West & Southwest

Blair House, Wimberley, TX: Take in dramatic sunset views from the inn's custom designed pool and whirlpool spa. Book two nights midweek and take off an extra 10 percent. Rates: $142-280.

Sunflower Hill Luxury Inn, Moab, UT: This AAA-rated four-diamond inn offers rooms and suites with jetted tubs, luxurious spa amenities, TV/VCR combos, plush robes and more. Complimentary beverages and snacks available 24-7. Rates: $120-180.

Run of the River Inn & Refuge, Leavenworth, WA: The Adventure Suites and the new premier cabin have fireplaces, double Jacuzzi tubs surrounded by river rock, and private balconies. Rates also include complimentary snowshoe usage and tons of great amenities for outdoor adventure. Take advantage of winter packages offering up to $220 in added value. Rates: $225-400.

Midwest and Great Lakes

5 Ojo Inn, Eureka Springs, AR: This collection of B&Bs, cottages and carriage houses are found in a collection of buildings offering exemplary Ozark hospitality and gourmet breakfasts. Rooms feature such amenities such as private balconies, fireplaces, and whirlpool tubs, plus complimentary in-room treats and beverages. Rates: $95 (some with Jacuzzis) to $155.

Bernadine's Stillman Inn, Galena, IL: This 1858 mansion located in enchanting Galena offers everything from cookies andpopcorn to ice cream 24-7. Stay midweek January through April and really cash in on the savings - rooms start at $110 midweek (to $260 weekends) representing up to 36 percent savings off weekend prices.

Cobblestone Manor - Auburn Hills, MI: Voted "Best in Michigan" by The Detroit Free Press readers' poll, this is the perfect choice for those who want to get away, yet stay "plugged in." Each room has a private phone with voice mail and free high speed Internet access. Beyond the tech-tools, discriminating touches include hydro-massaging tubs, in-room fireplaces, plus careful attention to detail. Rates: $179-349.

Woodstock Inn, Independence, MO: Stay just 30 minutes outside Kansas City in Independence, home to the Truman Library, and enjoy a B&B offering all the amenities including easy access to all KC attractions. Well-appointed rooms and suites offer romantic amenities for couples and modern conveniences for business travelers. Best of all, no big city rates here; rooms cost only $89-219.

Shady Oaks Farm B&B, Northfield Center, OH: This Federal period mansion is set on 20 acres featuring woods, trails and stables (where you can visit the horses). The all-suite accommodations include a sitting room, bedroom and bath. Two of Ohio's largest ski resorts are just a mile away. For extra savings, midweek rates are $50 per night lower. Rates start at $135 midweek to $225 weekends.

White Lace Inn, Sturgeon Bay, WI: Eighteen rooms and suites welcome guests in four turn-of- the-century adjacent homes furnished with antiques, oversized whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. All that Door County offers is nearby. For special savings, stay midweek and take $20 off select rooms, with rates starting at $80 to $235 January through mid-June.

South

Serenbe Southern Country Inn, Palmetto, GA: Set on an organic 800+ acre farm less than 30 miles from Atlanta, guests can visit the farm animals or take a peaceful walk in the woods. Lovely accommodations are found in the main house, cabins or the Lake House, all offering beautifully appointed guest rooms, some with living rooms and porches. Rates: $140-205.

La Maison Marigny, New Orleans, LA: Located in the appealing Marigny district at the gateway to the French Quarter, this Queen Anne style home offers easy access to Bourbon Street and all of New Orleans attractions plus designer fabrics, luxury bedding, flat-screen TVs, Italian tile and more. Rates: $129-159.

Block Keller House, New Orleans, LA: This beautiful neo-Classical style villa offers easy access to the French Quarter and Central Business District (CBD), shopping and New Orleans attractions, plus lush wrap-around gardens. For business travelers, all rooms have voice mail, free wireless and cable TV. Rates: $110-140.

Twin Lakes Lodge, Greensboro, NC: Set in a forest of hickory and dogwood trees, this lakeside B&B is the ideal spot for bird lovers. The spacious guest rooms offer double whirlpool tubs, private entrances and balconies, water views, fireplaces and more. Midweek rates start at $120; weekends at $200-$250.

Braeside Inn, Sevierville, TN: Rustic cabin sophistication with a wee bit of Scottish accent is the theme at this small B&B, offering spacious accommodations in guest rooms with fireplaces, hydromassage tubs, TVs with DVD players and exquisite wrap-around scenery. Rates: $120-165.

New England & Mid-Atlantic

Swann House, Washington, D.C.: From the moment you enter through the expansive arched front porch, this stately Richardson Romanesque style mansion awes guests. The fluted woodwork, inlaid wood floors, crystal chandeliers, and elaborate mantels add to the well-appointed ambiance along with the fabulous DuPont Circle location. Feather beds, large tiled showers and plenty of amenities insure you'll be comfortable. Rates: $150-295.

Belfry Inne & Bistro, Sandwich, MA: Side-by-side sister properties, The Abbey (circa 1900), a former church, and its manse, The Painted Lady (circa 1882) have been beautifully restored with many original features. The Abbey maintains the vaulted ceilings, beautiful stained glass windows and a fine dining bistro. The Painted Lady offers whimsical rooms with hand-painted murals and a secret room. Rates: $115-275, but check for Internet and monthly specials.

Five Gables Inn, St. Michaels, MD: For the ultimate in pampering, visit this historic collection of buildings on Maryland's Eastern shore. Guests enjoy the indoor heated pool, full-service spa, steam room and sauna year-round, plus rooms with Swedish showers, whirlpool tubs, fireplaces and more. They even offer pet-friendly accommodations. It pays to come midweek with rates $50 lower than weekends. Quiet season rates: $150-335.

Camden's Maine Stay Inn, Camden, ME: Located in the historic district one of New England's most beautiful seaside villages, this stately home features beautiful guest rooms, two parlors with wood burning fires and easy walking distance to town. Quiet season rates through Memorial Day start at $110-180; look for midweek savings of $10-20 per room.

Tamworth Inn, Tamworth, NH: Sixteen rooms and suites offer river views, see-through gas fireplaces in bedrooms and baths, and hydro-massage whirlpool tubs. Dine at the inn's fine restaurant and enjoy the vintage sled collection in the pub. Midweek specials include free skiing. Rates: $120-350.

Evergreen, Spring Lake, NJ: Just 65 miles from both NYC and Philadelphia, the Evergreen's slogan is "spend a few nights, not a fortune." Yet lavish bathrooms with double whirlpools, floating fireplaces and TV/VCRs make this a great choice for affordable luxury on the Jersey Shore. Rates: $139-249; midweek take $50 off (no breakfast included).

Edward Harris House, Rochester, NY: A Georgian mansion, located in the arts and cultural center of the city, the Edward Harris is well loved for its affordability, spacious rooms, formal breakfast and turndown service complete with fresh baked cookies and chocolates. For business travelers on the run, early morning paper, early breakfast and wireless Internet capability is a plus. Rates: $129-139.

Boxwood Inn, Akron, PA: Even in the winter, this beautifully renovated stone farmhouse offers wonderful views of Lancaster farm country. Guest rooms feature queen and king beds adorned with Amish quilts, some with wood burning stoves, Jacuzzi tubs, and pet-friendly suites. Close to all that Lancaster County offers. Rates $85-170.

Boothby Inn, Erie, PA: Guest rooms named after countries feature everything from zebra stripes in the Africa Room to a bidet in the France room. Guests help themselves to a refrigerator stocked with drinks and snacks 24-7. Rates: $120-160.
