Inn Details
Ambleside Lodge is a Canmore Bed & Breakfast, which offers the rustic charm of a wooden lodge nestled in the midst of a spectacular mountain landscape. Breathtaking mountain scenery surrounds you on all sides, with the great outdoors on your doorstep a natural world full of wonders awaits.
Situated in the small Rocky Mountain town of Canmore; a mixture of old and new, with a history dating back to 1883 and the coming of the railroad, a mining community that came alive with the hosting of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games Nordic events. A growing town, Canmore nevertheless retains its charm. Canmore is a renowned centre for many outdoor sporting activities; golf, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking and rafting in the summer and for the winter; ice climbing, Nordic and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, ice walks and dog sledding.
The interior of Ambleside Lodge is predominantly pine and showcases a unique, spectacular fireplace (one of the largest in Canmore) boasting 18 tons of river rock supported by 4 tons of cement. This feature is the centerpiece of a spacious lounge area that is comfortable and cozy, ideal for relaxing in front of the log fire.

- Directions from airport:
After leaving the airport parking, you will come to a 4 way junction controlled by traffic lights, turn left here. Go past the next 2 roads on the left and just past the Freeport Business Park you will come to a 4 way junction. Turn left here onto COUNTRY HILLS BOULEVARD. Stay on this road. It goes through mainly residential areas but there are many roadworks on the other route out of town so this is the best. Keep on Country Hills Blvd until you come to the left turn onto STONEY TRAIL. Follow Stoney Trail to the Highway 1. Turn right on the Highway 1 heading for Banff. There are 3 Canmore turnoffs, take the second, follow the road which will take you back over the Highway 1 towards town. At the 4 way junction go straight over then get in the left hand lane to go left at the next set of traffic lights. This will take you up Main St. Go over two junctions to the top of Main St and turn left at the 4 way. Follow this road, it bends to the right after 200 m and goes over a bridge. We are on the right hand side about 250m past the bridge just after a turn off to the right near the second cross walk.
