Crickethead Inn Bed & Breakfast

  • Inn Details

Located in a beautiful desert settign outside Tuscon Arizona abundant with wildlife. No matter how we shape our shelters, we are subject to and shaped by the natural forces around us. The incredible magnificence of the Sonoran Desert is my birthplace, and I have had the great fortune to live here all of my life. This spot next to the Sahuaro National Park, just west of the Tucson Mountains, is so dramatic, so humbling, so wondrous and enduring. Its moods are all beautiful and lead our souls on to the next day, hour, or moment. High rainbows, low rainbows, or a storm with a rainbow on each side are all possible here.

mike and wayan are gracious and talented hosts who take genuine interest and stock in the activities and entertainment of their guests. the food was always wonderful, and "stuck to our ribs" throughout the day. there are veggie options, and good ones, because wayan doesn't eat meat. the rooms are incredible and the whole inn has an indonesian theme, which makes for a relaxed and happy stay. the inn overlooks one of the largest saguaro cactus forests in the sonoran desert, and the view is to die for. at sunset, the ridge of shale mountains turns bright orange and red, and the moon rises almost simultaneously. mike and wayan's hiking trail and restaurant suggestions were all wonderful, and their stories of life in the desert make for a lovely evening. it is common to see huge amounts of wildlife right off the back patio, including hummingbirds, quails, desert pigs (javalinas), sparrows, finches, and even owls. we also heard coyotes at night, far off, but beautiful. WE COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH!
