This casually elegant family- and pet friendly bed and breakfast is located on Tucson's scenic east side. Its mission is to make every guest feel pampered, yet at home. Breakfast is full of surprises, reflecting your host's delight in international cuisine and baking. Grounds feature natural desert landscape, pool (with 6 foot child safety fence),jacuzzi, two patios, over-sized hammock, land and water loungers, front courtyard with rock waterfall, a bird feeder and viewing area, and fenced yard for dogs. Interior: Saltillo tile floors, Chinese and Indian rugs,international art collection,and furniture an eclectic mixture of antique, modern, and handcrafted pieces. Extensive collection of books and games. Hot and cold beverages and snacks always available. Bet on a welcoming hot fudge sundae and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Retreat with a good book to the quiet TV-free pet-free living room with view of the Catalina mountains, hummingbirds, gambel's quail and other southwest birds and critters, or kibbitz with your host while she prepares breakfast and visit with other visitors and resident or guest pets in the family room adjacent to the kitchen. Feel like cooking up a favorite dish? The kitchen is all yours. Borrow bicycles and explore the neighborhood of widely spaced homes, horse farms and hike/bike trails. Bed and Bagels is on Tucson’s scenic east side, near the intersection of Tanque Verde and Houghton Roads. Address is 10402 E. Glenn St.It is about 12 miles from the University of Arizona, 15 miles from I-10 West (Speedway exit), 10 miles from I-10-East (Exit 275) and about 19 miles from the airport.
Directions from I-10 coming from the West: Exit at Speedway and drive east to Houghton Road, which is 10200 East. You can gauge your progress by watching numbers on street signs at the east-west cross streets. Houghton is the first light after Harrison. Turn left on Houghton. After next light, which is Tanque Verde, count four streets on your right, then turn right onto Glenn. House is the 4th on the right: 10402. It has three lighted arched windows and a mailbox sitting on a concrete sahuaro cactus!
From I-10 coming from the East: Take Exit 275 (Houghton Road) north - away from the fairgrounds - and travel about 10 miles to light at Tanque Verde. (You’ll pass Valencia, Golf Links, Broadway, and Speedway en-route. ) After Tanque Verde, turn right at the 4th street on the right: Glenn. House is the 4th on the right: 10402. It has three lighted arched windows and a mailbox sitting on a concrete saguaro cactus. - Nearest major airport: Tucson, AZ (TUS) 19 miles
