Our large parlor offers a cozy fireplace and comfortable area for our guests to read, converse, play games, enjoy the paino or guitar, listen to soothing music or just relax from a full day of activities around town. Complimentary wine, cheese and snack tray are provided in the afternoons. As the sun sets on this historic town, homemade desserts and coffee are provided in the parlor and can be enjoyed on the front porch swing with a view of the river.A full gourmet breakfast awaits you each morning in the gracious formal dining room at a specified time convenient for our guests. The affair begins with a fruit appetizer, your choice of juices, fresh ground coffee and teas. A hot egg dish and sweet dish is served daily and may include Bacon Omlet Baskets and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast! Great conversation around the table and wonderful food.....what a great way to start the day!
The "Turret Room" romantically decorated in plums, rose and neutral colors. This exquisite guest room features a five-sided turret with stained glass windows and a view of the Neuse River. All of our guests rooms are large with comfortable bedding, sitting areas, phones, TV's and private bathrooms. All five guest rooms are decorated individualy with period antiques, family heirlooms and oriental rugs. "Victorian Cottage Room" Enchanting private guest room decorated in gold, greens and neutral colors. This large guest room has a private entrance with plenty of solitude! The sitting area includes an overstuffed chair, ottoman, desk, table and chairs. Large private bath with wardrobe and sit down vanity dresser. Hide away from the world, relax and be pampered at the Howard House!
