The Summer Inn Bed & Breakfast

  • Inn Details

The Summer Inn Bed & Breakfast is a charming five bedroom historic house. The Inn is open year round. Located near the heart of downtown Haines, the Inn provides excellent views of the Lynn Canal and is within walking distance to the sites of Haines. The house was built by Tim Vogel, a member of Skagway's notorious Soapy Smith gang and a colorful character in the history of Haines. Start your day with a full homemade breakfast, spend your evening with a good book in our spacious living room, and end your day soaking in Tim Vogel’s own bathtub, circa 1912. We invite you to be our guests at The Summer Inn, big enough for privacy - small enough for conversation. RECOMMENDED BY ALASKA BEST PLACES GUIDEBOOK! Opened in 1987.

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Summer in while awaiting the Ferry in January. Jenty is a gracious host and keeps a very neat and tidy B&B. She's a good cook for the morning meals and even kept home-made chocolate-chip cookies in the jar. And to think, I almost stayed in a hotel! The Summer Inn was so cozy and close to downtown. I highly recommend it.

    Great place to stay!
