Enjoy Nature, History, Culture, Recreational Activities
.....or just some peace and quiet.
Built in 1890, the Olney House is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings as one of the finest examples of Western Colonial Revival architecture in the Southwest.
Safford sits at the approximate half-way point of the 100-mile stretch of the Old West Highway and the Olney House is an elegant and imposing home straight from the days of cattle rustling, prospecting, Indian raids, and massive Western expansion.
Whether you come to Southeastern Arizona to experience every recreational amenity the area can offer, hike the scenic trails, find magnificent birding and wildlife viewing, or just want to relax and get away from the “hubbub” of modern life. Sheriff Olney's historic home helps our guests experience the Old West in gentile fashion.
We, Chris and Deborah Gibbs, noted the distinct architecture and natural dominance of this beautiful home while visiting family in Safford. We bought the Olney House in 2003 following both of our retirements from the United States Air Force. The Olney House now serves as one of the most distinctive Bed and Breakfast accommodations in scenic Graham County and offered a unique setting for our lifelong collection of antiques.
