The most amazing fact is that August in SE Arizona is both green, due to the monsoon season, and very pleasant (60-high 80's). For birders, it's a paradise, and the Casa San Pedro has many species on site. The banding of hummingbirds is exciting to witness. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

Casa de San Pedro is an intimate and friendly oasis for lovers of B&Bs. Large rooms arranged around a courtyard provide privacy while also allowing access to wonderfully comfortable communal spaces including a sheltered courtyard, poolside deck, TV room, and of course, the dining room. Ahhh, the dining room, site of breakfasts so decadently gourmet that you'll lose all desire to move on to your day's activities. But you will, because Karl and Patrick (the innkeepers) will give you all the tips you need to explore the area, from the nearby San Pedro Riparian area to the short drives to Bisbee and Ramsey Canyon Preserve. Then you'll want to make it back in time to enjoy one of the variety of house-made pies available to guests all day, along with coffee & tea! We stayed 3 nights, and Karl and Patrick even provided a bottle of my mother's favorite Riesling in honor of her birthday. We will definitely be back!

I love the Casa de San Pedro and have been staying there since it opened! It is a bit of luxury in the middle of the wilderness, with outstanding hospitality! Karl and Patrick always make me feel so welcome! The breakfasts are excellent, especially the Dutch baby pancakes. I am always so thrilled to visit this beautiful and welcoming b & b. As a special bonus, there is a bat house outside, where (when in season), you can watch the bats descend and fly away for the evening! Also love watching all the birds at the bird feeders!

Fantastic place for our family reunion. A three-day weekend with 23 family members that could not have been more pleasant. Everything from the rooms to the pool to the breakfast was superb.

Casa de San Pedro was the perfect stop for us on our Southeast Arizona Birding trip. We arrived and immediately felt welcome. Karl and Patrick have created an oasis that is hard to beat. Our room was nicely furnished and very quiet and comfortable. When we wanted to watch the birds or just relax, we had either the table and chairs right outside our room or the large patio/gazebo to sit in. The breakfasts were extraordinarily delicious and a great way to start the day. After hiking or birding, we could return to the casa for freshly baked pies or cookies...YUM! We took an amazing bird walk with SABO and also had the chance to observe and help with banding of hummingbirds. Thank you, Karl and Patrick for creating the perfect place for birders or anyone who wants beautiful surroundings, an opportunity to connect with nature, and the chance to meet other like minded people. We will be back!

This was our first stay, 3 nights in May 2014 and was even better than expected. My one issue was the relatively low shower head (I am very tall) and I jokingly offered to hit Home Depot and remodel it. The same day, their handyman put on a new head, making the shower perfect for our 2nd and 3rd days -- amazing. The window opens onto the inside patio which is very quiet -- important because we strongly prefer open windows over AC. We loved sitting on the patio and in back looking at the birds. It's surrounded by nature and the river is a short walk away. We definitely plan to return again.

Want to get away, really away? BUT enjoy all the amenities of a first class B&B then you should place the Casa San Pedro on your wish list. We visited the Inn in early April and along with great birding we enjoyed a Breakfast to die for ( every Day) and views that did not disappoint. The solitude was an added bonus as you are located in a very under populated area adjacent to the San Pedro River. Side tours for birders were very easy to arrange and out hosts Karl and Patrick were ever present to answer questions or offer suggestions for a very enjoyable stay. Definitely worth the drive from either Tucson or other locations.

We have lived in AZ for 21 years, but have never been this far south. Our daughter gave us two nights at Casa de San Pedro B&B. We are so glad she did. We went birding with the SABO group our first morning there. It was throughly enjoyable, even though our idea of birding was, there's a bird, there is another bird. Casa de San Pedro is a wonderful B&B. It is quiet and relaxing. Our hosts, Karl, Patrick, and their delightful dogs Cody and Shadow made our stay memorable. Leave your diet at home, the breakfasts and pies are worth the few extra calories.

This is a great place to stay. Karl and Patrick are wonderful people and we love the dogs too. This was our third visit and we are never disappointed. The food, birds, guests, accommodations are all great. Even if you don't bird, go there and just relax. We will definitely stay there again.

We were very pleased with our stay at Casa De San Pedro. Innkeepers Karl and Patrick are very welcoming and helpful. They set a relaxing and friendly tone to the inn, One can be as social or as private as one wishes to be here. The breakfasts are excellent and individual dietary needs are accommodated, when needed as in my case of avoiding milk and milk products.

On a recent birding trip, our group spent the first four nights in this lovely Inn. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfasts are delightful. An added treat was the availability of two special dinners in the Casa. The river walk with SABO was terrific. I would recommend this Inn to everyone. The owners are calm, friendly, helpful and provide (with two calm big dogs) a feeling of contentment!

We made a second visit to the Casa this week and found it to be the same charming, comfortable and well maintained place as before. Karl and Patrick are wonderful hosts who serve delicious breakfasts each morning and bake pies daily for their guests. Welcoming public spaces where you can enjoy talking with other guests or just chilling out and very comfortable rooms. We enjoyed a fabulous bird walk along the San Pedro River and also birded in Ramsey Canyon and other local hot spots. A great location for touring the Sierra Vista/Bisbee/Tombstone area. Highly recommended.

We spent 3 nights in Room #3 and it was lovely. Our 2nd visit, and it had been way too long since our first. Had an all day birding tour with Bob Behrstock (recommended by the Casa), who was FABULOUS! It is such a peaceful, classy place to stay. Coming back from birding or sightseeing in Tombstone or Bisbee or elsewhere to homemade pies (we had 4 or 5 varieties to choose from) was such a treat. Breakfasts were also always special, as we watched the quail and woodpeckers and sparrows and thrasher right outside the window. So comfortable, and everyone is happy and calm..LOVE IT!!

We first stayed at Casa de San Pedro in 2002 and this was a long-delayed return trip. It's still a peaceful, homey place to stay with wonderful attention to detail. We loved the rooms, breakfasts and peaceful atmosphere. Also really liked the daily pie offerings. Two thumbs up.

We were so pleased when we pulled into the driveway and saw the peaceful and serene location of Casa de San Pedro. My brother and mother are visiting from Western New York and we were looking for a place to stay in Southern Arizona. We were so pleased with our selection. The rooms are delightful with both king and two bed rooms available. The rooms are very clean and roomy with many amenities including dual control electric blankets. There is a delightful courtyard with a fountain and tables and chairs for each room. They have many great places to hike including a two-mile loop right outside their gate. There are so many beautiful birds with chairs and benches to sit and view all around the property. The have coffee, tee, water and fresh pies available all day. The breakfast each morning is delicious and full of many treats. Patrick and Karl are the hosts who are very helpful, great cooks and hosts. We did not get to meet Karl since he was out of town, however really enjoyed Patrick and all his help. They also have two great dogs, Shadow and Cody. They have barbeques, dishes and utensils available if you would like to cook on property. They have great wireless, a guest computer and many great games for your use. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the summer months to enjoy the pool, spa and more of this beautiful place.

It was our 34th Anniversary and I wanted to surprise my wife with a getaway out of town. Surprised she was, when we found Casa de Sand Pedro B & B in a quiet and secluded area beside the San Pedro river. We arrived late and on this cool night we found the room all heated up and ready for our stay. What a joy. The morning breakfast was superb in the large breakfast room. All guests were seated at the large tables and we quickly made friends with others who were staying there. We made friends with visitors from as far away as Maine, Minnesota, and Wyoming. Pies, cookies, coffee, tea were always available for guests in the dining area at all times of the day and night. TV, games, computer, and binoculars for bird watching were found in the large open guest room for all to enjoy. Our room was neat and clean and very roomy. We were surprised to find our room had been cleaned and the bed made when we returned from breakfast. The inner area with large fountain was very cozy and enjoyable. We want to say a big "Thank You" to Karl and Patrick for being our hosts on our special weekend. We are glad we spent a quite restful time at Casa de San Pedro.

I stayed out the Casa de San Pedro B&B the end of February, and I was extremely pleased with the property, the breakfast, the service, and the room. It was a beautiful place to escape the harsh East Coast winter for a few days. Also the location is wonderful for visiting Bisbee and for birdwatching. I look forward to staying there again!
4.6 on February 17, 2014
We were looking for a relaxing place to stay near Bisbee, AZ and Casa San Pedro was exceptional and the highlight of our trip to southern Arizona. The Karl and Patrick are gracious owners and wonderful cooks and the house is elegant and well organized and a very well equipped B & B. They allowed us to have our Doberman (Phoebe) stay with them and she got along well with Cody and Shadow and we even did a little birding and had great information about where to go during the day and for evening dinners. The breakfasts were exceptional and we plan to come back again very soon. The location is close to Sierra Vista and Bisbee and is quiet and incredibly relaxing.

This is our second visit to Casa de San Pedro B&B. It has a friendly atmosphere, but you can still have your privacy. Breakfasts are delicious and there is pie and cookies every night. Yum! Add to this very comfortable beds, nice rooms and a unique location for those who enjoy birding or not.

It's hard to find words to express just how wonderful this place is. This was our 4th visit, and, as always, Karl and Patrick were perfect hosts. Every little detail about the place is thoughtful and beautiful. The breakfasts are sumptuous. And, of course, it's a birders paradise. The only drawback is the lack of any really good restaurants in the immediate vicinity. If only we could persuade Karl and Patrick to open a world-class restaurant on their property.

This was our second visit to the Casa. When we saw the special birding and New Year package, we decided to make the journey from the east coast for the unique outing. This package not only included breakfast, but bag lunch, a hot soup and sandwich lunch and dinners including a New Year's Eve feast with champagne. SABO took us birding and we netted 80 species. We also enjoy our time at the Casa birding the river and environs. Great holiday and wonderful hospitality.
5 on January 03, 2014
We just completed our 3rd visit to the Casa de San Pedro and all's well with the Universe. Karl and Patrick are consummate hosts, and the service level is so top-notch that it hards to put them in the same category as your "standard" B&B. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and inviting; breakfasts are savory and sumptuous; and the always-available pies and coffee/tea service make us drool every time we drive in from a day of sightseeing or wander in from a day of hiking. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to experience an authentic slice of Southeastern Arizona. Birding is a specialty at the Casa, but many visitors (my hubby and I included) are not serious birders, just true nature lovers. Check it out--you will be very happy with your discovery of a haven in the AZ desert.

We love this bed and breakfast! We visit every year as the owners are wonderful and every breakfast is excellent. If you like a filling breakfast and the indulgence of a variety of home-made pies each afternoon, this is the place for you. The beds are extremely comfortable and it is easy to see the love and care taken with the property.

Casa de San Pedro Bed & Breakfast Inn provided us with a fabulous winter escape from the snow. The area surrounding Hereford, AZ and the immediate property of the B&B provided excellent and ample bird watching opportunities. The Casa de San Pedro B&B is within easy (day-trip) driving distance of major southeastern AZ bird watching destinations. Even in December, there were a variety of species to see along with some exotic and unexpected visitors from farther south. The property is charming set in a quiet rural area but within easy reach of much larger Sierra Vista, AZ. The inn is well maintained and appointed, the hospitality is exceptional, the breakfasts are wonderful. Hosts Karl and Patrick are welcoming and accommodating. I hope to visit again in the near future!

A lovely place to stay for the holidays and be pampered. Our hosts had a special Christmas Day Dinner complete with wine. You don't have to be a birder to enjoy the Inn and the surrounding area.
5 on December 27, 2013
We came to the Casa planning to stay for four nights. A week later we were back on the road home. The moment we were greeted by Patrick, saw our room and the common areas, we knew we had to stay longer. For a little bit of heaven this is the place. Quiet, birds, compatible fellow travelers, wonderful food and accommodation, gracious hosts...what can you say that has not been said by many many others. Thank you for a wonder Christmas vacation!

Casa de San Pedro is an excellent B&B along the San Pedro river in a moderately isolated area. The rooms were conformable and the common areas were excellent. Breakfast with the owners was a great experience; good food and good conversation. Access to the San Pedro river was only a few meters away. Highly recommend this B&B for anyone desiring to explore for a few days the San Pedro valley and visit such places as the Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone and Bisbee. Patrick Dome and Karl Schmitt are the owners and operators.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa de San Pedro with our classic car group. We rented all 11 rooms and totally enjoyed the scenic hacienda style. There is a great group area for outside BBQ, indoor dinning, living room with fireplace and big comfy couches. The rooms were sparkling clean and bed comfortable. Lots of quaint lovely touches all around the property with plenty of room to walk and explore down to the river. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The surrounding area has plenty to do and see within easy driving but B & B is off the beaten path with lots of privacy and views. My only regret is that we didn't stay one more day! Thanks for a great stay!

