The Gilded Lily Bed and Breakfast

Lee and Walter - we had an amazing stay! The hospitality, accommodations, and breakfasts were all over the top. We truly felt at home and plan to come back very soon. We stayed in the Lilly Pad Cottage and even though it isn't a huge room we were completely comfortable and had a relaxing time. It was great visiting with you both! See you soon!

Lee and Walter were perfect hosts! The room was quaint and full of interesting decor. We enjoyed looking at everything. The outside of the B and B was decorated with the most wonderful Halloween decorations. This provided a very welcoming atmosphere after traveling to get to Eureka Springs. It also made it easy to locate in the dark after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast was amazing each day! Although Lee says he recently taught himself to cook, we already missed having breakfast with him today. The breakfasts were comparable to an upscale restaurant. Both Lee and Walter were a wealth of information regarding things to do and places to see in the Eureka Springs area. They truly made our stay more enjoyable and we look forward to seeing them again! Thank you Lee and Walter for your help and hospitality!

We chose the Gilded Lily as our wedding anniversary present/retreat in 2010 and were so impressed with the owners, Lee and Walter that we decided to make it an annual event. We did not reserve a suite soon enough in 2011; however, we did return in August 2012, and have already reserved a spot in 2013. The ambiance, courtesy, professional attitude--as well as the exceptional culinary efforts--are incomparable. As a real bonus, they have recently purchased a bar in downtown, and made it what we deem as the best club in town--with the best bloody Marys one could desire. Walter and Lee were just awesome hosts this past weekend; we could not have asked for a better time. Lee cooked a 5 star breakfast and had it ready each day at 9am. This breakfast would have easily cost 10+ dollars per plate at any restaurant. The Lily Suite is very roomy. We were very impressed with the size of the jacuzzi and the relaxed atmosphere of the suite. Walter and Lee were absolutely fantastic! My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary in July and were blown away. We had never stayed at a B&B before but now I am not sure if we can ever go back to hotels. The food, decor, hospitality and charm were all over the top! They made us feel at home and like we were the most important guests they have ever entertained. From the fantastic cookies and delicious breakfast to late night conversations on the veranda, the entire stay was an absolute delight. We would recommend this B&B to anyone! This is an enchanting B&B with the most hospitable hosts you can ever hope to meet. We are vegans and have never stayed in a B&B before because we haven't wanted to pose a problem to the innkeepers. We informed The Gilded Lily of our vegan status as a way to let them off the hook; really, we didn't expect anything more than coffee and and an apple. Imagine our surprise when Lee informed us that upon learning that we are vegan, he did some research and went shopping at a local natural market and was looking forward to taking on the challenge of preparing a vegan breakfast. Here is the amazing part; the breakfasts he made for us (we stayed 2 days) were by far the best breakfasts we have ever had the pleasure to eat. Fresh fruit, coconut/soy yogurt, potatoes cooked to perfection, vegan applewood sausage, grilled onions and peppers, tofu with mushroom and spices! Believe me, we got the V.I.P. treatment and I'm not sure we will ever be fit for normal society again after being pampered by Lee and Walter. We should also mention that Lee and Walter are excellent conversationalists and have a knack for making guests feel immediately at ease.

So wonderful, we'll definitely be back! And Walter & Lee are charming and delightful hosts!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Gilded Lily for my 50th birthday. Could not have been any better! Everything was excellent.

This was the first time I'd ever stayed in a B and B. I was scared to leave the comforts of a chain hotel. After this wonderful experience, I will rethink my preference! The food here was amazing! Be prepared to indulge in fabulous quiche, biscuits, bacon, sausage and gravy! I stayed in the Lily Suite with the jacuzzi for two. I wish I'd had more time to enjoy the jacuzzi! I will be returning again! The hospitality/service was beyond outstanding. Lee and Walter were accommodating in every area. They walked with us downtown to do some shopping, took us to great local restaurants, arranged limosine service, and showed us the Eureka after dark! :) Thanks a million, Walter and Lee!

My one stop bed and breakfast! Cannot say enough about the exceptional hospitality, friendly atmosphere and of course the hosts! My husband and I enjoyed our time there and will visit again! If you are looking for a get away and need some rejuvenation then this is the place for you! Thank you Walter and Lee!

Lee & Walter are the greatest hosts! They were friendly and helpful and really helped us feel at home. We stayed in the upstairs suite and slept soundly and the bed was very comfortable. We had a full, delicious breakfast each morning. We will definitely stay at The Guilded Lilly when we return to Eureka Springs!

The room was wonderful and well decorated. It felt like we had traveled 5 hours and still had a house to ourselves. All of our needs were always met. The hosts kept the awesome cookies stocked in our room. Breakfast was great and well thought out. They didn't just slap together some pancakes, they really created full unique breakfast meals. This place is a steal. Wonderful experience!

