The Old Doctor`s House is a lovingly restored Franconian property originally built in 1792 which has served as a residence and doctor`s office for four generations of medical doctors. Until 1996 patients came here for medical advice and help. Your hosts today are Dr. Wolfram Braun and wife Dodo and their daughter Ruth with American husband Randall. Experience the cosiness of this historic house with lots of charm and comfort. Feel at home in spacious, quiet guestrooms which are furnished with antiques and lots of love for detail. The family run house is an ideal starting point for discovering Franconia, one of the oldest cultural areas in Germany, located in Northern Bavaria. Famous sights such as the Romantic Road with Rothenburg ob der Tauber and other famous towns, Bamberg and Wuerzburg can be reached by car within an hour. There also is a convenient train connection every hour in both directions, Nuremberg can be reached within 45 minutes, Wuerzburg in about 20 minutes. To get to Munich by train takes two hours. Not only is the setting in this quiet village in beautiful landscape, the stay we had with the doctor and his wife the top experience of our three weeks in Europe. We arrived celebrating a wedding anniversary. Our hosts provided a beautiful bottle of wine and card to greet us. The breakfasts were served in a lovely setting with homemade jellies and jams. The opportunity we had to visit during the evenings over a glass of wine gave us educational opportunities unavailable in a hotel setting. There was nothing disappointing about this visit except is was not long enough. These gentle folks will long remain in our memories as the best of the best!

We stayed with Dr. Braun, Dodo, Ruth, Randall and Zadie again in Dec 2012. We enjoyed our stay as always, actually it was like visiting relatives. We were very late in the night getting there and they waited up for us. We were welcomed like old friends, offered tea, and food, it was so nice to see them. Such an enjoyable place to stay with such genuine nice people with good food and spotless rooms.

What a lovely place to stay. Our room was large, bright, comfortable and warm. The hosts could not have been more helpful and considerate. They make you feel a welcomed part of the family. And breakfast...what a meal with homemade goodies. We even had a special tour of the area with Randall, a font of information. And they speak better English than we. If you want a place that is convenient to historic towns but not in the hubbub, this is your place.

You feel like your staying with family. Every effort is made to make you feel at home. Absolutely wonderful people. We extended our stay and had a great time. My sons and I hope to return in the future.

Not only is the setting in this quiet village in beautiful landscape, the stay we had with the doctor and his wife the top experience of our three weeks in Europe. There was nothing disappointing about this visit except is was not long enough. These gentle folks will long remain in our memories as the best of the best!

What a lovely place to stay. Our room was large, bright, comfortable and warm. The hosts could not have been more helpful and considerate. They make you feel a welcomed part of the family. If you want a place that is convenient to historic towns but not in the hubbub, this is your place.

My fiance and I enjoyed three nights at this lovely B&B in Markt Einersheim. We opted for the lower priced room, but still had plenty of space (a huge bedroom and a nice-sized sitting room). The bathroom area is shared, but it is just outside the sitting room area and fortunately for us, two of the three days no one else was in the house, so it was all ours. The charm of a home with so much history made our stay even more special, although it had all of the modern amenities you may want (and the bathroom was very nice and updated). What really makes this place worth it though was the kindness of Dr. Braun, Ruth, and Dodo. They went out of their way for us, offering us our bicycles to get around town and drove us to the train station. They made us feel right at home, and I appreciated all that they did. In fact, it was better than home-- it had beautiful views and a candy on our pillow each night.

We spent 5 days at this lovely place with our daughters. The rooms are spacious, luminous, very nicely decorated (thankfully no IKEA stuff here!). In a common area with another room we had a little fridge and things to make tea, coffee or have a glass of wine, plus lots of info about things to do in the area. We also enjoyed the wonderful garden, on our own and with the owners, who are the nicest people you can find! Always willing to do anything to make your stay the best. They will dissapear discreetly, or enjoy a conversation and share a glass of wine with you - which we did while our daughters played with Ruth´s daughter Zadie and their well-behaved dog Luna. Breakfast is a feast, not only because of the choice of food, but also the details: linen napkins, silver cutlery, china, candles... all set in the owners dining room, by a grand piano and other beautiful pieces of furniture. In summary, this is a place to go!

Ruth and her parents have made a warm welcoming environment for your stay. You are living in a small medieval town surrounded by fresh air, gardens and caring people. Home grown garden vegetables, flowers and jams appear every day at breakfast as well as in your room. Everyone wants to insure that your Germany experience is the best so they do their very best to help you plan your day's adventure so you can accomplish the very most with success! It is really very nice how large and comfortable the rooms are. You truly feel like you are a guest in their home. You won't go wrong making this a northern romantic road stop in a tip to Germany. In Markt Einersheim you find us at Nuernberger Strasse 5 which is the main road running straight through town. Arriving from Frankfurt, Wuerzburg or Kitzingen by car on highway B 8, turn into town at the third turn-off to the right, towards Moenchsondheim and Nenzenheim. Then after about 50 meters turn right again (white sign saying Ortsmitte). You find the Old Doctor´s House after about 200 meters on the left hand side, just before the historic pharmacy. Coming on B 8 from Nuremberg turn left at the same intersection (yellow sign). Please be careful! In Markt Einersheim all streets (even the very small ones) from the right have the right of way! We'd be glad to help with directions.

Take Autobahn A 3 from Frankfurt Airport towards Wuerzburg/Nuremberg, exit after about 1.5 hours at exit no. 72 Kitzingen/Rottendorf/Iphofen. After exiting turn right onto B 8 toward Kitzingen, stay on B 8 all the way throught Kitzingen. On the edge of Kitzingen you get to a traffic circle. Here take the first right turn, stay on B 8. Pass the little town of Mainbernheim with its medieval town wall on the left. At the traffic circle here, take the third exit to Iphofen/B 8. Next you will pass the town of Iphofen and the huge KNAUF factory. Keep going straight on B 8. After another 3 kilometers you get to our little town of Markt Einersheim. Pass it on your right and take the third turn-off to the right (see Directions to Property).

Dodo has a wonderful large garden where she grows many fruits and vegetables. All the jams, jellies and preserves on the breakfast buffet are homemade by her. Gourmets enjoy them on a piece of local cheese. Guests also love the yummy quark, a kind of smooth curd, which can be enjoyed with fruit preserves.