I stayed for four days between selling one house and occupying another. While there, I worked some and played some. Karl and Patrick were attentive to my needs without being obtrusive, the rooms are comfortable and the location is awesome. The courtyard of the inn is peaceful and the surrounding grounds scenic and alive.

We have been going here for a few years now for our annual anniversary getaway (we live about 15 miles). Karl and Patrick are fantastic hosts. The room all face a fountain with hummingbirds, other birds and many plants. A real relaxing place for a getaway. I highly recommend it.

The Casa de San Pedro is an excellent example of how establishments should be run. The hosts, Karl and Patrick are extremely attentive to their guests without being intrusive. The Inn's location is flush with birds, butterflies and wildflowers and it is centrally located to nearby National/State Parks offering a multitude of outdoor nature activities. The breakfast meals served at the Inn are truly gourmet, special requests are encouraged and their homemade pies are available all day and evening long. You are truly made to feel as if the Casa de San Pedro is your personal vacation home. I highly recommend, I know we are already planning for a return trip.

Karl and Patrick's sharing their very sweet puppies with the guests made us especially comfortable. . . . thanks for a great time.

This is a gorgeous property in a private setting on the edge of a riparian oasis in the desert. The rooms are great and there is a fabulous pool. The food is terrific and the delightful owners go out of their way to accommodate you. For birding or exploring SE AZ there is no better place to stay. We are going back. Steve Hanks, Taos

We visited this property last year when we were in the area and decided we definitely had to stay here the next time we came to Arizona, and last week we kept our promise. We were so pleased with the accommodations, the hospitality, the beautiful gardens, and the wonderful food that we are already looking forward to staying here again sometime. Simply put, we loved it and really appreciate the effort that the owners put into making our stay a memorable one.

At the Casa de San Pedro there is everything one might desire in a bed and breakfast inn. The food is healthful and delicious. The rooms are clean, spacious, and quiet. The shared quarters are beautiful and comfortable. The owners, Karl and Patrick, are pleasant, intelligent, and respectful. Reed and Marlene

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. The location is striking and the house and gardens well designed and well maintained. The river and to bird watching are immediately accessible. Two small items for Karl and Patrick's consideration--perhaps replace the bedspreads with washable duvet covers.and consider breakfasts that are not so carbohydrate-heavy.

This is a lovely inn in Southern AZ...we are not birders, but clearly this is "the" spot if you are interested in birding. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was very nice and Patrick was a charming host. Nearby Bisbee is a cool town and people were very friendly.

Everything about Casa de San Pedro is top-notch: room decor and furnishings, inner courtyard garden, sitting area, living room, pool, access to nature, serene quiet, breakfast, round-the-clock pies, and I'm not even accounting for the birds! I'm not a birder myself, but I can imagine how much better I'd appreciate Casa de San Pedro if I were! It was less like lodging and more like taking a retreat. Recommend it heartily!

On a three-week tour of the Southwest I enjoyed a four-day visit to the Casa de San Pedro B&B a few days ago. Of the half dozen lodgings I stayed at, the Casa was by far the best in every way. Patrick and Karl really made me feel at home. In fact, years ago as a younger self I lived in urban communes, and the Casa was what I was seeking in vain all that time. I loved having the run of the great room at any hour, making it feel like my own living room (and one that I didn't have to take care of). Whether you are a birder or another species of naturalist or just someone who wants to get away from the rush of city life, the Casa is an oasis right at the San Pedro River.
5 on May 23, 2013
Every bit was wonderful. Pecan, mixed berry and rhubarb/strawberry pies, gorgeous appointments everywhere your eyes alight, stunning setting, kind attentive nonintrusive hosts with a sense of humor. Can't wait to return. Thank you, Karl and Patrick for this oasis.

A friend and I just returned from our stay at Casa de San Pedro. My husband and I discovered the Casa several years ago and have returned at least once a year ever since. We are not birders but enjoy the scenery and the peace of the Casa nonetheless. As several reviewers have already stated, Karl and Patrick are outstanding hosts, the Casa is clean and quiet and, with the solar, "green". The food is amazing. I have taken several friends to the Casa and all have found the place to be the gem that it is.

My spouse and I love to hike in the Chiricahua National Monument in southern AZ. The Casa de San Pedro offers and excellent atmosphere to relax and recharge between hikes. The natural surroundings and ideal proximity to Bisbee ,Sierra Vista, the Chiricahua National Monument, the Huachuca Mountain Preserve and the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area create endless opportunity for exploration. And, the temperatures, especially during the spring and summer are much cooler than Phoenix.

This is probably the best Arizona Birding B&B we have stayed in. The room was excellent, the breakfasts were the type you dream about, and the ability to Bird on the premises was an added luxury.
5 on May 08, 2013
We stayed at this b&b from April 28 through April 30th. This is our 2nd stay at this establishment. First, there is more to a b&b than just a clean room and "ok" food. Karl and Patrick, the owners, are wonderful. They welcomed us with a smile and it seemed like we had just met up with long time friends. Their food isn't just 2 eggs, toast and juice. We love their food. Karl and Patrick make wonderful breakfast dishes such as Swedish Pancakes with fruit. Everything is freshly made including some wonderful homemade pies, muffins and other pastries. The rooms are spacious, clean and make you feel like you're visiting a friend's home not a b&b. We love to bird so this place is a natural for us. Large windows surround the common areas and are kept clean so you can take photos through the windows of your favorite birds at the feeders they have all around the property. Karl and Patrick are really willing to work with you. They will make you early morning breakfast so you can join birding walks at 0630 or long day trips to the surrounding areas for birding or whatever activity you desire. This B&B is designed for birders but don't let this stop you if you just want to relax. Anyone can stay at this relaxing and wonderful place because relaxing can be just using their hammock, sitting on the chairs just outside your room or walking the grounds. We plan on returning to this wonderful place. It's worth every penny you spend on the stay.

Casa de San Pedro is a true find and a great value located on the San Pedro River in Southeastern Arizona. While our focus was birdwatching, the guest rooms, dining area, and common area with an extensive library were of highest quality, spotless, and relaxing. The environment was quiet and the grounds provided great opportunity for short walks and general relaxation. Karl and Patrick served incredible breakfasts every day and there is a refrigerator and other facilities for guest use as well as freshly baked pies, cookies, coffee, and tea. We had a great bird guide for our birdwalk who was also well versed in the history and ecology of the area. She presented a program one evening which included actual banding of hummingbirds and this was a great expreience. Casa de San Pedro is conveniently located to many areas great for hiking as well as birding just a short drive away. There are a number of good restaurants in Hereford which is about 7 miles distant as well as in Sierra Vista and Bisbee, both of which are a bit further. We would recommend Casa de San Pedro Bed and Breakfast without reservation whether your interest is birding, hiking, or just relaxing. Doug and Cheri Johnstone, Martinsville, IN

The Casa de San Pedro B&B, and it's attentive owners, make for a great experience. We were there only for a 2-night getaway, but by the end wished we'd had a few more days. The location, rooms and breakfast fare are all superb. The setting next to the Rio San Pedro is great whether for on-site bird-watching, walks along the trail that begins from their back door, or day-hikes to nearby canyons.

The location of the Casa de San Pedro with the ever changing seasonal landscape of the San Pedro River makes for the perfect get-away from our busy lives. If you need a place to get away from the daily routine or you just enjoy visiting another place where the wildlife is abundant, the hiking is an exploration, or serenity is needed, then I highly recommend the Casa de San Pedro Bed and Breakfast. With great hosts and a fantastic breakfast we are looking forward to our third visit in the near future.

We came for the birds and the Casa is everything a B & B should be: Unique setting, large comfortable rooms, ( complete with reading material), the comforts of home (access to laundry, refrigerator, picnic supplies, WiFi , homemade pie any time of day, big lovable gentle dogs), knowledgable friendly hosts who remain out of sight until the instant you need them, a quiet setting away from traffic, but close to all the best that southeast Arizona is famous for. Patrick and Carl helped us with dinner suggestions and reservations, locations and routes, and arrangements to have a professional bird guide at our service for 2 full days (definitely the BEST PART of our trip). The Casa certainly exceeded our expectations. We can only imagine how it must be even better later in the season when flowers are blooming, hummingbirds are back and Carl and Patrick are putting on their renowned cooking presentations and dinners. And did we mention the superlative breakfast experience surrounded by windows looking out on the bird feeders? Many good reasons to return.

Casa de San Pedro is our favourite B&B. Karl and Patrick have Inn keeping down to an art. We love the peace and quiet, no TV's in the rooms is a blessing. Our visit last week was our first in the winter, but the birds kept us entertained. Breakfast served family style in the beautiful dining room is always delicious and filling. They are very accommodating for those with food allergies. We would recommend Casa de San Pedro to anyone wanting a beautiful setting, gracious hosts, good food and quiet nights.

We spent 2 nights with Partick (Karl was out of town) - Jan 10th and 11th of this year and even though it was cold had a most wonderful time. The attention to detail is spectacular, the breakfast was delicious and kept you going until "pie" time. Our only regret was that it was too cold to use the beautiful lap pool and hot tub. The area around the inn is beautiful and provides trails for hiking. Since it is BLM land, you have no neighbors and the peace of the inn is wonderful. We look forward to a second visit during warmer times.
5 on January 19, 2013
From trip planning to assisting with departure, this inn experience was superb. The Patrick and Karl are helpful, gracious, informative and relaxed. We had a restful visit, excellent meals and great advice for dining options elsewhere. They arranged a birding guide, Wezil Walraven, whom we would use again in a second on returning. The location is perfect for exploring birding areas nearby. Can't recommend more highly.

We just spent two nites at Casa San Pedro (Jan). Karl and Patrick were the perfect hosts: warm and welcoming, helpful, engaging to talk to and full of great ideas for winter-birding and eating (my favorite activity). The attention to detail in the design of this delightful place (everything from the heat in shower, huge library of books, mags, etc. to the patio) made staying here a real pleasure. Not to mention the nearness to the wintering sandhill cranes, the variety of birds even on premises in a winter cold spell, and the fabulous breakfasts. We would return in a nanosecond--and look forward to a visit during migration season. Strongly recommend this--especially for those who are at all ambivalent about BandBs. I always love the interaction--my husband is more self-contained and not sure he wants to meet others. Patrick and Karl, however, have the right balance between friendliness and respecting privacy, so even he was happy.

Very clean room with comfortable bed, this coming from a picky person. The pies in the afternoon are a real treat and the breakfasts are top notch. Best pecan pie and buttermilk oatmeal pancakes ever!!!!!!!! I will be back very soon.

My sister and Mom went with me for our first visit on 11/30/12 through 12/02/12. This was the " low season" but we especially enjoyed the peace and quiet it brought. My sister was given a free room! We enjoyed the hot tub all by ourselves. We celebrated our Mother's 86th birthday with a free cake! Karl and Patrick were away on their own vacation so we enjoyed the company of relatives Randy and Wiser who were filling in for them. Thank you so much for our exceptional stay and we will be coming back with our husbands. Tucson Gals.

Based on a tip from my father, who's friends and neighbors with Karl and Patrick, my fiancee and I held our (small) wedding at CdSP this past October. K&P (and their staff) were as welcoming, accommodating, flexible, and on top of things as anybody could expect. The inn and the location are gorgeous and relaxing, and our guests (we occupied the whole inn and had add'l guests staying in other places nearby) gushed about, well, everything. Suffice it to say, we have lovely memories and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

This quiet inn was located in an amazing wildlife area and featured an inner courtyard with a fountain and a lobby filled with books and entertainment. We woke to a delicious breakfast and great company. We'll be back.

What an incredible find in the middle of nowhere. This B&B is very unique, small and quiet. Very clean and comfortable as well. It's worth the trip just to enjoy the breakfast and afternoon pie. Combines a natural setting with an elegant flair. Do not miss this place, you will not be sorry.

