Breakfast is served in the formal dining room on the main floor. The room is connected to two sitting rooms and the foyer with the original sliding pocket doors. The Inn has two cats. Minou, the braver of the pair, likes to camp out on the front porch.
The Maid's room bath has a heated mosaic tile floor, large clawfoot tub/shower and vintage fixtures. One of the parlors has a fireplace and cozy seating area just off the formal dining room.
The Attic Room is one of our largest and most private bedrooms, with a private ensuite bathroom and high vaulted ceiling. The private attic bathroom was renovated just a few years ago, with a tile floor, shower and single sink vanity.
No, the kitchen hasn't been updated since 1978. No, the mustard yellow and faux brick isn't our favorite. Yes, you can use it anytime you'd like. There's refrigerator space, a small oven, an electric cooktop, a dishwasher, and a handful of small gadgets (waffle iron, toaster, infrared oven, immersion blender, food processor) that you're more than welcome to use. The 1899 Inn is at the heart of Deadwood's historic Presidential District, just a short walk from Main Street and Mount Moriah Cemetery, where Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried.
The outdoor patio off the dining room is open during the summer for breakfast, drinks and gatherings.
