Alderhouse Bed and Breakfast

The Alderhouse is a fantastically clean place to stay and Alyce is a very talented chef. She goes out of her way to make her guests feel at home and is very knowledgeable about Ketchikan—she knows everything from the best places to see the local bears to the best places to park downtown. Her breakfasts are out of this world.

Alderhouse is a lovely, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and very comfortable home. The beds, linens and quilts are wonderful as are the thoughtful amenities provided for guests. Alyce is a most gracious host, and offered us directions, suggestions, and great information. She is also a marvelous cook. Her eggs benedict are the finest I have ever eaten! I have stayed in many b&bs in the US and Canada. Alderhouse is at the very top of my list. I hope to return to Alaska and will definitely return to Alderhouse.

We stayed with Alyce Bousley for three nights in her beautiful appointed and comfortable home. She is a fabulous host, gourmet breakfast cook and gracious story teller. The Alderhouse is a great example of what we hoped to find in a B&B: chance to meet "real" people in their homes, great food and comfortable lodging. Alyce delivers it all! Highly recommended.

Our stay was delightful. We enjoyed the home and the hostess and hosts. Our breakfasts were superb.

Alderhouse is simply wonderful. Great, welcoming hostess (Alyce), lovely filling breakfasts and good location. Nice quiet area so able to sleep very, very well. Super clean too. Loved our too short stay! Since I am a quilter I loved seeing the many gorgeous quilts too. All in all, a perfect place to stay.

My stay was a delightful respite from the rainy and gloomy weather! Alyce brought a ray of sunshine into our stay with her gracious greeting, beautifully presented breakfast and soothing (with local flavor) accommodation both in the bedroom as well as in the gathering room!

We stayed at Alderhouse in June of 2007 and enjoyed our first two days so much, we cancelled our stay for the rest of the week at a hotel in town and returned for two more days with Alyce. She's a wonderful chef and immaculant housekeeper. She made us feel quite at home. We wholeheartedly have reccomended Alderhouse to family and friends who also loved it.

Alderhouse is a great place to stay. It is immaculate with a big beautiful, tasty breakfast and very friendly, helpful hosts.