Wonderful hospitality from Karl and Patrick at this great B&B on the San Pedro River. Feeders attract many birds and the San Pedro River is just a short distance away. Also close to many attractions...Bisbee, Ramsey Canyon, Chirachua Mts. & more. Lovely courtyard, comfortable public spaces, and tasty pies...what more could one want?

A lovely getaway B&B. Gracious & accomodating hosts, clean and modern facilities, peaceful w/ good mountain views and hiking trails by the San Pedro River. Easy access to Sierra Vista, Bisbee and Turquoise Valley Golf course.

I really enjoyed my stay at Casa de San Pedro B&B. Karl and Patrick do a wonderful job. The B&B is in a beautiful location on the San Pedro River with great mountain views. It is also a short drive to Bisbee, a old mining town turned into a funky, artist colony.

Had a wonderful 4 days with owners Karl and Patrick. Their breakfasts were delicious and the '4 o'clock fresh pie' was such a Treat! They went out of their way to be sure we all had everything we needed. We plan to come again! Sylvia, Den and Marion

We have made multiple trips to the Casa for 5 years now. Karl and Patrick have created a beautiful, comfortable and serene sanctuary for people and birds. There's only one problem - you'll be totally spoiled for most other B&B's! Margaret & Jack Robbins Danbury, CT

I have never stayed at a B&B nor a hotel where the owners/staff were so personable and easygoing. I feel like I am staying with family (the friendly side of the family). I have stayed at the Casa de San Pedro during busy times when all rooms were filled as well as during the off-season when I was the only guest. At both times, I was treated like I was a special guest. The homemade food is scruptious and the facilities are clean and well-kept. I plan to return soon.

My wife and I live in Tucson and decided to take a couple of days off and attend the wine pairing dinner. What a surprise! Karl and Patrick are just the best; gracious, informative and friendly. Patrick's pecan pie and breakfasts can't be beat. Rooms were spacious and clean. Easy choice my friends. Dave & Sharon

Stayed here five nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The rooms are large and comfortable, the outside areas are beautifully landscaped and full of wildlife, and the breakfasts are to die for. The property's nearness to the San Pedro River is a bonus, as it provides an amazing place to take a morning walk. Karl and Patrick are terrific hosts and provide a wealth of information on the surrounding area. We will certainly be back as soon as possible!
5 on July 21, 2012
We enjoyed the quiet, well-run atmosphere, with thoughtful attention given to every detail: good bedside reading lamps; many inviting places to sit, inside and out; trails to explore; a pool that you can really swim laps in; free washers and driers and a guest fridge; a library; free wi-fi that really works...This place has it all. Sometimes birders have to choose between physical comforts and proximity to great habitat, but not at Casa de San Pedro! The owners were easy-going and friendly, knowledgeable about the area and available to answer questions, but not intrusive. Oh, and did I mention the 24/7 sideboard of homemade pie?
5 on July 11, 2012
We spent 4 nights/3.5 days at Casa de San Pedro (7-4-12 to 7-8-12) and we enjoyed every bite and every minute of our stay. It's not just that Patrick and Karl are the best in the business (and we say that sincerely), they are also very knowledgeable about the local flora, fauna, birding spots, guides, and well -- you name it. We were there to bird, and bird we did! Their property and the adjacent San Pedro river are excellent birding areas. The B&B is also a great home-base for venturing out into the nearby (15 min. to 2 hours) canyons and preserves which are among the premier birding locations in the country. We typically bird the Texas Gulf Coast and can see hundreds of species of birds per year. In the 3 days we birded out of the Cas de San Pedro, we added 45 life birds to our list - including a once-in-a-lifetime adult and chick Spotted owl (Mexican var. and thanks to Sheri Williamson from the SABO)! We will be back - guaranteed! Very pleased TX Gulf Coast Birders.

A welcome oasis in SE Arizona, Karl and Patrick make their guests feel like family. Every amenity is provided, the grounds and rooms are 5 star. No reason to stay anywhere else. This was my second visit and I hope to make many more. Deidre Asbjorn

Ok, there ARE so many different species of birds at the many feeders and by the river, that it is a birder's paradise, but there are also welcoming, beautifully decorated rooms, beautiful flowers in the courtyard, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable hosts, incredible breakfasts, great coffee (for me) and tea (for my husband) and Patrick's PIE! Have I mentioned the Mexican dishes; best Mexican food I've had in years. We've stayed twice and will be back. It is so serene and peaceful and close to great hiking and birding areas. Back to the PIE........

We stayed here for the second time in May 2012. It was just as delightful an experience as our first stay in August of 2011. Serene, comfortable, lovely surroundings with marvelous hosts. The included breakfasts are fabulous and the special dinners are wonderful as well. And, of course, we couldn't forget to mention the delicious pies! We can't wait to return!

We had a wonderful time at Casa de San Pedro. It was lovely to be able to get a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of pie any time you wanted. With that and the tasty and filling breakfasts, we only needed one other meal a day. Birds were everywhere. We went on an excellent birding tour along the San Pedro River that started at the Casa. The tour leaders were amazing and were able to share knowledge that was helpful for new (or forgetful) birders as well as birding pros - and it was very reasonably priced too. The common areas were well supplied with books, birding and other, and there was lots of info available about the local restaurants. I could go on and on, but I'll just add that the hosts were warm and friendly, so every base was covered beautifully.

Casa de San Pedro is tucked away beside public lands on the San Pedro River It is a quiet, idyllic and scenic location and is at the heart of a Mecca for birders. A walk along the river before breakfast will almost fill your list for the day. This is a birder-friendly B and B, but you definitely do not have to be a birder to enjoy it. Comfortable, well-equipped rooms are arranged around a delightful courtyard, with a great room and dining room at one end. The food is outstanding with creative and delicious breakfasts, different every morning. Not only that, but fresh pies appear every afternoon - the mixed berry and rhubarb/strawberry are stand-outs. Patrick and Karl are attentive, personable hosts who make you feel right at home, but respect your privacy, should you desire it. We have been coming to the Casa for many years and coming back again feels like being home. There are arrangements with excellent birding guides and there are wonderful restaurants in Bisbee. Free Internet and lots of books are available. Truly a place that reinvents the concept of B and B and always worth the trip from the Washington DC area. (Roger and Susan)

The Casa's website name, bedsandbirds, really captures what owners Karl and Patrick offer: everything to make a birder's experience extraordinary. We needed an early check-in in order to attend a nearby hummingbird banding session; Karl welcomed us and gave a quick orientation to all that's available at this gorgeous b & b. We had a special guided birding date set up for early on a Sunday morning and would miss scheduled breakfast, so we asked if something small could be available. Patrick set places at the breakfast table and supplied a full cold breakfast--and coffee's on 24/7. Rooms are large and thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. The rooms open onto a central courtyard, and tables and chairs outside the doors encourage interaction among all the guest birders. Big windows in the dining area look out on multiple feeders that create a Grand Central Station of bird traffic. Breakfasts for the humans are outstanding; the same can be said about breakfasts for the birds. Patrick patiently fills a very large number of feeders for hummers and seedeaters every day. There are so many birds and so many species on the Casa's grounds that it's hard to drag oneself away for a scheduled outing. And the Casa is right adjacent to the San Pedro River and its walking trail, an outstanding SE Arizona birding destination. Everything about our stay at Casa de San Pedro far exceeded our expectations. Can't wait to return!

I am not a B&B person; however, if Karl and Patrick could school others on this art form, I would be a convert. They balanced being available/accommodating and allowing you your space. Their lovely B&B is one I would return to in a heartbeat. Rooms: We occupied room 9 for three nights. Spacious, clean and well appointed. Loved the large shower. No TV, a huge plus! Common Area: Also spacious and comfortable. Loaded with books and periodicals. Computer with internet access and TV are also available. Food: We had two types of quiche during our stay. Light and delicious. Pie and coffee available all day. Grounds: Easy access to the river, feeders in "backyard" for additional bird watching - FUN. Grill available with table and chairs. Guest Services/Laundry Room: Beverages (fee), laundry facilities and guest fridge are available. It was nice to be able to put together a meal and eat in the courtyard.

We selected Casa de San Pedro because of the birding and the appealing website. It did not disappoint. In fact, we were delighted with every aspect of our four nights at the Casa. First the birding around the b and b is excellent. For someone from Virginia seeing a Vermilion Flycatcher nearly every outing around the property is a thrill. Second, SABO starts its weekly bird hikes at the Casa's feeding station. On that day several of the boarder, needed a pick-me-up before we left and a hearty breakfast upon our return. Karl came through beautifully on both counts. He had a 9:30 feast awaiting us. The rooms are nicely decorated, the courtyard is lovely and the casa section is very comfortable with sofas, a library and the internet. Pie and coffee are available all day long! We also enjoyed a Mexican Dinner prepared by Karl. He is quite a host. We highly recommend Casa de San Pedro and hope someday to return.

I travel a lot for work and for pleasure and Casa de San Pedro is a true gem! The location is absolutely perfect, especially for birding! Good places attract good people and that is certainly the case here...great service, gracious hosts and immaculate facility. I almost never fill out an evaluation unless a stay is exceptionally bad or exceptionally good...Karl and Patrick's Casa gets my highest rating which simply means I will be repeat business at Casa de San Pedro....Mike in VA

You wonder when you'll arrive -- and suddenly you're there. Behind the adobe-style wall is a charming courtyard B&B with attractive rooms, comfortable table and chairs (albeit slightly worn) outside each door for sipping a drink, writing postcards, reading or watching the contortions of multiple varieties of birds. The door opens to charming rooms, either two regulars or kings. A short walk away is a riparian path for more bird sightings. Late afternoon baked treats are quite special with several offerings. Breakfasts are extraordinary. The hosts are charming, helpful and fun, the guests a cross section from around the U.S. and even beyond. This is a delightful quiet getaway which I would highly recommend.

Casa de San Pedro is ideal for birders. The magnificent San Pedro River is literally steps away from the B&B's back door. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts are wonderful. The hosts, Patrick and Karl, are friendly and helpful and will work with you to schedule birding excursions. Casa de San Pedro is one of our favorite places in So. Arizona.

We have traveled all over the world and found the Casa de San Pedro to be an overwhelmingly marvelous place to be. The hospitality of Karl and Patrick, the decor of the rooms and the Inn, the food, the birds, the river, the staff we met...all made our time there a true pleasure. Four days passed much too quickly! Everything good I had heard about Casa de San Pedro was absolutely true, and even better! Don't hesitate to gorge on pies! Birding was a delight, from indoors and out. But perhaps best of all is how Karl and Patrick make you feel welcome and at home! Our stay couldn't have been better

I can't think of one negative thing to say about our four night stay at this delightful Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and homey. The breakfasts are excellent, and the homemade pies in the afternoon are even better. The property is located along a small river with lots of birding opportunities. There are birding field guides and binoculars available to borrow. A gift shop offers field guides, tee-shirts, hats, etc. If you are visiting southeastern Arizona, this is definitely a great place to stay.

Our first time visiting this area but it won't be the last. Karl met us as we entered the courtyard and took us on a tour of the facility. The courtyard was fabulous with a fountain bubbling in the center and chairs and a table outside each room making in comfy to enjoy the sights and sounds. I was all ready in heaven and I hadn't even unpacked. Our room was so clean and very comfortable with all our needs met. Karl and Patrick bent over backwards to be sure we were happy. They are the absolutely perfect hosts. Breakfast each morning was delicious. But the real treat was Patrick's homemade pies each afternoon. So wonderful to come home to!!

Wonderful bed and breakfast experience with just the right balance of privacy and quiet places to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area. Breakfasts were a daily delight and afternoon pies were eagerly anticipated. Hiking/birding in the river area adjacent to the property was just as productive as traveling further afield. Everything was first rate and Karl and Patrick were personable and professional hosts.

Casa de San Pedro is one of the most hospitable, friendly, and relaxing places I have ever stayed. Karl and Patrick are true hosts. This past visit was my 4th! and hopefully I can return again. The Casa de San Pedro is a really wonderful place to stay. This is the 2nd time we have been there, and we are already planning a return trip. Karl and Patrick are super accommodating and very helpful to visitors. They are really knowledgeable about things to do in the area, and where to look for all the great birds in the area. The breakfasts are special and very filling and original. The whole place exudes an aura of relaxation and ease. The grounds are neat and clean. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the outdoors, the birds and the inn.

