Convenient to both Bimingham and Gadsden, Roses and Lace is easily reached from Alabama's I-20 or I-59. Also known as The Elisha Robinson House, this Victorian Queen Anne was built in 1890 and is now wonderfully restored to its former glory. Wide wraparound porches with rocking chairs and a view of the Rose Garden are perfect for relaxing away from the stresses of life. There are antiques throughout and three comfortable and lovely bedrooms, all with private baths. The Bridal/Anniversary Suite encompasses all of the 3rd floor and has a sitting area as well as a huge bath. The 2nd floor offers the Garden Suite and the Romeo & Juliet Room--both with electric fireplaces. All bedrooms have flat-screen TV's with DirectTV, Showtime, DVD library, spa robes, stocked mini-fridges, and antique clawfoot tubs (with showers). Nearby are Robert Trent Jones Golf courses, as well as other public courses, shopping at the Outlet Shops of Grand River and a Bass Pro Shop, hiking and outdoor adventures at HorsePens 40 on Chandler Mountain or Lake Sumatanga, the covered bridges of Oneonta, Barber MotorSports, and numerous antique and gift shops. And NASCAR at Talladega is nearby and easily accessed from Roses and Lace!

My husband and I stayed in the honeymoon suite for our wedding night. The charming room wrapped us in peace and comfort after the wedding-day excitement/chaos. Everything was clean, tasteful, and comfortable. The decorating somehow manages to feel opulent without sacrificing peaceful simplicity. The house itself was gorgeous with an authenticity rarely found in B&Bs. Breakfast was amazing--beautifully served and delicious. It was the perfect retreat for the wedding night, and a great way to begin our first day as husband and wife.

My faith in B&B's has been restored!

I needed to spend a night in or near Ashville, AL for business earlier this month. I have stayed at many B&B's, including ones in Johannesburg, Vancouver, Arizona and Georgia, and a few of these inns have left much to be desired. A couple of B&B's were downright scary! However, when I arrived at the Roses and Lace B&B, I was very pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the house and the wonderful charm, friendliness and professionalism of the proprietor, Suzanne Haley. It was very cold, but the fireplaces were lit. My room was quite comfortable, the house was quiet and safe. Ms. Haley went out of her way to make certain that my stay was exceptional. I can't wait to go back to Ashville again. I highly recommend this inn. Her breakfasts are extraordinary!
