could not eat more in one day to try everything on their bistro menu - it was delicious!

    Wonderful Holiday Experience

    December 15, 2009

My stay at The Maya Beach Hotel was truly pleasant and hastle free! What a lovely spot from which to experience the treasures of Belize! My room was very comfortable - loved the customized air conditioning. The housekeeping staff was outstanding - room was kept spotless! The location is exceptional for a relaxing Carribbean experience. Excellent beach for swimming, watching interesting variety of sea life from dock and long beach walks. Sun rise is spectacular and it was easy to lull away early morning hours with coffee at the end of the dock. It was fun to walk or bike to the nearby local market or Jenny's gift shop. It was even possible to hike down the beach for a breakfast at another resort although I wasn't tempted to do this often because there was a reason that the Maya Beach Bistro is so popular with the locals - John's culnary creations are amazing - my favourite - the coconut shrimp made with coconut from his own palm trees! The bar staff is fun and offer all the local specialties plus some interesting in-house specialties. I love wine and there is no doubt in my mind that the wine selection here is the most extensive in Belize - a pleasant surprize for a small resort. Ellen is excellent at wine paring and it's worthwhile discusing the wine options with her before ordering. Ellen is also knowledgeable about the many kinds of excursions available and very efficient in organizing the perfect day trip with pick up and drop-off right at the hotel. My snorkelling trip to the Silk Cays was absolutely amazing! It is also easy to catch a local bus and exlore Placentia for a day. I would highly recommend this resort for comfortable accommodations, helpful and approachable staff, geat beach and pool and outstanding resaurant!