Two friends and i spent a weekend at this lovely B&B. The hosts are warm and friendly and their two big dogs friendly and well behaved. The room was pleasant, if a bit small for three people. The courtyard is sunny and warm for basking and chatting. The living room (wish there had been a fire going) was great for after dinner conversation. Breakfasts were delicious (loved that filled fluffy pancake!) and the Saturday night cooking class was fun and sociable. We are not birders, but still enjoyed all the birds around the place and the beautiful starry sky at night. We visited Bisbee, Karchner Caverns, and Patagonia, all within easy driving distance. This is a lovely place for a visit to Southern AZ.

For several years I had seen ads for Casa de San Pedro and longed to visit one early spring. This was the year, and our stay there was one of the most enjoyable vacations we have had. Karl and Patrick are exceptional hosts, exceptional cooks. My wife has some dietary restrictions, and our hosts went well out of their way not just to accommodate her needs but to provide innovative, delicious breakfasts for her. And you simply can't beat the setting. You want high country Arizona? This is definitely the place. Truly a gem.

We planned a warm getaway from northern California and found cold and snow! Our hosts made up for the chilly climate with their hospitality and gracious generosity. What a delightful find! We're already booked to return in a few weeks to catch the spring bird migration and share more with Karl and Patrick in their peaceful haven. This is truly the best place we've stayed in all of southeast Arizona.

The Casa is an oasis of relaxation, excellent food, vibrant bird watching, and thoughtful hospitality from hosts, Patrick and Karl, and their sweetheart dogs, Shadow and Cody. There is plenty to do in the area, or you can do "nothing" amidst beauty and peace and quiet. I like the freedom of being a free-range guest, with 24-hour access to the spacious common rooms, or to the outside acreage for rambling along the San Carlos River, or walking the labyrinth. An added bonus is that the guests at the Casa are like most birders I’ve known – happy, knowledgeable, adventurous people – a delight to spend time with. Bette-B, Omaha, NE

Patrick and Karl have created a perfect experience for their guests. They've thought of all the little things that make a place special. It's a really beautiful inn, food is great, and Patrick and Karl are lovely, helpful people. Everything we needed was available, yet there was compete privacy, which is not always true at B&Bs. This will be the first place we contact when planning our next trip to AZ.

When we booked this mini-vacation we thought if would be a nice getaway for 3 days. We had no idea of the thought that Karl and Patrick had put into this place. We needed refrigeration for medicine - no problem, we wanted to grill our dinner - no problem. The rooms are great, the ambience is laid back but very service-oriented. And to have 4 different, great tasting pies available 24x7 - words fail. Thanks!

Great location next to the San Pedro River. Wonderful hosts. Beautiful building and outdoor spaces. Facility is starting to show it's age and therefore was a little pricey. Cleanliness was not an issue it just doesn't have what it takes to rate the price.

We just stayed at the Casa for the 3rd time, including our 2nd Thanksgiving visit. The Casa is just the most hospitable, friendly, warm, relaxing place we've ever stayed. The food is spectacular, the service provided by the warm and friendly hosts is more than accomdating, and the area is just gorgeous. Bisbee is just a short 20-minute drive away, and Tombstone not much further. If you're not a birder there are plenty of things to do in Bisbee, including a lot of fine places to dine, lots of antique and other interesting shops, the ghost tours (highly recommended!), the mine tour, etc. We love the fact that the rooms do NOT have TV's (keeps the place very quiet), yet there is one available in the great room, should a can't-miss football game (or two!) be taking place during your visit. Wifi is available throughout the property, though you'll have a tough time locking onto an AT&T cell signal. We've met some fascinating and friendly people from all over the world during our stays, which have thus far all being during the fall/winter period. We plan on a monsoon season visit to sample the local thunderstorms and summer greenery.

We stayed at this inn with a bicycling trip. The inn keepers were the most accomodating people we have encountered. We came hungry from our travels (no car) and they graciously cooked for us. The rooms are spacious and clean and quiet! The outside grounds are beautiful and the inside is large and welcoming with beautiful handcarved furniture. The only downside is this place is a bit remote so you need a car. Other than that this is a fabulous inn

The Casa is indeed a beautiful place, with guest rooms build around a lush central courtyard featuring a fountain supplying the constant sound of cascading water. Karl and Patrick are great hosts, the breakfasts were excellent, and the afternoon snacks – pies, cookies, cakes, coffee. tea, etc. were wonderful (although disastrous for our diets). They supply lots of guide books, bird and wildlife books and all the great things everyone said are true. However, for the downsides: We were there in late October, too late for most birds, and primarily wanted to stargaze; this, was a disappointment – near our room offered no sky view, and so necessitated getting dressed warmly and going outside, where the door, parking lot, pool area, and ramada were all lit up. To get a dark sky view, you had to go away from the main property – not something you often felt like doing in the middle of the night, (at a previous B&B in Sonoita, our room had a deck that faced out into a gorgeous dark sky, and we were spoiled). Also, my husband had chosen the Casa, over less expensive B&Bs, primarily because their website features a photo of a gorgeous pool and infinity hot tub, but the pool was covered and the hot tub turned off until after 4PM. The hosts were very happy to uncover the pool on request whenever he asked, but it was inconvenient, and the pool was freezing when uncovered. The room was fine, but had no television, one was available to watch in the main living room, but again, not convenient – we were there during the World Series, and would have enjoyed having it on while we read in bed, but spending the evening sitting, uncomfortably, in the common room was not really an option. Furthermore, they were having a very destructive snow storm on the East coast, which we were heading back to, and it would have been nice to see the news/weather in our room. Casa de San Pedro can be a great place, depending upon what you are looking for, but it wasn’t really for us.
We are sad that this guest was not fully satisfied with her stay at Casa de San Pedro. Indeed, we are not a desitination for everyone. We do note that our guest rooms are located around a courtyard, and minimal lighting is required for safety on walkways, in the parking lot, and for safe access to the pool and spa area. Our lighting is low level/minimal, focused downward to illuminate without being bright area lighting. We did offer to turn off outside lighting for this guest to enhance her star gazing, but our insurance also requires adequate lighting of walkways, the spa, and parking area. Nevertheless, we did turn off the lights for them. The pool is availabile seasonally, and this was, after all, late October. We did open the pool for them on request. Our normal operating hours for the hot tub are from 4 to 10 pm - a schedule that fits our normal guests. We did heat the spa on request so that they could enjoy it several times during the day. Being a small inn it is not feasible, economical, nor logical for us to heep the hot tub hot 24 hrs. a day. And we do not have TVs in the guest rooms to keep the rooms quiet, which most guests find a plus. Most guests do use our free WiFi and their laptops or iPads to have access to the internet, news, weather, and even online TV/radio stations in their rooms. This guest's husband told us how much he enjoyed the Casa and how perfect everything was when he checked out, so we are sad that his wife did not choose to similarly enjoy the environment and our efforts to meet her every demand.

This was our second stay at Casa de San Pedro. The hosts, Karl and Patrick, really make the visit special. They will go out of their way to get you directions, to recommend things, to give you directions, often with a map. And the birding is great along the San Pedro right off their property and also in the area. Had two "lifers" this time and this(end of October) is not prime birding time.

I have been to a few B&B's and this was, without a doubt, the best I have been to. The atmosphere, Innkeepers, rooms, views, etc. were fabulous. I will highly recommend this B&B to my family and friends. The only negative - I was only able to stay 1 night. I cannot wait to return for a longer stay.

We held our annual women's retreat at this site and it was a perfect venue for it. The place is absolutely charming, clean, and peaceful. The labrynth, sounds of the waterfountain, decor, bird sanctuary, river walking path, pool, jacuzzi, and the sounds of nature brought us all immediate bliss. The owners were perfect hosts and made the most incredible meals. They provided 24 hour tea, coffee and yummy baked goods. We will most definitely return.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Casa de San pedro and both my husband and I had a wonderful time.We had read the reviews prior to our trip but our expectations were exceeded on our arrival. From the quiet courtyard with tinkling fountain to the wonderful food everything was perfect. Thanks must go to Karl and Patrick for the way everything seems to work seemlessly. The birdwatching was superb and the swimming pool very welcome in the late afternoon. The food was delicious and the pies fantastic. Shall have very happy memories of sitting out in the late afternoon sun with glass of wine in one hand and bins in the other watching the humming birds. If you have never done B and B before then this is the perfect way to start. A little bit of paradise which will surely draw us back again. A and A Yorkshire England

Spent two nights there and am already plotting a return. Karl and Patrick were great hosts, there when you need them but not intrusive. We especially loved all the outdoor areas, so much so that we decided to bring food to prepare dinner to eat under the stars rather than drive into town to eat. Lots of places to hang out both inside and outside the inn. Great reading lights by the beds, which is often missing from B&Bs.

We stay at Casa de San Pedro as often as we can as it is a wonderful respite from the summer heat of Phoenix. Each visit is anxiously anticipated and never fails to meet our expectations. Karl and Patrick are excellent hosts, the breakfasts are creative and delicious, the location is beautiful and don't get me started on the pies. Recently, Karl and Patrick partnered with the chef at a Bisbee restaurant for a fantastic AZ wine dinner. I can't remember when I have had a more pleasant evening. We are not birders but enjoy the conversations of those that are.

The only regret I have about Casa de San Pedro is we didn't stay longer. Karl and Patrick are great hosts. The kitchen always has delicious, home made pies. While eating pie you watch through the kitchen picture windows where many bird feeders are located. You'll see so many different birds. We really did love San Pedro, beautiful gardens and landscaping and great bird watching

We had a wonderful four-day stay at Casa San Pedro and can’t recommend it highly enough. The whole experience was delightful, and Patrick and Karl are great hosts. We enjoy the delicious and more-than-filling breakfasts, our comfortable and spacious room and bed, the ambience of the courtyard and the inside living areas, and the conversation of the other guests. We were there primarily for the birding and we were not disappointed – a colourful array of birds without having to leave the yard. But we did leave the yard and enjoyed nearby birding and good restaurants for dinner. We were especially appreciative of Patrick and Karl’s attention to special dietary needs; this made our stay worry-free.

The Casa De San Pedro is a big slice of heaven. Karl and Patrick are superb hosts and the Casa itself is gorgeous. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing, sometime you don't want to go off birding, you just want to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Cody and Shadow do their part to make you feel welcomed and like part of the Casa family. We've stayed there twice and hope to return again. It really is a special place.

We spend three relaxing days at Casa de San Pedro at the end of May. The well kept inn is very quiet and peaceful, and offers wonderful access to hiking and bird watching. Patrick and Carl really make their guest feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast and afternoon fresh, home made pies were a real treat! I will return to Casa de San Pedro!

We have just returned from our fourth visit to Casa de San Pedro. As always, it was a wonderful experience. The owners Karl and Patrick are friendly and helpful beyond expectation. They work very hard at keeping the Casa a first rate place and understand what it means to give their guests great service. We are birders and so being able to walk 5 minutes to the river is a special treat. The public spaces are attractive (with a complete reference library of the flora and fauna of the area), the breakfast is divine, and the pies--always available on the sideboard for a snack--are delicious. If you're coming to beautiful SE Arizona, don't miss spending a few nights at Casa de San Pedro.

