Bed and Bagels Bed and Bagels in Tucson really suited my family. We love the natural beauty of the desert and mountains that surround Tucson yet we like to stay near the city for all of its conveniences. Bed and Bagels offered both. It also welcomes well-behaved dogs which is a must for us since our family includes two large dogs. It is just outside Tucson. The setting is spectacular. The Catalina Mountains are just to the north and the Rincon Mountains just to the east. Everytime I walked out the door I was awed again by the beauty. We liked being able to take long country walks from the house. Yet it was only a short drive to Tucson and shopping. We felt at home. Our bedroom was cozy. The bath was just across the hall. There was a family room where we hung out a lot. We enjoyed its rustic dining area, tv, wi-fi, and two wonderful resident dogs. (We fell in love with both of them and wanted to bring them home with us.) There was also a more formal dog-free living and dining room available to guests. This would work well for guests without dogs. Walls of books and artwork made these rooms interesting. The patio and pool area were pleasant. Having free laundry facilities on site was a real plus. There was a separate fenced area where we could leave our dogs when we went out to sight-see. (We found out that in Arizona, dogs cannot ever be left alone in cars.) We hear the breakfasts are great, but we chose the less expensive option of preparing our own meals because we stayed several weeks. We had free use of the kitchen and a small refrigerator. Bed and Bagels really worked well for all of us. It can really be difficult to find B & Bs that welcome dogs.
