Good location for Devil's Den which is a very nice state park for photography and hiking. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and we met and dined with some very nice folks. They also offer carry out pizza on Friday and Saturday nights which was outstanding. It's a good thing too as the dining opportunities in Winslow are few and far between!

I was returning to my home near Austin, Texas after a near 4-week 5,000 mile sojourn and was feeling very road weary as I was realizing I had bypassed a major interstate and chosen instead a winding 2 lane highway in the Boston Mountains of Arkansas. After an hour I was realizing the small towns along the way had no small motels. I was tired and with the sun beginning to set was feeling a lot uneasy. About 5:30 pm I saw a lighted 'Open' sign and a few cabins. To me a 'cabin' sign usually means a family type situation, not a one-room for a one-person to stay one-night. I stopped anyway and discovered a lovely owner offering me a wonderful cabin for one, learned of a full breakfast, and the best thing at the time, a pizza she would make. The cabins are 30s oldish, but the porch with swing and beautiful overlook facing west, the sound of falling acorns, and the journal for leaving travelogues provided me with a wonderful evening. Breakfast in the morning proved a delight. The owners ate with me (the only guest taking advantage of breakfast) and I spent an hour longer lingering with them than I had planned. It was intriguing to share our love of the Spanish language and also to share knowledge about the kindermusik program from which I recently retired. I also received a first-class set of directions to get me to Nacodoches, Texas which held me in very good stead. I promised to write a review and so here it is. Please make an effort to stop and enjoy the lovely hospitality of these two very friendly folks, to enjoy the very fine breakfast with homemade apple butter, and to sit a spell.

This was a wonderful place to escape to. We were evacuated due to a hurricaine. I was not sure what to expect, this was our first trip and it was wonderful. The atmosphere and food were exceptional. The owners were very sweet & considerate.. Will go back for years to come!

Glenn and Janice are wonderful hosts! The country breakfast served up every morning is a feast for the eyes! They are ready with helpful facts and are armed with brochures and maps to get you to local attractions! Breakfast was more like a gathering with your family and friends rather than one with strangers. Highly recommend for a cozy, warm, family vacation! Laurie C.

My husband and I along with our dog spent four lovely nights at the Sky-Vue Lodge. The innkeepers' guidance was exceptional when asked about the area hiking, swimming and shopping. We looked forward to breakfast because it was something different every day and always excellent. The views from the balconies are gorgeous and the rooms were a perfect size. A refrigerator, microwave and grill (some rooms have full kitchens) were all we needed. There are a couple of small grocery stores about 15 minutes away, but if anyone wants a sit-down restaurant nearby, you are out of luck. None were opened when we were there for dinner except a pizza shop. The trade-off is the exceptional beauty and the peace and quiet. The sheets and towels were clean and new towels were provided daily. However, the room could have used a good dusting. Especially when an envelope was left in our room for tipping, I would expect a dusted room and beds made every day. However, that is a minor gripe compared to our overall wonderful experience. My husband and I hope to return one day. Allison Long & David Twiddy