I spent three days last week at Karl and Patrick's lovely B&B. I was totally pleased with the special attention they each paid to the details of the property and guest rooms, and also to the needs of their guests. Tastefully decorated comfortable rooms and very spacious common areas indoors as well as outdoors for guests to mingle or find private alone time. The breakfasts each morning were incredibly delicious as well as artfully presented. The conversation and cameraderie of fellow guests at breakfast added a special ambience to an already pleasant experience. Each evening freshly baked pies and cookies as well as teas and coffee welcomed guests returning from their daily excursions. What Karl and Patrrick were not able to provide, mother nature filled in the gaps with the beauty of mountain vistas, colorful sunrises and sunsets and a huge variety of colorful birds. The proximity to the San Pedro River was another huge plus. I will not soon forget the day I arrived at the casa to the site of a huge flock of western tanagers (maybe 3 or 4 dozen) happily perching in the trees and around the grounds of the property. For your hospitality and attention to detail, you have earned my repeat business. Thankyou, Karl and Patrick for allowing me to share a few days with you in your special corner of the universe. My husband and I recently stayed at the fabulous Casa de San Pedro - it was the best B&B we have ever been at. Hosts Patrick and Karl took care of our every need, their cooking and baking are amazing, and the inn itself is stunning. I am a bird watcher but my husband is not. Even though the inn is geared toward birders, with hummingbird and various other feeders around the property, my husband enjoyed it just as much as I did. Our room was very well maintained and the decor was very nice. We opened our door onto a lovely courtyard where hummingbirds flitted around at the feeders, and we ate our meals on our own little table outside our room. For birders: the bird life here is insane. We had Lazuli Buntings, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Wilson's Warblers, Western Tanagers, Gambel's Quail (with babies!), Kestrels, Barn Owls, hummingbirds, Yellow-breasted Chat, Vermillion Flycatchers, and that just scratches the surface of what you can enjoy by just looking out the window or lounging in the beautiful backyard of the property. We can't wait to go back to the Casa de San pedro. Thank you Karl and Patrick (and Shadow and Cody too)!!! --Stephanie and Bob, NJ

The casa was like being at the home you wish your home looked and felt like. The proprietors were at beck and call, the food delicious, the ambience so relaxing, one felt one's shoulders dropping by the hour. We would like to come again and bird along the river more and race around to other canyons less.

We have visited Casa de San Pedro five times now and each time they make it special. Different friends and family members joined us each time and it's the BEST place to visit with one another, watch birds together, take a swim, meet new people over breakfast, or barbeque out back for an "at home" dinner (with PIE everyday for dessert!) This year we had golfers with us and they loved the Turquoise Valley course and the Copper Mine tour in Bisbee was a new treat as well. Of course, NOTHING beats the birding. On our own or with the guides, we rack up life listers every time. We'll be back for as long as Karl and Patrick will have us.

We were excited to return this year after a much too short a stay 3 years ago. This beautiful, comfortable, home offers wonderful hearty breakfasts, fresh baked pies and cookies available every afternoon and evening, a lovely library, many birds visiting their several feeders, and great access to nearby birding spots. Trails also lead from their home to paths along the San Pedro River for birding opportunities close by. At certain times of the year they sponsor hummingbird banding by professionals, which is an amazing and educational experience. Karl and Patrick are gracious hosts and seem to think of everything one might want or need while staying in their home. Amenities include: WiFi, washers and dryers for customer's use, refrigerator space for personal needs, microwaves for your own food or for the frozen homemade dinners you can purchase from them. In warm weather their pool is open for swimming and relaxing in their garden setting. This B & B is just simply outstanding in every way.

The subject line says it all. The Innkeepers are running a first-class B & B Inn. Birding opportunities right off the property are excellent and their arranged events (bird walks/dinners) provide a value-added bonus. A great relaxing atmosphere with everything one might need already thought of. These guys are doing it right!

Karl and Patrick run a very efficient and professional establishment--we had very nice accommodations and wonderful food (especially the afternoon "dessert bar" which we partook of with great relish!). Both gentlemen helped us with any information we might've needed on the local area, and were so kind and helpful that we look forward to our next outing to their establishment in another year or two.

Loved our 2 night stay at the Casa de San Pedro at beginning of April. Very comfortable room and common areas. Hospitable, efficient hosts. Great breakfasts and very good Mexican meal on the Monday night. Convenient location for sight-seeing in the area, eg. Tombstone, Bisbee and Kartchner Caverns. I'm new to birding and really enjoyed seeing the amazing variety of birds both outside the Casa and during the early morning river walk with extremely knowledgeably guide. Will recommend to friends and hope to come again.

There are a large variety of birds and mammals in the region. We saw a coatimundi on our walk along the river. The B & B itself is very peaceful. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The hosts provide a relaxing atmosphere while making sure the needs of all the guests are met.

We stayed here multiple nights in March and there's little I can add that others haven't already said. Casa de San Pedro has friendly hosts, comfortable rooms, a well appointed common room with internet connection, and delicious breakfasts & pies. It has an atmosphere that attracts guests who enjoy natural surroundings, a quiet atmosphere, and interesting conversations. I do have one suggestion to make to Patrick & Karl which only a fellow birder would understand. Remove the house sparrow nests in the inner courtyard - and anything else you can do to reduce the number of house sparrows. If there were fewer house sparrows there would likely be other native birds coming to the fountain - not to mention less constant chirping at dawn. As I said, this is not a big thing - and only mentioned because they do advertise in birding journals and attract many birders. I can confidently say that no birder travels to Arizona to see house sparrows:-)! However, just to be clear and fair, there are feeders in the outer areas that do attract local native birds.

We stayed in room number 5 for our last two nights of a birding trip to southeastern Arizona. It was hard to leave to go birding with the great surroundings and the wonderful food. We particularly liked the brownies which had some heat to them. Karl and Patrick made us feel like friends being welcomed into their home. The faciltiy is beautiful and we can't wait to come back next year.

We have stayed with Karl and Patrick several times and have always had a great stay. Every time it seems it cannot get better but it does. And the cooking class I took was a blast and an awesome meal too. There are few places so well set, with great hosts, to enjoy the great Arizona outdoors and its history.

Features: Awesome bird watching. The hosts, Karl and Patrick, know how to attract local and migratory species to their yard. Windows and yards open out to bird feeders all over the property. They take care to know what birds like to eat and provide it. Casa De San Pedro is located close to many major must-see birding areas including crane migration grounds, wildlife refuges, Huachuca Mountains, several canyons and other bird viewing attractions Back yard opens to the San Pedro River and BLM land for easy access to walking trails Quiet comfortable rooms Mexican-spanish hacienda style property beautifully decorated Breakfast is gourmet with a southwest twist. It's full of fresh ingredients and stays with you all morning so you can hike, walk or bird watch BBQ's on property for lunch or evening grilling Guest services include washer/dryer, refrigerator storage, guests can borrow plates, etc from the guest kitchen Home made pies and cookies available any hour along with tea/coffee bar Professional kitchen. Sometimes they offer cooking classes with a guest chef. Patrick and Karl are cool because they are approachable, available but not in your face We've stayed with Patrick and Karl at Casa De San Pedro several times and we can't wait to go back again. We always come away from our visits feeling relaxed, rested and refreshed. We see different birds every time we go but so far we've always gotten to see our favorite local, the Vermilion Flycatcher. We always bring something for dinner and have a quiet dinner on one of the many patios. We usually bring things to make lunch and then pack lunches for hiking or walking. Of course, breakfast is the main course at Casa! We're told there are some good local restaurants but we don't usually want to leave once we get there. :)

I wanted to take my friend from out of town and my daughter to the Tombstone/Bisbee area. None of us had ever been and someone suggested I look for B & B's that were located along the San Pedro River. From the website, I determined that this B & B was the one to stay at and I must say, that the pictures and information from the website really did match-up perfectly with the real site itself. Even though, we were not avid bird watchers, we did enjoy watching the birds as we relaxed in the evening and on our morning walks. We were educated on a few new bird species by other guests who were staying there. The Mexican dinner that was catered/prepared on site was delicious as were the morning breakfasts and the afternoon pies. This is a place that I would like to bring the rest of my family to see and it is one that I have already recommended to family and friends.

My wife and I stayed for four nights at the inn in February. Every morning we were greeted in the large dining room by congenial guests and the hosts, Karl and Patrick. The breakfasts were superb, one of the best in the US. In addition to the breakfast in the afternoon and evening there are pies for a snack. There is a wide selection of hot beverages all the time. Our room, large and comfy, opened onto the central courtyard which provided us a sheltered location until it warmed up. February can be cool in the high desert. Often we sat outside watching the many birds that came to the feeders. They are located close to the San Pedro River and easy walking paths. There are a couple of great rooms that were well stocked and comfortable for relaxing and visiting. There were laundry facilities for free use, which was very handy. The hosts were a wealth of local knowledge and helpful for selecting restaurants and activities.

We are not avid bird watchers, however after reading the many glowing reviews of the Casa San Pedro we decided this was the place for us! We enjoyed the location near the San Pedro River, the owners were delightful and the pie...well we would come back just for that! We tried all four varieties that Patrick made during our stay. Visiting on the patio and over breakfast with other guests was a highlight. We were able to take some amazing pictures of the sunset. Great place to get away from it all.

There are many rave reviews on this site for Casa de San Pedro. I can say without hesititaion that yes the reviews are accurate and believeable. These folks are not gushing about their experience for nothing. If you choose to stay here - you will not be disappointed. This B&B is first rate. It is not some old house that is being used as a B&B to help pay for repairs. It is an Oasis that you will look forward to coming back to after your day exploring this area of Arizona. So much to do. For the birdwatcher, you can walk out the door onto public land and you can be at the river in less than 5 minutes. Coffee is self serve, and ready in the morning when you are! Meals are nutrious and filling. I was able to skip lunch and only have a snack each day. I would not hesitate to re-book again!

The proprieters of Casa de San Pedro, Karl and Patrick, operate their B&B with a quiet efficiency that guests appreciate immediately. Karl came out to greet us upon our arrival, showed us to our room and then gave a brief tour of the facility. The room was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. We never heard the guests in the ajoining rooms during our two-night stay, even though the Inn was full both nights. The common area lounge are also warm and inviting with seating that allows both solitude and meeting other guests. Given that the Inn is adjacent to a wonderful birding area, most of the guests were birders and conversations were quickly struck up about that day's sightings or the next day's plans. Breakfast is served in a pleasant dining area with two tables each seating 10 guest - the layout once again encourages cameraderie among the guests. Karl and Patrick served wonderful breakfasts that could have been featured in Gourmet or Bon Apettit. If you weren't sure of where to go that day, they were quick with recommendations, directions and maps. Or you could just stay at the Inn and watch the many species of birds that visit their many feeders. All in all it was a delightful experience that we hope to duplicate annually.

This inn feels exceptionally welcoming in a genuine way, the owners master the perfect balance of being welcoming and available for questions and conversation without being intrusive. The guest rooms are simple and comfy, and the well-designed, SW style common rooms and grounds are gorgeous and comfortable. The food is outstanding, the best B&B food I can recall having in decades of travel. The overall feeling here is nurturing and peaceful. We wished we had stayed more than 3 days, there is plenty to do in the area, especially for nature lovers. My impression is that this B&B attracts very interesting guests, we certainly enjoyed the people we met. As far as comfort is concerned, the only thing we would wish for would be a bathtub to soak in after hiking (although the shower was nice). This would not be so much an issue during pool season. We will definitely return.

We were there from a Thursday to a Sunday. Patrick and Karl were outstanding their service. We left at 6am on a Sunday morning and Patrick offered to get up and fix scrambled eggs. We declined the offer, but he did have a very nice cold breakfast waiting for us. Fantastic! The cooking class was a total blast. Chef Gratien Torione and his wife France were wonderful and conducted and really fun class.

My husband and I needed a very quiet weekend away from our 5, 3, and 1 yr olds. This place hit the spot!!! Karl and Patrick were more than helpful. The breakfast was excellent, and the pie exceeded expectations. The Casa directs marketing to "birders", but rest assured that it is for anyone looking for a beautiful & tranquil place to stay. We will definitely stay here again!!

We have been going to Casa de San Pedro for several years and each return visit is better than the one before. The Innkeepers create a congenial atmosphere that spreads to the people staying there. The grounds and Inn are lovely and the breakfasts amazing. It is an ideal location for hiking, birding, relaxing and enjoying nature. It doesn't get any better than this!

We had a wonderful time. It is in a beautiful secluded setting. The San Pedro River is just a quarter of a mile away and flows year round. The Inn itself was exceptional in every way. The owners were friendly and helpful but gave us our privacy. We had delicious homemade blueberry-peach pie in the afternoon and a wonderful hot breakfast of eggs benedict in the morning. We're from nearby, in Tucson,AZ. It was a quick but refreshing getaway!

We stayed at the Casa de San Pedro for three nights in early January 2011 and had a great time. The Casa is adjacent to the San Pedro River and Bureau of Land Management property so that the birding on-site is excellent. Its location about midway between Sierra Vista and Bisbee provides easy access to some of the best birding areas in southeast Arizona and convenience to some great restaurants. The Casa is a beautiful building and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The owners are very hospitable and knowledgeable about local birding areas and the ammenities are very good. They serve excellent breakfasts which are much more than most can eat and accommodated my special gluten-free needs.

