SOCO Buenos Aires

I traveled with my partner to Buenos Aires for surgery. We stayed at SOCO for two weeks. We were in the Rojo Room and the Cool Room, and we were absolutely charmed. The Rojo Room was nice and quiet, but we expecially enjoyed the Cool Room. If you stay in the Cool Room, you should either be the type that loves street noise, as we do, or you should bring earplugs (which are essential traveler's equipment anyway). The plum-and-lime decor in the Cool Room was charming. The maid service was absolutely superb. The front desk (German, Leticia, Alex, et al.) were so helpful and attentive--we asked for directions to see a milonga, to buy Argentine CDs, to find cemeteries and museums, and their information was accurate, and so very useful. We also enjoyed the breakfast fare--orange juice, coffee, croissants, pastries, ham and cheese, toast, three cereals, yogurt, fruit--the experience was leisurely, the food was abundant and satisfying. The decor is charming--we liked the high ceilings and antique doors, the marble stairs, the combination of modern and old-style. Access to Abasto Mall is around the corner, there are restaurants and museums within a couple of blocks. We want to come back as soon as we can!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Soco. We stayed in the Portena room. The AC worked great thankfully. Staff was very friendly and helpful providing us with suggestions to restaurants (all excellent choices), where to walk, etc. The location is decent - but at night, it did seem a little scary. It is nice to be near the subte, mall and grocery store. Definitely a great place to stay if you want to get away from the major city area.

We had a great experience at Soco, the staff was very kind, the decor was great, and the value was excellent. We were there for only one night, having stayed in Recoleta for a week before staying there. We just had a stop over in BA for one night before heading out to Patagonia. I would say the neighboorhood is the only bad part about this place. You can't really walk anywhere from here, need to taxi it everywhere, which isn't a big deal since taxis are cheap in BA.

Regarding your review, I would like to say that I am sorry you felt unsafe in our neighbourhood, but I can assure you that none of our guests (and not even us, coz' we live nearby and come and go everyday from Palermo to Abasto and viceversa) was ever robbed, pick-pocketed, mugged or whatever. That kind of things can happen and had happened some times to guests we had that were walking in San Telmo, La Boca, Downtown (in the subway), even in Palermo but luckily it never happened here. Despite that I would consider none of those neighbourhoods unsafe either. Buenos Aires is one of the largest cities in the world, and as it, people should take precautions... but I don't think it's unsafe at all. I am not saying that bad things cannot happen here but I guess the fact that no one ever experienced that here shows there is no need to feel unsafe in our place. Once again thanks a million for taking your time and writing your review about SOCO Buenos Aires. We really hope next time you can have more than one night to stay here so you will be able to experience more the good things about staying here. Best regards from Buenos Aires!

I visited BA for a couple of days and decided to choose SOCO based on its reviews... well I have to agree with everyone else here, the place is more than I expected it would be! I stayed in the Pampa Room... it was large and nicely decorated... super big king size bed!!! (it must have been a 2x2 mts bed at least!) and the staff was just amazing... Leticia, German, Alex and everyone else were just more than friendly. I came looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights and ended up staying for a whole week... this place and its staff is just great! I would strongly recommend SOCO! You won’t go wrong here!

My husband and I stayed at the Soco for two nights in August (it was the end of our 4 week South American adventure). The Soco is in a great location - around the corner from a huge shopping mall and easy access to the subway. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering great suggestions on where to dine. The rooms were basic, but clean and huge. Breakfast was standard and adequate (toast, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, etc.). We would certainly recommend this B&B to everyone who visits Buenos Aires!

El hotel está muy bien ubicado, con todas las comodidades a un paso, como negocios, shopping, medios de transporte para acercarse a cualquier punto interesante de la ciudad, restaurantes, parrillas, etc. Es un lugar tranquilo, y las habitaciones están decoradas con mucho gusto y detalle (nuestra habitación era la nr. 2, "Mar"). Nos sentimos realmente a gusto. Tienen todos los servicios en el hotel, por ejemplo, la posibilidad de hablar gratis al extranjero, cosa que no hemos visto en otros hoteles! La atención es fantástica y nos han ayudado mucho, fueron muy serviciales y cercanos. Realmente dan ganas de volver, y por supuesto, recomendable a todo el mundo!!!
