Etretat is home to one of France's oldest and best golf courses, the 18 hole Golf d'Etretat. Located high on the cliffs with panoramic views of the English Channel, it is just 200 metres from the Jardin Gorbeau Etretat Guesthouse. We have golf and restaurant packages available.The master bed in the Enjolras suite. All our beds are 160cm wide, with 100% firm orthopaedic latex matresses. The Enjolras suite is furnished in bamboo furniture from south asia. Each suite in the Jardin Gorbeau Etretat Guesthouse is furnished differently, but all include large double showers, Grohe fixtures, wifi and broadband internet, satellite TV.
The sitting area in the Laigle suite. Laigle is on the second floor of the Maison des Amis, the smaller building in the garden. It is furnished with modern Italian design objects and furniture. The bath floor is done with beach pebbles and it includes a double sized shower with Grohe fixtures. All the suites have wifi and high speed internet, and satellite TV.This is the bathroom of the Laigle suite. The shower is large enought for two, and has beach stones embedded into the floor, giving your feet a nice massage. The fixtures are all manufactured by Grohe.
This is the salon between the suites Fantine and Cosette in the main building. Sometimes guests rent both Cosette and Fantine for a family or a group of friends, and they have the salon to share. The canapé becomes a double bed if necessary, so that the group of suites can accomodate up to 6 people.The most famous view of the Aguille Creuse, often painted and made world famous by Monet. The stories of Maurice Leblanc take place here, and in one of them it is said that the treasure of the King of France is hidden in the needle. You can see part of the Etretat Golf, a 18 hole course with amazing views. All this just a few steps from the Jardin Gorbeau Etretat Guesthouse and Spa.
It is said that the light on the cliffs of Etretat inspired Monet to create the first Impressionist paintings. Here is a sunset scene: the white becomes almost flesh coloured and the stones of the beach reflect like prisms. It is a ritual in Etretat to go to the beach for sunset and wait for the Rayon Vert, a moment of emerald green as the sun goes down. Here is a view of the garden of the Jardin Gorbeau Etretat Guesthouse and Spa taken from the upper floor of the main bilding. There are old but prolific pear trees, many roses of different types, and other flowering plants that fill the garden with perfumes and colors from spring through summer till the fall. You are welcome to enjoy the garden with a book or a cocktail. At the end of the garden is the old carriage house that has been turned into a music room and spa, with sauna and jacuzzi, surrounded by insulating glass.
Here is the spa of the Jardin Gorbeau Etretat Guesthouse, with 4-person jacuzzi and Tylo Sauna, recently completed in what was previously the old carriage house. The spa is enclosed in a glass roofed space so you feel you are in the garden but you are toasty warm even on cold days, when the sauna is just perfect. After a long day hiking along the cliffs there is nothing like a relaxing sauna and jacuzzi. You can have champagne served as you enjoy the bubbles. Just ask !