We have always had a great experience at the Casa. The Casa is a great base for birding the famous canyons and riperian areas nearby. Karl and Patrick welcome you as family. Breakfasts are tremendous and flexible for early birders. We particularily appreciate the art from artists such as Lisa Walraven. The setting is classic near the San Pedro river. Occasional special catered dinners are also a treat. Dining and conversing with interesting guests is an enjoyable enperience. The Casa is our favorite B & B bar none.

A very top-notch facility with beautiful rooms and a great living and dining area which is spacious and a nice area to go to. And there are no headless bodies anywhere is sight; do not believe our current (and hopefully short-termed) governor.....no risk whatever from the border problem.

During our Christmas Holiday, my fiancee and I stayed two wonderful nights at Casa de San Pedro (Room #3) while visiting southeastern Arizona. When we arrived, Karl provided us with a tour of the property including our room. Casa de San Pedro is located a bit "off the beaten path" in rural Hereford, but it is relatively easy to find - especially with a GPS. The inn, which is located in close proximity to the towns of Bisbee, Tombstone, and Sierra Vista, is very spacious, comfortable, and accommodating. Tea and coffee are readily available, and the inn offers a changing and wide selection of complimentary pies and cookies to its guests. The rooms of the inn face an inner courtyard with a lovely fountain, and there is even a gift shop and a room with washers and dryers for guests. Our room (#3) featured a king-size bed, bathroom with Mexican tile, and fireplace. Breakfasts were grand, and we highly recommend this place!

This return visit was better than ever -- the Casa is a magical place, even in the off-season. The room was neat, clean, and toasty warm in the cooler weather. The walks along the San Pedro River were peaceful and solitary. Star-gazing from the jacuzzi was exceptional. Karl and Patrick were friendly and accommodating as always, as were their canine friends Cody and Shadow. The food was excellent and plentiful -- many choices of delicious homemade pies anytime during the day. Casa de San Pedro is a truly restful retreat in Cochise County. Thanks for the memories, and I will be back again!

The B&B is located in beautiful part of Arizona, about mid-way between Sierra Vista and Bisbee. The buildings are well-maintained, very clean and attractively decorated. It is not a fantasy inn, but rather like visiting the home of well-off relatives with understated good taste. Karl and Patrick are excellent hosts who operate with the seemingly effortless efficiency that is the product of being really good at it. The breakfasts were outstanding. We recommend Casa de San Pedro and absolutely would stay there again.

Good lighting in the rooms as well. What can I say - we'd go back anytime.

This was the first B&B we experienced in our lifetimes and it was a nice little gem tucked away just 20 minutes from our home. Karl & Patrick were gracious hosts and we appreciated their warmth and generosity in sharing their "home". This is a well-maintained B&B and we could tell the hosts take great pride in it. Delicious coffee in abundance, and the only slight disappointment was that the breakfast of fruit, french toast, small muffin, link sausage, and OJ was not the "gourmet breakfast" we were expecting. Maybe we're just too picky!

My reason for visiting was to see a hummingbird banding at the San Pedro House, located 10 miles from the B&B. I brought my 78 year old Aunt from NJ, and my partner as my guests. We stayed 2 nights. We were all very pleased with the Inn & the customer service. The Inn is beautifully decorated, clean & well maintained. Patrick & Karl are personable & helpful. The property around the Inn inspires both the naturalist, and the vacationer just looking to kick back & relax. The food is excellent. Dessert is a real treat - homemade cookies, cakes & pies (available 24/7). I would definitely recommend Casa de San Pedro B&B. I may very well make it an annual destination. Thank you Karl & Patrick.

We stayed at the Casa for the 4th time Sept. 28 - Oct. 4, 2010. Why do we keep going back? Simply the best B&B we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Karl & Patrick are the perfect hosts, the setting is magnificent and the food is amazing. Your biggest regret will be you didn't book a long enough stay! For birders, the location couldn't be better. There is excellent birding on the grounds of the Casa and you are centrally located for all of the best birding sites in the area. You will love it at the Casa.

This property is adjacent to the San Pedro River on one side and to BLM land on the other. The views are gorgeous, and the property itself is quite beautiful, too. I sat out on a bench for a half hour to talk on my cell phone, and saw numerous species of birds just come right up and feed at one of the many bird-feeders close to me. Then I took a walk, and saw a bullfrog in the pond and some beautiful dragonflies (blue ones AND orange ones). Karl and Patrick are conscientious and take good care of their customers. Their breakfasts are delicious and satisfying for this "health nut," but would appeal to the average eater, too. When I asked for a recommendation for a good dinner place, Karl recommended one of the top restaurants in AZ (it's in Bisbee, and it's not expensive), and printed out directions. The cost is a little high for me, but I'd come back anyway, just because the place and the people are a delight. In fact, I would make this a destination.

This is a special and very private place to 'decompress', check out the wildlife, act as a home-base for visiting nearby sights, swim, or just lounge around. Before our stay the monsoon rains had turned the usually brown grassland into a green carpet, extending literally from the pool area as far as the eye could see both north to the horizon, and east to the green of the San Pedro river cottonwoods. Very nice. Breakfast was divine. Afternoon pastries yummy. The personal attention by the innkeepers was just right - never intrusive but immediately there when needed. Bring your own wine; check out the recommended restaurants in nearby towns.

We visited Casa San Pedro in August to escape the Phoenix heat and experience the Southern Arizona monsoons. We were not disappointed. There was rain every afternoon and the an amazing double rainbow over the mountains the second evening. The Inn is lovely and the proprietors are gracious and welcoming. The is a wonderful walking path adjacent to the property that goes to the San Pedro river or takes you on a circle with mountains views the whole way. The breakfasts and afternoon pie were delicious. We went to sleep each evening to the sound of the water fountain in the beautifully landscaped courtyard. We will be returning to Casa San Pedro.

Casa de San Pedro is simply one of our favorite places to go in Arizona, and is our favorite B&B. Located near the San Pedro river, the bird watching is outstanding and hikes along the river are beautiful. The rooms are clean and extremely comfortable and the breakfast is ALWAYS delicious. And the pies and the cookies that are available 24-7 are as good as you will get anywhere. My wife and I are now planning on making it an annual event to spend 3 days and nights there every year. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, reasonably priced place to get away from it all.

We came for a wedding anniversary party. We were amazed at this lovely oasis of Spanish architecture, the interior decor of both the rooms, the commodious public spaces and the opportunities for bird and butterfly watching afforded by the plantings. The service and the food was likewise excellent.

My husband and I recently stayed for three nights at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast. Patrick and Karl are very friendly and make you feel right at home. The breakfasts that they create are absolutely amazing! The gardens and pool area were also wonderful. And they knew all the great birding sites which was perfect for my in laws whom we had brought on vacation with us! We will definitely be staying at this wonderful bed and breakfast again!!
5 on July 07, 2010
We had a wonderful time at the Casa over the 4th of July Weekend. My friend is wheat sensitive. Carl and Patrick went out of their way to make sure she had a wheat-free and creative breakfast equal to the "wheat eaters". Cody and Shadow (golden retrievers) where polite and friendly dogs, so I got a big dose of dog-love. Everything about the inn and touring the area (including Chiricahua National Monument) was exceptional.

Friends told us about this very specail B&B. Therooms are beautifully appointed; the only noise is the chirping of birds; the breakfasts are to die for and there's always some FRESH HOME-MADE pies on which to snack in the evening. Birding can be done from the chairs by your door, if you so desire. There is ample opportunity to wander the property looking for birds, and the proprietors are very knowledgeable about birds in the area; as well they can point you in different directions for additional birding. A real hidden gem.

Went there for a getaway--it was perfect! Nature/quiet/great birds while you eat breakfast at window view....hiking great....beautiful courtyard with fountain and plants/flowers/birds...if you want to get away from the Big City scene and noisy resorts, this is it! Mexican decor awesome...THE GOURMET BREAKFASTS AND HOMEMADE Pies every day unbelievable! The pool and jacuzzi wonderful -- the stars and moon in evening are incredible. Cozy, great place! The hosts Karl and Patrick are the best! Close proximity to Bisbee for great dining/shopping.

Stayed 6/1-6/3/2110 & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Recently moved to Az. from Mn. so a very good intro. to some of the beautiful scenery, birds etc. of this area. Karl & Patrick were great hosts and the breakfasts/desserts were wonderful. It was a very relaxing experience.

We were intrigued to fine this delightful b & b on the website and decided to stay there for 1 night while on a trip through Arizona. Our only regret was t hat we could only stay for 1 night. The property, the hospitality, the gourmet breakfast and the birds all made this trip a delight. Karl & Patrick are wonderful hosts and will certainly return for a longer period of time and wholeheartedly recommend this b & b to all of our friends and family.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Casa de San Pedro. The breakfasts were delicious and they made sure we had breakfast at 5:30 AM on the mornings of our birding hikes. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds are nice and it is right on the San Pedro River which allowed for easy access for hiking and birding. One of the SABO guide led hikes leaves right from the B&B. Karl and Patrick are both friendly and helpful and if you are there when they have the Mexican dinners available they are wonderful home cooked meals. The atmosphere is friendly and allows for guests to get to know each other. I cannot wait to go back!

This is my second stay at casa de San Pedro. First there with group of high school girl friends for a "slumber party". We are all 75 years young. Patrick and Karl are the finest of hosts and their hospitality can not be surpassed. Second trip this week was 3 friends with our husbands this time. The husbands didn't know what to expect and were 100% happy to be there.

My group of four was pleasantly surprised to find that Casa de San Pedro exceeded our expectations. The proprietors of this establishment are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and the common areas are even better. The food is delicious (upon our arrival we were offered fresh pie). If you are a bird enthusiast, Casa de San Pedro offers easy access to several southwest birding destinations, such as TNC's Ramsey Canyon Preserve and the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. We only stayed one night at this wonderful establishment, but we wished we had booked a whole week!
5 on May 23, 2010
We stayed several nights at Casa de San Pedro while birding in SE Arizona. Located adjacent to the San Pedro Riparian Preserve, the Inn was really delightful ... quite elegant but unpretentious. The setting was perfect for our interests . The room was large and comfortable, opening onto a beautiful common courtyard. Karl and Patrick were incredibly accommodating, providing early breakfasts and suggesting guided walks by area naturalists. There was a guest laundry with all supplies provided. A highlight was the specially prepared Mexican dinner ($18 pp) on the night of our arrival.
5 on May 18, 2010
My husband and I have stayed at Casa de San Pedro many times, we feel very much at home. The Inn is a lovely place to be for many reasons. Karl and Patrick are the perfect hosts, no need is left unmet. The food is always delicious and plentiful. The main reason we go to southeast Arizona is for the birding, it is one of the best places on earth to see hummingbirds found no where else in the US. Just being on the grounds of the Inn is a good place to be, watching the feeders in the yard. The peace and tranquility cannot be beat. The area is full of other interesting things to do, Kartchner Caverns are close by, the silver cities of Douglas and Bisbee and the history of Tombstone.
5 on May 10, 2010
The Casa de San Pedro was the perfect choice for our birding trip to S.E. Arizona. The rooms are beautifully decorated, public areas comfortable, and the hosts are the most thoughtful innkeepers we have had the pleasure to meet. Of course, the breakfasts and afternoon pies are exceptional. I was able to resist the afternoon pastries for only a day or two, and then it became an expected and delightful ritual. The birding out the back towards the San Pedro river was rewarding... there were sightseeing opportunities and good restaurants nearby... and we enjoyed talking to the other guests about many different subjects. We were spoiled by our stay, and it was sad returning home to our pedestrian and uninspiring breakfasts of cereal and fruit. And I still miss the pies.

Casa de San Pedro is in a remote location and is oozing with comfort and friendliness. The Inn itself is very beautiful and the rooms are spacious and comfy. The breakfast is plentiful and top-rate. The innkeepers accomodate the many bird-watching guests with early morning coffee and birdfeeders that attract many local birds and migrants. This was our second stay and we plan to go again next year.

