Alaska's Capital Inn Bed & Breakfast

We recently spent 3 nights here and were so grateful that we had chosen this spot over another hi-end B&B in a different area of Juneau. From Capital Inn we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go: to the docks and restaurants, to town and shops, to the tram and hike down Mt. Roberts to our B&B, on a lovely hike to a waterfall, to the Alaska State Museum. It was a good uphill workout and we loved the exercise because it was the antidote to Mark & Linda's amazing endless breakfasts! My favorite were the muffins, especially the rhubarb. One morning I had muffins, sourdough pancakes and warm chocolate chip cookies -- for breakfast! We felt like family the entire time we were there. They really extended themselves to our needs. We met interesting people from around the world and some colorful locals too!

Once we stepped inside, it felt a little like home and by the time we left 4 days later I am convinced this is the best B&B I've ever stayed at. The hospitality was perfect, the rooms were clean, comfortable and I got the best rest of my trip here. When you go, make sure to say hello to "Duffy" the Scottish Terrier and enjoy your stay sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the garden out back. Whatever you do, don't miss breakfast as it won't get much better than Linda's cooking.

I've traveled to Juneau probably 7 times per year for the past 8 years, and for almost all of those trips have stayed at Alaska's Capital Inn. There is no better place in town, southeast Alaska, or maybe the whole state. Linda and Mark, owners, have lovingly refurbished every detail of the Inn. The rooms are way comfortable, and the sitting and dining rooms invite guests to relax and enjoy each other's company. You can walk to the dock, all the good restaurants and shops, and even up to Juneau's trail system for hikes. I stay there for all of these reasons, but most important are Linda and Mark. Wonderful people with great ideas and tips on southeast travel; and now, fine friends.

Our stay was a true bed and breakfast experience. The aroma of fresh roasted coffee announcing breakfast, a multi-course affair, served in the formal dinning room amidst rays of the morning sun was truly enjoyable. The menu included many delicious items. The unrushed atmosphere, sharing plans or recounting the previous days adventures with other guests was an adventure in itself. The Inn is close to downtown and bus stops to be able to get to anywhere needed to go.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful B&B in a most romantic attic suite! The garden was gorgeous too - we were inspired to find our own haven just like this one. It was a great way to end our 2 week tour of the area. Linda even surprised me with birthday cake (we were celebrating my 40th and our anniv) - it was deliciious (not to mention our goodies bags for breakfast since we had to leave so early). They took great care of us! Beautiful home, great people, walking distance to the Red Dog Saloon :-)...HIGHLY recommend it!

I have stayed at the Inn 4 times now. It is one of the greatest places I have stayed over the years. I look foward to seeing Mark and Linda every stay. The furniture appointments of the period, bring you back in time, of class and elegance. A short walk from downtown Juneau, you will have access to everything you would want to do. Mark and Linda have a great knowledge of all the town has to offer, and can help direct you to any of you needs. The breakfast is top notch. One stay and you will look foward to your next.

We have stayed at Alaska's Capital Inn in Juneau Alaska a couple of times and will never choose a hotel in Juneau again! Mark and Linda welcomed us into their gorgeouse 1906 Arts & Crafts style B&B. We loved the wood work, the antiques, the history of the home and most of all the generous and gracious hospitality that Mark and Linda provided. We have recommended their B&B to many of our friends and if we could have been married in Juneau (instead of Anchorage) we definately would have wanted our wedding and reception to be at Alaska's Capital Inn.
