The Summer Inn Bed & Breakfast is a charming three bedrooms historic house. The Inn is open year round. Located near the heart of downtown Haines, the Inn provides excellent views of the Lynn Canal and is within walking distance to the sites of Haines. The house was built by Tim Vogel, a member of Skagway's notorious Soapy Smith gang and a colorful character in the history of Haines. Start your day with a full homemade breakfast and spend your evening with a good book in the spacious living room. The Summer Inn, big enough for privacy - small enough for conversation.

Albert, our host, gave us a pleasurable stay at The Summer In Bed and Breakfast. Not only did he serve us a delightful breakfast, he also shared information regarding local sites, activities, restaurants and other topics of interest. Albert's friendly gracious manner made this an enjoyable stay.

Great place to stay in Haines! The rooms were clean and the service/hosiptality was excellent. The breakfast tasty and the overall atmosphere was exceptional. Overall I would suggest you stay here while visiting Haines because it is in town near stores and resturants and is an over all great place to stay.

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Summer in while awaiting the Ferry in January. Jenty is a gracious host and keeps a very neat and tidy B&B. She's a good cook for the morning meals and even kept home-made chocolate-chip cookies in the jar. And to think, I almost stayed in a hotel! The Summer Inn was so cozy and close to downtown. I highly recommend it.