The owners, as well as the location, make this a memorable place to stay. It is ideally located for those interested in birding. A suprising plus, was the opportunity to visit with the other guests at breakfast and whenever. The food is outstanding and unique. We have already recommended this B&B to several of our friends. We are planning to go again if at all possible. Within easy driving distance are several other areas for birding/hiking. The owners are more than willing to help in any way possible. The availability of washers and dryers and refrigerators was more than welcomed.

Excellent birding local, a walk through a gate into the wilds of The San Pedro River! so cool inside the courtyard, beautiful gardens, gourmet breakfasts, pies and cookies. Sooo relaxing!
5 on April 13, 2010
We found this B&B by internet searching and were so pleased to find this gem. Karl and Patrick are thoughtful, attentive owners who make visitors feel welcome and at home. The meals are delicious, the rooms very clean, and the gardens beautiful. A great place for birders, hikers, or those just wanting to have a quiet get-away. We hope to return even though it is a long trip for us.

Our three day stay at Casa de San Pedro was relaxing, fun, and delicious. Patrick and Karl have thought of everything and are more than helpful with answers and directions. We especially enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts. Sitting in the warm, comfortable courtyard outside our room was so relaxing-just what we needed after a long, cold, snow-filled winter back at home. There were many birds on the property and many more not far from CSP. We will be back.

This was our third trip to Casa de SP and we love staying there. The Casa has comfortable beds and pillows, immediate attention to any glitches, warm hospitality, superb food, lovely vistas and proximity to all that SE Arizona offers. The guests are equally companionable, if you want to converse. The care with which Karl and Patrick surround their guests is remarkable as they offer many amenities you might not find elsewhere. At the risk of not finding a room there next time, I can't recommend this B and B enough!

After driving all day, we quickly decompressed in this inviting b&b. Lovely courtyard with a fountain, and lots of opportunities for birdwatching. Food was great- choice of 4 pies in the afternoon, eve, and fresh fruit and wonderful entrees for breakfast. The hosts are genuine, helpful, and pleasant. We would certainly return again if in the area!

We spent three nights in mid-March at the Casa. Karl and Patrick are wonderful hosts. The Casa is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The breakfasts were a wonderful event...great food and comradary. The freshly baked pie and coffee in the afternoon was a treat after a day of birdwatching. Books, magazines, TV, computer, refrigerator, microwave and even a washer and dryer were available for our use and enjoyment. Our stay will long be a wonderful memory.

We enjoyed the ability to view birds in their natural habitat while staying at this quiet, clean, and friendly B&B. The country living and relaxed atmosphere were appreciated by us city folk. Centrally located to Bisbee, Tombstone, and excellent birding venues. What a great place to get away from it all.
5 on March 21, 2010
The peaceful panoramic views of southeastern Arizona and the meandering San Pedro river provide an ideal setting for this luxurious hacienda style B&B. Beautiful furnishings, welcoming great room and dining room, landscaped courtyard and other outdoor seating areas; delicious pies and breakfast, and thoughtful amenities made our stay there better than we expected.
4.6 on March 21, 2010
Common rooms are absolutely outstanding; great light, space, art, laundry option, books etc. The innkeepers have paid attention to the little details that matter; we feel they "thought of everything". They are genuinely pleasant and really appear to enjoy what they do. Grounds were great for bird watchers, and the location is excellent as well.

I loved staying here and didn't want to leave. I felt like I just began to scratch the surface of the lands around the inn and nearby attractions. Karl and Patrick were wonderful hosts and the food was fabulous. I met lots of other wonderful guests too and enjoyed the communal dining. The infinity hot tub was an added bonus. I will definitely return with family and friends.

Having stayed at the inn before, we were delighted to return for a repeat visit. Karl & Patrick are gracious hosts, the breakfasts are delicious, and the afternoon pies a wonderful treat after a day of bird watching. We hope to return again and again!

Beautiful setting with all of the ammenities that one could wish for. It is a wonderful place to be at harmony with nature. Being able to wonder the many trails in the adjacent wild life preserve provides excellentview of many bird species. I always enjoy watching the birds cluster around the feeders outside the breakfast room. I truely appreciate being able to have a meditative walk in the labyrinth. The breakfast is wonderfully prepared and always delicious! Anytime of the day or evening there are freshly baked pastries that are better then any bakery could offer. Patrick and Karl have done a great job of providing their guest a delightful stay. I would recommend Casa de San Pedro Bed & Breakfast Inn to anyone visiting Arizona.
4.8 on February 26, 2010
A great hide-a-way. The room, ambience, location, hosts, food, and friendly service were all tops. Karl and Patrick are to be commended for "doing it right." We loved every moment and wish we had booked more time there. We didn't necessarily go for birding, but understand it's a great place to see them. We had wonderful and relaxing visit and would be back. The inn was recommended by friends and we would do the same.
5 on February 22, 2010
This is without a doubt the best B&B we've ever stayed at. Everything is outstanding, with the BREAKFASTS being a real high point. At first look it is a bit pricey, but given the outstanding breakfasts - you don't need lunch. You also have access to great grilling facilities, refrigerator, etc. and it is easy to make your own dinners - making the real cost very reasonable. Dining out with the cost of wine at a restaurant often make meals more expensive that the hotel. The owners are also exceedingly helpful, friendly and competent -we've stayed there twice already and will be going back again. They need to publish a cookbook of their recipes for breakfasts. They have a "community" computer with internet service so you don't need to lug a computer around to check your email or search the web. We could go on about the positive, and we would highly recommend this location and their owners. George & Judy Reynolds

Casa de San Pedro is unbelievable! The owners, Karl and Patrick, made our stay seem like a visit with cherished friends. The property, adjacent to the San Pedro River and the Riperian Preserve provides for excellent hiking and bird-watching activities just out "your" back door. The location is near other outstanding venues for hiking and sightseeing, including the historic mining town of Bisbee. Their "Casa" is a beautiful building with courtyard, fountain, and labryinth. The included breakfasts were world-class with a dining room affording stunning views of mountains, grasslands, and birds, birds, birds (not to mention deer, coyote, etc.). We can't wait to go back! Daniel and Robin.

Casa de San Pedro is a great birding spot. Karl and Patrick cook up an amazing breakfast in the morning, the rooms are lovely, and the location is very relaxing. Highly recommend Casa de San Pedro!

Southeastern Arizona is home to some of the finest B&Bs in my opinion, and Case de San Pedro is the ultimate destination. The rooms are immaculate and spacious. Beds have electric blankets and many rooms have electric fireplaces. Each room has little amenities, like gourmet candies, classical music CD in the CD player, and nice bath and body products. Fresh made pies and cookies line the kitchen counter and buffets all day and night and the breakfast is excellent. There is free Wi-Fi and an TV room. There is a tremendous amount of open space and land to explore, especially if you bring your dogs, which we always do. You really couldn't ask for more in a B&B/Inn.

The service and attention to detail are superb! Breakfast was a pleasant experience each morning - a generous serving fresh fruit everyday along with a substantial gourmet presentation. The beverage bar was available all day long and freshly baked pies and sweets enhanced the afternoons. Christmas dinner was a very special experience! The setting is restful with birds and native creatures making appearances.

We have stayed at Casa de San Pedro many times over the years. It has been consistently outstanding; our oasis in the southwest. The hospitality of the owners Karl and Patrick is a large part of the experience. The inn appeals to all types of people and is especially accomodating to birders. Breakfasts are outstanding. They accomodate special dietary restrictions. There are always fresh baked pies and other goodies. Adding to the experience are special events such as naturalist outings, art shows, and cooking demonstrations.

And finally, Karl and Patrick are wonderful hosts who take good care of their guests and make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. We will definitely come back soon.

Casa de San Pedro is a charming, Hacienda style setting, right here in southeast Arizona! It takes you back to a day when things were a little less frantic. The Casa is a peaceful and inviting place, where you can enjoy the wonderful views surrounding the grounds, relax by the pool (or enjoy those glistening bright blue water of the pool or spa). Don't forget the beauty of the Courtyard, Where you can set at a table, just outside your door, and enjoy the variety of flowers and watch the hummingbirds make their rounds. By the way, there are owls and other species of birds, as well, to view. The wonderful gormet breakfasts are fantastic! The variety of food is great. The love that these meals are made with is priceless. Afternoons are blessed with Homemade goodies (pies and cookies). Mouthwatering, to say the least. Karl and Patrick are the most gracious hosts! We feel as if we have come to visit friends...and indeed we have! They are always available to assist in any way that they can, to make your stay the best. Karl and Patrick have a great Staff. The friendly Staff keep everything spotless. They are gracious when you need something. All I can tell you, is that you will have a fulfilling stay in a wonderful nature filled area (this with wonderful hosts and staff). Ella Louise Wallace, Phoenix

the design of the building is so conducive to relaxation and comfort. Even the smallest details are carefully thought out -- such as a cd player alarm clock. Food is outstanding, including wonderful home-made pies and cookies. Also, extra guest services provided such as a fridge and laundry facility really make this a stand-out B&B I can't think of a more relaxing place than sitting outside the room overlooking the courtyard at night with the lights from the fountain dancing on the beautiful garden.

Karl and Patrick have created a wonderful respite from one's hectic lifestyle. The breakfasts are the very best the dishes being homemade and from fresh ingredients. The beautiful inner garden attracts many hummingbirds, butterflies, bees. The water feature adds to the restful ambience. Bring your own food and drink, use their grill, and you needn't go to a restaurant. This is one of our very favorite B&B's!

For comfort, service, location and fun the Casa de San Pedro can't be beat. We had a wonderful time learning about Southern Arizona birds and enjoying great food in Bisbee at the Cafe Roka. Breakfasts at the Casa were exceptional. Loved the friendliness of owners and guests. The beautiful labyrinth is an added bonus.

Two couples (all easterns) booked Casa de San Pedro based on an article in Arizona Highways. Carl and Patrick and their facility exceeded our expectations in every way. The Casa is really a small private mansion that accepts guests, the food is terrific and the hospitality from Carl and Patrick is in the top 1% of B&Bs. They set us up for a guided bird walk in the San Pedro river bosque: 49 species, all new to us. We plan to return.

We loved every minute of our 5 night stay here. Our room was quite comfortable, the bathroom a beauty, and the common rooms fittingly decorated and inviting. Karl and Patrick couldn't be nicer. Breakfast was outstanding, with fresh fruit, a baked muffin or sweet bread, and a different and yummy main dish every day. On top of this wonderful breakfast are pies and cookies baked (from scratch) every day and available throughout the day. What more could you want? Oh, and the birds are everywhere - at the feeders and along the San Pedro River corridor, just a short walk from the inn's door. To a birder, this place is heaven; for everyone else, it would probably be heaven too.

Our annual trek to Arizona would not be complete without a stay at Casa de San Pedro. From the gourmet breakfasts to the backyard birding feeders, every aspect of the Casa experience is delightful. This property could be a destination in itself with its pool, pleasant patios, and walking paths, yet it is easy driving distance to some of the top birding and hiking spots in the State. Breakfast is a gourmet treat daily and Mexican dinner night, which happens once a week, is not to be missed. The rooms and service were both top notch. We recommend this Inn most highly.

We have just visited the Casa for the second spring in a row. It was originally recommended to us by friends back home. The site is superbly located for just the pastime I am most interested in....birding and bird photography. I was busy non-stop....my choice.... fueled by the delicious breakfasts prepared by our hosts, Karl and Patrick...... and their wonderful selection of fresh pies , laid out daily in their dining area. It's a bit early yet.... but a third visit in 2010 is definitely in the cards. Give this B&B a try....you'll love it ! Chuck.

Recently we once again returned to our favorite B & B in SE Arizona birding land. The staff is very helpful in addressing any needs. The rooms are excellent. The breakfasts are a wonderful treat, and on returning later in the day there are always fresh pies and cookies ready and the coffee and tea urns on. For birders, there are feeders and seats to watch scattered about, and out the yard gate trails to the San Pedro River for early morning walks before breakfast and then trips to other nearby hotspots. Patrick and Karl can help with suggesting nearby restaurants and even making reservations and with suggesting guides for birders who wish help in finding the local specialties. We have returned several times and would recommend this B & B highly!

