The Dumplin Patch Bed and Breakfast

We booked our B & B online and were so disappointed when we pulled into the drive way. This is nothing more than a little rambler that has been converted to a simple boarding house. The front yard should have been a good indication on what to expect on the inside. This house, yard included, is filled with every junky, yard sale or gas station trinket that you can find. This was not my first stay in a bed and breakfast, but it was for my children who vow never to return. It is 30 minutes from the canyon and in the middle of nowhere. The breakfast was good, but there are several good places to get good food out there. I would not recommend unless you enjoy extremely tacky decore.

So sorry about your disappointed stay at the Dumplin Patch. Wish we knew at the time of your stay, maybe we could of relocated you to more suitable accomodations. Granted we are located in the Grand Canyon area which is a very remote location. It may be considered a boarding house as our guests do have room and board. We offer special services to help guide our guests to special locations in the Grand Canyon. We offer a great breakfast which is included in the price of your accomodations. Must admit my decorations are a little over the top, but I have had a lot of compliments on the decor. Again, sorry, our Patch wasn't met for you and I am glad you have enjoyed the breakfast and our clean room.

Especially enjoyed talking with Judy and her other guests. Very interesting and eclectic decor.

The deceptively simple facade hides a sweet and very hospitable little B&B. This was my first B&B, so the experience was unique and .... I loved it! Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Nicely maintained with a great bed. Open the window for the light breeze and sleep like a baby on a fluffy feather/down mattress pad for the whole night. Not to mention I was absolutely impressed by the decorations. The breakfast was very tasty. The price was reasonable and an excellent value. I loved this place. It exceeded my expectations! Good location, nice breakfast and very friendly people! I definitely will recommend it to anyone and will stay there again myself if I get a chance!

My wife and I stayed for three days in April. Judy was very gratious and we really enjoyed our stay. This was my second visit and i will definately stay again. Great change from the bland hotels.

Judy was very attentive while not being too involved in our stay. She made some good recommendations of things to see in the area that we were happy we took advantate of. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was very tasty and freshly prepared with a good variety of items. The location is a little out of the way, but close to the Canyon and a good value if that is the purpose of your visit. I would recommend to friends/family.

Everything was great. Judy is a warm & gracious host, & the beds, bath, & breakfast were all you could hope for in a b&b. I strongly recommend that people who stay here do more than visit the Canyon, as you're also a short drive to to the Painted Desert and the amazing Walnut Canyon cliff dwellings near Flagstaff. Only problem: the internet connection didn't work for our laptop (signal too weak for multiple laptops?), though Judy graciously loaned us her laptop.

We stayed 3 nights at the Dumplin Patch. It was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and I will definately go back. The innkeeper was so kind and accomodating. The room was adorable with a wood burning fireplace. Breakfast was great and the drive to the Grand Canyon was beautiful. Absolutely loved it and recommend the bed and breakfast to anyone who wants to experience something a little different from the usual hotels. Comfortable beds, hot tub and peaceful setting.

Just a wonderful place to stay after a day at the GC. Peaceful and wonderful conversation. Really enjoyed having a campfire to roast marshmellows without being bothered by mesquitos (from the Texas Coast).

The innkeeper Judy was fabulous - first time I ever hugged an innkeeper goodbye. Her homemade french toast was awesome. She is a great conversationist and watched out for us by leaving the porch light on until we made it safely home (notice I said home NOT room). The quiet and spectacular view of the stars and milky way in the night sky from the back patio is definitely something you do NOT want to miss.

Great service and excellent pancakes!! We were very pleased with the pleasant stay. Very convenient to the Grand Canyon!

The owner was delightful and very engaging. She welcomed us and we very much enjoyed the eclectic artistry of this B&B. Breakfast and fun was prepared and served by helpers. Our rooms were clean and the beds were great. Since we were sightseeing in the area, she gave us suggestions and directions to some of the "local" sites and they were awesome.

Terrific, cozy and relaxing place from where to visit the canyon.

Inspite of the isolated location and the outside look, we spent two lovely night at The Dumplin Patch Bed and Breakfast. Room were clean and comfortable and decorations were very rich an beautiful. Judy and his son were very kind and they gave us a lot of extra tourist informations. We particulary appreciated their plentiful and tasty breakfasts. It was also amusing to find a funny little dog e three beautiful horses in the property. It will be very difficulta for us to get back again, but we'll suggest The Dumplin Patch Bed and Breakfast to our friends

The place is so nice and the people very funny, we liked it very much but we had a problem. I found this place like a B&B in Grand Canyon National Park and that's not true because is 30 minutes away from there. So if you are looking for a place in Grand Canyon National Park that's not your place on the other hand if you want to rest and find a very original and peacefull place.....go to Dumplin Patch B&B!!!!

The home was very nice, but it felt a little too much like someone else's home. For example, pictures of grandchildren in the room we stayed in, and their personal belongings in the closets. Judy was very pleasant, and Jeremy was a great cook.

Yes, thank you for sharing your feelings about our bed and breakfast. the Inn is our home and we do live here.. I did remove the photos of grandchildren and appreciate your input. The closet is off limits to our guest as it does have our personal belongings stored. Thank you for your views and come again...

Cozy and quiet. Private yet open. Perfect distance from the Grand Canyon for those looking to avoid tourists, but close enough to still be a part of the action if you so choose. The Dumplin Patch is accommodating and friendly. Truly your home away from home.

it was very nice and new for me

Breakfast was made to order & soooo good. The ad is deceiving in that the b&b is not looking out into the Grand Canyon as advertised, it' over 20 miles away..the room price was too costly...the Mariposa room was sooo comfortable to sleep in.

the b and b was 30 miles from the grand canyon but when I clicked on the "map it" button it was shown at grand canyon. they claim " distant view of the grand canyon"- really , really distant like a faint line on the horizon. aside from that, the room was clean and comfortable , the owner was very nice, and the breakfast was good

The B&B is located in a very peaceful and convenient location to the south entrance of Grand Canyon. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive to the entrance. The breakfasts prepared by the family made us felt like eating at home. The nice thing was we got to see the cook performed the magic and chatted with the cook when we visited. Our favorite food was the bacon. Try it, it's super. Overall good friendly service we got on the stay there.

The Dumplin' Patch was wonderful! The proximity to the Grand Canyon was the big draw, but having stayed there for a few nights, location moved further down on the list of positive features. The Mariposa Room was wonderful, the back porch hot tub was soothing, but the owners, Judy and Clay, were the best part of the stay. And Clay's cooking is pretty terrific! Stay there!!!

We stayed for 2 nights, and 2 wonderful breakfasts. Comfortable beds, very clean, friendly and helpful with ideas of things to do. Breakfast was a highlight - Clay's biscuits were terrific, and the kids ate 8 pancakes each!! We were lucky enough to see one of the mares give birth, which the kids loved, and the foal was beautiful. I highly recommend Dumplin Patch, and if I'm lucky enough to visit that part of the county again, I will stay with Judy and Clay again.

It was a wonderful stay. The rooms are beautifully done. The beds very comfortable, clean bathroom and towels. I highly recommend it!