These are the greatest and most helpful people we have ever met. The food was absolutely amazing. The two of them share in all responsiblilty and so therefore nothing is every missing. The cottage was amaculate and very cozy. When we called for reservations they told us exactly what to expect. The cottage was small like they said but extremely romatic and comfortable. Thank you Walter and Lee for the great time. We will recommend you and will stay again and again.

We just spent a much-too-short visit at Walter and Lee's Gilded Lily B&B, and thoroughly enjoyed it. They are both quite personable, and Opie the dog has a really cute trick :) The bed was incredibly comfortable...I don't think I've ever slept as well away from home. We stayed in The Lily Pad cottage, and while the room was small and the bathroom very small, it was comfortable and adequate. Breakfast was creative and delicious! I told Lee that we "always" stay someplace different each time we go to Eureka Springs, but I truly believe that we have found the place that we will return to on our next visit. We stayed only one night, but wish we could have stayed a week! Our cottage was awesome! We felt secluded and more than comfortable. Walter and Lee made us feel at home, advised us on places to go for fun and food, and were extremely personable and welcoming. We sat on the patio Sunday morning after Lee's amazing breakfast and chatted for an hour or more and had a great time with our hosts. Having never been to Eureka Springs, I was more than pleased with the whole experience, due in large part to Walter and Lee. We will be back, and will stay at the Gilded Lily. Our visit to The Gilded Lily was outstanding! The B&B itself was quaint and charming, the hosts were friendly and entertaining, and the food was out-of-this-world delicious! You can't go wrong staying at The Gilded Lily!

We rented the Lily Pad and it was awful! Tiny, tiny room! They had not vacummed the floor, popcorn kernals still on carpet; tiles were pulled up in the bath; bathroom had not been cleaned; I cleaned the sink myself; towels looked to be 30 years old and frayed; had to go and get another set of sheets because a pillow slip had two blood stains and the sheet had a blood stain; they insisted they had changed the bed, but it was obvious it had not been changed; tried to act like it was fingernail polish, but being a lady, I know what fingernail polish looks like on sheets and I know what blood looks like. Barely enough room to step out of bed and into the bathroom; that is why the photo of the room is just the bed, that is all there is room enough for is the bed. Lee and Walter were very kind, but they need to spend more time on making sure their guests are taken care of by CLEANING!

Thank you for posting your concerns. We are sincerely sorry your stay was not what we would have wanted it to be and what you expected. We look at any criticism of our bed and breakfast as an opportunity to make our next guest stay even more enjoyable. The problems you addressed have since been corrected. New flooring was installed right after your stay, new towels replaced the used ones and we do a closer inspection of the rooms cleanliness. We apologize for any discomfort you experienced at our bed and breakfast. We only want the best for our guest and regret you did not experience that.

This was our first stay at a true bed and breakfast. When we go back to Eureka Springs we will stay at the Gilded Lily! I'm spoiled, I may not stay at another one because it will not be as great as our stay with Walter and Lee. The B&B is located right next to a trolley stop which makes it incredibly accessible to everything in the city. The house is beautiful and very inviting. We stayed in the suite and enjoyed it very much and it is very reasonable. The furniture is incredible. I wish I had pockets big enough to leave with the dining table, as you can see from the picture on the site it is amazing. Lee and Walter are great hosts. Since this was my first stay at a B&B I was a little nervous about feeling like I was intruding. Walter and Lee took care of that as soon as we stepped out of the car. They are very welcoming and personable. They are very easy to connect with quickly. The breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit and a gourmet cooked entree. We've stayed at the Gilded Lily twice in the last nine months and have already booked our third stay for this fall. Lee and Walter have painstakingly landscaped and decorated the property to create a peaceful getaway for their guests, and we especially love the privacy and comfort of the Lily Pad Cottage. We always find fresh cookies or brownies waiting for us when we return to our cottage after a fun-filled day exploring Eureka Springs. We also love the warm and inviting environment Lee and Walter maintain by happily chatting with us throughout our visits. The rates at the Gilded Lily are extremely reasonable; the value of the breakfasts alone make their rates a steal of a deal. Every breakfast we've had has featured two extremely delicious, home-cooked courses that would probably cost us $10-15 per person at a restaurant. The breakfasts are so filling that one could easily skip lunch and eat an early dinner, providing yet another savings benefit. We plan to return to the Gilded Lily time and time again! Walter and Lee are very personable and made our stay a treasure. Breakfast was amazing and so was the easy access to all Eureka has to offer.

As we have visited Eureka many times over the years, we have experienced a variety of inns and their keepers, but we spent last night in the cottage and had a wonderful time! Walter and Lee were very personable and hospitable and made us feel welcome from the first minute. They also shared some great stories of their past adventures and plans for the future.