Awesome location for birding access - you don't even need to drive anywhere due to its proximity to the San Pedro NCA through the gate! More than a B&B as they offered in-house Mexican dinners (on certain nights which we had the opportunity to experience), coffee/tea and desserts 24-hrs, free laundry acess, and lovely common areas. Especially important to me was the attention to my gluten-free diet which is extrememly difficult to manage while traveling. Karl and Patrick were superb hosts!

We spent three nights at the Casa. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The access to birding was excellent. The hosts, Karl and Patrick were warm, personalble and very helpful with questions. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfasts were deeelicious.

Everything about this place is perfect: the location, the birding opportunities, the amazing breakfasts, and the helpfulness of Karl and Patrick. This was our second visit and surely not our last!

What a great B & B. Patrick & Karl are wonderful hosts. The gourmet breakfasts were a real hit, the homemade pies & cookies (available throughout the day & evening) were like "mom's", the Wed evening mexican dinner was delicious & the amenities were many more than you would expect. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return soon.

Great people! Great food! Great accommodations! Great birding! What more could a person ask for? Truly, Patrick and Karl were wonderful. The breakfasts and one special dinner were delightful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely appointed. The birding was fantastic. We had a wonderful three days and nights, and will definitely return! Gene & Sally

My husband and I have visited SE Arizona multiple times, and each time we have stayed at Casa de San Pedro. The inn is clean and particularly attractive with its great room, courtyard garden and bird feeders. Karl and Patrick are knowledgeable and helpful about local activities (birding) and restaurants. In addition breakfast is consistently wonderful. I'm sure we'll be back again.

Patrick and Karl have developed one of the best B&Bs we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in many. Comfortable beds, thoughtfully appointed rooms and common areas, wonderful breakfasts, afternoon pie!!, lots of feeders so birding is a delight, great location almost on the San Pedro River.

A few miles off the highway, this is an Inn that provides "the extra mile" in service, consideration and quality. Beautifully sited and exceptionally welcoming, this is a must stay for anyone in the Bisbee area. Karl and Patrick are thoughtful, considerate and conscientious hosts.

The Casa de San Pedro B&B is located next to the San Pedro River making this an ideal location to spend time bird watching, exploring Southeast AZ or just relaxing and enjoying the pleasant atmosphere the B&B provides. Karl and Patrick, the owners, are warm welcoming hosts that provide beautiful, comfortable and clean accommodations. The food is excellent. The coffee and fresh baked goods are perfect. The landscaping is nicely harmonized with the natural environment and invites you to relax and hangout! We recommend this B&B to all of our friends (birders and non-birders) and we hope to stay there many times in the years to come. Five stars all the way around. Three cheers to Karl and Patrick for their insight into making this a great B&B. Sharry and David

This was our second stay at the Casa and it was all we remembered and more. Patrick and Karl are delightful hosts: present, informative and gracious. All a nature lover could want is here, with quiet, hiking, flora and fauna, river and desert so near at hand. Karl and Patrick have amassed a large library of books and magazines which are available to guests; the dogs, cody and Shadow, are 'oh so friendly' but never in the way and provide a nice touch of hominess; the food is exquisite and wholesome. (well, the homemade afternoon pies and cookies are never _that_ wholesome but who cares when they taste so good!) A wonderful feature this year was the availability of a guest refrigerator to store lunch/dinner food, and grills to cook it on! That was a very welcome addition! We love the comfortable rooms, the beauty of the surroundings and the variety of guests who co-habit the Casa with us. We always find folks with whom we keep in touch later! We highly recommend this B and B, and have to many of our friends! J & B, Missoula, MT.

This B&B is not just a great place to stay, but a wonderful place to meet people and socialize. The way the catering is set up makes it almost like a comfy social meeting in one's own home. My wife and I had a marvellous time there and met many interesting people. I am an entomologist, and Karl and Patrick went out of their way to help me set up lights to attract insects at night and in the morning, it was most exciting to meet with all the many birders and do a show and tell with all the bugs that their birds depend upon, but are rarely seen. Thanks Karl and Patrick.

My husband and I have just returned from one of our many trips to the Casa de San Pedro where we spent 3 days and 2 nights with my college classmates and their spouses in paradise. There were 7 of us in all and they came from VA and CO and we live here in AZ. They were thrilled with our choice of a place to stay while they visited. Karl and Patrick are the perfect hosts and made the visit especially warm and friendly. The Inn is in the middle of nowhere and everyone commented on how peaceful it was. A wonderful way to relax and get away from it all. We look forward to a repeat reunion.

We loved this place! What a location! We walked out our door each morning into nature--no car necessary. After short day excursions, we came back to homemade baked goods and relaxing in the courtyard. Patrick and Karl are excellent hosts!

This B&B was awesome! Excellent accommodations, gourmet breakfast, and an authentic Mexican dinner. Rooms were beautiful and super clean. Innkeepers were friendly and helpful. The location is superb for birding this area- along the San Pedro river, and surrounding desert grassland. Close to Ramsey Canyon, San Pedro House riparian area, and other birding hotspots. Highly recommended.

This is a great inn in an unusual part of our country. The Spanish territorial style fits perfectly with its surroundings. The San Pedro river is a national treasure. This is much more like an elegant (but informal) inn than the more traditional over-decorated victorian or early american B&B. We loved it, and we shall return.

I have stayed at Casa on many occasions and find it a very peaceful retreat from busy city life. The location is ideal (a short walk from the beautiful San Pedro River (stream), and accommodations are very comfortable. Breakfasts are always excellent -- fresh fruit and delicious entree. The courtyard with fountain is beautiful, and spa/pool area is lovely and well maintained. The vistas from this rural location are AMAZING! The owners are very kind and considerate -- this is truly a relaxing home away from home.

Karl and Patrick are the ultimates at catering and pampering their guests. We love the quiet setting along the San Pedro River. The birding is great even without leaving the grounds of the Casa. After a day of hiking, it's always a treat to stop in the dining room for a slice of the day's pie and a cup of coffee. We always feel so at home.

Our second visit to Casa de San Pedro. Karl and Patrick are perfects hosts. Patrick is an amazing cook - delighting us every morning with a bountiful feast. Evenings welcomed in with bubbling fruit pies and a lime coconut creation out of fantasy. The San Pedro River makes a perfect morning stroll and the Huachuca "Sky Islands" grant a perfect place to hike away the extra glorious calories consumed. I can't wait to return!!!

We very much enjoyed our three night stay at Casa de San Pedro. The setting was beautiful and we greatly enjoyed walking along the wild and scenic San Pedro river. Karl and Patrick were great hosts, just the right degree of help. The stars were breathtaking. It would have been nice if the hot tub had been open. The food was great. I'm now a convert to the B&B life!

We went to the b & b which is just a few miles from our home for a secret escape, and that is exactly what we found. We loved it!

Casa is exceptional in all respects. We have made 3 visits and will not go to southern AZ and bypass Karl and Patrick. They provide an excellent environment and the physical amenities are superb. They are knowledgeable about the birding habitats for amateurs without being condescending. The breakfasts are creative and tasty and the afternoon pies are addictive.

We rarely travel without reservations but we decided to try it this time. We left Tuscon and headed to SE Arizona and figured Bisbee would surely have something that suited our tastes. The Copper Quenn was a big disappointment but in the end we were glad because we had the chance to try the Casa. Karl and Patrick thought of everything. The walk along the river as the sun was setting was the perfect way to end a long driving day. Very comfortable and breakfast to die for.

The experience of staying at this Inn is beyond expectations. This is a gem of a place set in the desert of s. Arizona. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well kept. The amenities create a pampered atmosphere. The breakfasts are delicious and filling. The inn keepers go out of their way to be sociable and helpful. After staying there a number of times, we have every intention to return.

We needed a break from a dark, snowy winter and found it at Casa de San Pedro. It was a peaceful place to relax, listen to the birds, take walks, go on hikes, and star gaze at night. The breakfasts were fantastic, and Karl and Patrick were wonderful hosts. We know we'll be back!

This was our third trip to Casa and we are already plannig the next-everything is outstanding-mid afternoon-to late night snacks are terrific-the birding at Casa is also quite fun. We enjoy Karl and Partick as well as the all of amenitiesand excellent food. The staff and 4 legged companions that show thier gentle presence now and again are also very friendly. There is nothing I would not change about our experience there.

My husband and I chose the Casa de San Pedro from their website and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel was in a wonderful setting with beautiful furnishings in the common areas, rooms were comfortable with excellent beds, linens, and amenities. The breakfasts were extaordinary! The owners, Patrick and Karl were very friendly and knowledgable about the wildlife and local attractions. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Casa to anyone needing to stay in southeastern Arizona!

Although only a few hours from our home, coming here is a true vacation, and we love it. You can be a tourist, a birder, or just lay around the pool until its time for more homemade fruit pie. Better yet, come down for one of Karl and Patrick's special dinners. We came back and so will you.

I gave two nights at Casa de San Pedro to my birdwatching mother as a belated 90th birthday present. We arrived the day after a snowstorm had swept through southern Arizona, and I had my doubts about the success of the trip. Karl ushered us into our delightful, spacious room and a warm, relaxing tone was set for the rest of the trip. There were delicious baked goodies available 24/7 as well as coffee and tea. We read and knitted in front of the gas fireplace the first night and could not have been more comfortable. Although the birding wasn't at its prime, we had a wonderful time exploring the area thanks to Patrick and Karl's tips. They are superb hosts, low key, but there to talk and help you if you need it. We loved the decor, the bountiful breakfasts, and the ambience there. We even made reservations to come back for three nights in September when we can take advantage of the many outdoor areas at Casa de San Pedro and enjoy warmer birding as well. Our entire experience was delightful. Thank you, Karl and Patrick!

When we first tried to make reservations for our anniversary, this place was booked. So we went a week ahead of our anniversary date. The room was perfect and so were all the accommodations. Karl & Patrick, Shadow & Cody made us feel so welcome. They both are fantastic hosts and chefs! They have a perfect blend of knowing exactly when to be around. We came to spend our anniversary with an elderly person living in Sierra Vista that had witnessed our hurry up wedding in 1990 due to Desert Storm. We spent 4 days here but on our last day Patrick remembered this reason for our visit even though we made the reservations months before and he surprised us with a cake. I don't know how they did it but we also had a beautiful full moon that provided romantic walks and talks. We loved the quiet and gentle nature that surrounds this location and its hosts. We were so sad to leave and even now long to return. No phone, no television, no internet in our room. We thought how will we bare it...........but we never missed it. We had restful nights and pleasant conversations in common areas. This place has great visitors and even though we were not "birders", we left with a new awareness and appreciation. We knew this area well from previously living in Sierra Vista from the late 1977-1992. There were many changes. Some good, some bad but the Inn was where we found ourselves yearning to return each time we ventured out. Our best meal outside the Inn was in Bisbee at Cafe Roka. We can't recommend this place any higher. We will soon be planning a return to this place that felt and smelled like our best memories of home.......only better! Joe & Donna Green, Madison, Alabama

My wife loves antiques, wine, photography, and solitude. For labor day I found the perfect place. It's near Siera Vista, AZ along the San Pedro River. My wife was able to photograph birds that are not seen in our area. We took a drive into wine country and stocked up on some of her favorite wines. We came back to the B&B to relax in the courtyard and drink some wine and read a book. The next day I took her to Bisbee to look at Antiques and some superb work of various artists. When we returned we found a bottle of wine in our room. Our hosts wanted to congratulate my wife on her birthday. I'm diabetic and the hosts fixed me a sugarfree apple pie. It was so good that I only was able to eat 2 of the 8 slices as everyone else loved it too. My wife said this was the best birthday present I've ever given her in our 29 years of marriage. We'll be back in April for my birthday!

You could feel the peace and tranquility as soon as you entered the property; No personal need was forgotten and many that aren't provided at hotels were there in our room. Karl and Patrick made you feel welcome even when I was many hours late. The pictures on the internet do not fully depict the beauty of the property. The breakfast was delicious and the evening pastries were scrumptious and I loved them. Can't think of any other place I would want to stay at if/when I return to that part of the country!

This is our most favorite place to stay in Arizona. The place is beautiful, the food outstanding and the inn keepers make you feel like you are family. We have returned here many times with friends and family. Southern Arizona is a beautiful part of the state and this is the most perfect place to stay.
